Organza Indécence

The jacaranda note appears to be missing form the pyramid above...and as it is a very sweet note, and dominates this scent, it's a bit of a problem. I am testing the original and the reformulation EDPs side by side-in a sense they are not so different. I have to say, Indecence is so hyped, that I was expecting something much more impressive. This is NOT Dior Addict, although it tries to hit some very similar notes. I think that the cost of the mini (original) and sample (reformulation) have colored my expectations for the perfume. In the reformulation the jacaranda blossom is forward from the outset, and screeches worse than tuberose. In fact, I initially thought it was synthetic tuberose. Then I had to go hunting for the official notes. The cinnamon is also forward in the opening accord, and I can't tell if it is synthetic cinnamon, or if the sweetness of that jacaranda note is simply blending with the spice in such a way that it "feels" fake. Vanilla is overwhelming, contributing to the sweetness overload. I notice that a couple of reviewers suggest that this scent is similar to candy, to caramel (burnt sugar) and to very sweet fruit. This is accurate. It is overly sweet, and while the spice seems like it could be interesting, it just never settles into a place where it actually becomes a pleasant scent. The dry down occurred on my skin within 30 minutes, and I could only detect the scent if I breathed on my skin. Doing so, however, did produce a brief waft of nicely balanced spice, jacaranda and vanilla, only detectable with my nose touching my wrist. Meanwhile, the original has a much quieter opening, the alcohol being the dominant scent. Once the heart opens, cinnamon, clove, and perhaps anise? are present, with just a touch of vanilla and jacaranda. This balance is dark and warm, and holds steady for several hours. The difference between the two versions reads as one of quality, but knowing that sandalwood is part of the base, and therefore probably used as a fixative for the other notes, I wonder if the synthetic sandalwood in the reformulation is just not up to the task. I don't notice a real difference in the sandalwood itself, except that it is more apparent in the original, due to the more restrained balance of notes. I can't help wondering if this issue has been dealt with in later versions of the reformulation? I am testing the first 2000 batch, so the IFRA sandalwood constraints had just gone into effect. It is possible that later versions of the reformulation improved, although the reviews below imply that it did not. Ultimately the original dries down to something similar to the new version, a touch of cinnamon, vanilla, jacaranda blossom, and creamy sandalwood. But the scent is reduced to faint traces almost six hours after application for the original, while this occurred within an hour on the reformulation. Both scents are softer than expected during the heart adn dry down, but the heart lasted long enough on the original to be satisfying, and the deeper tone was much more enjoyable. I can see wearing the original, and being pleased, knowing what those around me are smelling when they lean in. I can't say the same for the new version. It's not horrible, it's just not pleasant, either. Overall, I think that the original would grow on me over time. It's possible that the reformulation might, as well. But frankly, I don't like the reformulation enough to find out. My recommendation to people who are thinking of blind buying just to try the famed Indecence? Don't. This scent would be interesting in the original formulation at a reasonable price. But at the current sky high prices that they are selling for, I think that you will likely have the reaction I did: "This is NOT that special!" I encourage you to spend your money elsewhere, and maybe, when you make a friend who has a bottle, beg a small decant for a reasonable fee. I've seen minis going for $40 on the 'bay, and anyone who pays that kind of price will find the contents of the bottle disappointing. But if you find a *good* deal on the original- go for it ;) EDIT: The original version od Indecence has indeed grown on me. I find that layering with the original Organza produces terrific longevity and projection for the spice notes, and the combination is AMAZING. If you own both, I strongly recommend that you try it!

I wasn't supposed to like this. I put off buying it forever. For many reasons... mostly cuz I've been "sucked in" by reviews before, only to be disappointed. Its not the reviewer's faults... its mine for not sampling before blind buying. Another reason I put this off is obvious. It's discontinued and is fetching great prices for the sellers on eBay. Not a good position to be in for a buyer. So, my hope was that this would be a "meh, I can live without this" scent. My hopes have been dashed against the rocks of low expectations. I. love. this. stuff. I know there are plenty of notes to croon about. But for me, it's all about that creamy resin sprinkled with the enchanting cinnamon. I am a sucker for a few things. Sweet vanilla powdery bases. Plummy opening notes. Cinnamon. And a good creamy teeth achingly sexual amber/resin. (I don't "feel the plum" in this, by the way) But boy, oh boy, am I swoooooning for that light warm cinnamon creamy resin filling. I was so lucky to have gotten a .17oz (oh so freaking tiny) bottle for $7.50. (!!! I KNOW, HUH???!!!! Yay me)... and the dabbing was great. I immediately knew my wallet was in big trouble. But today I also put 2ml in a spray atomizer and I have been luxuriating in this scent for 9 hours now. Just a few spritzes on my neck and between "the girls" and I've been falling in love with myself! WHY WHY WHY did the perfume house discontinue this??? SERIOUSLY??? I just have not seen cinnamon done this good in a perfume. No, I have not smelled them all, but dang, I have smelled a lot. I've been on a cinnamon hunt for a long time. I favor CK Obsession for that reason (and the same creamy resinous drydown). I see there is the new offering of this, but the notes are totally different, and the reviews on the new stuff are poor. At least for those who dare to compare. For those who never experienced the original, they say the new stuff is good. But I'm forever ruined now. I hope to experience the new scent soon, just out of curiosity. But I'll be trolling the eBay shelves for days to come, looking for the elusive seller who has no idea what they have in their hands so that I can SNATCH it up for a song. Sorry, not much reviewing going on here. Mostly just cow-eyed adoration. If I was smart, I'd come on here and tell you all that this is horrid and to stay away! (so I can have what's left on this planet for my own). *sigh* So, um... ah-em... THIS IS HORRID! STAY AWAY! ;) see ya on eBay. EDIT: The current version of this is almost identical in every way. Don't believe those who think otherwise. I am no longer bidding on these via eBay... the new bottle is easy to find, relatively inexpensive compared to the vintage and smells heavenly divine. If anyone who doesn't think the new stuff is any good and wants to pay a fortune for the two huge full bottles of the vintage that I own, you can PM me. I'll be thrilled to strike a deal with you!!!

