Irresistible Nude Velvet

I have to say I'm really intrigued by this one. I tested it once and was underwhelmed... but somehow it lingered in the back of my mind and I started to crave it again. So I sprayed it on again (and then once more), paying more attention this time. What I noticed was that the opening (to me) smells woody and almond-y, with a cleanness that reminds me of baby wipes. Not bad but not my vibe. This bland opening is why I dismissed the scent in the first place, especially as my partner did not like it. But to my pleasant surprise, a few hours later I noticed I had the most pleasant powdery, silky, sweet rose scent! It smells exactly like rose milk tea tastes. And it evokes so many memories and imagery. Walking around the city drinking milk tea, powdering my face with my rose-scented translucent powder, folding rice paper rolls and wontons... It also distinctly smells like the colour baby pink. Which is ironic because they put this one in a nude coloured bottle, while they chose a pink bottle for Rose Velvet (which I'm not a fan of). In some ways this reminds me of "ballet core", not in that the smell actually reminds me of my years as a ballet dancer, but it reminds me of the kind of thing people who have never danced a day in their life associate with ballet. Basically clean pretty blonde girls in pink leotards and tights wearing crisp new ballet shoes, straight out of the pack. No sweat, no bruises, no scuffs on the shoes and not a hair out of place. Basically it's a fantasy - way too perfect to be true. I don't think this is a "grandma perfume" (which I find a very tired and overdone way of describing perfumes that people dislike), but I can imagine a grandma appreciating it, if you know what I mean. It's pleasant, soft, delicate and ladylike. The kind of scent you could wear around people who are prone to headaches from overbearing scents. Not to say this doesn't have good performance or lasting power, because it does, but rather that the scent itself is gentle in its combination of notes. In terms of the notes, I get absolutely all of them except for neroli. Overall, the impression I get from this scent is unapologetically feminine, clean (in a powdery way, not the usual "smells like cleaning chemicals" way), demure and approachable. I imagine that the kind of woman who wears this fragrance is kind, friendly, helpful and beloved by all.

oh man. when I tell you this is one of the BEST, if not THE BEST iris & rose perfumes of all time, believe me I'm not exaggerating. even a bit. Givenchy was the brand that made me buy my first ever high end fragrance when I was 20. it's definitely a brand that does some amazing perfumes. I got introduced to this by a dear Sephora employee last month. I was blown away by the first try. I am among those who were lucky to own a Lipstick On. For the love of GOD, PLEASE STOP comparing this frag to that one! This, in no way, smells like a lipstick to me. it's instead an incredibly classy iris & rose that is sublime with the addition of almond. oh what a beauty this is! it's def the smell of an "always put together, classy and chic woman with great pair of heels on". the woman who makes this their signature scent is ALWAYS looking great. chic and not over the top. Libra or Pisces elegance and elusiveness is what this reminds me of. every time I smell this, I'm blown away by its beauty. this in no way smells like a lipstick to me. I'm very much over that scent profile anyway. I sniffed this enough I think. the next thing I have to do is get a full bottle and stop the need to visit a beauty shop every now and then for good. I love it. Highly recommend. the rating here definitely doesn't do it any justice. Please try for yourself if my review appeals to you and makes you wonder how it really is in person.

Oh wow, oh wow, wow, wow. This is powdery but in a way I've never smelled before--obviously it has facets I could easily identify such as the rose and neroli but beyond that I had no idea what I was smelling in the base--cashmere? Musk? Powder? Just plain ole' ambroxan? Well yes, but also no! The musk in here reminds me a lot of the musk in Phlur Missing Person, but that's where the similarities begin and end. The powderiness in here is unlike anything I've smelled before. I usually dislike almond as a note, I also usually dislike "traditionally" powdery notes (the soapy, aldehydic kinds), but this is neither of those things. It's not even the "lipsticky iris" kind of powdery, not fully anyway. It's there but mostly the specific combination of notes used here succeeds in creating a "rice powder" accord! It reminds me a little of mochi. Shoot, darn, blast it all, this is beautiful. I'm not even in the market for a new fragrance and yet I still insist on trying new samples... I'll never learn!!! [Edit: well, I bought it... 😅] It's a rather "quiet" perfume on me though... I don't mind scents that don't project as long as the longevity is there, and for me this lasts about 6 hours. So while not incredible it certainly isn't short-lived either!

