Peur de Rien

There’s something incredibly special about revisiting one of the very first fragrances that made you fall in love with perfume, and for me, that’s Givenchy Peur de Rien. This scent carries so much sentiment. Every time I smell it, it feels like stepping back into the beginning of my fragrance journey, when everything was new, exciting, and deeply personal. What makes it so beautiful is its balance: soft, soapy elegance wrapped in luminous florals. The narcissus gives it this airy, almost poetic quality, while that fresh green orange note at the top adds a gentle brightness that feels like the first warm day of spring. It’s clean, but never boring. Floral, but not overly sweet. There’s an understated refinement to it that feels effortless, like freshly pressed linen in sunlight. As the weather starts to warm up, I find myself reaching for it again. It’s the kind of fragrance that feels alive in spring and summer, light, graceful, and quietly radiant. Some perfumes impress you... but others stay with you. This one will always be part of my story.

When I saw this discontinued perfume being sold at a really affordable price online, I blind bought it even though I couldn’t find much information about it. Oh my. This perfume is lovely. Smells rich and alluring. I smell florals and very little of the blood orange. It has a luxurious vibe and dry downs to a lovely sweet endearing scent. I sprayed once on my handkerchief 3 days ago and the smell is still very noticeable and extremely pleasant. I would want to snuggle up to someone who smells like this. Sillage is moderate and you can smell it in a room if you spray it in the air. On skin, it lasts up to 6 hours on me and on my clothes, 12 plus hours. I am enjoying my adventure of collecting discontinued perfumes and this was another big win for me. I would enjoy my bottle until the last drop. In the current array of sugar sweet scents, you will easily stand out in the crowd because no one else will be wearing Peur De Rein. I love the name too - AFRAID OF NOTHING. Blends perfectly with my audacious nature.

A hidden gem by renown perfumer Nathalie Lorson. I have many orange blossom scents and don’t find this one redundant. It’s juicy, fresh and green from the bergamot and tarocco orange, sweet but not syrupy or cloying, and has a sparkly luxury vibe to it. The actual notes are: Top- Bergamot, Tarocco Orange Heart- Narcissus, Moroccan Orange Blossom Base- Ylang-Ylang Where Sintra and Neroli Blanc Intense are girlish and playful, and Safanad their more serious older sister, Peur de Rien is the rich but understated young aunt paying a visit on her way back from France. Closer to Neroli Oranger, but with a little extra fizz and sparkle.

Remind me of my grandma that passed away. She used to love scents like this. Funniest thing is, Narcissus was one of her favorite flowers. This scent is a soapy one. Makes me happy and feeling clean when I wear this.

Has a cheap sweet shampoo (Herbal Essences) feel; no complexity from the narcissus, but still pleasant.

Too sharp of an orange for me... bitter and overall just not pleasant. I got it as a gift but definitely going in my giving away pile. :(

I think this has more notes. very powdery and sweet heliotrope and neroli... It is similar to Bvlgari Omnia Amethyst... The perfumer is Nathalie Lorson.
