Very Irresistible Eau de Toilette

This is one of my favorite fragrances❤️ I'm at my third bottle, but the first two were the 2003 formulation, and because I couldn't find it anywhere anymore I've decided to give this one a go. To my nose, they are almost the same, with minor differences almost undetectable, like this one is a bit sharper where the old one was a little softer and rounder. It's not a loud rose like you would've expect it to be and I'm glad that this is not a 'in your face' type of fragrance. People called it blunt, generic, a disappointment, bug spray even but I find it to be quite the opposite! It's a delicate and subtle anise-rose scent, a bit powdery with a spicy-aromatic kind of vibe to it, very romantic and elegant! I missed this one so much and I'm so happy I have it again in my life, this puts a big smile on my face! ❤️❤️❤️

I love this scent. I have been looking for a fragrance that has slight mintiness to it without it being masculine or overpowering and I never considered to look into fragrances with anise. This is exactly what I imagined. The only downside is that I find it to have a very weak performance on both my skin and clothes, unless if I am slightly nose-blind to it once it dries down. I was surprised because most reviewers here say that it is long lasting on them. I have other fragrances that are not very long lasting (Chanel Chance Eau Tendre EDP) but I will still smell them close up on my clothes, sometimes even the next day. This one I don't even smell a couple of hours later. If anyone knows of something like it that is comparable but lasts better, I would appreciate the suggestions. Otherwise, beautiful fragrance.

Mmmmmh j’adore tellement ce parfum! Un fidèle compagnon! Il est parfait en toutes saisons, légèrement sucré, son odeur est exquise vraiment. Rose et anis juste terrible! Il a une tenue parfaite et un Beau sillage. Pour moi, c’est un classique moderne, on ne peut pas faire de faux pas en portant celui ci.

First of all, I call BS on "told by several people I smell like a bathroom." Lol! This is a beautiful, fresh, modern, happy floral with some light oriental twists thanks to the patchouli and anise, apparently. Great for summertime. For an EDT, a little goes a long way, and lasts for most of the day.

This is one of my favorite fragrances. The opening is very nice then it settles to a skin scent. It's a delicate and subtle anise-rose scent, a bit powdery with a spicy-aromatic kind of vibe to it. Very elegant and beautiful fragrance.

It's versatile, long lasting (I got 8 hours out of it, and subtle throughout the day), and not overwhelming at all. The anise makes it unique, too.

The name says it all for me. This was love at first smell. Lemony fresh verbena, spicy star anise, soft rose, and earthy patchouli. Just fabulous!

I think the 2012 is wrong .. It's the same bottle and juice as always This is my absolute favorite !

What is the difference between this version and the EDT from 2003?

The opening of Very Irresistible EDT is a blend of strong star anise and rose with a hint of citrus, which has a strange warm and animalic feeling to me. After 2 hours, star anise fades from the scene and leaves rose, verbena and patchouli play on their own. At this stage, these 3 notes above are easy to discern and the whole scent smells green and refreshing. I can also detect a subtle sweetness, which amplifies after another 2 hours and strangely turns the whole scent like a mixture of honey and lily while remaining soft and fresh. This final stage reminds me of similar combo in some Mugler fragrance such as Dis Moi, Miroir, A Travers le Miroir and Angel le Lys, and eventually fades out with a more herbal twist after another 2 hours. I somehow has a similar experience with Givenchy Ange ou Demon, as they both has a pleasant base hiding under an animalic top notes in my case. The sillage is close and the longevity is around 6 hours. It has a discret elegance like other Givenchy fragrance that I have experienced and I really like the base stage, but the effect of the top notes on me makes me remain skeptical.

Can't even remember how I decided to order this one, whether it was from a review or what. It is not popular in the areas of the perfume internet I frequent and I am not usually drawn to bright pink bottles. Anyway, somehow I came to own a mini of this, and I like it. I wear it most often as a bedtime scent. Definitely a fall/winter/spring, think it would be too much in the summer, with it's muskiness. I do not enjoy straight-up rose scents, so this works well for me. My guy really really likes this one. If I were to wear this during the day, it would probably be just a spray or two under my clothes. I'd wear something casual, like well fitting jeans, a white t-shirt, a blazer and boots. Makeup would be heavy mascara and blush, with a neutral balm on lips. Nothing flashy, but pulled together.

