Pi

Finally deciding to leave a review for Givenchy Pi. Growing up I was never that into fragrance. I didn't really understand why people were into things like cologne, perfume, buying shoes, things like that. As I got older and my style evolved and my love for fashion and art got stronger, I eventually realized that smelling nice was an art form itself. However, I never managed to find a fragrance that really spoke to me. Lots of traditional mens fragrances smelled overly alcoholic or sterile to my nose. That is until I discovered Givenchy Pi. I've owned at least five different bottles of this and have worn it for at least the last 10 to 15 years of my life. It is truly one of my all time favorite fragrances and I do not think there will ever be a point in my life where I don't own this. The opening on Pi is very floral and herbaceous. You get the Tarragon and Rosemary right off the top but it's blended with a nice hint of Mandarin and Neroli to help cut some of the harshness. As it settles, you start to get a beautiful Anise note that plays along with the Almond and Tonka Bean in the base. All of this is backed by a wonderful, powdery Vanilla that helps warm up the scent profile. Is Pi a unique fragrance? Not really. I'm certain you can find plenty of other fragrances with this DNA that do it better or have a more diverse scent profile. Pi keeps it rather simple, but for an EDT it doesn't really have to be anything more than simple. It knows what it wants to be and doesn't try to be something it's not. As far as performance goes, it's probably the only real drawback of Givenchy Pi. This fragrance does last a while on the skin, as I've worn this and still smelled it on my skin a solid six to eight hours after applying it. At that point most of the notes have worn away and you're left with mostly the Vanilla and a slight hint of the Tonka Bean and Mandarin. Pi will project slightly off of you, to the point where someone would need to basically be standing next to you to smell it. This can be nice, however it does fall off hard after the two to three hour mark. The longevity of this fragrance is pretty good but the sillage does not hold up long and really becomes more of a skin scent after a few hours of wear. For an EDT however, you kind of expect this to be the case. All of that being said, my main reason for loving this scent so much is all of the memories I have associated with it. It's the first fragrance I ever owned. I've worn this to weddings, I've worn this on dates, I've worn this to concerts and events. I associate this fragrance with going out, living my life, being in the world. It was always my go to scent and any time I smell this fragrance it reminds me of some of the most memorable moments of my life. To most people, they will not have the same experience with Pi that I do. However, that's what makes perfumery so special. We all have individual journeys we travel and the fragrances we choose to wear in those moments can invoke those memories for the rest of our lives. Realistically, if you do not own this or have never worn this, you probably don't need it. There's so many scents that have done this DNA much better and will probably have better performance. That said, it's truly a pleasant smell that you can find on places like Jomashop and Fragrancenet for dirt cheap. I will never not love Pi and will always encourage those who are even remotely intrigued by this scent to try it out. (P.S.: They make a Givenchy Pi Extreme. If you are looking at that scent thinking it is Givenchy Pi but with better performance, as I once thought it might be, don't buy it. Smells nothing like the original Pi.)

As far as I'm concerned, this fragrance has never really recieved its flowers. When you look at its scent profile, and put your nose to it, you would never think that it came out in 1998, it truly was a groundbreaker that provided a blueprint for a lot of todays current sweet gourmand type frags. Much like other mid-late 90's contemporaries that began pushing boundaries when it came to "masculine" notes and scent profiles, Pi can still hold its own today in the modern frag market. If this was as "dated" smelling as some broccoli haired guys on tiktok claim it to be, then it wouldn't be in production and sold at full retail in Macy's, Belks, Etc still. I cannot speak for current bottles being sold, but my 8 year old bottle is still a fantastic value when it comes to the overall composition, performance, and price! When I wear Pi, I typically wear it for both work and casual evenings out. I think every woman I have worn it around has always complimented it, and liked it when I sprayed it on for the night out. As for the performance, I easily get no less than 10 hours worth of solid performance, and a good 2 arms length of projection for the first 2-3 hours. The rest of the time, it maintains a good one arm length of projection. It's not quite a room filler, but it leaves a pretty dense trail, so most ppl will smell you at some point if you're in a room or medium sized space together. I bought my 100ml bottle over 8 years ago for around $50. Which even by today's current standard is a pretty good price. If you shop around at online discounters, this can easily be had for $40, or even less if you find a tester bottle for sale. If you're new to fragrances, I would say this is a must-have. Pi is a great entry into sweet gourmand scents, while being very versatile for evening or daytime use during the fall or winter.

