Reverie

Here is the stuff of which fairy tales are made. This is an unforgettable perfume, like purple fairy tears in a bottle! An etherial and diaphanous essence of the most refined quality. Reverie means daydreaming, something I do a lot...and what a dream it is! Honestly, I don't know how they managed it. It doesn't reflect the notes at all, this is not fruity or spicy or a true gourmand but powdery, pearly, enchanting and witchy...smells like white magic! The color of the liquid and the swan crystal packaging fits it perfectly. This perfume has hunted my memories for years, I have had three bottle in total during my life and I just found it again with a touch of luck...or maybe it was written in the stars...since never a scent as dazed me as much and I first purchased it by chance (actually by a proper mistake). It was only after my history of makeup and style studies that I discovered it was a favorite of the late Princess Diana. I kinda understand why...it has a princess allure about it but it is a much malinchonic version of that. Dare I say, tormented? It conveys a beauty that is hurtful, a sense of deep fragility and innocence, proper of a person that looks at the world with stupor. The opening is not fruity at all in my experience, the soapy peach comes more in the middle. There is surely a sweet blend...you can feel that, but it is light as if it is immaterial, it sourrounds the rest, truly well blended. A soapy touch is present too in the opening, bergamot and some aldehyde like material makes this shimmering and airy, it is not soapy to the level of Dolce&Gabbana (red cap, one of my old fave). Orchid, Jasmine, Cinnamon and Iris are mixed in the most moving celestial blend, you can not truly smell one ingredient but only the result of their coming together, and to me it smells like a violette confetti without the sweetness, like some quality of fig honey but without its weight, and like the most rare and beautiful flower essence. Then comes the most beautiful powder ever...that kind of powder that shimmers and radiates from your skin, almost supernatural...more soul touching then that of Guerlain (yes, I said it). Dry down is a blend of cinnamon powdered sandalwood with sweet confetti like tonka, good quality and natural smelling vanilla plus a profound cedar extract, a cedar that smells "white", like a joung sweet wood, much creamy. I can feel musk and amber too in the mix. The cinnamon gives effect but is not recognizable as such, the blend is not much spicy at all and even peopole who despise cinnamon can wear it. It is a 90's composition and smells like it, no doubt about it! But it is more then then just classic 90's peach (a là Coty Exclamation). This has soul of his own, they don't do powdery or sweetness in this style anymore... it has the glory of old. It's true that it gives a vintage allure to the wearer but like all vintage pieces it can fit a modern aesthetic if well blended with other elements. Imagine wearing this at night, with a simple/minimalistic Marc Jacobs silky dress, some Jeffrey Campbell platforms plus modern jewelry and makeup, maybe some duo chrome shimmering eyeshadow...it could be splendid, you will look whimsical and enchanting, like a modern lunar urban fairy! It performs wonderfully on me despite being an edt, almost like an extract...I really can not understand how it is possible...maybe the swan glass version is an edp after all; it projects beautifully leaving a magical trail behind me, five peopole stopped me in a day! It remains on my skin until the day after. I cry thinking this could be my last bottle, and I now need that Reverie Pure flanker! I think on this rare case (an that of Love by Chloé) I would even be content in having a "dupe", like the one made by Divain but no one is intrested in replicating it! It is not so well known...but all for the better, more bottle out there for me to hunt.

Stunning! These two great noses made this fragrance simply stunning! On my skin it feels like succulent juicy cherry sprinkled with cinnamon :-) with an echo of an orchid flower and tonka creamy finish. Feminine mood uplifter without being totally gourmand. Oriental - fruity elixir which blends beautifully with my skin. Best suited for office and casual Saturday :-) Cute bottle (I have 15ml handbag size and will certainly buy more!) Quite rare nowadays, so let's get it stocked up :-) EDIT: Applied last night and I can still smell it on my wirst although it has been more than 15 hours since then!!!! Most of my EDPs wouldn't stand up to that challenge!!!

Reverie was created by Christine Nagel and Francis Kurkdjian (one of my absolutely fave noses) and was launched in 1999 (i love the soft retro alike style in perfumes of the late 90's). so i had to purchase this blind. Reverie is indeed a bit retro alike, very powdery but the aroma is pretty and modern. soft fruity floral accords with hint of spices on a soft woody base, still powdery. a gem from the past millenium. staying power very good, sillage very good, i catch almost soft trails of powdery iris and creamy tonka. a clean and sexy one !:D

Very close to LouLou Blue! Easy to love if you enjoy that type of fragrance. Powdery sweet plastic doll head! Interesting that this is an FK collab. Smells all Nagel to me! Interesting to smell their nascent projects. So glad I added this to my Vanderbilt collection 💜

chocolate, vanilla, tonka bean mixed with jasmine and violet with hint of peach, and a powdery drydown. imagine of vanilla mixed with the smell of choclate coated parma violets. gourmand for sure. precisely that smell.