I've tested this perfume many times since its release. This is so simple and beautiful, yet unique in the sea of designer scents we see today. There is something vintage about this perfume... it's what I imagine a classy woman's boudoir to smell like back in the day. In winter, this scent has so many beautiful nuances. It starts out woody and clean, then moves into the powdery rose phase, where you can detect the iris, rice powder and rose notes. It smells like makeup powder. I've reviewed it before and noted it reminds me exactly of a rose scented translucent powder I used for years until they discontinued the scent and replaced it with a scentless version. I can smell the texture in this scent - cold smooth wood followed by silky rice paper and makeup powder. In warmer weather, this quite simply smells like baby powder with a hint of rose. I honestly really enjoy it and find it so, so comforting. I've put off buying it because I live in such a hot, humid climate, but I'm going to get it this year because even if I can only wear it for a few months a year, it's worth it to own this beauty.

The most autumnal of the family. The characteristic cedar accord is the most prominent on me. Rice gives the scent a slightly gourmand and powdery feel in cooperation with iris but it is the rose that plays second to the rice-cedar accord. Sometimes it is even the most prominent and the effect is of a calm, elegant rose. Still fresh and rather pink, with elegance enhanced by iris. The rose makes it versatile also for warm weather but I have a feeling it will be the best in autumn. It is the version that finally did me in - one sniff at a counter and it was so gorgeously cosmetic powder, so comforting I had to buy it. It does smell a bit like that on me but not quite. The other Irresistibles came immediately after it cause I am now enamored with the family though there is no perfect Irresistible for me yet. It is quite close to the pillar after 3 hours. In 24°C it is a skin scent at 5 hours. It is unintrusive, commercially beautiful, calming, elegant but the pillar lasts longer it seems.

I really loved the lipstick scent in the opening; i think it creates a very classy, elegant and feminine introduction. Over time the makeup-like scent transitions into a rose jam accord. Unfortunately i didn’t really enjoy this particular drydown. Overall, i wouldn’t say the perfume smells bad, but since I was so excited about the opening, i ended up feeling a bit disappointed. 6/10. Edit: Yes, it’s really strange, but over time I started to fall in love with this perfume. The combination of iris and almond has had an addictive effect on me. I adored how it melted into a skin scent during the spring months, and I think I want to get the full bottle now.

This perfume is positively glorious. GLO-RI-OUS! A creamy concoction of sweet almond, luxurious puff, soft floral presence and sparkling warm woods in the background. One of the sexiest fragrances I've ever owned. Chemistry plays a significant role, but if Nude works prepare to be complimented. Not loud, projection isn't bad for those in close proximity. After 7 hours still getting lovely whiffs on occasion so longevity is decent and never dried down to a skin scent. For reference, I've owned every Narciso cube and would sooner compare Nude Velvet to Rouge than Poudree. Original Irresistible and Rose Velvet smelled *ok* imho. 🤷🏾

Glossier You's big sister, with buttery soft iris and ambrette and light as air neroli and rose combo that creates this feeling of freshly washed and lotioned skin. Keep in mind this is a very powdery skin scent. Reminds me of Glossier You, but with actual presence and punch. Wear time and projection are quite well! Just about 6 hours, and people can smell it on me after a day at work. Very happy to have found a "beastmode" dupe of You, even though both could be considered quiet fragrances due to the nature of the notes. The bottle is an added bonus, love the pale pink floating bottle optical illusion.

i sprayed this on my hand months ago maybe a year ago now, but the scent still haunts me . i tried the entire line that was available at the time and this was the only one i adored . i see some complaints about the iris and i really dislike that note typically, but here i must say its done to perfection and i get that lipsticky quality people mention when speaking of iris, that i literally do not notice in any other perfume . maybe its the rice powder, as orzo proteins are used a lot in makeup . yea i need a bottle, i cant think of anything that would smell like this (not Donna or that Lancome) .

