Sandstone

I received a sample of Sandstone when buying makeup from Glossier - I would never have bought it otherwise. The fragrance profile contains nothing I'm usually drawn to, but I tried it anyway and was so surprised to love it. It's a bright green opening projecting the fig leaf, quickly dissipating to a softer green, everso slightly spicy, warm (sandal)woody fragrance. If you are of the belief that fragrance is gendered (which I don't really buy into) I would say this could be worn by all genders, but people who prefer very "masculine" scents may find this to be too gentle for their taste. It's clean and green enough for a spring fragrance, but warm and cosy enough for a summer to autumn transition fragrance. As is often the case with fragrances in the "body spray" category, the longevity is poor. I'm still tempted to buy it due to its reasonable price point, and would love an EDT/P version

I was looking for a scent to wear in my hair and had enjoyed using the Sandstone-scented deodorant. Like the deodorant, the Sandstone Body Spritz is fresh and herbal. There's a bit of a sharpness to it (think pine or menthol) from the lavandin. Something I've noticed in the Body Spritz that I didn't with the deodorant is the creamy coconut milk base note. These notes combined make it smell so luxurious, like an herbal milk tea or a spa treatment. My hair smells so good when I spray this on -- I do a few sprays and then brush it through. The scent lasts a couple hours, but I wouldn't expect a body spray to last longer. This was a bit pricier than what I would ideally want to pay for a body spray, but I like the scent enough to want to buy again.

I just love this - clean, elegant, herbal, green, soapy - great for hot weather. Would purchase if this was available as a perfume, but body spray works considering it works well after a shower or to freshen up. I don't know why this isn't rated higher when Jo Malone Wood sage & Sea salt is above a 4! I love it on everyone and get so many compliments

Actually shocked this has such low ratings! I just bought it on discount, and it's so fresh and lovely! It smells like a fancy LA hair salon, perfect for SoCal summer weather imo It's very strong and long lasting for a body spray. I'd wear this out on a walk or hike, or maybe at the beach or poolside ☀️

I love this scent so much! I don't really get men's deodorant from it like others have said; it smells quite feminine to me. I have the lotion and I love it. I smelled it and bought it immediately. It smells identical to earl grey tea leaves to me!

Sweet, aromatic, herbal. Fresh in an enclosed forest sort of way. Reminds me of nature in late spring/summer. True unisex. If you like You Doux, you'll like Sandstone. Steer away if you prefer feminine leaning florals and gorumands.

I’m not one to make a big “self-care” ordeal out of a shower, and at the end of the day, I just want to wash the day off (literally and figuratively) so that I can get into bed. But I wanted to inject a bit of joy into my shower routine in the form of an after-shower scent. The thing is ... I didn’t have anything that fit the bill. I love gourmands, and my collection reflects that. While I’m likely to smell like a bakery during the day, the thought of climbing into bed smelling like a sticky-sweet ice cream cake grosses me out. So, I set out to find an affordable, accessible fragrance to ease me into the world of spa-like, relaxing, herbal scents. Enter: Sandstone. Sandstone is such a great name for this. There’s a salty, stone-like quality. It’s clean, herbaceous, and has a slightly sweet drydown. It absolutely could be classified as a “spa scent” and is a solid choice for a post-shower/pre-bed scent. But it’d be wrong to not mention .. in the opening, this is SO aromatic that I catch whiffs of old-man cologne and cat pee (or some other astringent thing). Oddly, I can get past it, and it doesn’t ruin the overall experience. This definitely makes me want to explore this family of scents more. I’m glad I purchased it!

I bought this (along with its matching lotion and body wash) toward the end of summer and, had I gotten my hands on it any sooner, I would probably have finished the entire bottle by now. The atomizer sprays a lot of this out at a time, and you need quite a lot of it to even be able to smell it on yourself (at least for me). I love taking this to the beach and spraying it whenever I get a little too hot — the cooling effect really is nice!! The smell is refreshing, and when I layer it with the body wash and lotion I can make it last for a few hours. Overall, the sillage and longevity of this is so bad and makes the mist overpriced. I will probably only rebuy this at a discounted price in the future.

The only way I can justify my purchase of this body mist is my Sephora employee discount stacked with the sale that’s going on lmaoo. The lotion? Yeah okay 28 dollars for a good lotion that’s chill. The mist? Smells so good but 35 dollars made me think it would last (nope) and it’s smaller than a lot of other body mists. ANYWAYS: The smell is so good, extremely unisex which is always important to me because fragrance (ESPECIALLY IN STORES) is so violently gendered. But I love this so much it’s like clean soap and lightly like warm fruit and it reminds me of a hot day at the lake for some reason. I’m baffled this isn’t a perfume I hope glossier gets on that

This smells actually pretty similar to Diptyque’s Philosykos on me, like a version of it that was made for a spa, perhaps. More linear and “fresh” than Philosykos but for the price it’s not bad at all. The question would be whether that’s worth buying a fragrance that doesn’t last very long, because this doesn’t. But I guess it’s not really a “true” fragrance, so.

This is really nice, a very clean-smelling aromatic spray. However, much like its orange blossom counterpart, it lasts a maximum of 30 minutes! It's not unique enough to warrant a purchase, nor is the performance good enough. It's definitely more masculine-leaning, and very summery and refreshing. Really lovely scent, exceptionally poor performance.

love this scent!! its long lasting, fresh, and a compliment grabber. smells like spring evening walking through a field of sweet sugary flowers while wearing your favorite sweatshirt. the only downside ive noticed for me at least is that it does get a tad boring after a few months of wearing it, and it is definitely not a winter scent.

This does skew more masculine or unisex, and I can see where people get the "oh this just smells like men's cologne", but it feels fresh and sage-y enough for me to enjoy, personally. It feels somewhere *between* a typical men's cologne and a woody, herbal incense scent. Clearly this is different for different people and I like it.

I really love this. it’s so clean, perfect for everyday, work or school. It’s unisex but leans towards feminine, it’s very earthy and has a bit of musk to it which is super nice. I’d describe this scent as a fancy soap you’d get at a hotel. It’s not flowery, just clean, earthy and the sandalwood is strong!

A gorgeous green fig leaf scent with a minty, eucalyptusy edge, probably from the sage note. Comes across as very spa like, serene, fresh, and clean!

I enjoy woody fragrances but this one reads a bit heavy for a summer body spritz. I much prefer glossier's orange blossom neroli spritz as a beach/work/hangout scent. I find sandstone a little too 'mens deodorant' for my tastes and I'm averse to any fragrance that smells even a little like Cedarcide bug spray. Don't get me wrong, this smells good, but I just find myself reaching for the orange blossom neroli one instead.

This is definitely Glossier's more masculine-leaning scent, in my opinion. While it's definitely unisex, it has a bit of an aftershave vibe to it. Don't get me wrong, Sandstone is a MUCH nicer scent than aftershave, it just has that sort of profile. This is like a male, green, fresh, and clean sort of scent. Not quite spa-like, not quite aftershave-like... somewhere in between. I find this to be perfect for spritzing after the gym or pilates to freshen yourself up before running a few quick errands. It's also nice for layering - try it with Do Son from Diptyque or The Matcha 26 from Le Labo. Rating: 2.9/10

I normally like herbally fragrances but this one's sharp and spiky and spicy in a way I don't like. I agree that it smells like a hippie masculine fragrance. For those who do like it, I have good news! I sprayed it on my shirt sleeve and to my dismay the smell didn't come out in the wash, so you'll get good longevity!
