Desert Rosewood

Desert Rosewood was launched in 2016 and was created by François Merle-Baudoin. The inspiration was the region known as Central Highlands in Victoria, an area that has a lot of natural diversity, including forests full of myrtle, sassafras, ferns, mosses, eucalyptus, and even Australian Acacias called Golden Wattles (Acacia Pycnantha Benth). The creative concept aims to portray the meeting of the old with the new, the trees with the arid landscapes under the scorching sun. And this contrast is made through a sweet and woody fragrance with a leathery and warm aspect. To do so were combined notes of Australian rosewood, Sicilian mandarin, Indian cardamom, benzoin from Laos, vanilla from the Comoros Islands, Indonesian patchouli, and Australian Buddha wood (Eremophila Mitchelli), which is also called "false sandalwood” and its essential oil has nuances that resemble whiskey. Desert Rosewood is classified by the company as a woody, liqueur, gourmand, and mystical scent. When applied, it smells like mandarin jelly, still warm, prepared with pieces of cinnamon and cloves, and also brings some camphorated nuances. These nuances disappear, shortly after, and there is a mixture of light woods without of humidity aspect, besides the great presence of benzoin. Throughout evolution, a liqueur scent is noticeable, as if a strong drink had been spilled on the living room's rug during a visit from friends. It is not something that bothers, but that everyone feels. For me, this is the biggest differential of this creation. Although the vanilla is present, the benzoin is more prominent on my skin, reinforcing the oriental aspect of the fragrance. I love the rich amber color, representing the twilight desert, inside the jar made with French glass. As for the projection, it is a fragrance of low trace and high comfort. It exudes to the wearer and draws attention to who is close enough to feel it. It has high durability. Although it speaks of the desert, it should not be related to fragrances that portray the burning sands of the Middle East, but with sandy landscapes and constant breeze. It is perfect for special occasions, romantic dinners, and more sexy nights, except ballads and dance floors. That's because, in my opinion, Desert Rosewood does not match with warmth or sweat, but with a well-cut suit or a trim dress, when heeled shoes draw more attention than the clothing itself and the perfume is used as a weapon of seduction. It is worth remembering that the fragrances of Goldfield & Banks are gender-free. Desert Rosewood is the result of the meeting of woods with spices, dipped in the acidity of a sweet and citrus juice. Undoubtedly, a beautiful oriental fragrance.

I was fortunate enough to obtain a free sample of this wonderful fragrance this passed Saturday and chose it as my scent of the day today. This is something special. It's sweet ambery woods. It smells like no other fragrance I've ever smelled and again, it is wonderful. I absolutely love it. It's woody but not too woody, it's sweet but not too sweet. The benzoin just radiated off of my skin, supported but the dry rosewood and sweet vanilla. Sexy, sensual, sweet. I think everyone should try this fragrance at least once. Scent : 10/10 Longevity : 10/10 it's twelve hours since I first sprayed and I'm still catching wafts. Projection : 7/10, great for the first couple of hours but quickly fades to a skin scent which in this case, isn't a bad thing at all. Sillage : 6/10 the scent trails faded even quicker but this scent is one to draw someone into you, not project outward. Overall : 9/10 Even though projection and sillage aren't beast performance, the scent is always most important and this stuff smells amazing. Final thoughts ... I need to get a bottle of this, it's just incredible to my nose. One of the best amber fragrances I've ever smelled. I would say that if you love amber, you can safely blind buy but there is no such thing as a safe blind buy. On my skin, this just works and smells incredible but it may not on your own. So, always sample before you buy. It may not be for everyone but I think everyone should at least try to smell and sample it, at least once in their lives. EDIT***** So, the shop where I got my sample has a special 15% off on your birthday, so on my birthday in August, my girlfriend and I went there to choose a perfume to buy. I had her smell a bunch that I was interested in and we narrowed it down to two, Tauer's L'Air De Desert Marocain and this wonderful creation. We sprayed my wrists with each to smell on skin and then left the shop to give our noses a break. Outside, we smelled both from my skin several time but she liked Desert Rosewood the most, so I did end up getting the full bottle on my birthday. It is one of my favorites in my whole collection now. As well, as I write this edit, it is my scent of the day. Such an amazing fragrance. Definitely the standout from the entire house in my opinion.

