Play For Her Intense

Love this perfume, have tried in on my skin several times now and will definitely purchase a bottle very soon. The smell to me is like Kenzo Amour intensified and upgraded (this is what I expected Kenzo Amour Le Perfum to be, but it wasn't). There doesn't seem to be vanilla amongst the notes in Play Intense, yet I swear I can smell vanilla. The sillage and the staying power are amazing. I had a spray on my wrist, took a shower and the scent was as strong as ever hours later. Amazing! The original Play is not at all to my liking (even though I usually like light floral musky scents). Play Intense smells much much better to me, it has in fact a place in my Top10 list of perfumes. Can't wait to buy it. Update: Bought this one yesterday. Absolutely love it! Sweet, powedery, woody, with a touch of peach at the top... Yum!!! Very long staying and the base is very strong, so the perfume smells fresh even after hours of dancing and sweating (tried this yesterday, he-he). Definitely prefer this one to the original Play version (light pink bottle).

I have been so very lucky in my thrift finds lately! Today I found a very full, is bottle the correct term for this container lol. $30CAD no tax, plus an extra 20% off because it had a big scratch, yeah I was grinning like an idiot. I remember a holiday party at a very cool hair salon, and smelling this and complimenting the most stylish woman I’d ever seen at that point in my life, on her scent. Truly magnetic. I hadn’t had a Dark fragrance myself, wasn’t that confident then. So well blended. So mysterious, as I find many Givenchy’s manage to pull off. You need to plan to wear this purple powerhouse, be in the mood to be moody & broody;) Side note, also scored a Givenchy Y necklace, gunmetal with black and grey crystals, excellent condition, will go perfectly with the frag:) $5. Plus a 30ml full Poison $8. Serious steals! A great day indeed

I'm sorry, I have to say it, but Flowerbomb couldn't hold a candle to this! I'm so so glad I've tried this on my skin. It rocks! It has an awesome smoldering thick sweetness. Deep and sensual. Not synthetic and candylike at all. It's warm and it makes me want to close my eyes and breathe deeper. It is quite delicious - not edible - but nonetheless. Great combination of notes. Tonka, benzoin, pink pepper, patchouli. That's what I smell. A smooth rich vanilla bean sweetness, spicy, a little smoky, a touch of earthiness. Goodness. It doesn't smell anything like Hot Couture No. 1, but something about the way it wears and makes me feel, reminds me of it. This is going straight to the want list. The sillage is good, but it seems to fade a bit quicker than most other Givenchy scents. Beautiful dimensional vanilla.

I recommend this for a party. It is my fav to wear at a party or at the club, it has a great lasting and sillage and, like the name says, it's so playful. I bought this one several times, it was once something like my signature, I'm now at the 6th bottle of Play Intense. I never had the original Play ( the pink one) but I sniffed it in a perfume shop and I find the Play Intense better. I see lots of people here voted this perfume as a "winter night" perfume, I agree, but I also wore it during summer nights and it was a perfect fit because it may seem to be too strong at the beginning, but after a few minutes those sharp notes at the opening get lighter. Anyway, if you want something that tells "I am a free spirit and I love to play", you should get this one.

A former roommate of mine had a candle (or perfume, or detergent, or SOMETHING) that smelled exactly like this. When I smelled it for the first time today I cried out that it smelled like her! It brought back some happy memories of living in Florida and it will be the next "have to have." I mostly didn't buy it today because it didn't smell right until I'd walked away from the perfume counter with Thierry Mugler's Angel instead (not unhappy.) I always thought this scent (or what I remembered being just like this scent) was violets, but I might be picking up on the strong orchid scent. I also read musk and a powdered, soft patchouli. It's strong, and stayed on my skin for hours. I think I know what I'm getting for Valentine's Day this year!

I like different scents, mostly sweet but if the there is that " something" in the flowery ones, or the green ones, I go for it. Powdery is my friend as well;) That's why I never could guess how my signature scent would smell like. I knew somewhere there was one.Play Givenchy was that kind of scent, which you smell accidentally at the store and then you got this terrible feeling that there is something very different and interesting about that one. This is what happened. I smelled it, and I thought: that's me:) I wasn't the last person who thought so. I have heard it many times and since one year, Play Givenchy Intense is my signature. Longevity... just great Silage: very noticable it is sexy modern but elegant. Just perfect.