I'm a great fan of Givenchy and currently possess the entire range of "Givenchy Gentlemen" fragrances, at expense!! But as a collector and consumer of fragrances, all twelve bottles were well worth acquiring, including "Givenchy Society." Anyway, I had to have Givenchy Pi (bottle No 13 in my Givenchy collection) even though this perfume is not in the same range as Gentlemen or Society, the bouquet being totally and truly out of sync with this range of fragrances. Givenchy Pi sits very sweet and deliciously alluring on me, its aroma is very 1980's, rendering that old "Hai Karate" aftershave appeal. Taking into account that Givenchy Pi is a designer fragrance, not an aftershave, it is very versatile. Givenchy Pi renders a uniquely pleasant and well-crafted oriental vibe, trying to chase down Yves Saint Laurent Opium Pour Homme and Pierre Cardin Monsieur, but Pi sits in its own class of perfection. Pi persistently renders a gifted, mysterious and moody musk nuance, yet fresh exhilaration that wafts through the air with a long, drawn-out ambience of oriental spice. I have some on the back of my hand, and I'm perpetually sniffing it, to say it's growing on me is an understatement! Givenchy Pi is a must-have, must-try fragrance. If you haven't got a full fancy pyramid bottle of Pi in your wardrobe, then why not? Just to note here: The bottle is a collector's item in its own right! It's a work of glass art, being really groovy and will be a difficult and stressful endeavour to throw out once empty!! Overall, Givenchy Pi renders an alluring, warm and comforting bouquet that your dreams just can't manage to capture as it's waaay too elusive, so you just wear more to keep the experience alive...and why not? Get Some Today!

The first time I used this fragrance was when I could barely reach into my father's cupboard in the early 2000s. I remember very well back then, the juice was quite dark. And not just that, the scent was much deeper and complex too. Reformulations have completely butchered the scent profile but it's still an absolutely unique fragrance in it's current form as well (my bottle is a 2023 made tester). Another Morillas banger from the 90s that seems to open with what seems like a summer fragrance, quickly evolves into a warm cozy, almost gourmand scent profile. The opening is fresh, spicy, aromatic and slightly green. Then this freshness blends with the warm, creamy vanilla and nutty almond and tonka combination that smells absolutely addictive. The backbone of slightly smokiness throughout the life of this fragrance adds a touch of elegance and sophistication. The performance has been butchered too although I can get upto 7-8 hrs on both skin and fabric in ideal weather conditions which is sufficient. I spray more on fabric so it can stick. And easy night time fragrance for dates or special events in all seasons except summer. I only bought this out of nostalgia and if you wish to try a slightly better performing fragrance that hasn't been reformulated a lot, you'd want to try the Pi Extreme.

I’m a woman who loves unisex fragrances, and I stumbled upon this bottle (with a pi) at a market quite by chance. I vaguely remembered reading wonderful things about it — and that many women enjoyed wearing it — so without thinking too much, I bought it. When I got home and sprayed it for the first time, I was a little unsettled. It felt very masculine, and to my surprise, it smelled exactly like another fragrance I already own — Minotaure by Paloma Picasso. For the first hour, they’re nearly identical; the opening and heart notes are almost the same. And since Minotaure isn’t a scent I enjoy wearing, I felt disappointed. But after a few days and a second test, I discovered that Pi is richer and warmer than Minotaure. The dry down is where its beauty lies — soft, enveloping, with that touch of vanilla and a delicate almond note that makes it feel both comforting and elegant. The more I wear it, the more I fall in love with it. It’s true that on my skin, it still leans slightly more masculine than feminine, but its softness and calm energy make it a joy to wear. This is the kind of scent you can trust when traveling — on a train, on a plane — anywhere you want to feel composed and quietly radiant among strangers. Pi is a beautiful perfume.