I bought the trial set about 2 years ago and even did a video review on them. So I've tried the whole range except the latest years' Velvet Splendour and Bohemian Lime. I don't wanna go back and watch myself so I forgot which of the range I ranked as my top 3 of the 6. However after years later (of not having been wearing perfume much), I decided to give these trial sizes another go. To my surprise (or not really), I remember when I was testing these when I first got them (which was when I was obsessed with perfumes the most), I remember I really liked this specific one but for some reason, altho I think I said I like Pacific Rock Moss the most. Now after trialling them out again (after free of perfumes for a long time, that's when your senses are more clear), I realise how much I truly love this one out of the range for its uniqueness. I didn't like White Sandalwood (because how plain and how boring it smelt to me) but when I layer them together...man I love the heavenly concoction. I definitely wanna buy a full bottle of this. It just reminds me so much of my childhood where my dad used to buy a lot of wooden sculptures and this smells just like that (although I believe those wooden sculpture were made with sandalwood...but White Sandalwood alone smells nothing like them).

Amazing Exotic Spice Desert Rosewood is a warm spicy and cozy fragrance, mainly dominant by patchouli, mandarin and benzoin notes with woodsy accord. I really like this sublime zesty opening of fresh, slightly bitter mandarin complimented with rich earthy patchouli and also cardamom. Transitioning into the dry-down it gets more spicy, I really get vibes of ginger and cinnamon, also a slight rose and cumin nuance. The dry-down seem to be dominated by warn benzoin which gives a a bit of powderiness, but it stays resinous and retains that spicy zestiness and bitterness. The scent have a really good performance and staying power which is always a plus. It seem to be more of a colder weather scent, but I wonder if it would work in a warmer weather, specially in the night time. Desert Rosewood is easily my favorite from Goldfield & Banks line-up, probably because of having a lot of my favorite notes and being most unique to my nose. Bought the discovery set and this ended up being my favourite, as well as my favourite fragrance I've smelt so far (as a relative beginner). I get a warm spicy, but not too spicy (otherwise it would remind me of something "old fashioned"), vanilla, booze-y, gourmand smell. I couldn't get enough of it and on some nights would give myself a spray before going to sleep just so I could smell it as I drifted off too. I personally don't get anything "medicinal" or synthetic from this like some, I get something very warm, very gourmand, quite whiskey/liquerous and vanilla (with also wood undertones). Some of the notes listed here aren't correct, I believe Australian Rosewood was used (the whole "angle" of this brand is using at least one or two Australian scents per fragrance, weird to advertise using an Australian Rosewood scent to then not use it). Combining what they list on their website as well as what's on the package when you buy it, the scents are; Mandarin, Cardamom, Vanilla, Benzoin, Patchouli, Buddha Wood/Australian Desert Rosewood (2 different names for the same plant), Australian Sandalwood.

My nose has been affected by Covid, so take this review with that in mind. When I first sprayed it I could smell an astringent note, like strong alcohol, but that settled down very quickly. On my tester I could smell rosewood quite strongly, however I couldn't really smell the rose part of rosewood on me. I could smell a sweet woody spicy scent which was very pleasant. I put this on around 6pm. After an 1-2 hours I think I became noseblind to it. However, the smell resurfaced around 10pm and was a slightly powdery and more rosy, which blended nicely with the woody spice smell. When I woke up in the morning was still on my skin. I would say wear this in any season, I live in Australia where it's hot and humid and this is not overwhelming or awful in the heat. It reminds me of summer in dry bushland, or summer in the sand dunes by the beach (which is heavily associated with rosewood for me). I also appreciate that G+B tested this in extreme humid conditions, being from Aus its a pain to find perfumes that work in this climate.