This review is based on the formula from 1999-2000. I received a mini bottle in a gift set from my mother during that time. My aunt called from the mall saying she was buying her daughter a gift box of 5 mini perfume bottles. It was on sale in Macy's or similar store. She asked if my mom wanted to buy one for me, so we said yes and my aunt picked it up and my mom paid her. I believe they were gifts for my cousin and I for Valentine's Day or Christmas, but I'm not sure. It's hard to remember. The gift box is red wood with silver metal design on top, and a picture frame in the center. The inside is lined in red velvet with 5 mini bottles. Obsession EDP, White Diamonds EDT, Amarige, Organza Indecence, and Davidoff Cool Water. I was about 22 years old, and wasn't into perfumes due to my allergies growing up. Perfumes often bothered my sinuses. But I was glad to have this gift set for occasions I wanted to use a fragrance. My favorite from the set was Amarige, which I wore for several years on any special occasion. It was a nice neutral scent on me and wasn't strong. I kept the gift box on my dresser for years until the top was tarnishing and I stored the set on my closet shelf. A couple of years ago after I started collecting perfume, I took this set out and sampled them again. The best was Indecence. It started out loud but dried down to a delicious warm buttery scent, with some spice and sweet notes. Normally patchouli makes me feel ill, but in this scent it either disappears fast or is blended nicely. It is one of the few perfumes with patch in it that I love. I brought it out for my mom to try too, since she remembers the gift box well. She tried Obsession and it was very loud on her. Filled the room. Cool Water didn't smell good, and White Diamonds EDT is not as good as the EDP. Amarige no longer was very good to my nose. Indecence is the best of the 5. Really smells delicious. I went online to order a new bottle and was sad to see it was discontinued. I cherish my mini bottle and keep it in the gift set. I saw some people selling the mini for high prices. I won't sell mine, for sentimental reasons and because I love it. A new formulation probably wouldn't smell as good, but it would be nice to be able to buy a new full bottle. I did buy a new Amarige, which was still available. Just to have it in case I ever want to use it. I also purchased Organza, which is good but not great like Indecence.

One caveat before the rhapsody: this is a discontinued cult scent now, not a shop-shelf buy. Finding a bottle is half the romance and most of the frustration, so read the rave with that in mind. Vanilla has spent two decades being the note everyone apologises for. The default setting. The thing you smell on a teenager who raided the Body Shop, the flavour of every three-for-two supermarket candle. Perfume snobs (and I've been one, on my worst days) file it under beige, inoffensive, faintly embarrassing. Organza Indécence is the argument against all of that, and it wins. This one is for people who actually love vanilla and have stopped pretending otherwise. It wants nothing to do with exoticism or spice-rack theatrics, no clever clash of scent and colour to certify your good taste. What you get is vanilla, raw and unhurried, on a cream base that borders on the obscene. On my skin, it reads as milk and vanilla over a dry, resinous wood, the same austere dryness I get from Wenge DK. What more do you actually want from a bottle? There's an honesty here that most gourmands never risk. The syrupy, cakey ones smell juvenile next to it. Indécence is warm and carnal and slightly rude, which is presumably how it earned the name. The quick card: Longevity: a few hours, and it belongs to the evening. Bottle: tacky, and still better than anything Mugler has ever put out. Low bar, cleared with room to spare. On skin that normally devours perfume: high and immediate. It simply refuses to leave. Price: shameless, and now that it's discontinued, shameless with a collector's markup. Person it conjures: Dita Von Teese. Song it conjures: "Closer", Nine Inch Nails. Make of that what you will. Tempo: more tango than waltz. Wearing it since 1999. Bottle: 100 ml. The Dita and "Closer" pairing does real work, so I'll own it: this is a fragrance about controlled filth. The burlesque version of desire, rather than the messy one, sensuality performed with immaculate posture. Which is exactly why the tacky bottle is forgivable. The juice has better manners than its packaging.

