Silky Woods was released in April 2021 and its fragrance was created by Hamid Merati-Kashani (Firmenich). The inspiration came from the story that talks about the first visit of the botanist Joseph Banks to Australia, in 1770. There, he discovered exotic plants and ingredients, yet unknown to science. Silky Woods inaugurates a new pillar, a new Exclusive Collection called Botanical Series, bringing to the world a creation that exploits the Agarwood, as well as other precious wood species from Australia, such as Sandalwood Spicatum, for example. But don't be fooled: it's not just “another fragrance with OUD”, but a composition that makes use of the Aquilaria trees from the Daintree rainforest in Queensland, which are exploited using sustainable methods (keyword of the current scenario). According to its founder, it is the first perfume on the market to explore Australian agarwood. Silky Woods is classified by the company as an oriental-gourmand perfume, full of exuberance and sensuality, capable of carrying soft and silky wood tones from sunrise to sunset. To this end, notes of Ceylon cinnamon, saffron, suede, Australian OUD, Madagascar ylang-ylang, jasmine, Tahitian vanilla, tobacco leaves, frankincense, and Australian sandalwood were combined. Silky Woods brings that kind of fragrance that every luxury collection should (and must) have. At the same time, I believe some will say it's not innovative, but I disagree! Goldfield & Banks didn't have anything like it in its portfolio, not to mention the bottle, which was created by the master glassmakers of La Glass Vallée (France) and comes lacquered in gold, as a tribute to the Australian Gold Rush. What can be said is that the brand has now a fragrance that matches the competition (niche segment) when the intention is to explore the heat of amber and incense, without having to rely on that old concept of desert and Arabian nights. On my skin, Silky Woods is a suede delight soaked in creamy and floral vanilla, sprinkled with spicy saffron and a cinnamon note that plays between the sweet and the salty. An oriental (despite this term is being banished) of pure quality, with balsamic and aromatic tobacco leaves, which enhance the masculine spirit of the fragrance, while the ylang-ylang flower defends feminism and equal rights. Merciless and opulent, she combines very well with the exotic note of vanilla, and, together, they show delicacy and sensuality. Its OUD doesn't have those medicinal nuances, nor is it excessively woody and dark. On me, it highlighted the sweetest tones, almost like chocolate. Finally, a creamy sandalwood and a slightly smoky incense exhale like a warm sigh between two passionate panting mouths. Silky Woods makes me believe that there are still good reasons to remain in love with the world of perfume. It is an ode to fragrances that make use of good raw materials, especially a creamy and quality vanilla, different from those synthetic and full of syrup aspects that abound today. Not to mention the high concentration, which results in great projection and excellent durability. Without a doubt, it has already become one of my favorites of the house. And if you are one of those Brazilians/foreigners who go in search of novelties, including in other countries, I strongly suggest you consider Goldfield & Banks Australia creations. Not to mention the high concentration, which results in great projection and excellent durability. Without a doubt, it has already become one of my favorites from the house. And if you are one of those Brazilians who go in search of new things, including outside the country, I strongly recommend considering the fragrances from Goldfield & Banks Australia. omg this is straight up a MIRACLE!! just stopped by a lovely perfume shop today to find a hypnotic white floral scent for my grown ass, then out of nowhere I tried this, which had NOTHING to do with a floral. and boy... OH boy... WHAT THE H WAS THIS??? I've been wearing countless perfumes for over 16 years now, even worked at a shop as a seller at one point, and I have NE-VER came across a scent like this! it's very very hard for me to buy sth immediately after I try it but I just couldn't leave the shop without it. the wood notes in this are very heavy. straight up smells like a very pleasant and unique tree which is also mixed with a very pleasant and sexy vanilla. I'm a woman with hard edges that dares wearing striking fragrances even for my morning coffee and this is sth I wouldn't be able to miss. super pleased to see they had a 10 ml travel size version so I got it before I'd splurge for the full size bottle. but oh man. this is IN-CRE-DIBLE!! I'm getting ready to celebrate my birthday at a rooftop bar with an incredible view with all my best friends. this fragrance will be my scent of the night, becoming a part of my look with my gold flower embroided white, schiffon dress and gold heels. such an outfit deserved a scent like this, as the scent itself is a golden flower embroided, very well made, white schiffon dress in a bottle. silk, schiffon, specks of gold, and glam... I LOVE this!! it's incredible! also, lasted around 6 hours on me. not disappointing as I'd have no issue reapplying this for the whole world to take a whiff off of me if it'd wear off sooner anyway. I'm truly grateful for everyone who has a hand in making this beaut come true. and sending it my way to become a part of my life.