Finally something I really like and it is a mirror image of something else I've tried but can't put my finger on. Like Equipagemarocain says, it smells like a lot of things. For me, I think it's a mix of some Atelier Colognes and Serge Lutens Ambre. It has that ambery-playdohy background that Ambre has, and the sandalwoody nature of Santal Carmin + the fresh zingy citrus of some other Atelier. Even L'Air du Desert is coming to mind. That's the general vibe I'm getting, and I love those fragrances it is reminding me of so this is a winner for me as well. I dig it. I love how airy it is, I feel like my lungs are expanding breathing it in. I don't get pure wood out of this, like other comments did. Yeah it's woody but the resinous nature is really what is powerful on my skin. Even though it reminds me of a million things, I think I will keep my eye out for a bottle of it. 8.5/10

Desert Rosewood feels like an early fall day, a warm afternoon around golden hour. Life’s good and you have the time just to enjoy it! It really smells like a warm, spicy, woody, sweet, balsamic vanilla. While the scent profile is very common nowadays, Desert Rosewood is a beautiful blend with a unique touch from palisander rosewood. It’s an easy choice for a beginner even though it comes from a niche house, it’s not a difficult or challenging scent and could be a signature fragrance for someone who into this scent profile. Moderate performance and also safe for office. Could be easily my third bottle from Goldfield&Banks if I could get it on some discount. The performance is not quite matching the high price.. Edit: as of late of December got a bottle for nearly half of.

One of 4 fragrances from this new Australian house. Desert Rosewood opens up with a burst of boozy amber and quickly settles into woody vanilla vibe. But what i really like about this is that it is a dry sweetness, probably assisted by the cardamom note. After about an hour this has settled nicely on the benzoin and rosewood base all the while with a hint of sharpness from something, maybe the listed mandarin and cardamom notes hanging around. It may have been because i was sniffing them both the night before, but this is almost what you would get if a fragrance had the same bloodlines as both Chergui and L'air du desert Marocain. It certainly has the dry desert air vibe with a touch of sweetness. 4.5 out of 5

This is my absolute favourite perfume, I’ve found to date. Surprisingly it’s actually a very linear scent, but a great one. It’s just smells like a place instead of distinguishing a particular thing. It’s just blended really well and is just intoxicating for me. The benzoine and vanilla stays close to my skin for days even surpassing showers if I don’t scrub well and the cardamom can always be found again. It’s quite a particular scent though, so sometimes I need something else or it becomes too much.

This is a dead ringer for Black Orchid by Tom Ford when placed side by side. The price of the bottle doesn’t really make it a dupe, and Black Orchid is one of my favorite fragrances of all time so I won’t be running to buy a full size after my mini runs dry. But the warm spices and depth from the spices are sexy and strong and honestly maybe even a bit smoother/less aggressive than TF. However the staying power just isn’t the same. 6-8 hours here vs 14+ on my skin just can’t be beat.

A deeply woody fragrance with a pop of fresh spice. The sparkling sweet cardamom-citrus opening is reminiscent of Xerjoff Starlight but with a much woodier base. Commingling with the woods is a large dose of fuzzy, balsamic benzoin, maybe with a hint of patchouli. Dries down to a very plain wood smell. Strong projection for 3-4hr, longevity 8-10hr. Benzoin often goes sour on my skin and while I do get a faint camphorous whiff of that here, it's subdued enough to evade my ire.

Desert Rosewood is a classic cold autumn/winter fragrance. Its warm sweet wood and powdery vanilla and is quite medicinal in scent which i love. Like a root beer float next to a fireplace but without any smoke or ash creeping up nose. Goldfield and Banks do excellent fragrance and Desert Rosewood is up there with the best of them. Not a safe blind buy due to personal preference but I went with this over Indigenous Ginger and i think I made the right move

A rich benzoin and vanilla perfume, scented with desert rosewood essential oil which lends a sweet, peppery, leathery aspect, finished off with mandarin, cardamom, patchouli and luxurious vanilla. This is very well composed, being sweet, but not cloying and woody without the timber yard. Comfort-factor 100%! This has a certain similarity to Coromandel, if you replaced the white chocolate with the mandarin note in this.

