You Doux

I've been wearing You Doux for a few days now and I have to admit, I wasn't a fan at first. I smelled it whenever I went into Sephora as I heard Glossier's scents were similar to Not a Perfume in which they were skin-like scents. The You line always perplexed me, as I felt their scent profiles never made sense and rather than blending into a unique scent, always became disjointed and incoherent to the nose. Recently though, I went back in to Sephora to smell You Doux as I was looking for a new perfume, and I wanted to give Glossier a chance again. Looking at the scent profiles, I suspected Doux would be more likeable to my nose. I spritzed it onto my arm and went about my day with it, smelling it It starts off very strongly of incense, but once laid onto the skin it settles down and you get that musky, ambery side of the perfume I love so much. The palo santo, frankincense, and myrrh blend very well with the ambery base notes while the violet provides a femininity to the scent that creates a beautifully rich and complex scent when paired with vanilla lotions or oils on the skin. It's warm and sweet, but the incense smell might draw people away. Me personally, I love the bohemian, esoteric side of the perfume, it provides an allure and complexity that the perfume needs. I've never smelled anything so good before. You Doux lasts for a long time. While don't expect it to stay floral or incense like for as long as it lasts, the amber base will sustain itself for quite a long time without reapplication. The strongest note is the palo santo, and that along with the base will seep off your skin. While you move your arms, your body, your hair, you will get glimpses of the perfume and it smells heavenly, like you're in a chapel and they just walked down the aisle with that ball of incense. I feel like I'm one of the wise men bringing baby Jesus his gifts of gold frankincense and myrrh. There's a sexiness to it that distorts and perverts the holy connotation thanks to the base and the sweet violet top, amplified if paired with Not a Perfume or another amber scent. Who should buy?: Those looking for a skin-like scent who have religious trauma but still find esoteric aspects of the church beautiful. If you like semi-strong scents. People will notice when you are close to them/hug them and they will compliment it. Wear over vanilla scented oils and lotions to bring out the sweetness a bit more and it turns into a very sexy scent. Great for day or nighttime and will be appropriate for formal or business settings if applied properly. Great value for 100mL bottle, being priced at $116. I will have to look into Glossier's You line way more now.

I've tested this fragrance for about a week now, and it's quickly become one of my favorite scents. Let's get some stats out of the way: -Longevity: Around 9 hours. Keep in mind I use body lotions and moisturizing oils almost daily. When I hear reports of short wear time, I assume it's because the person has dry or non-moisturized skin. -Sillage: Moderate; people within three feet of you can smell you, but you won't choke out the room. If you're in a tight group or moving around at a party, people will smell you *(in a good way). -Price: It's less than $80 for a 1.7 oz (50ml) bottle. For a well-blended, unique, and crowd-pleasing fragrance, I could easily see a more high-end brand charging much more. The accessible price point adds to the charm, IMO. The Scent: Cozy, comforting, sophisticated, a little crunchy, vaguely green and wild (on me anyway), sexy, ethereal, and put together--this smells like a creative director. Or an artist. The ambroxan and ambertte ensure that the fragrance will never lean too "mass-market". It's price is high enough to turn away the people who don't care about perfume, but low enough to ensure it's accessibility for real perfume-heads. I love love love that it amplifies your natural body chemistry as well as whatever lotions, oils, and soaps you use. Doux is versatile. You can take it to your 9 to 5, a poetry reading, a rave, or an after-party. It can easily replace an entire perfume collection because of how versatile it is. No, it's not as niche or ground-breaking as Delina, Santal 33, or BK540 were in their day. It is a little on the basic or "safe" side. But--I love that about Doux. You don't have to think about it. If you want to smell good and make an impression, just put it on. Final note: I heard someone on TikTok describe this as "witchy grandma" (Abuelita brujaita) and I was like yes. Yes, that's it. Wear this if you want to smell like a hot, witchy grandma.

