Ingenious Ginger

Not a niche perfume I'd ever thought of even buying despite all the hype it gets on socials but oh my goodness. I was never the biggest fan of the Tygar DNA, just think it's a little overplayed and boring but Ingenious Ginger adds a certain flair to that grapefruit and ginger combo that just makes it so damn appealing and easy to like. Scent: I've heard many different descriptions of people and their Ingenious Ginger scent profile but what I get is a big blast of grapefruit, lemon and surprisingly a very POWERFUL mandarin accord. This opens up very effervescent and fizzy almost like a orange creamy soda that's super refreshing for a hot summer's day (everyday where I live) and it dries down into this nice creamy vanillic scent while still maintaining some of that fizziness that helps it maintain that freshness throughout. Performance: Does the job, especially in high heat. Nothing crazy and excessive, not cloying at all just strong fizzy citruses that can be picked up by the people around you while lasting moderately long. Definitely safe to overspray if you want better projection but by itself it works well enough even without overapplying. Versatility: I would say it's fresh but sweet enough to use for most seasons barring winter as it's not exactly warm but if you wanted to, honestly I think it could be pulled off. Very unisex as well as it's not leaning a specific gender direction with its scent profile. Scent: 9.5/10 Performance: 8/10 Versatility: 9.5/10 Personal Score: 9/10 If you're a frequent citrus fragrance user and are a little bored of that usual scent profile of grapefruit, white florals and woodiness, definitely give this fragrance a sample. Just such a fun yet mass appealing take at a very reasonable price that's rare nowadays for niche perfumes. Makes me want to delve more into Goldfield & Banks' catalogue.

This fragrance has the best opening I've ever smelt before. The gingery-citrus its starts with is so nice, the only issue for me as a guy is that it feels slightly feminine leaning but for how good it smells I can ignore that. It dries down into a creamy vanilla that leans slightly masculine so anyone can wear this. I think it's perfect for an everyday spring/summer fragrance, but that vanilla dry down makes it suitable for fall/winter as well. It was also my first niche fragrance and has made me fall in love with G&B. I would 100% recommend this to anyone who likes ginger or even anyone who likes fresh fragrances in general just because it smells so good. I've gone through about 40% of a 100ml bottle in a few months wearing it sparingly and I'm already planning to buy another the second I finish it off. Closest fragrance to perfect that own, and I'm not sure it'll get dethroned anytime soon. Lastly the performance is solid for how fresh it starts, which makes sense considering the dry down is vanilla but still. It lasts at least 6 hours on my skin turning into a skin scent around hour 7 and lasting up to 8 with lotion. The sillage is alright, I usually use around 6-8 sprays depending on the occasion and temperature. So to wrap it all up its a perfectly unisex fragrance so can work for anyone but if you prefer either masculine or feminine only fragrances I guess I would stay away. Other than that if you're okay with the unisex part for $160 this one is worth every penny. 9.9/10.

As much as I love a good Ginger forward fragrance, I realize this is a ginger that not everyone can handle. Let's start with the obvious this fragrance will undeniably draw comparisons to several others. Ones if you are a frag head you already know the skinny. But it needs to be said, the similarity is there, but the distinction is obvious that they are also opposites apart. The two biggest notes you will get from here is Ginger, & musk. (In my opinion.) It's very overpowering. So, if you are not used to that you've been warned. Now I love this fragrance with a passion. But when a good friend of mine told me she found it off putting it opened my eyes to my bias. Now I can completely understand where she is coming from. It opens up sparkly, and pungent with that melody of citruses, and musk. It does have a slight creaminess. This is beast mode so take that as you will, and with a grain of salt because there will be some who say it's weak. Who is this for? This is for gingers lovers, and those who love that Tygar DNA. You can definitely wear this year-round but will shine mainly in the spring. It may be a little heavy for summer, but wearable. Overall: 7/10 (On a realistic level) 10/10 from my bias lol.

