Bluebell

One of my friends told me about the Good Chemistry line and I'm glad I purchased several of their fragrances. I love Bluebell and for now, it's my favorite out of the five I bought. I am yet to purchase 4 more and have a feeling something else might compete with my love for BB. This fragrance line (only referencing the scents I've bought) would be very appropriate for office wear. Some may go on strong, but they dry down quickly and have clean, soft scents that are inoffensive. Those who've said that BB smells like D&G Light Blue are spot on. It is a lighter/milder version of Light Blue. BB doesn't pack as much of a punch as D&G and is lighter on the pocket too. If you want D&G but don't want to spend that much, go for BB. The fragrance that comes exactly close to smelling like BB is Cafe Puro for women. As soon as I smelled BB, I smelled the almost duplicate likeness to Cafe Puro, which I also love and have. Someone said this BB "smells like the color blue". That's a great way to describe this scent. It's fresh, clean, soft, and leaves a very charming trail that others will certainly comment on (perhaps because they also think it's D&G but smells different and possibly more pleasant). While this is likely more appropriate for warm weather (better performance), I am currently using it in winter weather and loving it. Makes these gloomy days more bearable and happy. I can still smell it on myself at the end of the day. This is a safe blind buy and I can see myself using it up fairly quickly and repurchasing it. The one thing I MUST mention is: I'm not sure how GC got away with listing this as a Vegan perfume. Yes, it certainly doesn't have those nasty chemicals that most all other perfumes have, but it lists denatured alcohol as it's very first ingredient, which means there's a lot of it in the fragrance. Look up what "Alcohol Denat." is and the massive concerns for what it does to the skin. I hope that moving forward, GC will consider using alternatives that will lead to a truly organic fragrance line.

Ah! This is so, so good! Good Chemistry is Target's brand of vegan and paraben-free perfumes (launched January 2018), which is a big bonus. I have a few of their scents, and decided to wear Bluebell for the first time today. I have the rollerball, which I prefer to sprays because you can really concentrate the fragrance where you want it. If you're not familiar with what bluebells smell like (the note "bell flower"), definitely conjure up in your mind the smell of Dolce&Gabbana's Light Blue. It just smells like the color blue. It's no accident that Light Blue and Bluebell smell so similar since they share this note, but I really think I prefer this. Not only is the price amazing, not to mention the lack of nasty parabens, but because it's a less complex scent than LB, it's great for layering. I wore my Laura Mercier Vanille with Bluebell today and it was stunning. And it's lasted all day! Such a great warm weather perfume, I'm really looking forward to wearing this all summer long.

Blissfully uncomplicated, inexpensive (Target!) but not at all cheap-smelling. I'd pay several times what I actually did for this EDP. I grow a couple different types of campanula (bellflower is the common name) in my garden and I've never noticed they have a scent. So I'm guessing the crisp, clean (really natural) flowers here come courtesy of the jasmine and other unidentified floral notes. Works deliciously with the citrus! The drydown is a little powdery, but not excessively so. BB wears close to the skin so is perfect for days when you don't necessarily want to announce you're wearing perfume. It's perfect for lots of other occasions, too.

One of my favorite scents and I love that it’s a clean fragrance brand. The main notes I smell are: floral, green, crisp, and crab apple. I wouldn’t describe it as a sweet scent, as it isn’t gourmand to me at all. It’s definitely not Sugar Berry. This smells like spring in a bottle: cut grass, Bluebells growing on the highway, and a bite to the air. Highly recommend this one if you love florals. It isn’t a 8 hour perfume, but it’s not priced like one either. I’ve had the perfume and body spray and both smell the same. The perfume is more intense, obviously.

I love this! I have many more higher end and niche perfumes, but this is one of my favorites. It has decent sillage and longevity as well. It's sweet, floral, fruity-- it just makes me feel good and happy. It's inoffensive, yet I don't find it boring. I bought it for about $5 at Burlington a couple months ago, but when it's gone (and it's already half gone in that short time), I'm going to have to replace it. I do think it's slightly similar to DKNY Be Delicious, but I think this one is a bit sweeter and simpler, and sometimes I like that!

Please come back to me Bluebell...... I miss you. They don't sell it in Target anymore. This was my favorite scent when I was younger and I still enjoy it very much. It is so fresh and the jasmine is so balanced.

Magical. This fragrance transports me to a very happy place.