I love it. I have to admit I was a tad disappointed at first spray. I think because this isn’t super unique or original. It’s probably been done before, but as it dried down, Nude Velvet feels nostalgic and cozy yet classy. The iris is so powdery and comforting. It’s giving fluffy white kittens and lavender cashmere sweaters. I can also picture a classy old Hollywood actress wearing this with a white silk dress and a white feather boa with white heels. I’m not real into most of Givenchy’s perfumes, the rest of this line bored me, but this, I may end up buying a full bottle. Gorgeous.

I still get that juicy pear note from the OG—fresh and lightly sweet—but it’s noticeably softened and less vibrant than before. As the fragrance settles, it turns distinctly powdery, evoking a classic Coty compact powder. The powderiness gradually overtakes the fruit, creating a smooth, cosmetic cloud—almost chalky—that ultimately mutes the pear’s original freshness. To my nose, it lacks the waxy edge needed to qualify as a true “lipstick” scent such as Lipstick On (the ultimate lipstick fragrance to me); this reads more like a compact powder type of makeup IMO. 10/10

At first I thought, "aw man this is the same as the original Irresistible" but after about thirty seconds I could start picking up the differences. This pretty quickly gets softer and more comfortable than the original, stays very clean and a little powdery/creamy over the whole wear. Absolutely love this, as with most Givenchy fragrances. It is different enough to justify owning both, and if I close my eyes I can imagine this is what a geisha would smell like, from the waxy iris, and powdery rice notes, with a persistent soft rose it feels like the whole picture.

Unexpectedly I liked it a lot. I tried a few perfumes from the Irresistible series but didn't like any of them. I found them too heavy and sickly sweet. The Nude Velvet is sweet but inoffensive. It smells exactly like lipsticks. Powdery, sweet, velvety, tender. The rose is abstract, more of a rose jam than a realistic rose. I found this perfume elegant, sexy, nostalgic and calming, but I can totally imagine some people find it nauseating. I usually like fresh and woody perfumes so I didn't expect to like this, and I'm happy I gave it a try.

I'm so happy to finally own this! Every time I go to Ulta, I spray this on myself & fantasize about the dreamy aroma that lingers afterwards. It is a beautiful, classy & super feminine fragrance. It may be for those of us ladies 25+ due to the heavy lipsticky iris but I LOVE that. Iris, musk & rose is what I'm getting. Like you're applying your most lipsticky smelling lipstick, sitting next to a bouquet of soft pink roses, wrapped up in a light cozy blanket. There's my hand at a poetic fragrantica review 🤗 xoxo

The luxury lipstick accord is fantastic. I love it so much that it became a reason to buy my firts Irresistible. It is irresistible to me. It dominates for the first hour or two, then the cedar note starts to sound stronger and stronger regretfully. It has a bit of a masculine vibe to the note, but it is not unpleasant, just it turns into a woody-floral. Lasts very well, around 12hours and projects to arm length. Competent and dreamy. Fit for office environment and to be applied in the morning.

So addictive. I keep sniffing my arm when I wear this. I didn’t even like it at first when I tested it in-store, but it totally grew on me after trying it again at home, and I ran out of the tester so fast! It’s super powdery and waxy, with a lovely lipstick vibe from the iris. It smells really unique too — not your typical powdery floral. Longevity is also surprisingly good, around 7 to 8 hours on my skin. It’s soft, pretty, comforting, and works for any occasion. I love this!