First thing first that i’m sure some people are looking for opinions on is personally i like the og better than the elixir. I have used samples of both, but to me the elixir is too dirty for me, i like the og more because it’s a simple dry woody vanilla fragrance that really isn’t complex but just simple and neat and enjoyable. I recently bought this and it just came yesterday, while i do love this fragrance, most of my complaints actually form from the bottle itself, not the smell or performance but the actual bottle, surprisingly. I might just be very picky but i mean i paid $150usd and the bottle came nicely but where the atomizer connects to the top of the bottle, it’s not flush with the top, there’s small edges that aren’t fully connected to the bottle and it throws me off and just gives me cheap vibes. Next, the cap, at least on mine, doesn’t stay on when i hold the bottle by the cap, out of all of my fragrances this is the only one where the bottle slips out of the cap when only holding the cap, I do have the 100 ml and my 50 ml bottle of sunset hour does not have the same problem so i’m assuming it’s solely for the fact it’s a bigger bottle duh lol, but still annoying bc all my other 100ml bottles hold up just fine. next, it is SUPER hard to see how much is actually in the bottle, i have to be in a pitch black room with a bright flash light up against the bottle to even remotely see inside, even then it’s nearly impossible, i get it that the point isn’t to see the juice but i mean i can see inside my musk therapy and vibrato easily. i’m just being picky but smell wise i love it lol.

This is a 10/10 for me. I hate notes of suede and saffron, but somehow adore this because it's SO smooth and well-blended. Silky woods is an apt name for it. I do pick up similarities to Althair, but I hate Althair because of the prominent, scratchy, rough orange blossom and sickeningly sweet praline. This is WAY better and more expertly blended. Althair is very clunky by comparison. Vanilla Woods from the 7 Virtues is the poor, hillbilly cousin to this - it pales in comparison - it's not as complex, has a very ashtray-esque smokiness to it, the performance is terrible, and it dries down to smell like raw beetroot. This is the most superior version of this kind of complex, woody vanilla. It's definitely not gourmand, I don't know what people are talking about, but the vanilla IS sweet, which I think helps make it truly unisex - I'm female and just bought the 100ml because I love it so much. Probably my favourite woody vanilla. Not blind-buy safe though, as I've heard people say that they find the wood dirty-smelling in here, but I don't get the stinky wood element at all, just beautifully blended tahitian vanilla, woods, and barely there, smooth suede. Also, for the people saying it's weak - I was nose blind at first and confused because many said it was Beast Mode, and fast forward a month later, I could smell it in all its glory and every time I wear it, someone standing arms' length away from me compliments me. So clearly it projects.

I had to delete my earlier review because boy was I wrong about this perfume. It was love at first sniff and I had never ever smelled a perfume as well blended as this one. It was like I could smell the texture of the smoothest cashmere blanket ever. It truly is unique in that way I and don’t know many perfumes that are blended this well. Bought a full bottle that day and when I came home I couldn’t smell it anymore. I was SO disappointed! A week later I sprayed again and gosh there was it again. The creamy vanilla mixed with the best balance between oud and tobacco. I can definitely smell the tobacco and I LOVE it. It enhances the vanilla note and gives it a grown up sweetness. It’s not a sickening vanilla at all. I can smell the oudh in this too. It’s in de middle notes and in the dry down. It’s such a good quality oudh that gives this scent a unique dryness. This is amazing and it has replaced my scent that I have been using for years. I don’t get compliments on this scent but I LOVE it and I love that it sits close to me without being cloying. Absolute star struck with the scent and the perfume house!

