Mystic Bliss

You are on a mountaintop with a full sky of infinite glimmering stars to gaze into, your lover stands next to you, wrapped around your arm in equal admiration. Off in the distance the wind blows through a forest while the slight hint of smoke from your fire reaches your senses. Jagged cold rocks reach out tendrils of cool air, tugging at your fur jacket. Yet the entwined warmth of you two persists. This may be the most confusing smell to have ever touched my nose but my god is it beautiful. So confusing it’s hard to describe, the initial soft fruity fig notes have been caught in a romantic relationship with the freezing mint that give it this “cuddling by a fireplace in an igloo” vibe. This scent is extremely cold to me, however I feel if I smelled it again in the winter it would be warm. Extraordinarily polarizing notes that blend into an absolutely captivating experience, soft and heavy, warm and cold, fresh and woody. As a man I would wear this with a full suit and tie, yet I could see this being a hoodie/sweat-pant scent on a woman. While being a cooler scent this is incredibly sexy, very alluring, attention captivating. If a woman was wearing this I’m pretty sure I would be forced to ask for her number. Truly intoxicating 10/10.

I received a sample of this with an order from Goldfield and Banks and it really surprised me how much I enjoyed it! Sometimes the best perfume experiences happen when we have no expectations and no prior information to cloud our judgement. This was the case for me with Mystic Bliss! I'd heard of it but had zero idea what notes it contained and it was not one on my list to try. This is a super fruity and creamy fragrance with lovely sillage and good tenacity. I keep thinking fig perfumes are a bore but creations like this remind me how compelling and wonderful they can be. Mystic Bliss is juicy and fruity, but the incense, orris and woody notes give it a refined elegance that elevates it from the typical 'fruity' territory. This is a stunning creation and one I will now have to consider inviting into my collection!

This was an impulse purchase at the store, I smelled the bottle and I immediately liked it, didn’t sprayed it though. I only bought the travel size and I’m really happy with it (personally I’m not buying full bottles anymore bcs I don’t have enough space and too many bottles already so). At the store I didn’t know the notes but I could smell iris and some woods. Ones I sprayed at home I knew it has fig and I love fig! So I’m wearing it for Christmas or something like that bcs it’s strong and my colleagues already complained on my “too strong scent” so... I love it. It can lean a bit too masculine for some people but I don’t care about that, I think you can feminize it by layering whit some other iris or something.

This was a perfume I got a tester of and have now upgraded to a full bottle. This is such a wearable fragrence and just makes me happy everytime I smell it. This fragrence doesnt get enough love from the Goldfield and Banks range, its such a banger and think it suits any seasons, day or night wear and would work in both a casual or formal setting. The best way I could describe this is that it smells so much like BDK Gris Charnel, except this has a menthol mint note that sets it apart to become a totally different perfume. The mint does not give it a toothpaste or mouthwash vibe, its so beautifully blended with the other notes, it more so gives the fragrance a cooling affect.

Overall, I love this fragrance. I don't think the opening is as special as some of the other Goldfield and Banks fragrances, and I think that is where many others are calling it basic or designer. However, the magic happens about half an hour in where those beautiful aromatics and earthy notes reveal their master formulation. There is a duality as it feels grounding yet uplifting. It does not feel loud but its presence takes up space. It feels like a tranquil spa, but also like a reverent temple. I think the aromatic resins, earthy fruit and fresh herbs blend so beautifully in this fragrance.

Opens with an enveloping, chalky, earthy powder, thanks to some beautiful orris and timber. The fig and cassis accords are complex and herbal, and work wonderfully in tandem with a brightening kick of mint to give an overall ethereal and misty/foggy vibe. My snout may be mistaken; but I think I detect some elemi or olibanum, which is playing on the edge of a lovely tart-ness. I really enjoy this. It reminds me a little bit of bather in the lake by Tamburins, which is a personal fav. VERDICT: Both dry and lush, exotic and palatable. Quite possibly full-bottle-worthy.