The first time i tried this it smelled horrible and offensive to me it chocked me so bad and made me sick that whole day. I remember it smelled like chemical cardboard and it was so bitter. but i revisited this recently and the scent changed completely!! Now i get more of that pear it’s slightly sweet and i get the almond it resembles the original irresistible alot but stronger and more powdery, i still get that cardboard smell in the initial spray but luckily it goes away

Love this. It is very powdery and floral, and I find it sensual and alluring, aptly named. Amazing iris fragrance. Long-lasting, around 8-10 hours on me. Very feminine, but that doesn’t bother me. I just love wearing nice-smelling fragrances. Scent: 9/10 Longevity: 9/10 Projection: 8/10 Update (3/22/2026) After a year of having this, I can definitely say the scent profile is amazing. Sadly, it started triggering my migraine, which I haven't experienced before.

Well, this has *very* quickly become my favorite fragrance and I just can't stop myself from choosing it over and over again in preference to the many, many other bottles within my large collection of fragrances. I'm actually quite blown away by that as the last time this happened to me with fragrance was back in the 80s with Prescriptives' Calyx and Dior's Poison.

None of the Irresistible line perfumes worked for me but this is an amazing scent. What an incredible delicate iris, sensual and addictive! I don't even how to describe it other than it's a very delicate powdery rose scent, delicate but not weak, very unique, more of a niche scent. I have not smelled anything like that before, definitely adding to my collection.

I was offput by the lipstick smell at the first spray on paper but it brought me back to nostalgia of my mom's makeup bins and vanity. After the scent settled on paper, it smelled soft a dainty like a new mother who wants to wear perfume but something not to strong to irritate her newborn baby. I would love to try it on my own skin next time!

Velvety floral meets sweet almond in this sleeper hit from Givenchy. I absolutely adore this fragrance, which I discovered purely by chance when it stopped me dead in my tracks. Seasonal versatility, satisfying longevity, and an absolutely charming lipstick note make this my favorite perfume in my collection to date.

I'm so happy with this fragrance, is so smooth. The Iris is calming and relaxing, is a hug fragrance. I was looking for a fragrance from Irrésistible line and this is a great one🩷 This is what I was hoping from Narciso Poudre when I got it.

I just got this today but already love it, some say this resembles replicas lipstick on but if the dua dupe smells like it then I don't think they are alike, I have never smelled lipstick on but I do own the dua dupe and I highly recommend.

Very pretty fragrance. I get the almond and Iris, making it a soft, powdery scent. It's a perfect office-friendly perfume. It probably would not hold up in Texas heat for Summer, but it could perhaps be boosted or layered. Very pleasant.

I love the powdery feeling of the dry down, and the first spray smells like a new lipstick. The Iris! This is good if you want a feminine fragrance. It's to feminine for myself personally, but I would love to smell this on a woman.

This is an iris bomb! Absolutely stunning! Completely different than the original. This flanker is far removed from its mother! But a proud mother she is!

This is the best perfume I have discovered in years. It's that delicate powdery waxy lipstick-y rose & iris perfection I've been looking for.

Smells exactly like my mom’s lipsticks from the 90’s.

This perfume is true to the notes, powdery with a touch of almond. Before I tried it, I thought it would smell like Narciso Poudree (which I own), and I'd say that Irresistible Nude Velvet is in a similar family but more dry and powdery. Irresistible Nude Velvet actually reminded me a less sweet, more dry version of Flowerbomb. Performance of Irresistible Nude Velvet was moderate. I sprayed 5-6 sprays on myself at Ulta, and 4-5 hours later I could still smell it, but it was not strong. I supposed the Nude Velvet in the name implies a fragrance that is more close to the skin (nude), and in that case, it does perform better than your average skin scent. Overall, this is a nice perfume for what it is. I think it's well suited for winter and spring months. If money were no object, I'd buy it, but I think it's close enough to Narciso Poudree where I wouldn't need both (although, Irresistible Nude Velvet would do better than the Narciso in warmer weather).