Revisiting my 2 ml sample of Silky Woods, nearly two years later from my first test, gave me the chance to appreciate this more. And I have changed my mind on it because I get now more than just a very skanky oud. It’s still not the most vanilla centric fragrance for me, the most mass appealing and easy going but has equal parts of vanilla, I get the florals from the heart notes, the sandalwood and the cinnamon. It’s not just an overwhelming, intense oud. It’s a like now, not a love! What it’s absolutely phenomenal about Silky Woods is the longevity. I have sprayed this three times on my arm at two in the afternoon and I could smell it very easily next day around ten in the morning. So the performance on this is undeniably impressive. Silky Woods beats without a doubt all the other Goldfield&Banks front my collection, even though I prefer the others scent wise to this. I am at the point where I am considering getting a travel size of Silky Woods for my collection, just waiting for a good deal. So yeah, some fragrances do grow on me in time! Now I understand the hype around Silky Woods!

I was not a 100% sure I will like it but actually I love it. Opening is just beautiful - smells like sex on fire with marshmallows being somewhere around you (like MM By the Fireplace minus the burnt scent and added more vanillic sweetness). After a while suede & oud note becomes softer, "silky" - leading to cinnamon (yet not spicy) vanilla with a hint of saffron (supremely well blended). Very sexy, very classy, not suffocating vanilla, no sharp edges. well rounded, cashmere sweater (sandalwood) cozy type of vanilla (yet intriguing). Probably not crazy projection but I think it's one of the "sexiest" scents in my collection and I am definitely a vanilla type of a girl (Babycat, Librery Hot Sand, Burberry Goddess Intense, Dior Addict etc....) - this one is hot but not loud!

I really can't reconcile the negative reviews with Silky Woods. This is my #1 Vanilla scent (2nd is Habit Rouge). Silky Woods was an instant purchase soon after testing. It smells like good quality natural vanilla bean with a smoky seductive suede/leather base. Some vanilla frags lack woods to anchor them and some are nuclear though synthetic and nauseating. Sure, Silky Woods isn't beast mode but sophistication doesn't wish to scream. And if longevity is an issue for you then decant into travel atomisers and spritz spritz spritz! This is art, my darlings. I also own Wood Infusion from this House and have come to appreciate their unique style. Edit: Un Bois Vanille has replaced Silky Woods for #1 Vanilla spot followed by #2 Stronger with you Leather.

insane insane insane, SO good. however, when someone reviews this fragrance and claims that it's really accessible and easy wearing, I have to disagree. there is a SAVIOR fluffy vanilla note that really rounds out the oud, tobacco, and suede, but make no mistake, all three have real Presence in this perfume. they all have their role and you WILL smell them. this is a very cold perfume, it feels like being in the middle of an industrial factory in the middle of the night, it smells like a cold pitch black cigar shop, it feels sludgy and grimy. there is nothing animalic about the oud, which is a godsend. moody and slightly inaccessible, enough so to keep me coming back and keep blowing my little mind. true grower, expertly crafted and blended

This fragrance's name is aptly suited to its scent profile. I smell a smooth, silky, leathery, woody vanilla that's extremely addictive. However, I would caution against blind-buying, as this blend may not appeal to everyone - the suede and oud, in particular, might be overwhelming. Personally, I'm not typically drawn to oud, but this was a pleasant surprise. The scent exudes luxury and elegance, with a dry down reminiscent of intricate saree fabric, replicating a silky accord alongside deep, woody suedey vanilla notes. Its uniqueness is striking - nothing in my collection comes close. I appreciate the subtle sweetness, different from typical vanilla fragrances. This scent is perfectly unisex. Definitely FB worthy.