Absolute love. Benzoin is always a winner for me. The mixture of the notes is so smooth and comes together to make a dark, luscious, woody rose. Which is surprising because there are no floral notes in the pyramid. Desert Rosewood changes throughout the day under different temperatures, which makes it more interesting. Reminds me of infusion d'Oeillet by Prada. So far this is the G&B that I like the best.

Wow......love this so much from the opening to dry down.If’s just me that gets a Gucci Guilty absolute vibes on the opening on the first few seconds??My nose might be wrong tho.This release is so brilliant that I’m getting a backup bottle soon.Performance on my skin is good.I can easily gets 8 hours with decent projections.

From the very beginning, benzoin, smoky, and sweet woody notes are noticeable. Cinnamon and a hint of citrus are also noticeable. After an hour, patchouli also emerges. Warm, oriental, and discreetly sweet. It gradually fades gently, leaving a feeling of relaxation. Good longevity. A beautiful scent.

This isn't the deep, dark woods of an Oud fragrance. This is a lighter, drier woods note combined with a pleasant warmth from the mandarin, and a peppery edge from the cardamom and patchouli. An outstanding winter fragrance that doesn't stray into sweet gourmand territory.

I bought this last fall and didn't love it, I just liked it. Well after a year of sitting I put it on and could not stop smelling my wrist. It's a beautiful, and cozy fall and winter fragrance Update 03/2024 every time I wear this I get tons of compliments.

I did the whole discovery set and this was my favorite. Smokey rose wood. Becomes more incense and woody as it dries down. Rose stays there but it is not a sweet or overly floral rose. Unisex and very sexy.

I would describe this as woody, resinous and a touch sweet, but not too sweet. There's something classy and elegant about it, but also original. I really like it and will be buying a full bottle.

To me, it smells like being in a showroom of very nice acoustic guitars. The most authentic woody fragrance in my collection by far because it actually smells like a piece of rosewood.

Smells like ginger spice tea to me. Does anyone get ginger? Strange but it's not in the note list. I find it unique but a bit confusing. Not sure if it's for me.

Patchouli spicy opening Woody amber/incense

I smell something a lot like any rosewood I've ever smelled. Not sure what Palisander Rosewood is, but I'm sure it probably smells a lot like other rosewood. Tiny bit of patchouli. Lots of benzoin (resinous, powdery, ever so slightly woody). Ambroxan? Maybe Cashmeran - G&B seem to like using it. Tiny bit of citrus, but not orange-y. Dry vanilla - slightly woody, almost animal like...not sweet or like baking ingredients. Cardamom. I smell it. Not a big fan, but it's subtle and sticks around a while. I don't hate it, I don't love it. This is a pretty good scent with good performance. From their lineup, I can't stand more than half the scents. This one though, and I'm smelling it right now, is growing on me. Kind of barbershop on the dry down. And I don't mean it smells like brut, i mean it smells like powder and creamy shaving soap with a touch of spice. Dang I thought the cardamom went away, but it's still there. That must be the "medicinal" note people are talking about. Also, if you don't know what you're smelling how can you critique a scent? Did anyone ever smell Palisander Rosewood? I haven't. Guilty. NO idea what it lends to this overall concoction. But. Anyway. Does anyone even re-read what they wrote before submitting? No? I can see that. Cream sickle? Is that a weapon the grim reaper of candyland uses to take souls? Oh, creamsicle. I get it. How is it helpful, though, to say this smells like creamsicle if it really doesn't...because it really doesn't. Besides, when's the last time you sat down and sniffed a creamsicle? I'm smelling this perfume right now, 1.5 hour into dry down and it's resinous, woody and powdery with a slight spiced note. Just stop it with the fake reviews of things you sprayed on your wrist at the store and then went to taco bell and when you got home and took a whiff you had no idea what you're smelling is refried bean and your own sweat.