It definitely is makeup powder! It's not sweet like other perfumes of this type, at least to my nose. I think it might pull too musky, clean, woody on me, which makes it lean more mature IMO. It does remind me of Dreamers by Moth and Rabbit - which is another one which I had high hopes for but pulled too musky and not sweet enough for my personal tastes. Also reminiscent of Narciso's Poudree. It reminds me of a very well put together woman who dresses to the 9's on Sunday for attending church. DOESN'T smell anything like Lipstick On to my nose, other than the waxiness in the opening

This is a lovely, feminine fragrance. The scent bubble is intimate and longevity is very good. I spritz in the morning and still smell it by bedtime. The iris note is dominant and gives it a nostalgic quality, which instantly reminds me of lipstick. The almond and musk are warm, sweet, and comforting. My hubby told me how yummy I smell when he hugged me goodbye this morning. I will be wearing it often this winter. It is suitable for both day and night wear. It has a classic quality, and may initially come off as mature. But that is not how it wears. Its soft and girly.

My first reaction was an “oh my god” followed by a deep inhale. This fragrance is so makeupy, powdery smooth with a bit of the original Irresistible DNA. I’ve tried other fragrances that center a similar combination of notes but none achieve this level of makeup powder without smelling like an old tub of Coty. I’m really liking this fragrance. It would be a love if the powdery part of the fragrance lasted longer. Instead, in the deep drydown it is similar to the original Irresistible. I still would not mind a bottle of this and the Rose Velvet flanker.

smells like the bottle looks. so girly, fluffy, clean, sweet. does a great job of capturing the texture of velvet in olfactory terms, smooth and plush and luxurious. it is cozy, but not exceptionally warm. it is quite rose forward, as well as powdery iris and a velvety musk. quite a simple, inviting scent that won’t please niche or beast-mode lovers. but for what it is it’s really really pretty. not my usual taste, but would love a small bottle for when i feel like cosplaying as ‘demure’.

Very pretty. Iris and rose powdery bomb with a soft cosmetic dry down. Like geisha rice makeup powder. If you miss Love Chloe I think this could be a decent substitute. It has the same rice powder just different flowers. Iris and rose instead of lilac and wisteria. Although that does make a difference. Give this one a try if you like fragrances in the same style as Love Chloe.

I have tried it in the shop, wanted to try new irresistible one. It is very floral and slightly powdery, what is smell is rose and peony, in my nose, this is exactly same as Lancome - Tresor in love. had that perfume long time ago, it is in my mind deeply, so the first thing that came to me while smelling irresistible was Lancome. Anyways, it is good perfume, lovely, fairy.

I like this. I can't place why it feels nostolgic to me. I hadn't grown up with women with makeup or perfume. I was hoping this would be similar to Diamonds Black Carat For Her by Giorgio Armani. Not really, it's too powdery but the vibe is similar with the rose and iris. Diamonds had a balsamic sticky note with rose that was sexy. This just feels soft and clean.

I’m not sure what to make of this one. Cosmestic powder? No. Maybe fruity hairspray? I smell a delicious iris at the very first spray, but it dissipates quickly, unfortunately. I love irisy makeup scents and this doesn’t scratch that itch. I’m not sure where the fruitiness is coming from, but it’s chemically and harsh to my nose like an old school hairspray.

Smells like lipstick 💄& expensive compact powder. Finally, a sweet powdery scent that doesn't have an old lady vibes to it. It's very quiet (not a loud screaming scent), calming clean scent Suitable for daytime, office work, brunch & maybe even bridal. I'd say it will stand out more in autumn & winter.

I mostly got a cozy, sweet blend of powdery, creamy, and floral notes. So far, I like this the best of all the offerings from the Irresistible line. It would probably be a bit cloying in hot weather, though because of the almond and ambrette notes. I got a good eight hours of wear time from this, too.

I prefer this flanker to the OG! It has the same dewy rose and peach but with added Iris, which gives the smell a lipsticky feel. If you like powdery fragrances with floral and fruity touches this would be a safe option. It is sweet and I consider it as feminine and pretty.

This one opens up with a strong, dry, waxy iris scent. Then it becomes a clean, airy, fluffy skin scent. I get a powdery, musky rose in the dry down. I would happily wear this as a casual everyday scent if I had a bottle.