Initially I was in love with this one, but after spending some time with it, I realized it quickly turns into a vanilla skin scent, of which I already have many. The honeymoon phase is over, but the love story isn't. It opens with some fizzy ginger and citruses, but you can smell its creamy, vanillic quality from the get go. It hits you like an MDMA come-up. At this stage I kinda get the comparisons to Vibrato, and calling it a freshie is justified. After the spectacular opening it slowly starts going downhill unfortunately. It remains an amazing scent, just gradually less fizzy and "textured" on top. What stays is an ice cream like, moderately sweet, sometimes even dusty vanilla base, with a whisper of that breathtaking ginger that once defined the scent. At this point it's more of a cozy scent, a soft, warm hoodie embracing you on a cool summer night. Since it's not cloyingly sweet, I can see this being worn in the summer, but not necessarily on the hottest days. I might be wrong though, I'll come back with an update. My Vibrato is on the way too, it will be interesting to compare the two (despite the very different drydowns). 10/10 opening 7/10 drydown

I’ve reached the point where I’m aggressively downsizing, so a bottle only stays if it truly brings something unique to the table. Ingenious Ginger didn’t just stay—it completely blew me away, which is rare for me these days. The ginger here is the key. Goldfield & Banks uses Australian Red Back Ginger, which has a floral, humid quality that feels less like kitchen spice and more like sunlight warming the skin. This is what perfumery often calls a “solar” fragrance—a scent designed to evoke radiant light and warmth rather than simply smelling citrusy or fresh. As it settles, creamy vanilla and a refined patchouli emerge in the background. The patchouli here is fractionated, meaning the earthy, dirty facets are removed, leaving a clean woody structure that keeps the scent polished and completely office-safe. The result is a fragrance with real balance: bright and sparkling on top, smooth and elegant underneath. Most ginger fragrances feel seasonal, but this one works almost anywhere—bright enough for summer yet grounded enough to hold up in cooler weather. In a lineup that’s shrinking fast, Ingenious Ginger easily earns its place in my lineup. Bravo!!!

On paper, the ginger and citrus come across exactly like Vibrato. It’s not just similar, it’s identical, almost as if the same ingredients are used in the same ratios for that fresh accord. The second base layer is different, this one is more vanilla heavy, while Vibrato is not. Still, the vibes are slightly similar. The powdery and creamy aspects of Vibrato can be compared to this vanilla base, and the purpose is the same, softening the freshness with softer sweet accords. It’s blended really well. An example of a failed merge (maybe on purpose) would be Chanel Allure Homme Sport Eau Extreme, where the freshness and sweetness don’t blend but run in parallel, making the sweet/fresh contrast feel edgy. This is the opposite of that, well blended and completely merged. Overall, purely in terms of scent profile, I like this a lot. But I’ll stick with Vibrato, as I’ve used it before, also for performance reasons.

When I first tried this fragrance, it reminded me of a Moscow Mule. Ginger beer, some citrus juice and a splash of alcohol still on the tester strip. The experience was amazing, as I do have the best of times when in contact with Moscow Mules. Some weeks later I bought the fragrance. Similar opening, but a heavier note of bergamot. It disrupts the beautiful harmony of the fragrance I got to know on the tester strips. Still sparkling, spicy and energetic but with a added cleanliness and morning tea feeling, which I would prefer not to have. I hope that as the fragrance matures the bergamot will become less overpowering for me, but for now the fragrance is just great, not perfect. I especially enjoy the Nishane Ani esque dry down, the ginger and vanilla combine really nicely. Also longevity seems to be on par with other lighter G&B creations, 3-5 hours, but Im still testing it out.