Very nice "different" type of fragrance I've heard people call this "gourmand" but I kinda digress, yes this is a fragrance based mostly on an almond-vanilla accord but to me it's more of a clean, mineral kind of scent more than something properly gourmand, (ergo, this doesn't smell like some Amaretto-Vanilla fragrance like a proper gourmand would) the performance is pretty good even on the current formulation 8 hours minimum of longevity (first time I sprayed it I got about 12 hours of longevity) after 3 to 4 hours the initial projection goes down to skin-close but trust me, the fragrance will still be there, and if your body temperature raises you'll most definitely notice it projecting stronger again. In my experience, on clothes Pi lasts a minimum of 12 hours up to 24 depending the number of sprays. Also, the current formulation isn't as sweet and heavy (cloying) as it used to be, like I said I percieve it more like a balsamic clean scent with an almond-vanilla accord on the back better than overly sweet, so as long as you keep an eye on your sprays it's a safe all-season option both day and night as long as it's not a particularly hot day. I think Pi is an undeniably perfect choice for me to give my first review as it's my signature fragrance. I've been using my beloved Pi for nearly 10 years now, and I should add that I had searched for it for more years than I've used it. The skin is the decision maker for this one. I can say that the smell varies on different skins, that's why I couldn't decide if it was Pi every time a person walks past as I was searching for it. The opening is not pleasant for everyone (including me). However, after a few minutes of marination on the skin and with the touch of oxygen, it becomes angelic. I cannot really describe what sort of trance this scent puts me in, but it's fair to say it's pure and blessing. I can feel the notes going through my nostrils to my lungs to make me feel peaceful. The projection is decent and the perfume itself is not very long lasting, but it stays on your clothes for DAYS if you wear it regularly. I get a lot of compliments but that's not a criteria for me, it's more important how it makes me feel than others. To conclude, it's very unique, nostalgic, but not worn off. Sophisticated, mystic and delicious.

This fragrance, is truly insane. If you are a man, and want to smell delicious, like an actual person magnet. Get this. Its not a joke. While perfume is unisex and that personally, as a man, all the smells i love are photorealistic gourmand (aka all i own smells like chocolate, vanilla and cookie batter), *this* is the end all be all of a perfect cologne, catered towards masculine people to smell intoxicatingly good without smelling like literal food. It smells so SO good. I cannot stress this enough. So many men's colognes smell pungent and aggressive, and stupidly synthethic. While this smells like someone confident, its got this warmth- thats really what makes it special. It has notes of vanilla, cedar, almond and tonka most notably. Anytime you wear this you will get compliments. Almost every woman in my life has complimented this and asked for what it was, im not exaggerating even a little. As for men, most typically do like it a lot as well. I swear this is one of the best things on the market catered towards men, but it is quite unisex at the end of the day- and would wear amazing on literally anyone.

If you've ever smelled a conditioner or soap with an almond and vanilla scent that would probably be the closest comparison i would be able to give to Givenchy Pi. It's pretty intimate in projection but lasts fairly long. Not super loud but a bit more sophisticated in a way. I feel a lot of people don't mention really just how versatile this fragrance can be. It's often listed as a winter fragrance, but I say you can wear it as long as it's cold in spring or maybe on a rainy and cold summer day. Of course be somewhat self-aware but don't be too scared. This is just a pleasant and pretty clean vanilla scent perfect for daily wear with a pretty different vibe from modern scents. There are not a ton of masculine scent notes so I feel most people can wear this, male or not. As Michael Jackson proved, it's not as much about whether or not it's a man or woman's scent and more about your style and personality. Would definitely recommend Pi and the bottle looks straight up like it was picked up out of the city of gold or something which makes it stand out.