This is my default work fragrance. If I forget to put on a fragrance before leaving home, then I grab this from the car door pocket thing. I find it to be long lasting with quite a heavy silage for an EDT so I keep it to a maximum of 2 sprays. I can agree with the soapy and fabric softener comments below, but it has never given me toilet freshener vibes. I have had people walk by the office and ask if it was an air freshener, but never any toilet specific comments. Then again maybe they were thinking it but not saying it... I don't know. In my opinion, it's matter of scent association. For example, cinnamon reminds me of toilets because of a particular college roommate who used cinnamon air freshener in the bathroom a lot.

Beautiful, sensual, unique! Such an interesting, softly spicy, softly sweet rose with a twist. Although not cloying at all, as sometimes the more original takes can be. Very feminine, very attractive, Truly irresistible. I've got quite some compliments from men. It's one of those perfumes that are light and almost generic, but at the same time a statement enough to be a signature worthy scent. The rose in Very Irresistible is on the pink side, it's a soft, mellow, slightly fruity-sweet rose. There are some additives which make it smell more dewy. Anis is very well felt. And of course, the verbena - gorgeous, sensible pick instead of the usual bergamot.

Interesting. Takes a little while to get to know this one, as the gummy rose, the lemon, and the minty undertone don’t immediately coalesce. But I like the aromatic nature of it, and the slightly camphorous-bordering-on-medicinal quality. When I like it I really quite like it. Editing to add that I don’t think my husband is a fan. Without knowing I had just sprayed something, he began saying there was a weird smell in the house. But I’ll still wear this sometimes, just maybe not when he’s around...

This was a surprise! Sprayed on paper my first thought was "alright ... smells like a decent body lotion". On paper there wasn't much development. Sprayed on skin after a few minutes it becomes a warm, clean, sensual scent. I usually don't like rose but this is beautiful! The verbena gives some freshness to it. The rose and anis blend perfectly together. Absolutely office appropriate. Very clean, very feminine. Perfect for every day, especially in spring!

This was the very first perfume I bought for myself (back in the mid 2000s) and my new bottle is just as lovely as I remember! I love how simple and recognizable the notes are. Anise has always been one of my favorite flavors, and while I love roses, I'm not always a fan of them in perfumes. However, the pairing of anise and rose in this perfume is refreshing, feminine and great for everyday wear. A little goes a long way for me, which is also nice!

I like this but it’s not knocking my socks off. It’s an easy reach for daytime or casual wear . It’s fresh and bright and generally pleasant. The opening is a bit sharp for a couple moments but that goes away and gives a bit of a citrusy soapy scent. The star anise gives it a touch of spice and if I smell it up close, I don’t know how I feel about it. In the air, it’s much more subtle and pretty. It’s a nice fragrance but don’t stand out much to me

This delicate fragrance has a casual, yet charming character. It is perfect for an easygoing Sunday lunch or an afternoon stroll. Besides the rose, I perceive a light spiciness and even some aquatic notes. To me, the drydown is mostly a light and non-musty patchouli along with an evanescent muskiness. This perfume‘s softness will most probably not turn heads, but it puts its wearer in a happy mood.

It's a fizzy, pleasant fragrance. By looking at the bottle, you would assume that the rose would be chemical and sharp. It's not, I mean for suuuuuure this isn't natural rose, but it's well blended. The fragrance doesn't say anything, it doesn't have personality, so you could easily wear it anywhere, anytime as a dumb-reach scent.

I am glad I did not expect a rose scent, because I would have been so disappointed. I like this scent, but I cannot love it because I cannot find anything remarkably distinctive about it. The use of anise makes a subtle difference to similar spicy floral fragrances, but I am not very good with subtlety.