Bright. Zesty. Effervescent. I absolutely adore this fragrance - to the point that I'm probably going to make everyone around me sick of it but, I don't care because it makes me feel like I'm sparkling. If you love brightly spiced scents, this is for you. It's quite similar Jo Malones Ginger Beer Cologne, I'd say almost 90% similar - but slightly less woody, and slightly more zesty. The ginger flower and mandarin feature quite prominently at first and pack a spicy punch. But the fragrance softens within about half an hour and becomes quite intimate, the florals (rose, jasmine etc) start to shine through. It's definitely a summer scent but absolutely no one is going to stop me wearing this in winter, you bet I'm going to be brightening up the most dreary of winter days 🤣🤣🤣

Heard the hype, tried it, and it was love at first sniff. This opens up to a nice citrusy ginger. Dries down to a nice vanilla with a woody essence. I kept smelling this fragrance for hours when tested it on my skin. Super addicting scent, at least to me. It lasts around 8 to 10 hours and sometimes it lasted up to 12 hours on my skin, which is really insane for a freshy scent. I used this scent when I go to university, going out to buy some stuff, or even just for a sleep scent. It's great. I really love this thing. Great price also, even for retail. I wouldn't mind paying the price I paid at all. TL;DR Pleasant smell that doesn't scream, but you will definitely will be smelling it through out the day. Great versatility.

Abre sendo literalmente gengibre com um toque citrico do limão e da bergamota, rapidamente evolui para um floral com uma baunilha extremamente deliciosa. Muita gente se fala de Vibrato, não achei muito na mesma linha. Acho o vibrato bem mais cortante e "borbulhante", não que o Ingenious não seja, porém ele é mais confortável por casa da baunilha e do ambar, então acho que acaba tendo uma proposta um pouquinho diferente. Chega num ponto que começo a achar um pouco mais feminino pelo floral que por sinal é muito bom, porém logo depois as notas de fundo já aparecem e ele se mostra mais masculino, porém vejo ele totalmente unissex. Fixação em mim foi em torno das 8-9 horas. E projeção foi bem boa pela proposta.

My wife and I tried this at Scent Bar in NYC in June and fell in love with it on our skin. We visited the store right before rushing to the airport to catch our flight home, and were enamored by its scent on our hands all the way home. We subsequently emptied the little sample we took home with us, so naturally I bought a bottle for us both to enjoy. I love the effervescent, bubbly-spicy quality of the ginger at first spray. It is made sweet, lemony, and creamy. Kind of like a fluffy and creamy lemon cake drizzled in ginger beer. It dries warm and smooth on the skin, making it very alluring yet calming. As with any fragrance, sample first and you’ll avoid disappointment!

Between Vibrato, Tygar, and L’imensite, this is the one that comes closest to the literal Ginger-Ale smell. There’s no other way to describe this other than it smells like a fizzy cup of gingerale but dries down into a creamy delicious vanilla. I hear a lot of complaints about performance but this lasts well around 6-8 hours for me and projects VERY strong for the first 2-3 hours so be mindful when spraying as you may have to re-apply but you definitely don’t want to overspray. Overall i wouldn’t change anything about this fragrance it’s a 10/10 and my personal favorite of all the Bvlgari Tygar/Ginger DNA fragrances on the market

Just bought this fragrance for my birthday... Now i understand what you guys meant by "fanta" 😁 I really want to say something about this company too - am i the only one who truley loves this company ? I mean they send me free testerbottles when new frag comes out. They give out discount codes. They write handwritten letters to thank me for my order. This company seems soo real and humble! i have 2 bottles of goldfield and banks - both are soo uniqe - bohemian lime is God in summer or spring days. First impression of this ginger one is positive too - Going out tonight and will give it more wear!

This stuff lives up to the hype. I love the Grapefruit and ginger DNA, although this isn't my favorite of the bunch. To me, this smells like a ginger cookie. It starts off fizzy and effervescent with the ginger and grapefruit. After about 45 minutes I mainly get a vanilla gingerbread smell and it stays pretty linear after that. Performance is decent, I get about 6 hours. Projection is good, I get about 3-4 feet. I love this stuff and my girlfriend always compliments me on it. Highly recommend if you like the Tygar DNA but want something a bit sweeter and more unique. 9.5/10

Got this in today. It's a gorgeous ginger, citrus and vanilla scent. What's cool about this fragrance is that to my nose, it resembles more Vibrato up close, but from a distance, you can definitely smell the creamy vanilla mixed with citrus and ginger. I like smelling it better from a distance. It starts sharp due to the ginger but it mellows down after around 10 minutes and then you can start to smell the creaminess... I love it tbh. Has moderate projection and lasts a pretty long time on skin. This is definitely a summer signature scent! I give it a 8.8 out of 10

At first, it smelled like that fizzy ginger ale that people talk about, which I liked for about 5 smells. After that, the overbearing ginger made me nauseous. I regretted this at first, but now, it has matured into something greater. It now has this scent of vanilla in the dry-down that lingers on skin for a decent amount of time. I still get that ginger, but not so much that it takes away from any depth that it could have. While it doesn’t last for a notable amount of time, and its projection is meh, I have come to really enjoy the scent profile.