When I first encountered this fragrance, my exact words were "this smells so heavenly, this is what I want on me at my funeral." Weird and crazy - I know. But, the smell was just so luxurious and rich I knew I had to have it. I will say this, smelling it on paper, I was unable to smell the opening. Now that I own the fragrance (big Pi symbol bottle), the terragon, basil, and rosemary opening smells so similar to a pine cone. Within minutes, the wearer and those within a 5 ft. radius will be enveloped in the rich, creamy sugary vanilla smell (reminiscent of a sugar cookie). After an hour or two, the spices fade into the background and an almond smell becomes present. At this time, the vanilla intensifies, so much you may think that a cherry note was thrown in the mix. I love this fragrance for its versatility, just be mindful of quantity when spraying this in warmer climates. I get 6-8 hours of this "vanilla butter pecan ice cream" and will recommend this inoffensive scent to any gender or age.

Givenchy Pi is a fragrance created by Alberto Morillas, which already gives it the seal of approval of one of the greatest perfumers in history. From the opening, it comes across as elegant, slightly powdery, ambery, and clearly vanilla-driven. As it dries down, the powdery facet slowly fades. Some soft sweetness remains, but it’s well balanced and never cloying. The result feels perfectly suited for cold weather: warm, smooth, and comforting without crossing into anything feminine. On the contrary, it feels intentionally masculine, refined, and mature. To me, this is a fragrance designed for men 40 and up, with a sense of confidence and sophistication rather than flashiness. It’s not trying to be trendy or loud; it’s calm, composed, and classy. Overall, it’s an excellent fragrance and one I would recommend without hesitation. That said, it’s probably not a blind buy—its character is distinctive, and it’s best appreciated by those who enjoy elegant, mature, vanilla-amber compositions.

I'm a guy who generally prefers mild, natural fragrances. I consider this to be an old favorite, though I use it pretty sparingly. I bought a 100ml bottle around 2003. I went quite a few years without wearing scents very often, but this has been my go-to whenever I wanted something on the warm side. I'll let others with more detailed noses call out all the exact notes, but it is a generally warm scent with subtle woody and spicy elements and a sweet, but not cloying, aspect running throughout. Over the years, the citrus opening notes seem to have faded a little but are still present. This may just be my memory thinking it was stronger though. At the time I bought it, this was one of the least artificial smelling masculine fragrances I tried. There are some slight artificial aspects, especially in the opening, but not enough to put me off enjoying this one. I don't remember exactly how much I paid back then, but it's definitely been great value and appears to cost even less now.

When I got to know it 20 years ago, it was an excellent chic and sexy fragrance with good performance and moderate silage. A not sweet and beautiful vanilla almond scent for men. As of now and after so many years it is still a masterpiece from Alberto Morrilias which affected a lot of other perfumes that came after it. However in reformulations the performance and strength is not as good as before. This caused other companies to abuse this piece. Superz Budapest Morocco which has been over-hyped with you-tubers in last months is a 100% colon copy of this great perfume which being a perfume extrait is a very long lasting fragrance with moderate silage. For those who enjoy Pi but want the old good one, Superz Morocco is exactly the same. How much I wish Givenchy could bring this great masterpiece back to life again and stop others to abuse it.

I think I am in love with this fragrance. Masterful creation. Smells high class and expensive. I can't believe it isn't like 200 dollars plus, it smells like it? It goes for a reasonable price. And how bout that bottle folks? Look at it, what a beauty. Leave it on your living room table and it can double as a centre piece or sculpture. Slightly old school today, but hey, old school is good nowadays. Sweet, sure, but not at all like the modern gourmand vanilla scents. This is Leagues above IMO. This is vanilla for men DONE REALLY RIGHT. On the money. The familiarity I smell in this which is the retro, I realized is Lolita Lempicka Au Masculin from the anis. But this is clearly easier to pull off. Legendary, need to get a bottle of this. Imagine it as a good night sleep, I had wonderful dreams with this fyi.