Throughout my entire childhood to today, my mom always wore this as her daily driver, since it was relatively affordable and nice smelling. Definitely a mass-appealing fragrance, and while I personally don't wear it, it smells nice on my mom. A bit nostalgic for me.

A friend gave me a sample. It is a quality smell, but very neutral, 'mainstream' there's nothing special about it, no individuality whatsoever (as well as in earlier editions,IMHO).

I sprayed this and immediately thought... bug spray. But kinda more in the vein of that Skin So Soft stuff your mom used to slather all over you as a kid. Then I read someone below me compare it to baby wipes and that’s definitely more accurate than my first take, but there’s still something a little oddly medicated to this. Closer up to the skin it smells of a very soapy rose, but the scent cloud that lingers is straight up baby wipes and vintage bug spray. Not my style or preference. If I’m gonna go rose, it’s gonna be a smoky, jammy one - like Velvet + from Commodity. This is a pass for me - 0/10.

I've had this on since about 8 this morning, and it's quite warm and humid. (Keep that in mind, as I'm sure it would smell differently if it was cooler and less sticky!) Absolutely no rose, patchouli, or anise: just Dr. Pepper. It isn't wholly unpleasant, but I've just spent the last fifteen minutes trying to determine what the perfume reminded me of, and there's my assessment. I do very much enjoy anise as a note, as well as most roses, but I have no desire to smell this on my body again. Tip of the hat to those of you who wear it well, but I can't do it.

This and the edp smell just like a public women's restroom on me (this one even moreso than the edp). I picked up on the weird smell myself but I didn't want to feel like I'd wasted my money on two blind buys so I wore it anyway for a few months. After being told by several people that I smelled like a bathroom, though, I finally decided to call it quits. I'm so sad, because the notes seem gorgeous and clearly it agrees with just about everyone else's skin and noses on here... It's just not for everyone, I guess.

I think it's quite mature scent. I sense a lot of rose, some spices and very fresh type of patchouli. So, it's floral, fresh and spicy. It also seems to me that, it's musky. Very Irresistible line has some more appealing fragrances. This one is light, but not very easy to wear. A bitter and strong rose scent. Not one of my favorites.

after first spray it makes me feel smelling a bug spray. i am sorry... and then here comes the heavy rose with spices. a huge dissapointment, didn't match with my chemistry. (i'm fair-skinned.) had it last summer, couldn't fnish and now keeping just as a piece for the collection. - no idea about edp version -

Very Irresistible EdT starts with a chemically flowery splash of "clean" smell... not as in "soapy" clean but more of a "fabric softener" clean. This might feel comfy and warm to some but it just makes my nose itchy. To be fair, it's not particularly a distinctive rose "flowery" so I'm still able to wear it past that point. (disclaimer: I usually don't like rose notes) Right after that initial splash, the most prominent note for me is anise and not a strong anise at that. It's more like a "what's that different note I'm getting there" anise which makes you keep sniffing to the point you sneeze. I'm from Mediterranean, and this anise certainly doesn't remind me of our local "anise" spirits nor anise as a spice, it's not the exact star anise note I might get in other fragrances either. But rather brings back an olfactory memory from my early childhood, of the times we had visited mum's extended family in the countryside and slept at that big old house's porch. It reminds me of a scent surrounding us all and hugging me in my sleep(or at least a muted version of it). A security feeling and a peaceful smile on my face which was amplified with the summer breeze carrying the scent of the freshly harvested anise stored right below the porch. After a few hours you are left with a powdery patchouli/rose base that is extremely close to skin. But that fabric softener feeling never ceases. I wear this only at home and mostly to bed; when I want a fresh, calm, and clean sleep after a bad day out in the world. I can still detect the powdery last bit lingering on in the morning. So it's safe to say it has a long-lasting effect on me, yet the sillage is so soft after the start that I'm the only person to detect it. You can also get a smile and a murmur of "you smell nice" from someone sleeping next to you if they hug you tight, so there's that.