For my very first review, I figured I'd start with my favorite perfume of all time; Organza Indécence. First, there is no connection at all with Organza ; I always wondered why Givenchy didn't simply name it Indécence. Then, this is not a fragrance for shy people ; here, we are not dealing with a sweet or flowery perfume as we can smell most of the time but with a very spicy, surprising perfume, with exceptional staying power and sillage. If you wear it, there's a good chance people will turn around and ask you what your perfume is. For me, it was always in the good sense of the word ; people loved the smell and were pleasantly surprised to discover it. Regarding the notes, first I smell cinnamon, powerful and enveloping at the same time, then come the powdery side and vanilla, all enhanced by plum and amber. What I particularly like in this perfume is that cinnamon, here, does not smell as in a cake, that there is no note of incense (which I don't particularly like in spicy orientals) and that it is resolutely feminine (often difficult to find a spicy perfume which is not unisex or which does not lean towards the masculine). It was extremely sensual (in fact, many men approached me thanks to - or because of ! - this perfume) and I felt incredibly good when I wore it, sexy and confident. It was my signature, my smell, like a second skin. The fact that it was relatively unknown to the general public means that I have never come across a single other person wearing it, a truly delightful feeling. Sadly discontinued, then re-released a second time (slightly different but just as daring) and discontinued again today:'(. Since then, I have always been looking for the perfume that will replace it... without ever finding it.

Around 2002 I had my first encounter with this gem . I always loved woody perfumes ( I'm not a floral type though I like flowers and perfumerie is all about flowers as a main theme ) spicy perfumes and perfumes around oriental themes . Organza indecence is that kind of perfume. I wore her for approximately two years and though she was too sweet for my tastes I became a follower . Also I noticed that the opposite sex had a high appreciation for her as well , even my sister who was always relied to me and my nose and of course my huge collection of perfumes to find her a alluring perfume and organza indecence became her signature fragrance ( I wasn't making perfumes my self at that time ) . This indecent organza is a bit loud very sweet and very oriental ambery vanillic , but a very subtle vanilla ( Tahitian ) musky , and woody, ( bois de rose or rosewood ) . To thing about how a simple perfume I mean in it's composition can be so beautiful is what creating perfume is all about . Simplicity is best most of the times only the proportions matters and how well molecules blend . This is what organza is a skillfully simple beautiful recipe , a concoction of resins and spices , an oriental blast . I would recommend if someone come across with the vintage organza give it a try even if this isn't something you'd like , you won't lose by this encounter . Tonight with all these memories of that lost beauty I thought I would give it a try and reconstruct her ( I have a half 100 ml eau de parfum in the treasure box ) guess what ? I'm wearing organza indecence 2015 harvesting .

Well first you should really view the advert on you tube , sex sells especially when it's a beautiful dark haired siren with her hands inside her gown :) ORGANZA INDECENCE edp vintage yr 2000 batch code is what I managed to get my hands on. I was a fan of Organza but had read about this discontinued gem and had to try it. WOW.... This is quite stunning , creamy , vanilla and spices with warm amber maybe woods and patchouli . On my skin the cinnamon stands out almost gourmand , I'm thinking cinnamon toast or buns cooking but not so much it's a total food fragrance it's way more clever than that. This is gently sexy and erotic and I will treasure my bottle. Why an earth was this discontinued and then reformed ? This is smoky fragrance that changes a few times too before dry down. It's not as strong as it's sister fragrance organza she needs caution when spraying though she too is a beauty very different from this fragrance though I felt a little of organza had made it through into this perfume but no real flowers in this one to my nose. I felt a little of dior addict was floating much more gently around here too so if addict is too strong for you try this , that said this is no wallflower this is incredible I can see why it is soo loved , a cozy blanket of fragrance that right now is making me feel a little hungry , from the cinnamon and honey wafting up from my arm. Cinnamonny goodness but mixed with a sexy dryness that's truly captivating , the advert is absolutely right it's INDECENCY / in-de-cence !!!

I have, and adore, the re-release of this scent, but I was curious to see if it was so different from the original since I'd heard conflicting reports. Finally got ahold of a mini of the original, and here's my take: The original is a bit drier and woodier and rougher (but not in a bad way; more like, you feel the "bark" of the cinnamon more viscerally), where the newer one is creamier and smoother. That's the main difference that stands out to me. In terms of projection and lasting power, I find them pretty similar, even after transferring the mini into a spray vial to get a better comparison. Maybe I'm just lucky, but I get wonderful sillage and longevity from the new one—I can still smell it faintly after a shower sometimes! The original version is lovely (and what a fun bottle), but I find the new one equally so, if ever so slightly different in texture. For those who loved the original and can't find a way to love the re-release, that's a real bummer! But if you're new to the frag (or just haven't tried the newer one yet), I would 100% say give the new one a shot to see if it works for you. I really don't think it has to be all gloom and doom and "nothing's as good as it used to be." I adore both versions, and at this point, I'm just trying to decide how many backups I want to buy! UPDATE: Just bought a li'l 15ml bottle to add to my collection, bc A) can't have too many backups of perfection?? and B) both versions are great so I want both!