This is an absolutely beautiful fragrance. It's very similar to Vibrato but still its own scent. It's like a classy summer fragrance rather than just another citrus/ginger scent profile. This is done extremely well and very mass appealing. The jasmine and musk really shine in the dry down while the ginger and citrus still hang around making this unique and a perfectly blended fragrance. Easy for me or women but I personally think it is slightly more male leaning. Blind buy safe and there's no way you could not loke this one.

I Fkn love this fragrance. I’ve been waiting a lot of this year after receiving a sample to try in the early weeks of winter to be able to purchase a bottle and use for summer. It is a super refreshing, light, fizzy ginger fragrance with a stunning dry down to a slight vanilla, amber and sandalwood base. The gingers does a good job holding on through from opening to the dry down. An easy go to for the warmer months. 9/10 I look forward to adding bohemian lime to my collection next for another summer / spring fragrance option

A beautiful citrus and ginger fragrance that somehow manages to feel warm and soft at the same time. Don’t expect a typical citrus summer bomb. Instead, think elegant, gently spiced ginger as the star of the show, with the remaining notes playing a supporting role and so seamlessly blended that they’re barely distinguishable individually. The softness, elegance, and warmth give it far more seasonal versatility than summer alone, while performance remains acceptably moderate throughout. A unique must-buy for me, personally.

This is a very likable ginger fragrance...the main perceptible notes include: ginger, vanilla, floral melange, and patchouli...a pretty unique twist on a ginger fragrance...it’s not exactly feminine, but seems to smell more fitting/better on my wife...can be obtained for a good price and is one of the better ginger fragrances on the market Edit: I have since smelled The Hedonist, which preceded this fragrance...this fragrance smells VERY similar to the opening of The Hedonist (as far as the uniqueness)

If you are torn between this, vibrato, tygar or lemmensite, get this. The opening of all of these are quite similar, being a fresh, slightly spicy, but still smooth ginger paired with sparkling citrus. However, it's the drydown of this that makes it stand out. The vanilla gives it this slight warmness and sweetness which is not cloying, blending in nicely with the other notes. Paired with the sandalwood, it makes the drydown very unique. As my 1st niche, im really enjoying this so far.

This is one of the easiest fragrances I’ve ever worn. It’s fresh bright and clean with that ginger note giving it just enough personality without ever becoming too much. The more I wear it the more I realize this is what I wanted a lot of designer fresh fragrances to be because it smells natural and effortless instead of synthetic. If I had to describe it in one sentence I’d say it’s Louis Vuitton Imagination’s laid back cousin and that’s a huge compliment coming from me.

This perfume is simply irresistible and selling out fast. But when considering a purchase, don’t let youtube or comments sway you. Remember two things:- Firstly, fragrance is fleeting, never last forever. Secondly, this platform is for exchanging notes on longevity and personal experiences with the scent and so, NOT for making buying decisions. So take a chance, experience it yourself, but remember to keep your priorities in check and straight. Thank you.

This fragrance is growing on me. I just received it today, so I haven’t given it a full wear yet, but from what I can tell on my skin, it’s a very soft scent. I saw it trending on TikTok, so I decided to blind buy it, and so far, it’s been a good choice. Right after spraying, there is a strong alcohol smell, but it quickly smooths out into a blend of citrus, ginger, and soft floral vanilla. I don’t regret buying this at all. I rate it ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ (5/5).