Woody and green with sweetness of fig and lovely warm incense. For me this is wood+green more than anything else, but I am still not sure where to place it. Someone mentioned 'elusive', this is a good word to describe it. I can't say it is the most mind blowing perfume I ever laid my nose on, but I did end up wearing it and loving it almost everyday, while some of the more 'wow' ones i barely touch. Beautiful. As it tends to be with Goldfield & Banks, this is magnificently designed, sophisticated and super long lasting.

I was in search of something less sweet and fruity after going crazy for super saccharine scents over the summer and happened upon this beautiful perfume. It's rich and opulent without being totally overwhelming, there's something very reminiscent to lavender for me, maybe the immortelle note, I'm not sure. I find the woodiness is very authentic, it really does make me think of the forests here in Norway. I feel very cosy wearing this.

Fresh sweet watery (dewy, almost waterlily) smell with a touch of minty-ness but then comes thru the creamy woodiness (combination of the fig & cedar). Super lovely for spring & summer! Lasts & projects beautiful, the scent bubble is so gorgeous! Unisex and does lean a touch to the masculine side (due to the cologne-y hint) probably because of the mint note. Some of the 'reminds me of' section are ridiculous.

Oh it's delicious. Herbal fig that descends (or arises) into a grey-lilac-ish mist, tickling your nose here and there for hours - a cool, slightly minty but somehow creamy vibe. I tried it in store last night at 6.30 pm, and today at 3 pm, after a shower, it's somehow still perceptible. It smells very synthetic and otherworldy, which i'm very into atm. If you have a bottle to sell or swap dmmmmm meeeee

Really worth exploring this one - it has many different facets and having worn it a few times over a couple of weeks now I find something new and different to enjoy about it each time. I agree this is a perfectly unisex fragrance and has great longevity. The bottle is a fitting representation of the Aurora Australis and the colour of the twilight skies we often enjoy here in Tasmania 💜

To be honest, I don't get why it has such a low rating. It is an amazing, everyday wearable fragrance. On guy, its a nice woody minty fig fragrance to wear all day and all year long. It's just a simple scent but a little bit overpriced. I will wear it all day long as a signature. +1 The customer service of Goldfield and banks is 1000/10. I cannot say any better.

I received a 2ml tester in The Perfume Guy's scent club mystery box (Black Friday), and this is the one I chose to wear the very next day at work. This is just so lovely! I feel like this scent just matured my fragrance comprehension in the best way. It's a gorgeous, softly-powdery (not too powdery), and fresh- but not too fresh. Man, this is good. Love

The low rating is extremely inaccurate. This is a fantastic cologne, that definitely leans masculine and is everything that the name suggests. It's unique but also mass appealing, lasts a decent amount of time and is office safe, but with some liberal use, it projects well. Don't hesitate to give this one a try.

I dabbed a little of this from my sample on the back of my hand this morning while I was having coffee. Then took a shower to go out for the morning. I had thin wool gloves on and I kept smelling something amazing. It persisted through the shower and I was detecting it through my gloves. Mind blown!

Love this smell, which is great because it. Lasts. So. Long. I have had a few shirts that just continued smelling of this fragrance even after a wash or two. It transfers easily to jackets and sweatshirts. Luckily it's nice but I find it can get overwhelming.

Well blended, uplifting, cosy, office friendly and unique. I like how the fig and mint are well combined. Yet the mint is more into basil. I noticed a moderate sweetness like vanilla I don’t know if it’s because of orris or not. 9/10 highly recommend.

Wow! I really like this one! It's like a fresh, herby version of Azzaro's The Most Wanted. It is a 8.2/10 for me.

#1697 in my “Tour de Fragrance” I think this G&B scent is actually very underrated. Yeah I’m surprised too. I was just discussing G&B fragrances, literally an hour ago, with two fragrance enthusiast friends, especially how we are all puzzled by how ubiquitous G&B scents are given they are generally unimpressive and overpriced. But this has much better longevity and silage than I’ve come to expect from this brand This is a very pleasant, attractive, masculine-leaning, fig-mint-incense combination. I didn’t realize until now how large a role fig plays in my scent collection. I have 22 scents where you’d say fig is the dominant note. Toss up for me which is best in this price range, this “Mystic Bliss”, Mancera “Fig Extasy”, Mancera “Fig Me Up” or Theodore Kalotinis “Alluring Fig.” But if money were of no concern I’d probably chose BDK “Gris Charnel” or the harder to find Agatho “195 a.C.” which in the last year has doubled in price. But this is a nice, attractive, good quality scent that I think works year round, for date wear in particular, though you could get away with this in a formal office. I really don’t need another fig scent, but if I did, this would be a good choice. Good Luck and Good Hunting!