Ceylon Cinnamon with Vanilla & Brazilian Rosewood... This is a longtime love for me. Opens with Brazilian Rosewood supported by multi-faceted patchouli, and already you can feel the vanilla swelling through. This deepens into the heart, picking up Ceylon Cinnamon and faint plum tones, resting on a musky vanilla-amber base. Ceylon Cinnamon is really the star of the show here, with the other notes recognizable, but serving to support and enhance different facets of the Ceylon Cinnamon. including woody, warm, creamy, spicy & vanillic. It picks up so much vanilla as it dries down, that it almost becomes a Madagascar Vanilla scent - almost. Keeping this from becoming a cinnamon-bun scent is the Brazilian Rosewood which lends a rich, woody facet - sooooo good! Performance is well above average for year round wear, but the warmth in the profile make this most appropriate for cooler weater. The best memories I have from wearing this are around the holidays. Contrast to Suki Essence Weil: These are different, but there are striking similarities with cinnamon & vanilla. Suki Essence is slightly more amber forward and has a faint oud note, but requires dark storage after first sprays to develop performance. Organza Indecence outperforms. Overall: gorgeous Ceylon Cinnamon & Vanilla scent with excellent performance. I've loved this scent since it was released, and I'm treasuring the last 1/4 of my vintage bottle. 10/10. Enjoy!

Score! I purchased a bottle of Organza Indécence on eBay for a reasonable price—the original formula in the blousy caftan bottle and, as I once read someone amusingly describe it, the Bene Gesserit cap. (The crossover between fragrance and sci-fi fandoms must be slim to nil, but I am HERE for that humor!) My only previous experience with the scent was a spritz of the newer formula in the drab bottle design from a few years back. It didn’t hit me then, so maybe my nose has matured, or maybe the two versions are more different than others have noted, but... WOW! This smells like a sibling of Féminité du Bois! The woody accords in each are so deliciously similar. Serge Lutens already created variations on that scent with Bois de Violette, Bois et Musc, Bois et Fruits, etc. Here, though, is a fragrance that could easily sit alongside those greats. With the emphasis on cinnamon and vanilla, might I suggest an alternate name? Féminité de la Vanille? Or Bois et Vanille? Bois de Cannelle, perhaps? Whatever the name, this juice is gorgeous. Perfumes like this mostly get reserved for colder temperatures, but it’s airy enough to be worn in heat too. It’s perfect on my skin right now in late June. If you enjoy woods, spice, and/or unisex gems, do your nose a favor and get your hands on a bottle! ETA: I’m now hoarding this stuff. Another bottle of vintage and one of the reissued-in-a-new-bottle-sans-mons-pubis are on order.

[Updated comparison with Biehl Parfumkunstwerke eo01 at bottom. Bottom line: OI still beats it] Love this soooooo much! The mini I just received had about 2ml perfume left and the oil has emulsified probably due to evaporation of alcohol, so I'm not sure how much this mini will resemble the real bottle... but still, the fragrance smells so wonderful that I'm impelled to write a review of it. The plum and cinnamon combo in Organza Indecence kills. It's so beautifully mixed to produce a ripe, juicy, dark fruity note that is also spicy. This sweetens up the amber and patchouli to give it almost a sweet incense vibe. it reminds me of Ambre 114 by Histoires de Parfums, only that in OI the amber is smoother and more edible due to the cinnamon and vanilla. The longer the perfume sits on my skin the more noticeable the vanilla note is than before, and the more milky it smells. I love it. From what I had longevity and projection are stellar (8+hr, arm-length+). I'm so pleased that I can sample a great classic, and I wish one day Givenchy will bring back this beauty. Update: biehl parfumkunstwerke eo01 shares the same style of OI but is more fruity/zesty with less depth. If eo01 replaces apricot and chilli with plum and patchouli, amps up the cinnamon and removes the orchid note I can call the two same perfume. But no, on me they are not *that* similar to justify not owning OI!

This is my all time favorite perfume. I have tried niche perfumes, vintages, new scents, low priced, high priced, and the list goes on. I lucked out and found a decent sized bottle tucked into a bath kit with some other nonconsequentials on ebay and I bid just because the bottle was in it. I have several of them and I get compliments on it whenever I wear it. Yesterday, I felt like I was being followed... AND I WAS!!! I turned around and there were four unbelievably handsome men standing near me sniffing. One of them walks up to me and sticks his nose right to my neck and just inhales. (It was very awkward but I wasn't complaining. He was just that hot!) After a few moments he asked me what I was wearing and if I was seeing anyone. The other three walked up to me and introduced themselves. I spoke to them for a moment and he gave me his number. As I walked away I felt happy and almost suckerpunched by the realization that they no longer make this to die for scent and it's almost a death match to get another bottle. I feel heartbroken and outraged. This scent is a sensual, deep, embracing, and memory making scent. Fragrances such as this should be available for as long as people have olfactory senses because this scent will most definitely catch the nose and linger in minds and hearts. P.S. I will not speak of the atrocity they call a remake. %$&! them.