Goldfield & Banks Silky Woods is so well blended—smooth, decadent and effortlessly luxurious. The velvety vanilla is rich but never overpowering with a touch of spice and a beautiful slightly smoky oud. When you think of vanilla you usually expect something super sweet and heavy only wearable in winter but this is completely different. The brand calls it an exotic vanilla and that’s exactly what it is. It’s warm but airy rich but never cloying and so much more versatile than your typical vanilla scent. I can totally see myself wearing this on a summer evening abroad sun-kissed in a light shirt and shorts with this wrapping around me like a golden glow. It’s effortlessly cool and seriously addictive.

This one is truly fantastic! I sprayed it once in a perfume shop and completely forgot about it, until I suddenly caught a scent that felt intoxicating, warm, and deeply cosy. Vanilla – yes, but not edible. Think of an elegant woman with fire in her eyes – that’s this kind of vanilla. The suede isn’t prominent to me, but it adds a sense of a soft, cosy cloud, something luxurious and velvety. I was waiting for my 10 ml to finally compare it with Somnia 517. At first, they felt quite similar for me, but no. Silky Woods is more rounded, more smooth. They clearly belong to the same olfactory family and do share some similarities, but I’ll definitely stay with Silky Woods.

I really love this. It is in the same family Vanilla Woods by The 7 Virtues, except that this hangs around for a lot longer and feels more complex and deeper. I am a huge fan of a woody vanilla and this ticks my boxes. It’s got slight spice, tobacco, saffron, a bit of resin-y edge. I do find it quite expensive but it’s worth it for a fragrance that I love. My husband is not a fan, for what it’s worth...but I don’t wear my scents for him anyway (soz hun). It can take on a slightly medicinal/TCP air if oversprayed - but it depends on the day/mood/skin chemistry. Overall, I enjoy having this as part of my collection and I am looking forward to a woody winter.

this is absolutely amazing holy shit. I get no oud tbh it's just vanilla extract + slight tobacco to me. For what it is, and that i got 100ml for $100, this is probably running up to be my signature soon. I've had it for like 3 months and ive been running through it. however i WILL say that mercedes benz club black is like a 1:1 to this almost, just a lack of longevity for my batch of club black. doesn't take away from the quality of this fragrance from beginning to end though, it doesn't transform much but it's addicting for not only yourself but those around you as well. 9.48/10

Love! To me this is a soft and Powdery sophisticated Vanilla, slightly sweet and slightly smookey. Very smooth, less smokiness and more of a true powdery Vanilla in the dry down. I can absolutely ser the similarity between Silky Woods and the 7 virtues "Vanilla woods" but Silky woods has more depth, woodyness and less sweetness. It stays for many hours on my skin, compared to for example "Bianco Latte" from Giardini de Toscana which unfortunately disappears kinda immediately (I love it though so I spray my clothes 😅) from my skin.

Having disliked vanilla in perfume for the longest time, I came around and embarked on a quest for a vanilla to call my own. Trying many strong contenders from both niche and designer houses, I was drawn to the richness of Silky Woods and its enveloping suede. Smelling like how a double bass sounds, it’s slightly resinous, with hints of oud and tobacco rounding out the composition, but it’s the sweet vanilla and luxurious suede that dominate. The lasting power is incredibly impressive, too, and it settles impeccably.

I’m baffled by the negative reviews for this. This is stunning. It's smooth, natural, and so lovely blended that trying to pull apart individual notes almost misses the point. I cannot smell anything artificial. It's perfection and restraint - a finished idea rather than a collection of ingredients. Its soft and warm, comforting and addictive. I wore this a lot over winter and my man remembered it months later from a single sniff. Most perfume is bush league compared to this.