ABOUT MYSTIC BLISS As the name of the fragrance suggests, this darling was a MYSTIC HAPPINESS for me. I won it in a raffle on the Sniff app, and it arrived today, one day after my birthday. A pleasant surprise and a wonderful gift. I can smell a more herbal, woody side in the top notes, quite refreshing, coming from the mint note. At the beginning, it has a certain tendency towards the masculine side. In the body of the fragrance, the powdery/fruity fig brings comfort, it seems to embrace the skin. At the top notes, I can smell a slight incense touch, which really reminds me of something mystical. If I were to reflect and bring back memories of other more well-known scents, I would dare say that Mystic Bliss reminds me of a mix between Santal 33 and Thé Noir 29, both by Le Labo. A versatile, unisex perfume (with a more masculine initial side) and extremely powerful.

This opens with a beautiful combination of fig and mint that feels fresh, green, and effortlessly elegant. Underneath, I get a creamy base (possibly sandalwood?) with a subtle smoky touch that adds depth without ever becoming heavy. There's also a hint of coconut to my nose, which gives it a summery feel, although I can easily see it working on cooler days as well. It's very office-friendly, truly unisex, and has a refined, easy-to-wear character. The first thing that came to mind was that it smells like the love child of You or Someone Like You and Sous le Pont Mirabeau, both from Etat Libre d'Orange: the first very minty and the latter a marine fig.

The opening smelt extremely feminine to me, in a similar way that Erba Pura does. Very sweet, fruit and powdery. The dry down however is where this starts to shine, with a woody incense vibe. The sweetness is still there but the powdery aspect dies down. It certainly moves more towards unisex after the first 30-minutes. If you don't mind a slightly feminine leaning unisex vibe, this one is for you. I will wear this as a man but would also love it on a woman. Performance is strong with it lasting 8+ hours on skin and much longer on clothing. The projection is also amazing, with a long scent trail for hours, without being too cloying.

(GF&B Discovery - 6/10) Mystic Bliss is a smoky wood incense type scent. It started out as a floral like barber shop type scent, but quickly evolved into the incense scent. The soft florals in this blend well with the fig and mint, giving a unique take on a smoky wood scent. “Mystic” is the best word to describe this scent. Like a night in the woods looking up at the stars with a campfire burning by you. It’s kind of like the inside of an Aesop store if you understand that. Smoky but not overpowering, it’s a nice scent

Got a decant of this for the notes which looked amazing. My experience of it was somewhat confusing. I'm definitely getting a creamy fig and sandalwood type of fragrance, similar to Thé Noir and Paragon, but also hit with all this pepper that reminds me of something designer, like Scandal? I think this is worth a try, but don't expect anything revolutionary, just a soft creamy sweet fig fragrance with moderate performance. 7/10

I agree somewhat with the reviewer below me, it does give a kinda "forest after rain" kinda feel but more focused on the woody part than the whole forest, the Fig is quite nice in this and adds much needed sweetness too, overall it's quite clean, and a pleasant iris-wood-clean somewhat smokey scent in the drydown with nice projection and longevity. Overall it's a 7/10 for me

I cannot stop smelling my wrist. This is so interesting- definitely getting a lovely fig along with that orris/cedar base, but it's got an herbal freshness to it as well. Perfectly unisex...this could be worn year round. Might become a full bottle buy. By "might" I mean definitely.

Fig is my favorite fruit in scents, and I usually like anything with it—and Mystic Bliss is not an exception. File this under easy to wear. Mint is prominent in the opening, which I would describe as refreshing. Then a sweet fig pulp takes over. Moderate performance, nice scent.