Wow! This was a total blind buy from e-Bay and I paid a LOT for it but I am SOOOOO happy! I was persuaded by all the amazing reviews and it sounded right up my alley so I just had to have it. It is the most amazing scent. Soft clouds of cinnamon and patchouli with warm, rich amber and a hint of vanilla musk. I do not get much plum but I believe it's there somewhere. I was hoping this scent wouldn't be overpowering, too spicy, too mature, or too dry, and luckily, it's not any of those things! The cinnamon is a bit dry, in a sense, but all the other notes add a softness and a slight creaminess that is just dreamy. The scent is quite strong, but not enough to be overpowering; just enough so that you feel you got your money's worth. There is a slight sweetness but not in the least bit cloying or sugary; just enough so that gourmand lovers as well as haters can appreciate it. Unless you are a cinnamon hater, I really do not see how anyone that has a sense of smell can dislike this perfume. It's literally like being wrapped in the coziest fleece blanket. Not old fleece with the pills and the roughness, but new fleece- the kind you get that is so soft you can barely feel it. This is going to be my ultimate winter fragrance. I just wish they didn't reformulate it and change the bottle. I can't afford another bottle from e-Bay!

Oh the sorrow of broken bottles of precious perfume and the loss of my most favorite sensual and sophisticated, warm and woody, spicy Ceylon cinnamon, true vanilla and ever so slight plum Oriental with good sillage, impressive longevity and an inconceivably divine drydown that is to die for. Organza Indecence...mmmmm I wish I could eloquently express how the feelings and sweet memories you induce within me with your intoxicating scent is nearly transcendent. I’ve never written a review before and would just prefer to read the impressions of other perfume lovers here on Fragrantica and learn from them. But after I accidentally knocked over a box of perfumes onto the tile floor this morning and broke two full bottles of circa 2000 Organza Indecence...scenting the room sublimely and simultaneously breaking my heart...I felt compelled to pay tribute to one of the most beautiful and exquisite perfumes I have ever known. Those of you who have a favorite adored perfume that has been reformulated or discontinued know what I am feeling and trying to convey. May all of your perfumes remain unbroken and please PM if you know of a suitable or worthy substitution.

When I wasn’t interested in the scents yet, my daughter found this in a second hand store and sold it to me. Definitely she wanting to double her winnings and I frantically wondered if I would pay 4€ for a bottle of 1/3 used? ... Well, luckily the girl needed candy money, otherwise this would have gone to princess games and now maybe I could be annoyed? I thought the scent was too oriental and heavy, but I didn’t throw it away because the bottle is so beauty! So this spent another 10 years among my lingerie, until my only evening scent Hypnotic Poison started to run out... When I returned from the perfume shop, shocked and empty hand ( I had never think, that the scents were being reshaped!) then I dug this up. I researched the bottle for a while and found a mention, that this has been a sample bottle. I thought the scent was still too heavy and oriental, so I started looking for a new evening fragrance for me... So I calculated that, in addition to being a sample bottle, my bottle must be almost 20 years old! Well, this is no longer too heavy or oriental for me, has my juicy turned? 😂.

I got this in a Givenchy gift box from 2001. Phew... it's really... powerful. It's pleasant, but rather heady. I only put a few drops on and now know that the small bottle I have is going to last me a long time. This one is actually somehow similar to Baiser Du Dragon by Cartier - it has the same amount of sweetness and is also a winter fragrance. I think the same about the original Organza - a girl I know wears Organza in the most perfect way, but even she can't pull it off it the summer. Even though this doesn't have any smoky ingredients listed, it does smell to me like it has some smoke to it. Also, this has some kind of a liqueur smell at first, which I find a bit manly/unisex. At the drydown this is a little smoky, spicy bubble gum-scented a.k.a. has cinnamon. It's not my favourite, but I like it. I can't wait till the winter to test it out though - I'm sure it will smell better then. I think I might like the newer version better though, as it doesn't have musk, which is an ingredient I've found to be better off without.

THIS is one that I’ll forever miss the most. Yes, it still exists from Ulta* (*apparently no longer, it was there a few years ago), but it’s reformulated and sad. The original Organza Indecence was launched in 1999 so I don’t recall smelling or wearing it until the early 00’s. Givenchy Organza Indecence is how a >subtly< sweet woody-vanilla-spice fragrance is done. Nothing else has ever been as good as this (except for Fendi Theorema, but this is easier to wear without the aldehydes). All the syrupy-cakey-obnoxious gourmands smell so juvenile and gauche compared to Givenchy Organza Indecence. I’ve been searching for a slightly sweet, cinnamon-spice, woody vanilla for over a year, and now I’m remembering GOI, and realizing I just wish I could find this again, because it's exactly what I've been searching for and never finding. 10/10 Smoldering, cozy & sexy PS: coming back to say that Teo Cabanel Barkhane can kind of fill this void for me. Barkhane is an ambery-vanilla woody scent (very much a sweet sandalwood scent).

