Iconic Gold

I bought a Gleam sample set on sale from so avant garde. I'm only mentioning them because of the 50% sales they have periodically on Gleam, Gritti, Banana Republic etc. Anywho, I fell in love with Iconic Gold. Probably a core memory that I can't remember that kept me sniffing. I wore it over a few weeks and knew I needed to get a full bottle (50% off) if it wasn't I probably would of just got a 10 ml decant. It is sort of an animalic musk not too much just enough. Then I get the sweet tonka and slightly spicy warm nutmeg mixing in. Powdery essence in the background. I get the incense and it blends so well. I love patchouli, leathery, earthy fragrances, so this hits with me. I feel this is unisex right in the middle. On clothes lasts 6+ hours on MY skin 4 hours. Reminds me of (cousins) Jusbox 54, Cheeky Smile, Filthy Musk BTSO* (siblings different dads)*. I have a feeling this could be a winter fall staple.

95%of the time I hate musk, especially if it is front and center. I won’t say it is front and center but it shares equal billing with the ambre and spices. The incense is evident at times but to my nose it morphs between leather then incense on repeat. I also detect cloves. There is a little dirt here a la Guerlain. This is so good. It has an old fashioned feel. It smells nothing like either of them but Gentleman by Givenchy and Iris Bleu Gris by Maitre Parfumeur et Gantier come to mind. I suppose I find them all effervescent. So far projection could be a little better but boy does this smell good. I would be lying if I I didn’t say this puts me in the mind to jump on my wife after dousing us with this. The Sandalwood is hiding in the background and I don’t recognize the tonka but I do smell the sweetness. 5 hours in the incense really stands out. This is really really nice. Get your nose over this says I. 6 days later. After a few wears the musk is more and more evident. It is not listed on either page but the musk in here is not dissimilar to accords found in Empiryan and Patchouli Nosy Be to me. So if you like this give those a shot. This is the only one i’ve tried from Gleam but i can expect some great stuff from them since this is amazing. Beautiful musky vanilla and soft incense with tons of spices and calming effect from the sandalwood. If you’re looking for a unique but mass appealing winter scent make sure to check out this one.

I’m sorry, this is disgusting. It is EXTREMELY musky! It’s so bad that I had to immediately change my clothing! So so so bad!!!! I didn’t get vanilla from this at all. Just heavy musk and smoke. It was an immediate no for me. Total blind buy fail.

Someone PLEASE review this fragrance. A few comparisons too, thank you in advance.