Got a sample to try out. This is just wonderful! It has a nice bright citrusy opening with a touch of ginger. But the dry down is where Ingenious Ginger really shines. The vanilla comes out and is surrounded by the sandalwood and a touch of musk. It's a very easygoing fragrance. I would wear this in the spring, summer and warm fall days. Will definitely get a full bottle in the future. Performance is very average. Scent - 9/10 Performance - 6/10

Very well put together and beautifully blended fragrance. The balance between the ginger and citrus is done well, nothing feels overpowering. This is an easy and enjoyable wear, I’d say it works well all year round. That said, on my skin it leans slightly more feminine, but I have had feedback that in the air it comes across more balanced and unisex. I blind bought this and I’m not disappointed, especially for the price it’s well worth it.

I bought a 1ml sample of this during the summer. I sprayed it once and I could not stop smiling. I just now decided to get a bottle (50ml) and I don’t know why I waited so long. I should have gotten the bigger bottle... I’ll get through this in a couple months at this point. In terms of smell alone, this is the best smelling fragrance out of my 175+ bottle collection. If it performed better, it would be my favorite fragrance of all time

My signature scent that’s all I got to say! The easiest frag to wear, awesome, creamy ginger vanilla dry down with such a fresh, citrusy opening that isn’t zingy at all in the first 2h. Last between 3-6h depending on the skin type, not the best sillage, but it can be remedied by overspray without the risk of cloying others since it’s such a pleasant smell. If you are looking for the summer Nishane Ani then this is the best frag for you!

Bright and refreshing, effervescent sparkling ginger ale scent. I don't get much citrus. The ginger ale lasts 2-3 hours before revealing a base of light sweetness which is not cloying in heat. Incredible smell, but I prefer to wear something even brighter in the summer. The dry down although excellent is a bit too dark for my preference for a bright summer fragrance. Although the longevity is not bad I wish it would last longer.

Absolute banger. The ginger is warm and comforting, not spicy. The opening citrus brings an effervescence to the perfume that invokes memories of summer days drinking an ice cold ginger beer It then dries down into an inviting amber with the warmth of the ginger continuing to linger. This fragrance takes you on a journey of a hot day with a refreshing drink to a warm hug from a soft blanket on a conversely cool summer night.

This scent smells amazing. People keep saying it’s a summer scent, however, I find that it takes on another loveable character in the cold weather. The ginger comes on so sweet and smooth. But the dry down is where this fragrance shows off. I find it so so creamy and sensual with the sandalwood and vanilla. It is so well-blended, and I can’t get enough of it. It is definitely one of absolute favorite fragrances.

(GF&B Discovery 1/10) - It opens as a nice fresh citrus with a hint of ginger, and then dries down into that same ginger with a cozy musk and amber. Imagine getting right of the shower with a nice warm ginger drink, while snuggled up in a blanket on the balcony looking out at the sunset on the mountains of a slightly cool fall night. It’s fresh and cozy at the same time, perfect for a cool night in any weather.

I'm in love with this fragrance. Gingery, citrus, slightly sweet and airy/fizzy with an addictive vanilla drydown. I'm getting good performance on my skin as well, with moderate projection for the first 5 hours and a strong skin scent up until about the 9 hour mark. Overall just really well balanced and executed, I couldn't say anything bad about it. Probably my first 10/10 fragrance in my collection

Fizzy ginger ale with a creamy touch. It reminds me of Vibrato, but it’s more versatile and actually projects better on my skin. The opening isn’t anything special, but the dry-down is fantastic. I’d mainly wear this in the summer, though it also works surprisingly well on a cold, frosty, sunny day — like a little reminder that summer will come back. Overpriced? Nah. It’s just solid and enjoyable.

The opening of this has the same watery citrusy sweet vibe as afternoon swim, which I love. I don’t get the tygar comparisons at all. Tygar has a bright focused sharp ginger explosion to start. It is the opposite of relaxed. IG is soft and round and sweet. Completely relaxed. A perfect summer vanilla. Decent performance, sillage and projection. G&B has quickly become one of my favorite houses.