I've wanted to try this perfume for absolutely ages. I remember the original Organza, which I liked, but not enough to buy. Based on the notes and reviews, it sounded like I would really like the Indecence version, so I found myself on a quest to track down a bottle (ideally without spending a fortune). I found a new miniature bottle online and snapped it up as a blind buy. The batch code indicates it was produced in 2006. On first application I can sense the original Organza and was a bit taken aback by how strong, spicy and masculine it smelled. After dabbing on my wrists and waiting several minutes however, the perfume mellowed. It settled down to a warm cinnamon-vanilla scent, which is very sexy and feminine, but still retains that woody-spicy edge. This is a beautiful fragrance for Autumn/Winter (too bad I got it in Spring)! Reminds me of a cross between the original Organza and Dior Addict. It has a somewhat gothic vibe, which I really like.

sometimes I feel that when certain fragrances become discontinued, they also gain a status which is slightly undeserved, like dead pop or movie stars. Organza Indecence has to be the Jayne Mansfield of perfumes. To me, it's incense and cinnamon heavy with a vanilla-amber drydown. It really is very pleasant, and I purchased it unsniffed without a thought (after reading all the reviews) for a modest amount in a little pharmacy (god bless 'em!), but I have to say that I own and have smelled other perfumes which are very similar, even my husbands Gucci pour Homme (another soon to be discontinued incense) smells like it, or Matthew Williamsons incense, though this has more warmth and depth. Sillage and longevity are mannerly and all in all, it's a little more Jayne and a little less Marilyn than I wished for....

Sweet baby Jesus , This is mmmmmmmmmmmmm. In UK we used to have hot sweet like a gobstopper called Fireballs ! Fireballs were a right if passage in late 70's and early 80,s If u and your mates had fireballs u had to endure 3 days of torture trying to lick them till they were gone ! We were tough kids , u could not cry at the heat u had to pretend u were hard and enjure the pain ! Mum might try to slip u a cold drink but if found out cheating other kids would not let that go , u lost , so try not to give in and finish that burning sweet ! No wonder the dentist's had their head in there hands all that sugar ! Haha what a great memory ! Boy this fragance is like hot sweet fireball sweets but drizzed in honey ;) Beautiful fragrance ! Easy to wear spicy almost wanna eat this ! 10/10

Delicious, delectable, incomparable, irreplaceable. I tried this after it came out sometime around 2000 and loved it so much I bought a full bottle. Which I rarely do with fragrances that are this succulent with spice and vanilla, so Indecence is special in my book. It makes me want to completely enjoy all five of my senses at the same time, it draws me in through every stage and lasts all day or night. It's perfection for a spicy ambery oriental, what I'd call gourmand, even if it's not a gourmand specifically, I can't imagine this having been done any better! I just learned that rather than being discontinued, a different and very simplistic bottle was used. I wonder how many times I've overlooked it, hopefully the perfume is the same as it always was!

(vintage) Gorgeous. Starts off very creamy, like a plum vanilla. On first application, in cold weather, a creamy lush musky sweetness, quite "foody". Luca is right, this is almost mouth-watering. I did a very sparing few dabs, as this is pretty strong - heady - too many wrist-sniffs and I get a “tight” nose. But it lasts and lasts. Several hours later, just one or two drops re-applied, bring out the spicy patchouli... and as if by magic, there is a touch of Jungle, and you fall in love with it all over again. A unique, elegant scent, a favourite, which I SO wish Givenchy had continued, just as it was.... UPDATE: even better in summer. For some reason warm weather makes this twice as good. Easily the equal of the Chanel I wore the previous day. Wow!

It is so good it hurts. Givenchy should bring back the entire Organza line - Organza Indecence, Organza and Organza First Light. They dress you in divine scent for entire year. This is a cinnamon dream but so much more with the suble rosewood, hint of patchouli and plum. It is a dream for autumn and winter but it is fit for entire year, especially in the evenings but today in the springy, sunny 14°C I am wearing it for a day and I am delighted. Now the Givenchy shelves at Sephora should host the Organzas, Ange Ou Demons, Very Irresistibles, Irresistibles and L'Interdis plus Amariges - including Amarige Mariage and Extravagance. One can hope. It lasts all day with elegant, private sillage. A delight. And it is not heavy but nicely substantial. A gem

Indecence appealed to me because I was on a kick, after becoming addicted to Gucci Rush for men, of digging no-floral-notes scents. And Indecence to my nose is also the ultimate gourmand in that it DOESN'T wind up smelling like a frosted cupcake, a caramel candy, nor a square of fudge. When I wore Indecence it drew more opposite sex compliments than any other I've ever worn before or since. So, when I ran out of my third bottle it was disheartening to learn that it had been discontinued. Now, the original is like Gucci Rush for men: at a premium. WHY, oh, WHY do so many perfume houses discontinue beloved scents? Even the Libra that I am could be happy with just Shiseido Feminite du Bois, Gucci Rush for men, and Organza Indecence. Le sigh. :(

This is not a review but I loved this fragrance, and still do. It was the perfume perfect on my skin. I need fine tuned noses to help me get a similar scent. The amazing thing with OI is that it not only sat on my skin so perfectly, it blended with all my natural scents. I have yet to find anything near to it that is compatible. This perfume was a breakthrough and I still don't know why it was discontinued. I have been unsure of what to buy since it was discontinued, since it was such an amazing scent, and now I have run out. Is it possible for fined tuned experts to help me out, with an appreciation of this delicate perfume. I so hope that there are noses out there that can help me. When I first applied this it literally could have knocked my socks off!!! That's just how good it is. Thank-you to "D" for sending me a very generous sample of this in it's original miniature spray bottle no less! Had it not been for her kindness I more than likely would never have been able to try it. I am admittedly not a fan of the original Organza but this one is beyond gorgeous. On my skin I can really smell the rosewood mixed with the vanilla and amber. It's so intoxicating that I can't stop sniffing myself! Such a crying shame that it's been discontinued. I will cherish the small amount that I have and apply it with a light hand so I can stretch it out and make it last. One of the best perfumes I've smelled, EVER! Simply heavenly.