This is a “dressed up“ vanilla with the perfect amount of woody notes ( which I usually struggle with) , and the more it sits on the skin the more dimensions are being unveiled. I sampled it in the store and I loved it , but After reading the reviews below , I’m thinking of buying a sample size to check the performance (Sillage +longivity) . If this fragrance checks all the boxes ✅✅ ... I don’t think it will stay for too long in my wishlist 😍

Tried a sample of this a few months ago, not expecting much given the conflicting reviews, but oh my, this is gorgeous! I couldn't stop thinking about it, so had to get a full bottle. On me this is a slightly fruity, spicy, custardy, woody vanilla. It's so sexy, warm and delicious. I get a hint of the slightly medicinal saffron in the opening, but just enough for it to add a nice depth without being off putting.

I didn't think I would like this as much, but gosh this is sooooo beautiful. Silky, smooth, woody, dark, sweet but not too sweet, vanillary, with a hint of tobacco and oud. Yes there are some florals in this, but they are definitely in the background. I just love how much depth this fragrance has and how perfectly blended this is. I've smelt a few hyped niche fragrances, and this and Bianco latte are top tier.

The perfumer is such a master in making vanilla smells gourmand, airy and expensive, unlike the generic powdery vanilla. He did it with Althair so I tried this out. Immediate stunner! Interestingly I also smell fruity note like red jelly bean. Can clearly smell suede and oud together with vanilla too, excellently blended. If you like intimate perfume but still intoxicating, this is for you.

I love this scent - it's creamy, smooth, and delicious. It's like a niche version of Vanilla 28 by Kayali or a lighter, creamier version of Vanille Antique by Byredo (both of which are faves of mine). They're all in a similar dominant vanilla profile, with a woody base. Don't listen to the haters on the thread - this is an incredibly well-blended, cosy, scrumptious woody vanilla.

This would have to be the most perfectly named fragrance. It is exactly how it sounds. Such a seductive and rich smell that is just so smooth. It does open a little too heavy on the oud imo but after about 30 minutes the rest of the journey is just so smoooth. The dry down becomes the most heavenly and lingering vanilla scent that last a long time. Truly fantastic. 8.3/10.

The weather has finally changed and allowed me to pick up this one again! This is just my absolute favorite adult vanilla perfume. It's sweet, but not juvenile sweet, and the suede, tobacco, and saffron adds such a gorgeous depth to it. I can totally understand that it could be too woody for some peoples liking, but I love it though :D Definite 10/10 for me.

After years of wanting it, then hating it, then wanting it, I finally got it & love it!!! I'm loving the smooth, creamy vanilla/suede combo. Nothing harsh or screechy, just very smooth & balanced. The notes are all working together and the blend is so well executed!. Great for colder months as it's a warm fragrance. The reminds me section is just crazy!

Can someone please explain to me what in this gives off the warm smell? Is it the spice? Is it something my juvenile nose can't decipher? I love it and it want more like it. I absolutely do not get bandaid, gasoline or insulin notes from it. I get luxurious, creamy, warm vanilla. I immediately bought a full size bottle after trying the sample.

My goodness. When I got this for Christmas I thought it would be just a lame vanilla, but I am blown away. The suede and oud blend with this powdery, silky vanilla and it just blows me away every time I smell this stuff. I think this could be perfectly unisex, but the suede makes it a touch masculine. Such a banger and needs more recognition

The opening is very similar to Vanilla woods. Leather and saffran notes appears few minutes later. Very pretty scent, so well blended. Its very classy vanilla scent. Suede note is soft and silky, not nauseating. Suede notes brings freshness to it. You can wear it in the summer, when its fresher outside. This scent stunning and addictive.

This is beautiful, warm, woodsy vanilla scent. It is perfect for winter, though it can be worn whenever. I love it! It is long lasting, especially if you spray it on hair and clothes. Silky woods elixir is also good but much stronger and i think silky woods is better. If you like vanilla scents, this perfume is a must.