I blind bought this when I saw a great sale and it’s a blind buy success story! This fragrance is nostalgia in a bottle. It makes me instantly happy to smell this. Just like a bright, fizzy ginger ale. Longevity and sillage are good for a citrus heavy scent. I don’t pick up any of the patchouli personally, but probably why longevity is decent. A year round stunner - highly recommend!!!

All year rounder for sure. Idk how they did it but the opening on my skin is exactly what i picture a vanilla ginger ale to smell like. Bang on vanilla ginger ale wow. In my opinion this is one of the best vanilla men’s fragrance i have smelt to date. I can’t get enough of it lol i sometimes wear it to sleep; it smells so damn good. 1000/10 this is a gem.

9.1/10 The opening is incredibly strong, just a burst of very sweet candied ginger. That fades quite quickly, then your left with a slightly vanillic citrus scent. Comparing this with turathi blue, this is definitely better and stronger, but the openings of each are quite different. I don't get nearly as much sweetness in turathi blue as I get in this.

This is amazing. Fizzy ginger drink. Really similar to vibrato, and I personally prefer it over IG. However, you can find this all day around $110- $125 on discounters, at that price it is a no brainer. Really refreshing scent, the orange, woods and vanilla blend perfectly. Lasts around 6-8 hours with average projection. Great daily fragrance. 8.6/10

I don’t know how people vote “moderate” for longevity. I sprayed at 8am before work. Projected within arm length for 4+ hours. It is currently 7pm and although faint I can still smell it on my wrist. The smell is 10/10 so good finally having a summer scent that isn’t the typical citrusy woods/aventus-like scent. The perfect daytime scent.

I just got a decant of this and I love it! I sprayed sparingly wearing it for the first time as I wasn't sure how strong it was going to hit. I get ginger, musk and some patchouli which I love. Then I get a whif of something I can't quite catch, but it's not vanilla. At the moment this is on my "love" list. This is an Australian perfume.

I am absolutely in love with this fragrance! I purchased a 50mL but will definitely be buying a larger bottle once I run out, I get about 6-7 hours on skin with about 3-4 decent projection. Great signature scent for the warmer weather but with the added sweetness in the base notes, you can definitely rock this in cooler weather!

Such a beautiful gingery, lemony scent. It really gives off a lemon-ginger pastry vibe (very Nishane-Ani-esque). Warm, slightly sweet, with a nice touch of woodiness that leans it a bit masculine. 8/10 PS: Here's a tip : If you like this kind of spicy, sweet ginger DNA and want something more affordable, check out Spectre Ghost.

goes on like ginger beer fizz. quickly becomes soft, bright, and powdery-sweet, marking the difference not only between ginger and native australian ginger, but between the root and the flower. citrus plays a subtle supporting role to my nose, careful and intentional so as not to outshine the ginger flower. a smile in a bottle

Really good ginger ale smell like so resemblent. Refreshing. People say it’s got good longevity I’ve given it so much chances but it goes through its lifespan in like 5 hours, not even. Might consider selling and getting vibrato instead. Even on clothes it doesn’t last that long.

I think this is my most complimented fragrance ever no joke. Both genders love this fragrance but especially women love this on me. If you care about that at all, this is definitely a compliment machine. I feel it works all year round and it’s the perfect summer fragrance.

This is a signature scent worthy. It is fresh, but the dry down is vanilla sweet, perfect for summer evenings, even days, as i said it is signature scent worthy. Performance is ok, not nuclear but it doesn't have to be. I got it as a blind buy and i am so pleased.

I love this, but quite inconsistently. Some days I love the creaminess as it dries, others I find the ginger at the start too brightly spicy. That said, it’s not like anything else I’ve smelled and the performance is great. A great perfume which boosts mood.

first thoughts, the opening is beautiful but it dries down to an extremely sweet vanilla ice cream scent that is off-putting to my nose. i genuinely prefer Aristo because its vanilla lacks the excessive sweetness. the performance of both is not the best.

This is one of my signature scents. The ginger in it opens bright of course, but it's the dry down that really captures the attention - a creamy vanilla - that is not overly harsh. Very versatile scent that can be worn in both cold and hot seasons.