This is so pretty it makes my nostrils weep. I got my hands on a mini for a reasonable price, and I've been wearing it all day. I particularly enjoyed the opening: it was very woody and dry, with a pinch of cinnamon. The composition then moved to a sweeter cinnamon-vanilla and now, 10h later, it's still going strong, with the amber is also present. The sillage is really powerful, so be warned! I hate that these great cinnamon-based fragrances have been discontinued (Kenzo Tigre, Lolita Lempicka L,Fendi Theorema...) because I enjoy them so much. Edit: I forgot to comment: I've also tried the new version. It's nice, but not as complex or warm, and the sillage and staying power are a joke compared to this one. 10/10

Oh. My. God!!! This is breathtaking!! I just received a mini bottle - part of a lot that also included minis of vintage Organza and Amarige - and I am blown away. I haven't even tried to break down what it is I am smelling yet. I'm not even sure I want to. I'd prefer just to think that it is just magic in a bottle. I really want a full bottle, but it is just so expensive at this point, so in lieu of a larger bottle, I think I am just going to stock up on a few more minis, until one day I take the plunge. BTW - Have I made it clear that I LOVE this juice? 😉 PS - is it just me, or does anyone else get a smokey incense- type note? Not talking Nag Champa, I mean something both sacred and bewitching at the same time.

Please please please help me! I need this in my life again.. I once had a tiny bottle but my neighbour took it from me when she was pet sitting. I didn't say anything because she was the one who gave it to me in the first place and I figured she likely regretted it. I didn't want to confront her about it.. and if it was anything else, short of the animals or my guitars, I wouldn't have cared.. but this... This is my all time favorite perfume ever. Mmmm :) I couldn't wait for the colder months before testing this out! This is nothing special to me when it's warm outside, but when it's cold, I love it! I have the original version and I agree with the previous reviewer: I can't smell any flowers in this one, just a bunch of delicious Christmas spices and woods. My boyfriend said it smelt like Christmas in a sauna (in a good way) X) To me this is a little like Dior's Addict... the original one. Addict is a little more milky thougha nd I use it when I want to smell of something equally warm, but a little more green. I think Organa Indecence smells such a way that both women and men could pull it off (the original version, that is):)

Je l'ai moi-même peu porté parce que j'avais une cliente très liftée, très implantée et très en fourrures dont c'était la signature. Et Madame était une très belle de nuit, avec beaucoup d'humour. Féminité du Bois with big boobs. No office correctness. The Lady is there and deserves your attention.She invades you with plum, cinnamon and patchouly. A pity it didn't have more success.

Got this online from a seller who probably had no clue what it was. A full 30 ml vintage bottle in perfect condition. For 18 euros, what a deal eh ! Blind buy based on reviews, never tried it before. Sprayed it on only about an hour ago, but i'm already in love <3. I'm not into really spicy perfumes, and was a bit worried this would be too much. Let me tell you, this is just perfect. The cinnamon is the star, but it's not overwhelming at all. It's very well balanced. A bit sharp in the opening, but gets softer and creamier as it dries down. Very cozy and warm. I have to keep wearing it to get to know it better, but seems like this lady is worth all the praise.

This is one of my favorite perfumes of all time. My grandma gave me this and I’m so happy i was able to get a full bottle of this after it got discontinued. It smells expensive, sophisticated, and vintage. It’s so warm and complex of a scent. At first spray, you get a spicy and fruity smell, but the dry down is incredibly sweet and warm. Not to mention, you only need one at most 2 sprays, and it will seriously last all day and more. I’ve been told you can smell it as soon as i entered the room, and even if i wash the clothes I’ve worn it in and can still smell it! Needless to say, if you can get your hands on a bottle, I highly recommend this perfume.

I absolutely had to make this my first review. This is the most incredibly sensual, beautiful, luxurious, magical perfume I may ever smell. So glad I have a full bottle left. They took this perfume off the market, then, due to the loud outcry, they brought it back...kind of. I hear it smells different. I have walked by it in stores, but not tested the new version yet. I will, but I don't want my heart to be broken about this for a little while longer. The prices on Ebay are starting to get pretty steep so I will be wearing this one for special occasions only going forward. This is my cold-weather "holy grail".

I have the original version, not the new one. So the review is for the real thing.This is a beautiful fragrance if you want sweet but sophisticated, not headache inducing cinnamony vanilla. It's quite long lasting and sits close to the skin. Perfect for colder days. I love it but it's still nothing like the original Organza. That one is unique, a statement making scent. This is a distant cousin and on me a lot LESS indecent than the original. The original is very sexy, this one is safe.Still beautiful. Some of you said it smells like creme brulee. It really does. Smells like a very nice dessert.