Desert Rosewood is a dry, warm spicy scent. I don't get a rich balsamic vibe to it, more just a dry spice. I get the cardamom, rosewood and patchouli in particular. It reminds me a little of Aesop's Marrakech Intense in that regard. They are not the same fragrance, but they both have that spiciness that smells as if you are sniffing spices from a spice drawer. There is minimal sweetness to this scent despite the benzoin, vanilla and mandarin notes. These 3 notes do give a tad bit more of a roundness to the scent instead of it being just straight wood and spices. Although it is marketed as unisex, to me it definitely leans masculine. I'm a 24 year old female and I'm someone who wears unisex, male and female scents as long as I like them, but this is one that I would prefer on a man. I will finish the tester as I do like the scent, but I won't purchase a full bottle not because of the quality, but just because it's not quite my personality. If you like warm spicy, woody scents, this may be one to try out. Definitely a more fall/winter scent. Longevity is pretty great- around 10 hours. Sillage isn't crazy, a bit more than a skin scent but it's not like people are going to really notice it if they are in talking distance to you.

I got this in a sample set and probably wouldn’t have looked at it twice just because of the name and the description, and in the opening I get quite a sweet jammy rose which is gross to me but it fades really quickly. What you’re left with then is a really beautiful spicy, powdery scent, which my partner commented smells like I just had a bath with a bath bomb, really clean and lovely. There’s a tiny bit of a slightly mentholy quality to it which might be the patchouli and might be what people mean by a medicinal smell but to me it’s almost like a slightly masculine shower fresh with clean teeth sort of scent, but the vanilla and rosewood keeps it leaning a bit more feminine. It has great lasting power and sillage, I can still smell it on my clothes after a whole day of wearing it and it’s quite addictive, I keep sticking my nose inside my jumper for a sniff. If you love the smell of your boyfriend or partner and wish you could keep that smell but in such a way that you don’t smell straight up like a man, this might be for you! Weird description I know but the fragrance itself is beautiful and appropriate for lots of different occasions, I might invest in a bottle of this.

[GFB Discovery 8 of 10] Opens immediately with light citrus and a bit of cardamom, softly, whispering, supported by a nice woody scent. I can see the name coming through , desert rosewood, reminding me a bit of fretboard and pau Ferro. Next comes a nice blast of pepper which overtakes both of these, quite strong at first, maybe a bit much even. Warm and spicy wood is the name of he opening. The spices and woods step back to play support to a resiny slightly vanillic benzoin. The spice being most notably the slightly piquant notes similar to rosewood - woody spicy. Some slightly soapy notes under that. Almost waxy, a bit powdery. I really enjoy this one. It's a very different wood tonality than we usually get to see, showcasing rosewood and adjacent. Rosewoods have such a great smell to them, a joy guitarists get to sample often enough, but as a scent a nice time in. More of a skin scent here, don't think it projected much but I'm also not very concerned about projection, as long as it isn't too much.

First proper sampling of Goldfield & Banks Desert Rosewood, a fresh, spicy, woody scent that has citruses, rosewood, cardamom, benzoin, patchouli, and even some vanilla, though it’s not notably sweet. The resins are seemingly at the center, making it robust and classy, a bit of a four-season option that pairs a fresh woody aspect with spicy and dark resins, a bit savory but more so naturalistic and outdoorsy. In its spicy resinousness, it also ever so slightly reminds me of one of the incarnations of Yves Saint Lauren M7, the celebrated men’s release from 20 years ago, but without some of its oud-laden, semi-animalic bite, pivoting instead toward something a bit more herbal and fresh. Desert Rosewood is priced at $190 for 100ml and, as with the rest of the house, is sold at boutiques in the US like Perfumology. Overall I think it’s very nicely done, with very good performance, a classy multifaceted versatile blend, a really sturdy offering for the house. 7 out of 10