Another user described this as blueberry pie with a side of pepper - I had never thought of that before but now that I just sprayed it, I really agree with this description. I love this fragrance - it's warm, yummy and fun. I'm on my second bottle and I'm so sad that Givenchy has discontinued this line. I love Play Intense for winter and fall and Play EDT (with apricot notes) for spring and summer. Both bottle designs are meh - seriously a bottle that looks like a phone? Despite the bottle design, the juice is a favorite of mine. I also liked the Play EDT for men - that was a great one that never should have been discontinued. I hope Givenchy brings these both back.

This smells like some other scents I own. Tried to identify the ones very slightly closest in my collection seemed to be The Body Shop White Musk Smoky Rose and Lancome Tresor Midnight Rose. At first sniff I was impressed. But that faded soon and few minutes on I was left with something quite common. With progression, fortunately I got whiffs of edit: my favourite notes of balsamic sweet pea, pink pepper, bergamot, tonka, sandalwood. It is not unlike its og version, i love both its versions. The weather is much cooler today and this is reminding me now of a much better fruitier, floral and youthful version of Eternity Flame. I'm loving it!

I have been conquested. i remember when this one came out, in my country it was cold winter. I have always love parfumes made by Givenchy so I told myself why not to give it a try..smell of his was very tempting but longevity poor - just two hours. So I let it go. in late spring I got it as a gift, so I had to try make friends whit it xD yesterday I put it on and it stood by me 5-6 hours.regards it is oriental floral I recomend to wear it on semi-warm night. late spring, early and late summer. it is powerfull scent, intense one. and the bottle is real candy. . all in all my grade for this one is 9/10 :D

Powdery Dark Sweetness with a Hint of Vintage.... I only have a tinfoil sealed tester, but some of the top notes may have evaporated, and the notes are listed differently on the tester packet: "Floral Woody Amber: Orange Blossom, Amyris Wood, Tiare Flower, Sandalwood, Patchouli, Benzoin." This isn't a sticky sweet scent, and has a more velvety powdery woody sweetness. I'm getting a powdery dark sweetness, with a hint of a vintage vibe in the drydown, that reads like baby powder, vanilla & tolu balsam. Very wearable. Enjoy!

Just an added note on the longevity of this perfume-- This is the longest wearing perfume I own, so the negative reviews about the lasting power are baffling to me. I use about 4-6 sprays before going out (I live in France, people use a lot of perfume here!) and it lasts me foreverrrr. I seriously have great sillage all night. One day I woke up after a big night out and it was around 2 in the afternoon.... a few hours later I went out and got lunch. I could still smell Play Intense coming form my wrists!

Devastated that they don’t make this anymore. I’m trying to make sure not to use one I have too much as trying to find second hand ones has been a nightmare. Really nice for night time, especially in winter/autumn. Quite dark and musky, pretty long lasting too especially if sprayed on clothes rather than directly onto the skin. The bottle is also still probably a favourite of mine, the MP3 player shape is just a classic and I wish more bottles played with looks like that.

This is one of my favorites. FFS, Givenchy, bring this line back, the people are speaking! I received a bottle as a wedding gift in 2014, and am cherishing every drop, knowing I can't replace it. Soo decadent and delicious, especially nice in cool weather. It's everything I love, sweet, creamy, spicy, with some intoxicating heady florals. Mmm. I can do without all these generic light inoffensive skin scents that seem ubiquitous, this is the good stuff.

Balsamic, sweet, woody, creamy goodness. Beautifully blended, nothing sticks out too much.To me it smells like sweet tobacco and hot, dense air. When I inhale deep enough I smell a spark of freshness (woody, cold freshness) and creamy white florals. Smells even better if cigarette smoke is in the vicinity which is probably the product of my scent memory (I wore this beauty in my clubbing days). Perfect for evening wear and dimly lit spaces.