I was bored and tired at Northpark after dropping my bf off to work when i decided i was going to leave smelling good at least because i looked chopped hoe asf. After smelling the array of perfumes in Sephora i decided to smell the new scents glossier released. Glossier You is my signature scent, ive had my time with her but now its time to move on. Ever since i went to a beabadoobee show and everybody in line smelled like glossier you- i sorta got humbled because while it is a very nice unique scent- i realized every girl with similar interests as me probably smell the same and sorry i just cant do that anymore. Idk why but my dumbass ego just cant enjoy glossier you scents because i think its so popular. Im so pea brained to not enjoy something i like just because other people like it too! Its popular because it does smell good duh! But anyway, i entered with the mindset to undermine it because i surely dont wana wear something popular right🤣🤣well stfu girl cuz i was aghast!! It gave me the same feeling when i first smelled glossier you, its something so unique, primal, human, animalistic, warm, loving, erotic and graceful. Glossier You Doux is something to wear if ur a girl who loves not smelling like a sticky sour cupcake or a bright punch of citrus. Im so over those popular scents. I want to walk by someone and smell like something they have never smelled before. I want to smell like something you cant exactly pin down what the notes are. I sprayed it on me and gtfo northpark because i got what i needed. I just woke up from a fat nap drenched in sweat, and oddly enough the perfume compliments it so well its almost making me horny. Im Sorry glossier for my ego getting in the way for a little while. Wish i smelled the new scents sooner. I might just buy a bottle of this if someone wants to hire me.

This is my new favorite scent. I really don't understand the people who say it's super subtle. When I strayed it I was like WOAH! That has some umpf to it!! I personally don't smell any pickle, but I can definitely tell what could go wrong on some people's skin's ph. Maybe in a very abstract sense I can see what people are calling prickle-y. I think that particular note fades after dry down though and makes space for a very nice clean warm wood. Happy this smells good on my skin because my last blind buy smelled like cat pee on me! It has a certain sweetness to it that I didn't expect since so many people said it's a very unisex, maybe even masculine leaning scent. It's not *sweet* by any means though. It fades quickly and leaves room for a very nice warmth. I think it's a true unisex, not masculine leaning. It's definitely not girly the way I'm used to. It doesn't project, but once you get close it's intense. It has a sort of incense vibe to it. I think it could last longer, but subtle woods don't do well in that department anyway. I think it's a great layering scent for something sweeter too. I haven't smelled the original glossier You, but I'm very tempted right now, since this is more of a cozy weather scent and I want THIS but a little pinker for summer. It's the perfect fragrance for fall or for rainy summer days.

On the test strip this was very dry and woody. On my skin it was more creamy and the frankincense and myrhh came out. On my clothes the next day it was heavenly clean laundry. This is SO clean without being a fresh scent. The woodiness really dries down into a soft, clean, and warm scent. Longevity as a skin scent lasted me all day. I don't think anyone should or would really be looking for projection in the Glossier You line. Also it works very well as unisex. I sprayed it on my father and he actually loved it. He said if he ever were to wear a fragrance (he would not, lol) that this would be it. It smelled very masculine on him. When I open the cap to smell it, it can be a little like Home Depot or super beachy smelling like Sandalwood. But that's not really what this fragrance is. The original You is a little sharp and scratchy smelling to me, this isn't. I think this would go really well with the Nemat Egyptian Musk oil I have (or layered with any musk). Predominantly clean, but elevated and sophisticated with an interesting edge to it. I was not too impressed by Fleur, but now I am very curious about Reve. If you like sweet fragrances this probably wouldn't be for you.

Skin chemistry is everything with this one. I genuinely feel for those getting sour or powdery grandma, but on me this was love at first smell. A friend passed it along as a travel bottle since it was pulling sour on her. And god am I grateful for this. What I get is an almost photorealistic palo santo and frankincense: warm and resinous but soft rather than smoky. The base is where it earns its keep, a gentle muskiness that reads as clean skin, elevated, wrapped in a creamy warmth that ties everything together. Refined and cozy without ever feeling heavy. The best way I can describe it is that gorgeous clean smell you may notice on yourself after showering post-sauna at a spa. Clean, relaxing and somewhat mysterious. Similarly it evokes a very nostalgic feeling on me. That of summer nights at my family’s house, being in the garden, the ashes from the barbacue are slowly lighting off and theres this faint warm cozy feeling coming from the plants around us and the softness of my grandpas cologne. I love this scent. Already sent my friend on a mission to pick up a 50ml from Sephora Paris since we don’t have them in Amsterdam. That should tell you everything.

