You Soie

Creamy, dreamy, enveloping, sensual, beautiful. A floral rice coconut pudding. Opens slightly fresh but quickly becomes very close to the skin. Wish it projected a little more. Still want. I want to bathe in this. Can't stop inhaling it. I keep seeking it. The Walt Disney of perfumes - leaves you wanting more. Sits just on the edge of being the perfect fragrance for my current mood. I have a small sample but will definitely buy the full size. My second-favourite of the Glossier You range. The OG Glossier You smells linear and like nothing to me other than pencil shavings. I was always so disappointed that I didn't get the cosiness that everyone else described - just pencil shavings. You Doux - all I get is mouldy orange peel. Rève is ok but nothing special - a pleasant enough cherry-almond gourmand to my nose. You Fleur - I fell in love immediately with this one and have the full size. Soie is another love for me. I don't get tropical beaches or vacations from this. I get addictive coconutty musky rice pudding sitting beside a vase of white flowers and I want to dive head first into it. I find it fascinating that the Glossier You range is so different on everyone and so very divisive. Soie and Fleur are by far two of my favourite fragrances in my entire collection.

personally feel like this is the closest we've gotten to original You while being Not You. the cursed dill/pencil shaving notes are NOT present, and it relies heavily on ambroxan as the base. like many ambroxan frags, you won't get the full effect of this one unless you wear it on your skin. it smells like nothing on the sample paper but once it warms up, the notes start to open up. lactonic is correct - jasmine-forward with the creaminess of cold milk in your mouth and just the slightest hint of glutinous rice - but the bergamot is easy to miss as it's not immediately citrus-forward. on the scale of summeriness, this is closer to the transition between spring and summer; before things get too hot, but after the fresh rain of spring. this is very lowkey - i imagine it's made for the folks that like pre-reformulation you, diptyque, jo malone - and not really Apparent like doux or fleur. i wouldn't recommend this as a blind buy solely because you just never know how an ambroxan is going to react to your skin.

This was an immediate full bottle purchase. I tried it out a few times in store, and between tests found myself wishing I had it to spray at home. To me, I get a very soft rice milk and tiare flower scent with an undercurrent of humidity and fresh wood. It’s a tiny bit sweet, but also a bit mineral and salty at the same time. I’m surprised there isn’t a salt note listed to be completely honest. I get almost no jasmine in this except for on the initial spray. Jasmine usually pops pretty aggressively on my skin, so most jasmine-forward scents just turn into Alien on me almost immediately, but this doesn’t give even a hint of that. I hate the word “creamy” for perfumes, but I really don’t have another way to describe this. It almost literally smells like a body cream. Overall, it’s a lovely hot-weather scent that’s going to probably be abused relentlessly this summer along with its You siblings.

Oh. My. Gosh. OBSESSED with this. I follow a lot of perfumetok creators on tiktok who raveeee about milky lactonic scents and I never got the hype....until now. This is calm, sweet, a little powdery, and truly so beautiful. I don't lean towards these notes typically, so I don't have much in my collection to compare it to, but let me just say it's gorgeous and I regret only getting the travel size! I've seen complaints about longevity but it lasts a while on me! Especially if I spray on my hair and not just pulse points. I do totally recognize some of the comments that compare it to fresh laundry, but it's more floral than that. So soft and sweet, very pretty dry down. Inoffensive skin scent to wear at the office/in public year-round. Definitely a new fave (and this is coming from someone whose body chemistry does NOT work with the OG glossier you!!)

This is the perfect summer scent. To me it smells like water less in the beachy, oceanic way as promised on the Glossier website, and more so like swimming in a creek in the woods on a sunny day, a little greener and softer. It also just smells like really fresh, summery air to me, like when you're in the car driving to the lake with your friends and you stick your head out the window and just want to gulp the air down because it smells so good. Just fun and breezy and free-spirited. After 6+ hours I still totally smell it on me, but it fades into a really nice milky musk, the very classic "your skin but better" You base, but Soie retains some of the greenness, it's like the skin of someone who's been outside all day. This is probably my favorite in the You line besides the OG.