I've bought two bottles today and I'm now in love...It's like travel to my fairy dreams. Looooooove. I'm really happy because I will be able to buy more!! And it is discontinued. I'm feeling lucky!!!

Oh Rêverie! How I miss this scent! Magnificent scent from Christine Nagel and Francis Kurkdjian, trés feérique indeed! This is a beautiful scent, from the fruity top notes and the drydown based on vanilla-tonka-orchid with a hint of cinnamon. A truly gorgeous gourmand perfume that make me think of a time of innocence... it was one of my first perfumes (i think it was my second perfume). I repurchased again by the time I was 18 and since that time (6 years ago) I've never see this fragrance on sale. I think it's discontinued wich is a shame. This one is a true gourmand gem, dazzling and really magical, trust me. I miss this one... I hope I find it online, I would love to own this one again!

Non senza difficoltà sono riuscita a procacciarmi questo profumo che, pur essendo assai lontano dalle cose che mi piacciono, è stato creato da due dei miei nasi preferiti, cioè Christine Nagel e Francis Kurkdjian. Si tratta di un profumo commercializzato nel 99, e degli anni novanta conserva e ben rappresenta l'allure caratteristico. fiorito di orchidea e gelsomino, sfiora territori gourmand con sottotoni di fave di tonka, vaniglia, cannella e cacao, pur mantenendosi decisamente floreale. l'assestamento è, piuttosto, polveroso di iris e lievemente fruttato. non male per stare nella mia collezione come indicativo di un periodo preciso, a me piace anche se non è proprio il mio genere.

this opens powdery and floral with a hint of peach. i get something slightly animalic underneath which surprised me, then it gets woodier and a bit spicier. it's mostly iris, tonka and sandalwood with hints of peach, cinnamon, etc. really pretty purple spicy soft floral powdery perfume. love these types of perfumes and this is no exception. when it dries down it gets a bit sweeter and i get more peach/pineapple.

Omg i had almost forgotten this one..One of my first perfumes,i was very young.I loved this scent so much,i wanted it more then anything.So my sister surpriced me and bought it as a gift.I was so happy and took care of it as if it was liquid gold..lol I remember it is a nice ,sweet scent,very easy and not complicated.I would love to smell it now again,see how i feel about it 10 years later..

Smells like soft macarons, so sweet,creamy and yummy, a lot of vanilla but in a gentle way,the pineapple is strong there too, a very soft tropical touch for a good edt very much in the late 90s vibe

Absolutely wonderful! A scent that stays close to me, very soft, warm, deep and superfemale. A little bit sweet at the topnotes but turns very warm and deep rather quickly. Good staying-power on my skin. en härlig parfym som jag upplever som lite söt i toppnoterna men som ganska snabbt djupnar ner i en mjuk, varm och väldigt kvinnlig doft. På mig sitter den i ca 3-4 timmar. En doft som stannar nära den som bär den - alltså ingen "rumsdödare".

I always forget about this one. I bought it off eBay a couple of years ago when I was in a vintage buying phase. This is really beautiful. Peachy, powdery. I can compare it with Exclamation!, Joop Rococo, Tresor and maybe some Guerlain L'Instant and Oscar Espirit De Oscar. Like all of those mixed together Lol. It's really pretty and totally has that 90s vibe going on. But I think that it smells better and is cheaper than many mainstream popular EDPs on the market right now (La Vie Es Belle, Black Opium, Hypnose, etc.) Just my opinion but this one is worth a blind buy off of eBay.

I liked this perfume, but i always thought it had a strange drydown.First it was soooo fresh, cool, zesty, a real, genuine summer scent.Then it dried down in something floral, alcoholic and vanilla, which combination I didn-t quite understand, as it was not soft, rather it was contradictory.But anyway, I used to wear it a lot, for the top and middle notes which disclosed themselves in the first 2 hours.Instead, I preferred reverie Pure, a lighter version with less sweetness and sharpness.

I had this perfume in the early 2000's and loved it so much. The longevity was amazing for the price, and I have never found anything that came even close to this composition since. It is one of those fragrances you never forget! Such a shame that it was discontinued.