This smells so similar to the dry down of Black Orchid, but Play Intense has more of a vanilla scent due to the Tonka bean. This is a sensual and warm fragrance appropriate for night wear or winter days. I have to add that after trying Jimmy Choo perfume today, I was reminded SO MUCH of Givenchy Play intense for her. They are sooo similar! If you have Jimmy Choo, you don't need this perfume. Both are delicious, however,

Love this much better than the original Play. The original Play could be likened to the quiet girl at school, who spends most of her time in the library studying. Play Intense is the loud-mouthed cheerleader who has a ton of boyfriends and is out partying all night. Lol (No, I'm not knocking cheerleaders.) If you found the first one too light, try this one. :D

I think the name does it justice. Sexy, creamy and balmy. The combo of tonka, vanilla, benzoin, orchid is dreamy. I rarely find orchid that works with my chemistry. The patchouli is very subtle and perfectly balanced. It projects well, but sadly, the lasting power is a couple of hours only.

sexyyy -yes flirty- yes seductive- yes i love this. it is a somewhat simple tad bit complex fragrance that just makes me happy and makes me feel on top of the world w/ sex appeal. gotta love a perfume that boosts' your ego. can be worn all year round in my opinion. sex kitten :)))

I loved this when it came out, but I fear it has been through a reformulation (already? It's only been out since 2010..) It used to be quite rich and spicy, the current formulation is more floral and less musky. It's sad. It used to smell a lot like Estee Lauder Sensuous Noir.

When I first sampled this I thought of another perfume that I love, Lancome Miracle Forever. I know this has no Vanilla in it so perhaps the Tonka Bean is what smells similar. This to me is so much stronger than the original Play for Her.

OMG I'm in love with This scent.It put me in such a good mood after smelling this. No fragrance has ever done that to me. This is a very nice inoffensive patchouli/floral fragrance. Givenchy did everything right with this one.

I absolutely love it & everyone around me too. It's a bit spicy & yet soft. I've come about other perfumes that smell similar but this one really balanced the notes perfectly.

To me, smells like sweet potato jam. I love this perfum, it's delicious!!! (Sweet potatoe jam is a typical and delicious dessert in my country :-) )

Very nice perfume,very simular to jimmy choo.but more powdery and less sharp.Intense,certainly not.A little dissapointing considering its price.

I really like this Givenchy ́s perfume. It became my sigature. It lasts all day on my skin. I get draw compliments when I ́m wearing it.

This is the best perfume I have ever tried and had. LOVE this one! And I definitely miss it. I also wish it still was around.

A spicy peppery sexy smell that turns heads, it is just incredible, it gives you peps, please Givenchy bring it back.

Smells great however it is an almost dead on duplicate of Hilary Duff With Love. Both of them last forever....

I was right, this is much deeper than Play (I like it better) and has a very incensy, oriental feel. Givenchy calls it a woody floral amber and has torchwood (amyris)right on the tester bottle and packets, yet it is not listed here...strange! I like the bottles for the women's PLAYs and to me they feel solid and modern and the silver bumpy border makes it easier to hold onto-it reminds me of a remote control...and the rich purple color is gorgeous! This begins with the light sweetness of peach and softness of orange blossom spiced with pink pepper-nice but not too sweet or heavy. The heart is very floral with a lovely orchid, subtle magnolia and the tropical air of tiare; torchwood has a very unique scent and is very detectable here, keeping it a nice woody floral. In the drydown phase this truly becomes something wonderful! Sandalwood and patchouli give it an oriental air while benzoin and tonka keep it warm and smoothly sweet. This has a very sweet spicy feel and the flowers and woods and aromatics are very well blended and though it is called Intense it is not as strong as a parfum, just a different deeper version of the original...yummy! Sillage: good Longevity: very good Overall: 3.5/5 My best girl at my fave frag counter gave me like 15 single use samples of this and I really like it! I've been trying to get away from any too overtly feminine scents, but this is going to be wonderful on a mild autumn day, as it is a lightly spiced woody that will shine in fall's cooler temperatures, but has the floral body and light fruit that will remind one of summer and has just enough warmth to work with long sleeves and sweaters...