I may be going crazy, but my nostrils capture much more notes that this perfume seems to have. Early on I feel a delicious warmth, which does not correspond to Anis, but a vibrant Pink Pepper and here it is associated with some other more spices, which give a cool temperate leaving the fragrance with a different opening. With a time after the Anis proves quite leveraging the sting of output, it is tickling the nose with its dryness is eminent that no body can stand it / take it, no. Perhaps, Anis, with pepper and spices largely responsible for a good part you can not use it, I bet on the combination of these notes here and without fear of error. The interesting thing also is that in its evolution he did vaguely remember the dry down the fearsome Sicily D & G, that oily mixed green banana nuances, only in Verry Irresistible EDT that footprint is assabonetada, pungent, dense and safely Lush . In the base notes appear Roses and Patchouli, the roses here are fresh and are very real, gives the impression being macerated in front of him, and Patchouli is herbaceous and green, fresh too and nothing aggressive giving a tailpiece and support for that the fragrance lasts for many, many hours on the skin. Although not a hyper innovative perfume, worth the existence of his creation to be a distinctive floral aroma that adorns the color of your bottle! Word of the day: resignation... (day 86)

Very Irrésistible Eau de Toilette needs a moment to grow to it's potential. Immediately after spraying, it's boring and flat. Given a minute or two it opens into a fresh, slightly herbal, lemon scent with delicate clove. The rose follows, and it's quite clean, soft and elegant. Even the patchouli is very light and fresh and delicately portioned. Very Irrésistible EdT is lighter and fresher than the EdP. The EdT has fewer floral notes and those notes are much lighter - there's none of the weightiness of the peony. The EdT has a bright freshness that makes me prefer it over the heavier EdP. Very Irrésistible EdT comes across to me as the perfect scent for the morning - brunch with the family? Church? Volunteering on a Saturday morning? Very Irrésistible EdT is a perfect fit. It seems to be in the same lane as Jeanne, by Lanvin (entirely different fragrances but similar in weight).

This started with a whiff of lemon, then transitioned to a very "pink" rose on a bed of white musk. The white musk is the style that I have a hard time smelling at times; like looking at something out of the corner of my eyes, I have to sniff this slant-wise to get a good sense of it. Going in or out of the house on a hot day changes the scent enough where I smell it afresh. As it dries down, the anise becomes more prominent and gives it a bit of a powdery smell. I kept trying to put my finger on what this reminded me of, with the rose and powdery anise, and then I realized that it smells like Ellen by Ellen Tracy. Compared to Ellen, though, this has lighter sillage and less longevity as it is fading about 3 hours after application. A pleasant summery scent.

It's one of my favorite June scents - fresh, floral, spicy - but not overwhelmingly spicy. This perfume shows that any deadly tool (like anise) used properly, can become a treasure. Below it was compared by my Honorable Friend to Aromadisiac - possibly they are slightly alike, but while Aromadisiac is really sweet and cozy - so rather a winter perfume - this one is the summer variant - not as sweet, but rather fresh and floral, whith a hint of anise. Personally, I once confused it with Eternity when my colleague wore it and when I was unfamiliar with it - due to the floral freshness. It's a gorgeous anise-rose perfume for self-confident, romantic but energetic girls who know well what they want:)

It’s pretty, but nothing remarkable. I’m working through my testers/samples and this was in my “not very interesting at first sniff” pile, and that’s a pretty good spot for it. It is a nice, soft floral and it does have a little bit of a twist to it with that faint anise. On me it is staying very close to the skin. I don’t really get ROSE in a big way, it’s more of a generic, delicate floral. Not anything I would buy a bottle of. Perhaps if I worked in a different environment and needed to wear something very subtle with no sillage but still wanted to feel pretty and feminine, this could be a good choice. Very unobtrusive and safe, IMHO.