I had Pí Air before trying the OG(newer formula).. so this will be a comparison. Overall they smell ALMOST identical. Air: despite the name, ‘Air’ is denser. Calmer when applied very lightly. More Benzoin than tonka/vanilla, No almond. The florals create this stuffy Dryer Sheet effect (Snuggles Blue Sparkle). A bit more rugged & manly than the OG. OG: Equal parts Nilla, benzoin & tonka. Zero Orange. Almond shows up in the mid & dry down. Not floral. Tad herbal nicely mixed. Maybe just a pinch of cedar. Not that sweet really, except in hot/ mild weather. Medium density with good sillage. Dry oriental. Smells delicious start to finish. Masculine, if I smelled this on a female I’d still say she smells good, but would think she sprayed her boyfriends cologne on. 🤤 Cozy, comfy, lovable, very attractive.

Givenchy website lists the current 2025 formula as Woody Amber/Woody Fresh, and with the following notes: Top notes: Mandarin - Pine needle Heart notes: Infinium Base notes: Ironwood - Benzoin Crystals I find this scent very pleasant, it's totally unisex while leaning just a little bit to the male side. This makes it very agreeable and easy to wear, I believe everyone can enjoy the smell of a conforting vanilla custard almond pie. Besides, the price is fair on discounters and it's sort of a classic that is cool to have. I've Mixed with Raghba from Lattafa today (not over it, sprayed them both on different places raghba on the arms and Pi on the hands) and the "shock" popped up Pi's citrus/herbal notes - and I was able to appreciate the top/mid notes better.

Not only does this fit right in with the more contemporary offerings from many designer and niche houses, it actually beats them handily at their own game. Despite being created in the 90's, this is clearly a reference masculine, gentlemanly vanilla. Not overly sweet, not too gourmand...just right. It performs well enough to be noticed, but not so strongly that it becomes off-putting. Had a bottle many years ago, and as I revisit it now, I do so with much revised experience and expectations. This one has exceeded most, as it has held up well despite reformulation. Nostalgia aside, Pi easily fits into the fragrance landscape of today, and it does so while remaining appealing to young AND older wearers. For the price, this is an absolute steal.

Something special, something different, something sweet but still sexy, somthing not for everyone. Pi is a masterpeice, not for the guy who likes to smell like smoke and leather. This is a massive vanilla bomb of epic sexiness with a gorgeous statuesque bottle to boot! If overused it could become so cloying and suffocating so only a couple of sprays are needed to experience it's beauty. It's a massive sweet swirl of almond, vanilla, benzoin, tonka and sugaryness with just a touch of herbs and florals, yes...not masculine in the traditional sense but...metrosexual? It's right up my alley because I like things not of the norm. The power is incredible..check! It draws compliments...check! Just...gorgeous!

I'm lucky enough to have an old batch of this and let me tell you. It's phenomenal. One of my all time favorites. Alberto Moriallas killed it with this one. I haven't tried the *newer batches, but I'm on the precipice of running out of juice on my current bottle ( super sad ) so I'll have to get a new bottle soon. Pi is something that I've always gotten complimented on and always has been and will continue to be a staple in my collection. A sweet vanilla powdery bomb that projects with confidence. I would put this vanilla fragrance right up there with the best of them. And for the price, you cannot go wrong with this one. Givenchy Pi is so good, that for me, I'll wear this anytime of the year. 9/10.

