Pi Air

Husband and I picked this up at the Navy Exchange so we still got a decent price for an expensive new release. I honestly wasn't anticipating him purchasing a cologne that day, and wasn't in the mood to try things. I'm glad this was what we ultimately settled on, because I really do adore it and its a nice addition to his collection. On the top its very bright, you get the ginger/neroli/lavender/rosemary classic fresh haircut from the barber flavor. As it dries down it does develop that warm/sweet/powderyness that the original has, however its more like a cousin than a twin. Id say its close enough to the original that its recognizable to be a flanker but it has its own personality. At the base you get the PI sweetness, with a musky edge to it. I would suggest those that find PI is too vanilla and sweet to try this. The musk tempers the sweetness. That day we picked it out, after smelling far too many other colognes on test strips when smelling this on my Husband I said "yes, get this one! Its like that powdery smell you get from the top of a newborn babies head, if that baby was held by a handsome man and his delicious sweet cologne was wafting in as well." Perhaps the guy just got a haircut! Ha! At any rate its intoxicating to me as a woman, love it on my Husband. Try it out Gents! It think your Ladies will love it!

Pros: smells great, relatively inexpensive, versatile, gorgeous presentation Cons: almost identical to the original, not projection beast I wouldn’t really consider this fragrance a “sleeper”, but I do think it’s underrated for what it is. It looks and smells “pretty”, which is why I voted this as a unisex fragrance, however it leans more masculine than feminine. Think Givenchy Pi, but less sweet and more fresh. It is noticeably “airy”, but significantly less gourmand than the original. Whether someone is wearing Pi Air or just Pi, you would recognize both the same way from the Benzoin note. I definitely understand the “dryer sheet” comparison, but it doesn’t smell cheap by any means. It smells and looks expensive, which is why I think it is a great value for its price point. It could perform better, but it has the word “air” in the name so you should expect something light and soft. Perfect for spring and summer, can be used in early fall as well ideally when it’s light out. Overall I would say it’s very worth smelling or finding a sample of, definitely worth the price if you do end up buying, and is a versatile, early to mid year fragrance.

Whenever I see negativity about a scent I compare the persons tastes to my own. In this case a guy who dislikes about 50 fragrances (which includes noir extreme, dhi, la nuit, MIP, and just about any sweet scent there is, then proceeds to do the oh-so-common "this is a grandma scent" whining) and only loves seven, two of which are the dreadfully boring and overused/overhyped sauvage and Aventus. As a lover of the original and a fan of the notes, bottle, and overall idea of a fresher pi that still has benzoin and musk in the base, I think I will give this one a chance. I'll leave a review in a few days when I've had the chance to wear it.

I sprayed it today along with original Pie. Without comparing both in front of you you could never tell the difference. However next to each other, this one is much fresher. Much more white shirt type of smell in the spring/summer. I really liked it but I also suspect this is Fraiche but in a new bottle and labeled "Air" even on the bottom it says Fraiche. For me , i already own two other bottles of the original so its redundant for me to buy but its a great scent and modernized for today's generation. Can't believe how long original Pie has been around, its one of my all time favorites.

One of the freshest scents to have ever been created. I shopped around for my first ever designer fragrance, smelling every single thing available at Macys (there was like 50+ I smelled that day). Out of everything, this one scent stood out unlike anything else. It smelled fresh, versatile, non-offensive and clean. Only scents that I own now that compete with this i'd say are YSL Y, and His Confessions by Lattafa. If you can grab this, i'd highly recommend. I just ran out of mine and have swapped it out for the other two scents I mentioned earlier.

Jax is hilarious. Dude, I bench 300 pounds. I'm 5'8 of 200 pounds of solid muscle. My legs are 2 solid tree trunks of muscle, And yaaaas gurl I wear Pi Air. (No I don't talk like that in real life, but wouldn't it be more fun if I did?) Anyhoo, this fragrance is like the God Zeus gently queefed and what came out was a mystical cloud of ginger, benzoin, and Paradisone. A soft delicate cloud from the heavens. So felch on that bottom boy. And while your down there worship my feet, for this is what a true Alpha male wears.

My first impression: This really does smell like a lighter version of Pi, the "vanilla" smell is still there, yet it's also very airy and fresh with just the right amount of sweetness. I would say this is comparable to Dior Homme Eau, Reflection Man, and other scents in the airy, floral yet masculine category. I actually prefer this over those because it's lighter and easier to wear. And no this smells absolutely nothing like Aventus

This one is a stunning version and I do not understands the dislikes. It's a big LOVE for me. If I could rate it LOVE, LOVE, LOVE over and over to make the love bar longer I would. I am very skeptical about this. I hope it's not a case line what happened to the newest Sauvage where everyone claimed to hate it at first and then later decided they loved it, Lol.

Take my review on the original Pi...take out some of the sweetness, add a little hit of neroli and a kick of ginger...throw it all in a hot air balloon, cut the rope and let it fly... That’s what you have with Pi Air. BEWARE: This one is a sneaky little character that waits until that perfect moment. Then, when she least expects it...VIOLA...she’s hooked.

Lovely summer scent based on the original Pi. My wife loves this scent. I tend to lend towards a heverier, deeper, complex frags but I do enjoy Pi and I think this is an excellent choice for hot ,summer, sunshining days. It lasts 5 to 6 hours on me and am pleased with the lighter, airy nature of Pi Air.