Just as the name implies, this is a dry rosewood and benzoin fragrance from head to toe, fairly linear with moderate projection. You'll smell like spicy, almost gingery, incense and soft woods with just a hint of vanilla sweetness (this is NOT a vanilla fragrance, so all the vanilla girlies should sit back down, lol). The effect is thoroughly unique--it's a cozy smell that skews just a bit masculine in its resinous intensity; I recognize notes from traditional men's aftershaves, so beware this does skew a bit mens fragrance. Heck, I'm going to go spray this on my husband and see how it suits him. Keep in mind this perspective is from someone whose collection skews pretty femme (fruity, floral, sweet, etc.). Check out my collection and see to what extent this might impact your experience. Likely to best suit fall and winter months. scent is so linear and so specific, I think I might get tired of this one, even if I used it primarily for work.

Desert Rosewood from niche house Goldfield & Banks is my most favorite from line. Quality perfume from Australia is ambery/woody fragrance that present beautiful facets of local palisander rosewood & benzoine. To me it’s almost a gourmand fragrance with a touch of vanilla/patchouli sweetness and slight bitterness of orange peel (mainly in the beginning). Overall, it’s very well blended with amazing performance 8+ hours, useable for all year long (I used it a lot during beach break, recently). It is unisex but leaning more masculine and after spraying on your skin it will leave “oily mark” that gives me sign of higher oil/perfume concentration. Absolutely recommend, if you look for rosewood fragrance, not as heavy and many times linear oud fragrances. Wearing this you will be different, mysterious and it’s that type of fragrance that elevates my mood. Many compliments received during vacation. Well done Goldfield & Banks!

I think I really like this house - Goldenfields & Banks. So far I've tried few of them, quite impressive. I could really smell the rosewood in it and I've played with many essential oils for many years. I don't understand people said it's like cream soda.. Also, this doesn't smell like Psychadelique (Patch bomb) which I also have, very different. Yes the opening is quite sharp, I don't mind and it will fade away shortly. After the opening, the rosewood will become dominant, with floral and spicy vibe. (that's that features of rosewood) The late-drydown (after 4hour), the cardamon and patchouli started to come out more, but not disturbing. The rosewood was still here. This frag is very woody but also creamy. Not like the fragrance with sandalwood, they are different. Love this, this is a lovely rosewood scent. Longevity is so good. (8+) Sillage is great too!

I had a Hate turned to Love relationship w/ this perfume. That is very uncommon for me. When I first sampled it, I was reminded of a creamsicle, which I actually don't care for. My husband adored this perfume right away and stole my sample. He wore it again recently after he had purchased another sample to wear it again. Now I really kind of like this over sweetened, gourmand, wood, orange creamsicle perfume. I'm buying a mini travel spray, not a full bottle. This is something I will like having around once in a while, when I have a sweet tooth craving coming on. Massive sillage and longevity so the travel 10ml spray will last a long while. If you want a gourmand wood fragrance this, is it, very rich, very sweet, very intense, and very heavy, sticky sweet molten wood.

Cooee, this perfume from 'straya is fair dinkum choc a bloc with Dettol antiseptic liquid and will have you gobsmacked how much it's just like a snake hiding in some trakie daks to rug up, likely to result in the owner of the pants spitting the dummy. You'll be in a good pozzie and having a ripsnorter, as when it drys down it reminds me of a time that this one sheila and a bloke were trying to make some Indian tucker and made the whole sharehouse smell like spices, struth. Av a go of this one if you would chuck a sickie just to eat some Macca's near the airport. Bloody oath I don't want to rev you up too much, but if you prefer chucking a u-ey through a straight line then you better take a squiz. 7/10.

My first time sampling this Australian brand and I am enjoying my maiden voyage with Desert Rosewood. I get a lot of mandarin in the brief opening, and it’s lovely. Then the rosewood and benzoin take over from there. I don’t think this is an incredible composition—it’s just super easy to wear and I can see how this would work for a lot of people. Desert Rosewood feels season-less, especially in my neck of the woods, the Pacific Northwest, where we often have mild summers. I noticed that this scent reminds people of so many others. No one else has made this association yet, but something about Desert Rosewood reminds me of Tocade, the 2013 version from Rochas. I think it must be the patchouli.