I'm actually having withdrawal from no longer having Glossier You Doux. I LOVE this scent. To me, its multifasceted and can be used daily, and it would smell different. I love layering with it, and would layer it with Prada Paradox. Anyways, by itself I have two descriptions of what my brain registers it as. At first it reminded me of like your boyfriend's clothes or like a hoodie, which someone said on TikTok that I completely stand by. There is a subtle masculinity to it, but the violet doesn't make it go too far. It also has this clean effect; whenever I would take a shower and put it on, my dormmates would say I smell really clean and refreshing. I also would describe it as like a fox in the snow. I don't know, it just makes sense to me. As I said, wear it independently, layer it with another scent; it smells amazing regardless. I still smell it on my sweaters after washing them too. If your intrested in a skin scent, but don't want to lean too fruity or floral, this is the one. No, like seriously, I'm so close to just buying a bunch of travel sizes till I can get the full bottle again.

This is the fastest I have ever finished a travel sized bottle of perfume, and I will be buying the full bottle asap. Just a perfect signature scent. I usually go for higher projection, more unique / specific smells, but this is so perfect for literally any situation/ season. Classic your skin but better, doux is the 'cool girl' older sister to the og Glossier you, (which on my skin smelt very sweet). Musky, creamy and woody. I thought the projection was very intimate, and I thought that only I could smell myself, but I did get a a surprising amount of compliments in the one week I wore it! Probably more compliments then my stronger more projecting perfumes actually. I'm usually a gourmand girl and this perfume has shifted me 180 degrees. I have turned to the woodsy dark side and can only see myself purchasing more woodsy perfumes for the near future haha. But actually you doux layers so nicely with the sweet fragrances I already have and I find makes them more elevated/easy to wear. If you have super milk from lush, pair it with doux, muah just perfect.

I just ran out of my tiny sample from the Sephora birthday set, and I NEED to get a full bottle. I'm not a huge vanilla fan, so here's a warm and snug scent that doesn't have a vanilla base. It's woody yet somehow there's this cooling scent that smells like you're fresh out of the shower. I'm not too sure on longevity, because I wear heavy coats over my wrists and arms in the winter, so some of it rubs off throughout the day, but the scent lingers on my neck and I catch whiffs of it, which is honestly enough. I tend to apply this pretty generously though, 5-6 sprays on my neck, chest, and pulse points, and the projection is still rather intimate (i.e sitting at the same cafe table). My 1.5 ml sample has lasted me maybe 4-5 wears, but I get compliments almost every time I wear it in public. I'm also on the lookout for a good layering perfume that can easily give depth to any florally perfume I enjoy, but this I think works well (and might even be better) on its own

To my own nose, this perfume reads as incredibly woody, but not in the unpleasant way that I've encountered from certain fragrances. I personally struggle to pick up the violet note, but my dad commented that there was a "light floral" aspect to it when he smelled it on me, so maybe it's just too subtle for someone who wears a lot of floral-forward fragrances. There is an almost incense quality to it as well; the notes of palo santo, frankincense, and myrrh are definitely noticeable. To me, this is a more mature, sexier, more intimate version of the original Glossier You, while still carrying a slight note of that same pepperiness. But it definitely makes me feel like a "real" grown up. This is absolutely a scent I'll want to wear around the holidays, because it's so cozy and warm, alongside feeling mature enough to give a little boost of confidence. It truly makes me feel like I have my life together!

the sweet woodiness of the palo santo on this is intoxicating. i feel sorry for people that can only smell pickle from palo santo scents 3 this lasts quite a while when sprayed on clothing and has a lovely, warm coziness to it. it's ever slightly too peppery/spicy upon initial application, but that mellows out very quickly and settles into a beautiful scent. it's not an offensive scent (imo), but it doesn't mean that it has no depth or smell, which a lot of "inoffensive" type scents can go into. this layers quite well with other base note perfumes (i most often layer JHG's not a perfume, but goes well with other vanilla or woody scents like SS Manor). i've been using up my travel size EDP much more than expected so i'll probably FS soon. i didn't really care for OG You, so i am surprised to love this one so much!

i've had this for a while but haven't reviewed yet - this is by far my favourite of the you line. before soie was launched, i smelled all 4 of the collection and doux stood out to me immediately. it's clean, demure, elegant and restrained. i am prone to overspraying this as i can't get enough of it, but i don't care. it's worth every spritz. i have to diverge from the general opinion that this is mostly a cold weather scent, as i wore it in summer and it worked really well for me, considering my winter scents are a lot heavier, spicier, and more vintage (jil sander no4, guerlain samsara, tsu lange yor sage's rose) i went for a 50ml immediately, topped up with a 10ml for on the go touchups, and will be buying 100ml soon. one of my fave perfumes of all time.