I loove this one. It might just be nostalgia for me, but its still a very nice almond/vanilla scent. My father used to use this as a car refresher, sprayed it in his Volvo once a week and it was noticible for days. I myself think it leans towards male (like 35+, maybe even older), but i might just try this on myself this fall. Its more of a elegant scent to me, for going out to dinner, wouldnt use this in the office. Or as a car refresher in a Volvo (with leather seats) haha. Lasts for 8+ hours Milage is around arm length, but little bit stronger for the first 2 hours More elegant/evening scent More male, might try it on myself For 35/40+ Not too expensive Would rate it a 9/10

Pi is my get home from work, take a shower, and watch a show/movie with my girlfriend snuggled up on the couch scent. It does not have an exciting or wow factor that will get you compliments from strangers. Could you wear this at work? Sure, it is pretty safe and inoffensive. Could you wear it on a date? Yes, but probably not on the first date. Not that it is not a sexy scent, though I could think of 10 other colognes I would wear instead when trying to get someone attention. But it is a very nice relaxed scent, best worn for intimate settings. To me it is kinda niche when to wear it, but I use it every day and my partner loves it. I will always have this in my collection.

Imagine my surprise to learn this was a fragrance for men... my friend got me into this, easily about 15 years ago when I was a casual wearer and collector. I would go long stretches of not wearing scent back then, so the bottle I have is still half full. And I get tons of compliments every time! It’s sweet and rich, well balanced. She and I rocked this scent for years, yo..... Oh sure, everything seems to be unisex these days but I solidly thought this a feminine scent until my perfume “education” taught me otherwise. And I learned to stop limiting myself to what’s marketed only to women. Now I boldly sample everything, as a true perfumista should.

For someone who had been on the search for a natural smelling vanilla, here it is. A sweet, blended vanilla nuttiness, almost like a gourmand. It feels like I’m wearing the smell of a perfectly roasted marshmallow, or a almond pie fresh from the oven. The fragrance starts with some hints of orange before fading into the vanilla almond sweetness. This would be perfect for fall/winter or getting cozy on a rainy summer day. Immediate compliments. Although it does smell very natural and compliments well with skin, it is still very sweet so be careful to not overspray. If this wasn’t a fragrance that has been out for 25+ years I would gatekeep instead😂

This one has been my signature scent since the early 2000s. It's just a fantastic vanilla/amber/cedar masculine scent to my nose, never gets old and I always look forward to smelling it again. It's a smell that feels like "me"... isn't bombastic or going to assault someone walking up to you, but is smooth, soothing, quietly confident, alluring without being an outright "date nite" scent. To me, it's timeless. Will always keep coming back to it. My one criticism is that I wish it lasted longer so I could smell it more. I get like 2hrs of solid whiffs, then it recedes into the background, as it softly lingers up to maybe 8hrs as a gentle presence.

I first smelled this when cleaning out my late grandfather's garage, he had a very old Macy's sample that just smelled awesome. I ordered a newer bottle after that and its the same scent as the vintage sample if you're not an insane person; Its so slightly different. I'm really not sure why this fragrance got dropped by the mainstream, maybe it is the reformulation. I think its in the same ballpark as Boss Bottled #6. Pretty timeless, safe, and likeable. And I agree with the @EbagAppez . I've worn this many times in a college environment and received compliments. Certainly not dated. Young guys can wear this.

One of the best fragrances ever created!! One of my all time favorite scents and every time I wear this fragrance I get transported to the 90$. Gevinchy PI is still being sold today for a reason and I'm very blessed to have this in my collection and I also have a fragrance oil that smells 98% identical to this fragrance and when I layer the two together it's just fireworks 🎇. This works so well in cold weather and when the air catches it this stuff smells very nice to myself and others around me. 10/10 for me and if you like to be complemented on your fragrance then wear Gevinchy PI.

I can't think of a single good place to wear something like this, it's too fancy for lounging and casual wear, yet too casual for fancy occasions. What the heck! Not to say the smell is bad at all, it's actually a very pleasing unisex vanilla with ambers/balsams giving woody depth. The subtle aromatic, floral, and almond notes shape it to smell more embellished, like a fine fragrance should. Performance is alright, it's not loud but it doesn't "cling" either, great intimate scent bubble. Projects modestly for a few hours. Price is amazing! Goes for under 50 USD on discounters. 7/10

One of the greatest fragrances ever created!! Perfect fragrance for Fall 🍁, Winter ❄️ and early spring 🌼. I love the opening with that orange herbal blast I get then it dries down to this sweet almond vanilla that I love❣️. This last on my skin and clothing all day no problem and this classic gem can be purchased on discounter sites for 50.00 for a 100ml bottle which is a steal given the quality of this fragrance. Gevinchy Pi will forever be in my collection!! 10/10 classic fragrance 1998 was a excellent year for me and this takes me back to those times each time I wear it .