Realized my bottle was getting low, but I happened upon another gorgeous scultpure of a bottle of this precious warm, vanilla/spicy juice that has been discontinued. I love this so much!! I must always have a bottle. IT is the perfect balance of vanilla, spices and woods - my fave kind of scent. I find my skin eats this one a bit so I must reapply throughout the day, but I do so with a sort of masochistic joy... This sensual scent conjures compliments galore, especially from males PS - this is the original formula - I will never try the reformulated version :)

As a guy I bought a mini of this to try out, and I do really enjoy it. I find it annoying that Fragrantica doesn't have an option between "unisex" and "more feminine" to select for a fragrance, because this is where this falls. It is cinnamon heavy with a nice creaminess... there's not much more I can say. It's nice, stands out, but it's not especially interesting. It reminds me of Christmas. I've not tried the reformulation. I don't know if I'd buy a bottle since I already own scents like spicebomb extreme which already fill that gap.

I came across this gem in a pharmacy in a small country town while home for Christmas. It was love at first sniff, this is a real vintage beauty. I was pretty sure it was disconninued so I rushed online to look it up on here. Yep, that little pharmacy has no idea that some people would sell their kidney to get a bottle of this. I love that small town shops keep their old stock indefinately, you can find all kinds of vintage and hard to find perfumes. I might buy their entire stock over time as I come home for visits on the holidays.

Oh, I need to take a moment....I had forgotten just how perfect this perfume is on me. I wore this frequently after it came out, for many years, as one of my go to fragrances - Donna Karan Black Cashmere, Fendi Theorema, and this. It truly is one of my all time favorites. And after buying a small decant to revisit it, I just had to find a bottle of the vintage to own again. DONE! Cinnamon and vanilla, patch and amber, some woody notes and a soft clean musk. What's more perfect that? All notes that I love and I am in heaven.

Ohhhhh this perfume is divine! It reminds me of Shalimar, but it is heavy on the amber instead of the vanilla. This perfume is unreal! This fragrance is a smoky sweet cozy fragrance. It is the perfect Autumn scent as it has such a great balance of spice and warm ambery florals. I thought is was discontinued but I came across a bottle of it in Ulta, but the bottle has been changed and does not look anything like the original, but it does not matter the juice in that bottle could make any boring bottle beautiful!

I love the original shiseido feminite du bois and its flankers. Organza Indecence could be Bois de Cupcake. (I think Perfume Posse said that) There is that plum/cedar thing going with the addition of citrus, vanilla, rum, and yummy spices. It is sexy in a warm, inviting way. I haven't tried the reformulation but I have heard it is unbalanced and watered down. If you do not want to hunt down a vintage on ebay, eo01 Biehl Parfumkunstwerke has the vanilla/cedar/spices but is missing the plummy floral piece.

i forgot to say this is a bit different to just organza , as organza is more floral in my mind Indecence is more honey and woods but also just more beautiful than organza even though I love the first organza too this one is superior in so many ways and more sexy more gourmand version with the sweet sultry spicy hunny. Perfect for cooler weather u don't get much more regal and expensive smelling than organza indecence it's a beautiful fragrance that is sooo rich and elegant creamy and romantic ! 10/10

I bought this after reading the reviews on this site and again I was not disappointed when I bought this scent. I am not a perfume expert, in my humble opinion this fragrance is unique. At first you get a burst of spices, especially cinnamon, but the spices are sweet and beckoning. the dry down is sweet, sexy, delicious and edible. I love this perfume. It is a one in a million scent, it smells like quality ingredients were used to make it.Very different from perfumes of today. Thanks Fragrantica. :)

I have a half bottle(50ml) from 1998 and Im just trembling while spraying it. It has been my seduction scent for a while now and Im not ready to pay zillions for it on ebay. Anyway this aroma is a mother of gourmand perfumes. I sometimes use givenchy organza under it to give it that extra edge and add longevity and silllage. My 8 year old daughter thinks I smell like christmas wearing it. My husband associates it with sweetness of womans inner thigh:)

Bunu koklamayı çok seviyorum ve bir de yedek alacağım. Serge lutens -Un bois vanille ile çok çok benziyor onu da aşırı severek kullanıyorum zaten.

I did purchase it at a crazy price a few years back but omg..I truly regret not realizing what a gem this is long time ago. My first ever "real" perfume gifted to me by my mom, A golden sweet ambrosia that bursts with the rosewood and patchouli equally on first impression, settling into a warm spicy vanilla, rich plum and amber. An epicurean indulgence that will always remind me of growth, blazing your own trail and exercising self-love. Now it's discontinued, I have the dribs of my original left and the only thing harder than using it, will be letting go.

I've just tried this for the first time, and I am completely taken! It's what I've been looking for in every niche perfume I try. I just didn't know it had been around for so long, and now it's discontinued. It's such a good fit that I'm going to bite the bullet and pick up a bottle on ebay. It's just that good. The cinnamon is so smooth and creamy, and the wood and amber just wraps you up like a cozy, cozy blanket. Brilliant!
