Vanderbilt for Men

I had this perfume soooo long ago. It’s incredible that i stumbled upon its picture here on Fragrantica and brought back so many memories. I remember enjoying wearing this scent. Very clean, fresh and masculine. And being a EDT was performing incredibly good. I would like to reconnect with this. Would definitely buy a bottle if i find one. I don’t know if it’s still produced tho.

Vanderbilt for men has become one of my favourite “go to” fragrances in autumn & spring. It is just so pleasant & comforting that I really enjoy wearing it often on days out. I would categorise it as a masculine fougere with bergamot, geranium & a sweet vanilla/tonka drydown. Good longevity overall and a must for a fougere lover.

I had this right after it came out, about 10 years ago. I believe it's discontinued now, which is a shame. Vanderbilt For Men is a modern and sophisticated smell, which is perfect for the colder months. It could be compared to Allure Homme or perhaps Boss Bottled (they have 3 base notes in common), allthough it's a little fresher/sharper in it's topnotes and maybe a bit more one-dimensional. Good value for money though, since it's a pretty cheap perfume.

I really like this - nice bergamot opening with a detectable hint of the anise. The violet rises through nicely and there's a lovely woody/vanilla dry-down. I think it's a pretty versatile smell and would do well in all seasons. Would be great at the office. I didn't pay too much for it - good value for money! /edit 5 July 2016: it kinda smells like Chanel Allure in its dry-down. Scent: 8.5/10 Projection: medium for ~2 hours Longevity: 7/10

Bought this recently and I've gotta say... it reminds me of a more masculine version of the original women's perfume from the 80's. Good stuff that works really well in cooler weather.... Update : The above review still applies, however I now have to also add that this stuff DOES indeed remind me A LOT of ALLURE ... Really enjoying this.

Blind bought this after previously owning the original Vanderbilt for women and seeing the fragrance notes listed on here. This fragrance reminds me a lot of CK One Shock for him with a touch of Vanderbilt for women. Weird combination, I know, but that's what I get. It's a comfortable scent that's sweet and freshly spicy. It does smell cheap though and the bottle itself is pretty cheap. I did get this at a low cost for the 3.4 oz new. The other reviewer was right about it having a vanilla woody dry down. Maybe that's where it gets its sweetness. Not a bad scent.

This was a blind buy. I hugely admire Gloria Vanderbilt for the diverse and fasinating life she's lived. It was a bargain buy on ebay for 10 bucks! While I'm not a massive fan of vetiver or tonka bean ... abit too 1980s for me, I had hoped the geranium and violet would save the day. Unfortunetly not! Overall conclusion... It smells like it cost... Cheap!!

This was very smoky on my skin. I was hoping this would be more fresh. I was not a fan and it didn’t last long at all.

I got this one today. this one kind of nutty plus wind and sea breeze.