The name describes this scent. It's soft and enveloping. The wood is smooth and polished. The leather note is delicate and sprinkled with vanilla. It's more of a suede. I also detect a slight hint of spices and tobacco. I love it and smell it at home when I relax. The scent is long-lasting, but the sillage is minimal.

Love at first sniff! It’s such a smooth vanilla-tobacco-suede smell. The name really match what my nose experiences. Not a blind buy though, there is a smoothness a bit of bitterness from the Safron, which could be unpleasant to some. If you are a YSL Babycat fan you will definitely enjoy this smoky vanilla.

This was love at first sniff for me. A creamy and vanillic/powdery sandalwood. Although real sandalwood is not at all like this. But it is still quite enjoyable. I don't get any leather, tobacco, or oud at all. I see it mostly as a vanilla, cream, sandalwood fragrance and not much else.

I got a sample of this and I really like it but it was driving me crazy because I swore it smells like something i already have, I only realized when i visited this page that it smells like a much more wearable cocoa morado lmao, definitely gonna be getting this as a replacement

This fragrance oh silky woods, this vanilla, woody, and leathery smell makes me do devious stuff to my friends and family. If you buy this fragrance then you will be attracting men more than women, the feeling of the wetness on your neck makes me cream in many diffrent ways.

This smell so nice on my skin with warm, soft and cozy vanilla. Not too sweet. I immediately in love with the scent. This one will be easy reach vanilla scent for me. The only thing I dislike is that it's very weak, not projecting at all. Last only 2 hours on me.

Perfectly unisex. With the most prominent notes being vanilla, suede, oud and tobacco. I get a little bit of sandalwood and saffron throughout wearing as well. This is smooth, rich, and smoky. The sillage isn’t great but I get a minimum of 8 hours of wear time.

I’m trying to like it, after blind buying a full bottle - I really am. All I get is barnyard in the Deep South (or Australia, given the origin ??) 😆😆. The drydown has a funky kick that lingers and makes me invisage a Cowboys boot 🙈. Ah lord, I think I hate it.

I hate hype, but this bottle deserves it. It's unique, complex, beautiful, and blind buy safe. I first smelled a duplicate of this and thought, WOW, what is this. I've never heard of it. I finally snagged a 100ml for 90$ and it is simply amazing.

This is the epitome of unisex. Doesn't matter if you're a man, woman, alien or a dog, this fragrance WILL attract positive attention from anyone. It's beautifully blended, lasts a really long time, projects pretty heavily. A must try at least.

Not sure how they did it, but this smells warm. Sweet vanilla and wood with a gentle smokey scent in the background. There's also a nice smell of spice in there. Very well blended fragrance. Might not be suitable for summer though.

I had to buy a second bottle of this fragrance. Fall is in the air and I hate trying to savor what little I have left. I tried the Elixir and it's just a tad too woodsy, this parfum is perfect for me/on me. I'll keep repurchasing.

This is a deep, rich creamy vanilla. I don’t get all the other stuff. I adore it, I don’t know that I’d like it on a guy, but it’s so warm and cozy on me. My husband hates it- to him it smells like straight up cigarette smoke.

The name of this fragrance describes it perfectly. It may sound cliche but silky Woods by name silky Woods by nature. such a master piece and works perfectly on its own and when layered with more airy or spicy fragrances.

Forget everything in the “reminds me of” section it’s blended to perfection. Not blind buy safe, not a loud fragrance. It’s warm, very smooth (almost buttery) and soft. Right amount of suede, Oud and vanilla. Beautiful!

The most rich creamy vanilla, mixed with woody notes and spices. I’m obsessed. Editing to add the oud makes this one a little funky for me. I enjoy the vanilla aspect but the oud is too funky.

This is lovely! Creamy vanilla backed up by woods and tobacco, and light yellow flowers in the background. The leather is not that prominent on me, but now and then I get a little whiff of it.