I do like this one. It's warm and sweet and spicy without being too warm, sweet or spicy. It's a quite soft masculine scent. I am a little disappointed though. It's not as full bodied and rich as I would've liked. The smell goes a little like a spicy coca cola, which I think is the benzoin. It never really drives me crazy. It does have a mental link to me of some hot Australian day somewhere but I can't put my finger on it. It smells natural and real but just doesn't quite get there for me. Its similar to the Zadig and Voltaire this is him, but more natural smelling. I think it has the potential to wow people, but I'm not quite there yet. It's a like not a love.

I agree w/ the review below, it smells like cream soda or a Cream sickle. Where is the rosewood? This is an expensive Niche brand, I expect more. Disappointed, I will give my sample to someone, but this is not worth the asking price for a full bottle. Edit: My husband really liked this one and I gave him my sample. I don't hate it, but I still think it smells kind of like a cream sickle. He wore it all and enjoyed it very much. It is actually a silage bomb; he filled the house w/ this and got 3 days out of that sample.

You can smell all the listed notes in this frag. It's rosewood forward obviously. Patchouli is very chocolaty and nice along with vanilla smells great. It reminds me Nasomatto Pardon a lot. The cloud these two make smell quite reminiscent of each other but from up close they are different. Overall it smells nice. I wished for a better silage. It's office safe and more suitable for colder days. Smells perfect for mid fall time.

On clothes, a get slightly spicy, mature, Dial Gold antibacterial liquid hand soap. Actually very lovely on a rainy autumn day. Clean, and a touch powdery, but still very warm and cozy without being heavy or cloying. Different than any other 'spicy amber' I have in my collection. The vanilla is VERY subtle, hardly detectable. If you want something that leans feminine and soft-spicy, without being sweet, this is a great choice.

First Spray Impressions: This fragrance starts out fairly strong with rosewood and cardamom with the mandarin orange adding a lighter zestiness. After about an hour the benzoin and vanilla begin peaking through mellowing the rosewood. The additional patcholi makes this fragrance last a fairly long time, at least 6 to 8 hours. While I like the fragrance, I need to wear it a few more times to decide if I want to buy a bottle.

Very interesting pleasant woody smell - the kind of smell that you get from wood musical instruments like violin or guitar. Opening is sharp, but softens rather quickly afterwards so it never becomes annoying. I can smell a touch of herb and spice on the background. This is much better than D.S. & Durga Bowmaker. I like it. Great drydown. Oh and the juice is is deep golden brown so I think it might stain.

M7!!? Maybe a little...if the [idea of] oud was completely thrown out (although it does have that VERY faint Duro-esque leatheriness)! To me it's quite a successful rosewood fragrance (I can only name one other—Palissandre d'Or); benzoin lends strong support followed by patchouli without feeling too hippish, but definitely still got the "I love nature and can still be sexy" vibe.

To me, it is basically a rosewood scent that I can barely detect other notes. At the first sniff, the woody vibe is strong and it is very masculine. After about 5-10 minutes, the woody vibe is not as strong and the scent started to melt into your skin, creating a noble rosewood scent with a sense of sweetness and warmness because of benzoin, though it is very hard to notice.

a very warm fragrance, almost has the faint ghost of incense or a dark church at night infused within it. It definitely has a more woody profile, but ultimately lives up to expectations. I wore this on a day out in which I visited my local cemetery and bought overpriced art supplies from a nearby wealthy neighbourhood. This perfume served me well throughout the day.

In my top 5 from the brand. Very nice warm, resinous, woody-citrus scent. Well blended and smooth. I picture a sunset at a desert when smelling this scent. Good for summer evening as well as for colder months. it's wearable. Nothing extreme. Unisex. It reminds me of category of fragrances similar to Navitus Siesta Drive and Fueguia 1833 Cuentos de la Selva.