A nice little freshie that sits decidedly unisex. This is one of those fragrances that I'd never buy a full bottle of--especially at retail, but I would buy and rock the hell out of a 5 ml sample, wait a few months, then rinse and repeat. 7/10.

It’s quite a complex scent: it’s fresh and sweet, but also quite floral. Moreover, it has a green tart one of fresh cassis leaves with makes it very unique. I really enjoy the green part, but the heart seems a bit too heavy and floral for me.

My most liked G&B scent to date. If you've smelled a few, you will recognize the dna and style here. Cassis and mint lead off, followed by a green note and slight sweetness, delicately edged in incense and sage. Office-safe and unisex.

A powdery-creamy, aromatic, woody fragrance that feels both natural and ethereal. It blends fresh green and woody notes with a misty luminescence. Like lying on a meadow under the Milky Way, touched by a warm breeze.

This is Mint, Iris, and Cedar, to my nose. I don't really get Fig. Maybe Fig Leaves but not Fig Fruit. The longer the wear, it becomes like a typical strong generic smelling men's woody fragrance.

Lovely creamy woody scent which is grounding and aromatic, very unisex and perfect for autumn.

Smells like a nice fig shampoo or conditioner. Maybe fabric softener? Not in a bad way.

Testing Mystic Bliss from an official 2 ml Goldfield&Banks sample. The pyramid note listed here on Fragrantica shows less notes than the cardboard wrap of my sample has: kunzea, frankincense, pink pepper, cardamom, immortelle, clary sage, caramel, geranium, fig, orris, cassis, cedar wood, labdanum and sandalwood. In all honesty, I don’t detect half of these notes when I’m sniffing the scent on skin. The opening of Mystic Bliss is all about the fig for me. A beautiful fig fruit, not fig leaf, with a hint of sweetness naturally associated with this Mediterranean fruit. Then it moves towards a minty, aromatic phase combined with cassis leaves, so it feels more fresh, green or herbal. It’s certainly a dynamic perfume that changes quite a bit. As far as the novelty note of Mystic Bliss, the Kunzea plant, I can’t comment on it since I am not familiar with this exotic species. In the dry down, it has a very smooth orris root note mixed with woods. Maintains the green, aromatic aspect of the opening but gets more nuanced. As a first impression, I can’t detect any incense, labdanum, caramel, immortelle or geranium in this. Has no smoky, sweet nuances whatsoever in my opinion. As a longtime fan of Goldfield&Banks perfumes, I’m not crazy about this. Not necessarily because it’s not as feminine leaning as the other scents I have from them, but because it’s not my scent type. For me personally fig is a bit of a tricky note, sometimes I like but most of the times I don’t. And here, it’s not doing much for me, like the rest of the notes don’t. It’s definitely less mass appealing than previous releases, but it’s not a a bad composition or off putting perfume. Sadly, this lacks the spark, the sweetness and the juiciness the other G&B have for me. Performance is great on Mystic Bliss, I can still detect it on my skin 9 hours later. At this stage has really faded, to the point of being a skin scent. Moderate sillage. So if this kind of scent profile it’s your thing, Mystic Bliss is a good one. Well done Goldfield&Banks! Edit 15.12.2024: Received for free a 10 ml travel size of this with an online order I have placed last week. I am going to give Mystic Bliss a few wears to see if it is full bottle worthy or not.

Mystic Bliss by Goldfield & Banks Goldfield & Banks is a house that consistently draws me in with its captivating aesthetics, though I haven’t explored much of their lineup yet. My thoughts here are based on two wearings from an official sample, offering a snapshot of my experience with Mystic Bliss. On paper, this fragrance seemed incredibly promising, but unfortunately, it fell short on my skin. While sandalwood isn’t listed in the official notes, it emerges as a dominant player—creamy, green, and grassy, with a distinctly herbal undertone. The composition immediately brought Santal 33 to mind, sharing a similar vibe that’s likely to appeal to fans of that profile. However, I found the scent lacked evolution. From start to finish, it stayed focused on herbal sandalwood, offering little in the way of development. As it dried down, it leaned sweeter but took on a more generic "department store" perfume feel. I couldn’t help but wish for a touch of dusty orris or some smoky incense to add depth and intrigue. While Mystic Bliss is undoubtedly well-crafted, it didn’t resonate with me personally. I’d rate it a solid 5/10—pleasant but not memorable enough to justify a full bottle for my collection. *Disclaimer This particular fragrance is not a part of my collection, my experience with it is limited.