This could well be mistaken as a vanilla and boozy Prada l'Homme. Powdery, rum vanilla. But a mature, low-key vanilla. Perfect for a date night as well as a fall/winter office fragrance. If Prada l'Homme is your go-to warm-weather work scent, you might try Pi as a cool-weather change up. The only drawback is Pi's intimate projection. Though lasting all work day, the fragrance nevertheless sits close to the skin, so you'll really need to overspray this one to make an impact. But at its extremely affordable price, you won't break the bank or risk offending by doing so.

This is a very unisex scent to me. I wear it often and proudly, and think it smells delicious. It's gourmand but also has a sexiness underneath from the subtle herbiness that makes me feel like I am wearing a love potion. It doesn't smell medicinal but it does have an underlying woodiness without it going too deep into Christmas candle territory. The vanilla is creamy and inviting. The almond adds warmth that is spiced by the anise. I find this fragrance very inviting and while I have never smelled it on a man, I imagine it would smell wonderful on both sexes.

This is more than just simple vanilla/powder. The almond accord touches on the beauty of the Guerlain L’homme Ideal line. (Definitely check Guerlain out.) The other notes give an almost lite ‘spice like’ quality to the scent without being too strong like saffron/oud if that makes sense. Every time I wear this I’m reminded how beautiful it is and why I love it. I will keep buying this as long as they keep making it. Soft but full, warm, and gourmand. Simple perfection. I expect nothing less from perfume design master, Alberto Morillas.

Love this. It smells beige/light brown to me, so I love to wear it when I wear a beige colored outfit. Almond, vanilla. I get a lot of compliments when I wear this (don’t be afraid to overspray this one). Unisex scent, because it’s not flowery sweet and not woody. I think you can definitely layer this with a woody scent to make it more masculine, layer it with a floral scent it becomes feminine. Inoffensive, but not boring and still ‘different’. People know you thought about what fragrance to wear when you pick this one.

Soft, creamy, nutty, delicious. Smells like play-doh in a good way. Good boy scent. Sweet in the opening, vanilla in the drydown but don’t be afraid of the vanilla, because it doesn’t smell like a vanilla candle at all. It really smells masculine on a man, you don’t want to impress but you still make an impression. Good boy scent in my opinion. On a woman it also smells really good, confident woman who wants to smell confident but not take up a room, because she doesn’t need to. But up close it’s yummy.

This was my very first fragrance from before I was even interested in perfume. I have really fond memories of it. The scent profile of mellow vanilla and tonka bean with a bit of orangy citrus is still one of the most comforting to me. I remember once in high school I was wearing this when I hugged my crush and he said I smelled like pudding. Objectively this is probably more of an autumnal scent, but my experiences of it are always in the summer. The memory of this fragrance to me is warm and joyful.

@SPNKr "So it turns out all the π lovers haven't smelt Jaipur yet." False. Jaipur is one of my all time favorites. I still love Pi. It’s much less spicy. Sometimes you don’t want all the spice? Are you saying you don’t detect it? Menardo vs Morillas is irrelevant when you can literally own both fragrances. Yeah Menardo is far closer to my taste, but again, I’m buying the scent, not the perfumer. Morillas also created Journey Man, Gucci Guilty Absolute, which literally YOU praised lol.