i have been a fan of glossier you for YEARS since its launched, i own every product from the line and i truly thought it would always be my fav scent... doux is somehow even more perfect... it is also SO much more long lasting than glossier you (tip: the glossier you lotion helps the perfume last for FOREVER). i would say it leans a bit more feminine on the side of unisex (you is much more truly unisex) while glossier you smells like the feeling of just stepping out of the shower... glossier you doux smells like like the feeling of someone you love just showered and is currently giving you a hug!!! glossier DID send this to me ahead of the official launch but they didn’t pay me or anything

Okay so the first time I sprayed this, I was kind of underwhelmed — like, it just felt... fine? Nothing super exciting. But you have to give this one time, because it really grows on you the more you wear it. Once it settles into your skin it's genuinely lovely — like a soft, creamy hug with this warm woodiness underneath. It's cozy without being heavy, and it has that signature "smells like you but better" thing the You line does so well, just with a richer, more grounded twist. This is officially in my summer rotation now. If your first impression was lukewarm, don't write it off — give it a few wears before you decide. It's a slow burn but so worth it.

Smells absolutely amazing, like my cool aunt’s home. Warm, comforting, sophisticated, natural. This makes me feel like I’m on a vacation to a spiritual place, somewhere with a lot of history. For me personally, it takes me to the Channel Islands of California, not Avalon, but the interior. I totally understand how this reminds people of a fancy hotel lobby, but it’s better than that. I think this perfume is perfect for a cool woman who would describe herself as “spiritual,” who loves travel and nature, and who has practiced yoga at least once. It is great for women from their late 20’s all the way to their 60’s. Someone with lots of cool life experience.

coming back for a more informed review now that i’ve been wearing this scent consistently for months. let that be a lesson for my own ass: no commenting on perfumes after trying them in-store; there are sometimes worlds behind that first impression. an absolute silky incense bomb. smooth, woody operator. if you are in my immediate radius after i have spritzed it exactly twice on my neck, you WILL be blasted. the impact area may not be large but it lasts the entire day. current favorite and the most powerful intimate perfume in my collection, as contradictory as that may sound. i don’t see it being dethroned soon.

I first bought the original Glossier You and they sent this as a sample. Not a small little bottle sample - like the kind that they sprayed on a piece of cardboard paper. I’m not joking, when I smelled it , it was so nostalgic and addicting that I actually kept it on my bedside table and smelled that piece of paper all the time. Before bed, when I was stressed, when I woke up in the morning. Needless to say I’ve already finished two bottles. Also there’s no other perfume that gets me compliments like this one. I’m a woody musk girly forever. Not a good blind buy if u only like sweet vanilla or gourmands.

my favorite thing within my fragrance hobby is when i find a perfume so good that it completely fills a specific selection for me. i don’t feel the need to try anymore sandalwood forward fragrance after discovering this back in april. it’s perfect. the palo santo is so smooth and creamy and there’s a beautiful spicy touch from the frankincense myrrh combo. it’s this wonderful mix of a church/cathedral scent and something very calming. this is perfect for autumn and winter but i did use it quite a bit throughout spring and summer, especially on cooler days and to bed. forever my favorite from glossier!

my go to fall/winter fragrance; i will only pull this out if it is 50° or under. glossier you doux is perfectly warm without having a vanilla note. the frankincense, myrrh, and palo santo in this gives it a bit of an old church vibe in the sexiest way imaginable. it makes me feel like such a cool, chic girl and boosts my confidence immediately after putting it on. this scent reminds me of wearing a broken in, vintage leather jacket in the fall/winter, and wandering through an old record store where they’re burning palo santo incense. ultimate esoteric, chic, cool girl scent for colder months.

No perfume has ever smelled like this perfume. It does not have the burn of any alcohol in the fragrance- it is pure milk and cream and perfection. I have tried perfumes with close to the same notes because I want this perfume to LAST FOREVER and am willing to spend the money on a more expensive perfume for that reason, BUT nothing has ever even come CLOSEEEEEE. Please glossier make like an extract version or something i will spend all my money i will give you my home anything. I live in the Texas heat nothing that smells good lasts my life is tragic.