The creamy woodiness as well as the fig and mint are strongest in this for me. The fig note is a bit overpowering on opening, especially combined with the mint and cedar (and maybe the kunzea as well?); the orris in the base also amplifies the cedar to me so at times it felt like it was competing with the mint note. I did like it much better on the dry down, especially when layering with Nearly Noon from DefineMe since I found they complemented each other well and mellowed out some of the harsher notes of each. I have the dabber vial of Mystic Bliss (both, actually) and am curious if I'd like it better in an atomizer so I could try layering it more lightly. Elements of this fragrance reminded me of Dí Palomo's Wild Fig & Grape (specifically the figgy, green and iris-y accords as well as some of the amber) which I had a bottle of for years and loved, and is now pretty hard to find in the US; I don't pick up on much fruitiness from this, though, and it's a bit more woody and sweet than fresh to me.

This is a really.. inneresting smell :) I'm not sure that it reminds me of something so beautiful and etherial as aurora is - I would expect something chilly, refreshing, alien, celestial. Which this is not. It's definitely unique, multidimensional. There is a herbal aspect to it and cardamom is quite prominent, while fig dominates. I don't know how kunzea smells, so I cannot comment on that. I feel like this scent is contradiction to itself, it has this sharpness while on the other hand it lends softness. I also get mint in the opening. I think it leans a bit more on the masculine side, but can easily be worn by women. Fig strongly reminds me of Jo Malone's Fig & Lotus. Maybe it's quite perfect for fall.

I bought a small decant of Mystic Bliss because the notes sounded interesting, and was somehow disappointed in how this smells like a few other perfumes, while maintaining a vague designerish vibe. Even if I didn't end up wholly disliking this, I would not buy a full bottle nor a travel size. The mint in the opening is very refreshing, but it quickly gets overpowered by a sort of chemical smell that I can't quite attribute to one of the notes listed here. As it dries down, Mystic Bliss echoes Gris Charnel's dirtiness for me, and that makes me like it even less.

Sadly this doesn’t live up to its name. No mystical bliss to be had, simply a gentle earth and wood scent. It reminds me of Replica’s Autumn Vibes. Update: I gave this to my mother and she loves it! Mystical bliss for her instead...

My first impression of this is that of a generic "designer" smell (from a niche house?). Not unique and not right for me.

This is pretty much Aura Sensuelle by Mugler in the drydown.

First sniff: "This smells like a drunk chick passed out on my bathroom floor." It smells like a cheap body spray: Ambiguously fruity, and too sweet, with an unpleasant base that reminds me of a skeevy bar. Dry down: "Now the same chick has gone to the spa the next day for some detox, and she has cucumbers on her eyelids." The dry down is significantly better, due to some freshness, but it's still overly powdery to me. I was really disappointed in this one. Just got a sample from Twisted Lily, and based on the notes and the suggestions here, I was looking forward to trying this! But on the card it is pretty revolting to me. I haven't tried it on my skin, because I feel like the opening is too much for me. Not a fan, sadly. But who knows, maybe I'm wrong! I just wouldn't blind buy this if I were you!

From the list of notes, I expected a clean and fresh scent, but it’s actually the opposite. It smells sweet and milky, especially in the dry down. There’s also a bit of that distinctive hair salon smell.

If you enjoy smoky, resinous-like wood fragrances you will enjoy this! I don’t get the mint and I get only a faint fig.

Smelt this in store and genuinely this was the most revolting fragrance I have ever smelt. It brought me back to my childhood when my mother would feed me this vile orange flavoured (and coloured) multivitamin syrup. It was absolutely vile and to be quite honest I this memory isn't something I often recall but this fragrance took me right back. Absolutely disgusting. Really surprised that there are lots of positive reviews, but hey whatever floats your boat! This fragrance sunk mine. Also kinda gagging at the thought of it.