I just sprayed it on at Macy's. It has a fresh clean scent in the beginning then the rest it smells light a lighter version of the original PI. I think it would be great for the office, gym and close spaces. This is a spring and daytime scent.

One of my first dozen fragrance purchases, so this holds a special place in my collection. An amazing fresh, floral, airy opening and smooth dry down. I only have 1/5th of a bottle left after 8.5 years of ownership.

A man’s Sexy vanillic benzoin Opening/ mid- With the florals & benzoin I get the dryer sheet comparison (snuggles blue sparkle ✨).. adding the musk also gives deodorant spray vibes that is oak moss like ( could be the cedar creating this ). No ginger. The cedar I can’t distinguish, it’s not woody, seems to be lost in the composition of notes. It is soft, but with a ‘stuffy-ness’ in a 90’s early 2000’s way. Dry down- the stuffy moss smell mostly fades leaving vanillic benzoin. I like that it’s not trying to do too much here, just a pleasant scent. Huge silage. Comes off as a tad dated the first few hours, which is fine with me. Love my classics. I spray by bed sheets & the aroma is heavenly at night & waking up 🤤

Fresh like clean laundry. Neroli+florals. Seems unisex to me. What makes this a successful fragrance to me is that it manages to emulate the original Pi without using much of its DNA. There's no vanilla and no almond -- the two notes I associate with Pi -- but it still smells like a fresher interpretation. Pi Air is also aptly named. It's a fluffy, relaxing, airy fragrance. Definitely a safe blind buy if you're into neroli. Bonus points for an AMAZING bottle. Just gorgeous!

I really like this scent. very floral, light and airy. although it is so soft it has a very good longevity on my skin. It's a bit linear I would say but it is totally satisfying. I always enjoy hot weather scents that won't make you smell like you spilled a cup of lemonade on you. Although the juice is blue this is not a blue fragrance. it is 100% floral, with zero ambroxan!!! best for spirng and summer

I don't mind it but it, (like most recent summery Givenchy offerings) is very mild. It's definitely not Fraiche with a new bottle, as I own Fraiche & the juice is a different color, and the smell is completely different. I don't feel the citrus in 'Air' as I do my Fraiche.

Givenchy Pi Air. A blast of fresh spicy with a little hidden lick of floral hints then it settles down powdery and sweeter. This is perfect for hot weather/regions and everyone will notice you (If you care about that 😒).

Opens very fresh. Mid is a soapy floral scent which is absolutely gorgeous. Best part of the cologne IMO. Dry down is the original PI. I wish the mid lasted longer. Nice spring and summer scent. 7/10

A clever and catchy named scent that does not live up to my expectations. While Monsieur Morillas’ first attempt at making one of my faves fresher and lighter mostly worked, his second one leaves me indifferent. Pi Air has stripped the original of all the heliotrope vanilla flesh that made it so intensive and memorable and replaced it with all sorts of fresh aromachemicals that smell confused and well, cheap. Pi’s bones are still there but the aqua metallic accord that they need to function with is painfully inferior and the end result is closer to Pee air. As an admirer of Givenchy fragrances and an owner of 17 of them (this miserable thing included, at least it adds a colorful value to my PI collection) i am in my right to say that am bitterly disappointed with this venerable house recent crop. I hope the climate will soon change and better stuff will pour on me. **(***)

This was a blind buy for me as I love the original and the extreme and was interested to see how they were going to tone it down into a fresh fragrance. Frozen neroli and ginger? Yes please..I've only had it on for 10 minutes and it's my first time wearing it so I'm sure this review may be edited in the near future but initial impression is they have managed to give it a hint of freshness, especially in the top notes 5-10 minutes in, it starts to venture into the mid-notes and you start to pick up the rosemary, lavender and musk. It's still very pleasant but the blue liquid is a little misleading if you're expecting bright citrusy freshness. This is more of a laundry fresh smell for me, which luckily I like. People may hate on it, but I guarantee if it was released in the MFK range of Aqua fragrances (which it could easily slot in with) it would likely get more love If you read this Jax_1999 characters reviews they're almost all negative and almost all made him want to throw up lol...I don't know what qualifies him to tell others what an alpha male would wear (especially when he has Kim Kardashian Pure Honey, Chanel No 5 and Pink Sugar by Aquolina in his wardrobe haha), but if you're a secure mature male then you have nothing to worry about, wear whatever YOU like I think a lot of it has to do with what you're expecting. For me I'm always looking for more clean, fresh, office friendly fragrances that have a bit of personality and this works quite well, in fact the longer it's been on my skin the more frequently I find myself bringing my wrist up for another sniff 20 minutes in, I'm really enjoying this. I will point out though, unlike other 'office friendly' fragrances, I would go easy on the trigger with this one. I've only sprayed twice to the back of my hand and projection is average BUT I could see how overspraying this one could be annoying to others. 5 hours in this is still going strong off 2 sprays to the hand and I've washed my hands twice in the time For me this is still an autumn/winter scent, and whilst I don't usually count how many sprays or advise others how many sprays they should do, I would guess for best results this is probably no more than 4 sprays (2 to the chest under clothing and one on each wrist)