On my skin the sweet orchid and other floral notes mix nicely with the equally sweet pear and sandalwood, creating a pleasant, grown-up floral-fruity fragrance. Not your typical FF for teenagers, if you know what I mean. However, this would've been a bit too bland to release under the name 'intense' so the creators added quite a lot of patchouli and even more balmy notes, hoping it would add some depth, mystery and darkness to the fragrance. Well, at least that's what I get on my skin obviously. I find this one very pleasant, but it is not for me because being around strongly balmy scents for too long gives me massive headaches and nausea. They just suffocate me ;-) It also isn't very original, but it's definitely modern just as the original Play. I definitely see why it appeals to so many ladies, especially the younger ones, who look for something a bit more grown up and dense, without getting into the ever-popular vanillas or risking the old-school perfumes which may be a bit too heavy or even smell 'dated' to them. Overall it's a nice oriental floral, certainly suitable for the evenig, but I guess that on some people it could turn into a nice day scent too. Sillage and longevity were very good on my skin. It lasted all day and I could still smell it in my hair the next day.

I tested both Play and Play Intense when they first came out, but couldn’t recall either fragrance capturing my attention at that time. I recently retested both, and do have to say I prefer Play Intense. Although the notes are similar, they are not simply the same scent at different concentrations. Intense has a resinous and slightly medicinal feel, making it a little more mysterious. It is deeper, smoother, warmer, and much woodier. Play stands in contrast as the lighter, sweeter and more floral cousin. In Play, the sweet pea I assume must add to the lighter, more playful “bubblegum” quality that others have mentioned. In Play Intense, I don’t smell the peach...I get no fruits at all, and no candy-like qualities in general. The individual notes are not clearly distinguishable. On the one hand, this quality does seem to add to the cozy warmth of the fragrance. On the other hand, the way that the notes blend together leaves me feeling that Play Intense is lacking something - some focal point or slight edge. While I imagine Intense would make a comfortable, warm fragrance for cool fall and winter days, I don't feel compelled to add a bottle to my wardrobe.

A sweeter composition than the original Play. This should have been the representative of Play for Givenchy. It really adds everything my nose is craving from the original Play, more sweetness and the intense base notes. It smells like a perfected and more woody version of the original. The sandalwood is not intense here unlike in the original, the tonka and benzoin are also bolder here, they add depth. Pink pepper still steals the show and the white florals are still strong. Thank God it does not turn masculine on me, it never did - I dont wanna smell like a dude. Perfect for winter. the pink Play is lighter and the sandalwood can turn me off at first but its ideal for summer/spring. Overall this is still a fav. It does resemble the original Play, its just alot sweeter and mysterious. 10/10 Update. My bottle has expired for sure. The pink pepper comes off too woody almost dusty reminiscent of VW lovestruck Floral Rush at first. I still love this perfume tho. I wish they'd relaunch

Givenchy play intense .. The bottle is modern & stylish with the purple color & silver edges, I like those bottles which are without a stopper, easy to use & to carry in your smallest bag, or even purse. The notes (Generally): strong Patchouli, young Orchid, sugared peaches mixed with the stunning breeze of orange blossoms & floral notes, melted into the sweetness of the benzion, the warmth of Tonka bean and the royality of sandalwood) then spiced with the naughty pink paper.. _____________________________________________________ delicious sweet, spicy, intense, dark and attractive.. In my opinion not for any woman.. Lasting power & sillage are good but I expected more from an intense version .. To be used at night, hanging out or clubbing.. I am in love with you Play intense !

got this today as a swap and i'm really happy to have this now in my collection! it smells similar like chanel allure sensuelle to me but way softer, smoother, without that heady patchouli note. play Intense is very well blendet and sooo mysterious... wow! the patchouli is detectable here as well but not way too strong fortunately. tiare and orchid are prominent in this and the benzoin-tonka drydown is very balmy, the sandalwood very earthy. kinda intriguing... can't stop sniffing my wrist... def. a winner ! staying power and sillage average (close to the skin). that bottle is stunning :D ps. wish it would last longer as strong as the top and heart which are fading away quickly to a faint scent, quite weak for being a intense scent :(