Beautiful classic that is still worthy of purchasing. The combo of vanilla and rosemary are magnificent and will be the main notes you get in the air. Easy blind buy especially for the price. Longevity is not the best (older batches were way stronger), but again for the price just spray a little heavier than usual. Might not get the performance you would want in the winter, but all year round signature scent worthy for sure Scent profile: 5/5 Longevity: 3/5 Projection 3/5

I scored an unopened bottle from 2003 on Etsy. Damn if this doesn’t take me back to a completely different part of my life. I had a bottle when it was first introduced, and loved it, but never went back to it for some reason. Such a careful balance of sweet vanilla and earthy notes. I also love the shot of almond. Just such a well-rounded, warm, masculine scent that still feels modern. It’s old school without feeling old. Great memories in a bottle for me!

Açılışı kesinlikle yoğun ki kimileri sentetik demiş hak veriyorum ama koku tene ve kıyafete karıştıktan sonraki o verdiği tatlı koku... Sanki anneniz fırında kek pişiriyor ve o kekin kokusu tüm evi sarmış gibi nostaljik ve çekici. Uzun bir süre onunla aşk yaşayacağım gibi gözüküyor

I was expecting to appreciate another classic acquired taste, but it really doesn't smell its age at all. It fits right in with today's "gourmands" without being too cloying or dense. Not super unique by today's standards but man, it's comfy. I like it a lot, and picked up a bottle because for $40 why tf not. A great, simple cozy cool day wear. EDIT: The bottle I picked up has a distinct baby wipe note. Sad.

In my opinion, this is one of the sexiest fragrance ever. It's a simple yet captivating blend of sweet metallic almond and vanilla, balanced by a distinctly masculine undertone. The scent is soft and alluring, yet incredibly long-lasting on clothes. I won't go into details, but I've noticed people react very strongly to this fragrance that it scares me sometimes, especially in hot weather. Crazy stuff! 🙈

One of my all time favorite male perfumes. It's deep, perfectly balanced between sweet and spicy, and has the nicest powdery feel I've come across. I'm both sad and thankful that it's not more popular, but that makes it all the more special. It could use a rebranding, as it's quite unisex and I enjoy wearing it every now and then when I want a bolder scent. There will always be a bottle in our house.

Gorgeous. The best men's vanilla I've ever smelled. I need it immediately. Very unisex, but I'm glad it's a men's release. Gutsier choice than casting the broad unisex net. The way the base notes blend is nearly a Guerlain level of seamlessness, while the florals and anise in the heart compliment without clashing. Absolutely gorgeous scent. Gorgeous is really the only word I have for it.

Timeless comes to mind when wearing this, definitely not modern but is not old either, a definite musk mandarin / vanilla power, shocked to see longevity taking a hit I find this has an okay projection for 6-8 hours 3 sprays is enough and more would be overpowering. I can see this fragrance being great for blending. Something different, affordable and off the mainstream - 8/10

@crx it's very hard for the base to go bad and the top remain... Generally it`s the opposite that happens. Top goes sour, but base remains and sometimes get boosted. What you might be experiencing is some sort of fatigue from a previous woody/vanilla/sweet fragrance you been wearing. If you had too many, they might change how you perceive the base - and pop up the top

I think it is one of the best perfume I've tried so far. I mainly get vanilla and almond, sometimes a hint of anise which is great. Some other times, when sprayed on skin it gets very soapy/clean smelling which is extraordinary. It does have a aromatic herby freshness to it also to balance the sweetness, but mostly in the opening.

A tonka bean in all it's glory, supported by a high dose of benzoin, giving it's vanilla tones but it's definitely not vanilla. It's still has some freshness with the mandarine at the top. Armani Code was highly influenced by this release. A classic that fits both sex, super longlasting, sensual and cozy. a must have.

I don't believe this to be dated or old. Such a wonderful amaretto and vanilla. I could see how it could get cloying so go easy on the trigger. Probably best suited for fall and winter, but I'd pull this out confidently on a cool summer date night. Maybe nothing over 75 degrees. Great scent.

Well done for creating this Givenchy, this scent is one of a kind. I still wear this 28 years after its release, amazing as a day scent during Winter, Fall, maybe spring too. It has leather, vanilla, Carmel, little tobacco and manly . It still captures the best era for Givenchy men.