This is one of those perfumes where the notes and the resulting scent make zero sense to me. I don’t smell anise or patchouli at all. The very first moments smell like straight up baby wipes to me, and within a matter of about 10 minutes the scent morphed to a creamy, lotion like fragrance. There’s maybe a hint of spice, but on me I guess this is mostly a rosy verbena perfume - and I really like it. It’s strong enough for just a spray or two to last most of the day, but isn’t overpowering as long as it’s not overdone. This is a good perfume for daily use, nothing extraordinary, but it works for me!

A very feminine fragrance of sugared roses, with fresh aromatic notes, an infusion of roses petals, as an iced infusion of rosebuds and fennel with a touch of vanilla sugar. The fresh lemony note is maybe the verbena, and some fresh soft spice (as tic tac anise or anise chewing-gum). Love this timeless fragrance. I don't smell patchouli at all. More a roses scent with a fresh air note, a pleasure between freshness, wellness and greed delicacy, sensuality. An explosion of feminity. Yes, this perfume is Very Irresistible, full of compliments !

This used to be my signature scent many moons ago. All of a sudden, I really miss it and want to have it again. I got to like it as a happy accident almost. A friend of mine gave me her bottle, as it was a gift that she didn’t like. The minute I smelled it, I knew this was for me. It’s a very dreamy, delicate rose scent that has a citrusy sparkle and sensual, romantic anise dry down. Not a safe blind buy. I am not surprised Liv Tyler is the face for this fragrance- it does reflect a bit of her mysterious charm, fit for the Elvish Queen.

I have just got hold of a sample of this and I love it. Admittedly I love the rose scent but I also love star anise, some patchouli scents and the verbena. They make a great combo creating a scent that is fresh and for me addictive! It has reasonable sillage and lasts 4 or 5 hours on my skin. I think I have found my new summer scent.

I got a sample from my cousin during my holidays, and I fell in love with it on my sunny skin. It settles pretty soft on me after a moment, and stays long on my neck and clothes. It is very aromatic yet subtle at the beginning, then turns into soft petals with a hint of something warm. Definitely the 'expensive smelling' fragrance.

I got a sample of this in the mail today. When reading that it was EDT instead of EDP, I was quite disappointed - I want a perfume that you don't have to keep spritzing throughout the day. However, with this perfume, I kind of like how the scent fades into a more subtle, lighter scent. I think this will be a great summer scent

Oh so gentle, oh so soft. The rose is there, but very very soft. It is nice, but not for me. I need a little more punch with my perfumes and eau de toilettes. A very gentle, sweet person would love this scent. It does give you a soft and gentle cloud of rose and star anise, but I personally find it too bland for me.

I am very meh about this scent..if you are expecting an obvious rose scent, you won't be getting this..its rather sweet, with a hint of powder and I could barely smell the rose I tried this on numerous occasions but this is a definate no for me..so far I haven't smelled Givenchy scent that I was fell in love with

Toilette is light pink bottle and original is violet. And the new rose is pale pink. I've tried it again. It's gucci rush 2 copy. I'm happy I've found something similar, nice and chic perfume, hint of vanilla and some slight rosy. Unfortunately it lacks that freshnes gucci rush 2 has. And smell is less intense.

I think I wrote my review on the edp version. This is soapy. FULL of soap. It gave me a raging headache and made the lining of my nose and throat sore. The only perfume I've had to go and wash off in a hurry before it turned into full-blown migrgraine. Must be the soap.

I find a freshness not usually associated with rose fragrances. A bit “minty” to my brain. I’m sure there’s an accord of more interesting facets than is listed here for the notes. Reminds me of a summer rain. There’s a reason this has stuck around for so many years!

Received an EDT sample with another perfume I bought. Very disappointed. Generic floral. Couldn't pick out the anise and the rose wasn't distinctive enough to sing out ROSE. There are probably hundreds of floral fragrances like this. So that makes it boring.

There was nothing plasticky in the old og version. In this there is a burning plasticky scent. They almost ruin it- it is a very very fainted version and now you can not even find it amy where.

What is the difference between the boxes of old and new versions? It's just because i' don't know how to distinguish these two versions on the store... Thanks
