North Sky

North Sky is truly unisex. I can't describe anything about it as masculine or feminine, because it really doesn't lean either way. It smells strongly of dried tobacco; my grandfather smoked a pipe, and my mother told me that it smells like his tobacco pouch. But don't think that means it has an unpleasant, cigarette-y scent, quite the opposite, it smells so warm and musty (in a good way) and fall-like. It is absolutely a cold weather scent, but for the daytime; it's like the perfume equivalent of a soft hoodie. It comes on first with a quick, volatile tinge of green tobacco and cut grass, (perhaps the bergamot is this fleeting green note?), then the spices really come out. The note listed here is pepper, which I notice, but I feel like there's more to it than that. There's almost something leathery, not direct leather, but a sort of leathery-woody base that blends with the tobacco to create a warm, comforting scent. It dries down fairly fast but lasts as a skin scent for quite a long time. It's uncomplicated but also unique-smelling, the kind of perfume that I think anyone, male or female, young or old, would feel comfortable wearing. That's no small feat.

Absolutely loved this, the tobacco and pepper was super prominent on me. Didn't last at all, though. Could spray it almost like a body spray it was so weak. I'll be looking for something with similar notes to upgrade to.

This dries down to a sweet, warm, and spicy amber-type fragrance, it's really nice especially for the price! It's a great deal. Not overpowering, nicely blended. I can see how it's put into the "unisex" category.

There's citrus in the opening, the drydown is caramellic and sweet with peppery, smoky musks. It smells like brown sugar with a synthetic woody amber base. I'm from Minnesota, and I used to work at one of the oldest Target stores operating in the country. Corporate headquarters visits the local branches every couple months to assess store layout, functionality, and customer experience. For those who are unaware of the business model: Target aims to cultivate a modern, luxurious atmosphere while selling low budget goods. A gussied up, giddy alternative to Walmart. Target's beauty & style are some of the largest and most curated sections of the store, and their exclusive perfume lines have been a distinguishing feature for at least a decade, if not longer. This sweet tobacco fragrance is on par with one of those lethal holiday candles you can buy at big box stores in November. ...Target's perfume lines are consistently the worst sold in the store. Pacifica, Mix:bar, Frenshe, etc. are all much better.