This alongside Stendhal's Elixir Noir have that perfect nostalgic essence of Y2k to me! like the perfect aura to dust on berry/plum shade lip gloss, pearly lilac colored nail polish, very elegant, silver short heeled strap sandals and glistening yet subtle, body glitter and something positively bimbo-esque like a tooth gem or a toe ring :) A crisp, soft floral with undertones of some type of polished woody facet... you know? something in the realm of CK's Euphoria. not by mere resemblance, but by aura. I'm telling you... very Y2k! wore the original EDP pink bottle in my high school years as it was a gift, which I did enjoy, however can't deny I always lusted over this deeper, darker, smokier essence of this specific sister...

Oh wow! This is some gorgeous stuff! Sensual but soothing, sultry yet comfortable, all round great Autumn/winter fragrance with two of my favourite notes, tiare flower and sandalwood. It's not sexy in a "night on the tiles" kind of way, more of a "waking up smelling slightly of your lover's aftershave" affair... My only problem is *drum roll please"...the God awful bottle! Come on, Givenchy, you gave us the elegance of Organza and the classic simplicity of Very Irresistible and now you give us this tatty lump of plastic? You're GIVENCHY not Claire's! I can't be too harsh though, you do smell delish!

This is a whole different scent when it's applied on paper and when on skin. On my skin it's way less floral and more foody/fruity, than on paper. First I smell mostly a very creamy balsamic and sweet background with a nice floral note. But then... is this BLUEBERRY PIE? The more to the drydown, the more I smell this blueberry note mixed with sensous heavy benzoin/vanilla (still can notice the floral note but just in small amounts). Very pleasant, but a little less unique. Still.. I added it on my wishlist, because it's one of the best gourmands for my liking.

I'm baffled at the reviews. To be honest I've never smelled anything like this before. People likening this to flowerbomb /amour (the HELL?) /addict. Are you for rillz? I'll guess they were Just joking. This is heavy balsamic and creamy. More dry and flowery than the play edp. When I spray both of them on each wrist this comes off as a more heavy and cloying scent. I've found my rather old bottle of this gives a weird lactonic smell that quickly goes away. I've had both of the play versions and I love them. They're unique.

Hmmm. Having tried Play yesterday, and Play Intense today, I don't find a lot of difference between the two, but the original Play smells slightly better on me. Play Intense is a little sweeter and ... oilier? The heavy, sweet phase in the middle lingers longer. Seems a bit more evening/winter than its sister scent. As with Play, it's nothing we haven't seen before, but it's pleasant. It has excellent longevity and lasts 12+ hours. Overall, I think I prefer the powdery dry woods of original Play to this sweet treat.

I was enthralled to see the advert in Venezuela with Justin Timberlake. I bought this on the strength of also JT's recommendation, as it appears to be profoundly sentimental to me. It is a salicylising fragrance, opening mellow, deep and heavy sambuca, subliming upwards to give a note of lemon, and dispersing downwards to emit the scent of a good summer wine. Very interesting, different and unusual. Reminds me of a good and precious time in my life, Trinity College Dublin hotel stay last Autumn. Bravo!

When I first spray this it smells like sour sherbert, very sweet with something sharp in the background but this only lasts for about 5 minutes. The intense sweetness fades as the pepper and tonka bean kick in with the orchid, patchouli and Sandalwood and these remain on me the predominant notes. The other florals are not distinct but lend a subtle floral hint. I can easily wear it in the day even though it is a strong scent. It definitely has that certain something for me. I think I love it.

So I had to try it because I liked the scent of Play for her very much but it had no sillage or longevity. I must say, this one has quite good sillage and longevity but it's not as good as Play for her. It's not bad either - it's deliciously sweet and pleasant. Only a little too strong at first. So nothing is perfect - one is lovely but too weak and the other is strong but not as good. Still, both are decent and wearable.