I almost get a cucumber melon vibe when I first spray this. It quickly transitions to a very fresh citrus-floral, it smells like a wonderful shampoo or refreshing body mist. I don’t get a true floral smell and I’ve only had experience with one other “bluebell” scent, the one from Penhaligon’s. Which sort of smelt like warm saliva on me and gave me the creeps, so I got rid of it. This is a completely different scent and if I had to compare it to something on the list, I’d say it’s most similar to Donna Karan Be Delicious, but somehow it’s lighter and fresher and less of an apple smell, more of that fresh cucumber note. It’s really pretty and was so affordable at Target, but I believe it’s now been discontinued unfortunately. I had to get my bottle on Ebay. I hope Target brings these scents back from their original Good Chemistry line, there were so many good ones. If you can find it and you like scents like Light Blue, Be Delicious or even the Chanel Chance line, this is a safe one to try.

I have the EDP rollerball. A blind buy that I got on sale at CVS. Good Chemistry's Bluebell starts with a burst of tart citrus, followed by light, sweet floral notes. The scent is overall reminiscent of green apples. Very fresh, youthful, and feminine - a nice light and fruity option for spring and summer, or whenever the weather is warm. The sillage is pretty close-wearing unless I apply very liberally. I like this scent, but unfortunately it does not last very long on me, though I'm not applying this to clothing so maybe that would help. The rollerball makes reapplication super easy, however, and the sale price was great, so I still feel satisfied with my purchase. This is definitely worth a try if you're perusing the perfume section of Target or CVS.

A couple years ago, I got the roller ball and a bunch of other discontinued Good Chemistry stuff at a thrift shop for $5 a box. I really enjoy this scent! I wish I had the spray, because it smells so clean and refreshing. It's like the fresh smell of skin and body wash right out of the shower. It has a green apple soap vibe, which I actually like quite a bit. Not a complex scent but I can't beat the price.

This smells like green apples and flowers. While DKNY Be Delicious is '100% Pure New York' (i.e. sassier and more complicated/demanding), Bluebell is her down-to-the-earth cousin that lives on a farm - more laid back but same bloodline.

I bought this pretty much as soon as it was on target.com in 2018, but I had to return it shortly after. I like bluebell-inspired scents, I love jasmine, this should've been a winner for me. Sadly it smelled like green gasoline on my skin and was very off-putting. The bottle and packaging are cute in a Bath and Body Works kind of way, but the scent inside left me wanting (to take a shower.)

Nothing but sharp, cleaner citrus on me, which is heartbreaking. I really enjoy the scent of bluebells, so I really did want to love it. I ordered it from Target.com as soon as it dropped (as in the very same day) but I had to take it back as soon as I got it. It was just overwhelmingly bad on me.

Picked this up today. Before I even sprayed it I found the scent under the cap comforting and familiar...but I couldn't place how or why. I sniffed the other bottles in the line and found some of them pleasant, others not so much, and one that was absolutely lovely and *also* familiar, but lacking in intrigue. Then I doubled back around to Bluebell (which I still hadn't "figured out"), gave it a spray on the back of my hand, and proceeded to wander around Target with my sister for a while as we waited for our 10 and 11 year old sons to decide what they were getting from the toy section. By the time THEIR decision was made, I had decided I wasn't leaving the store without Bluebell...even though I had no idea why. I kept returning to the back of my hand for clues but I couldn't figure out what it was that made the fragrance so familiar and enjoyable, especially since it didn't seem to smell like any identifiable "thing." Surely not a bluebell. Eventually, I settled on the idea that it called to mind Ed Hardy Love & Luck, a perfume I always halfway wanted and partway enjoyed without ever being thrilled enough to purchase. It wasn't until I read on *here* the Light Blue comparison that it clicked a little more. I find this to be a cross between Love & Luck and Moschino I Love Love, with the topmost notes echoing the citric bite of Love & Luck, and the later phases calling to mind the sugary woodsy floral that I get from the Love & Love. It somehow manages to be interesting while still comfortable and clean. I find that some perfumes are utterly groundbreaking...but then you have to break new ground to wear them in peace, whereas others are just a nice spin on an old favorite. This fragrance fits into the latter category, and I'm pleased with that.

I can barely smell anything. It smells like I used a floral body wash & I can only smell that if I have my nose right where I sprayed. Its not even as strong as a body/fragrance mist. I understand if you have to use this due to pregnancy or sensitivites but otherwise I think this isnt perfume at all & its a waste of money. I honestly cant even smell enough to comment on the actual scent. I know I cant smell any Jasmine. Im not sure if I will try another scent yet to see if I get better results.

This smells so much like D&G Light Blue, but if you were to dial back the lemon and cedar notes quite a bit in Light Blue and then turn up the volume all the way on the bellflower. Perfect for a hot summer day I'd say! Less masculine than Light Blue and a much prettier bottle too. All of the Good Chemistry bottles are beautifully designed.

This is sweeter than I expected. Not a fan.
