Sugar Berry

I can't tell you how happy I am with this! I'll explain why, but first, a moderately lengthy background story: I am pregnant and was advised to avoid products with phlalates (present in all synthetic fragrances) as much as possible, as they MAY cause certain disruptions in the baby's development. Being obsessed with perfumes and other fragranced products, this was very disappointing to me, but of course for the health of my baby, I am doing my best to avoid fragrance as much as possible. So, I decided to make it my mission to find natural fragranced products that don't contain phlalates - there are many options online, but I prefer not to blind buy whenever possible, so my options in local brick-and-mortar stores are limited. I am a fan of Waikiki Pikakke from Pacifica (although to me it is a summer smell that I'd rather not wear in winter), so I began with other Pacifica fragrances, which I found at Ulta. Unfortunately, all of the other Pacifica fragrances were either too summery (e.g. Ruby Guava), only so-so and not excellent enough that I'd want to wear them (e.g. Island Vanilla), or downright gross (Himalayan Patchouli Berry, Persian Rose), so that was a bust. I have a couple of Kuumba Made perfume oils (Tunisian Patchouli, Egyptian Musk) and LOVE them, but I no longer have a Whole Foods near me, or any other retailer that sells them locally. So on a trip to Target yesterday to pick up other things, I noticed the Good Chemistry fragrances, which I'd never seen before. While standing in the aisle, I looked them up online and discovered they were phlalate-free (yay!), and checked a few reviews here on Fragrantica. I was encouraged to see that most of the reviews seemed positive. I tried a few of them, and the most delightful surprise of all was that, as many of you have mentioned below, Sugar Berry is DEFINITELY a dupe for Pink Sugar - my all-time favorite winter fragrance! I immediately bought the large bottle (only $25!) and now feel much less deprived of my beloved fragrances (especially my winter fave) during my pregnancy. Also picked up Jasmine Rose, which isn't necessarily wintery and admittedly seems rather generic, but after spritzing it on my wrist and walking around the store for awhile, it just had some quality to it that made me want to keep sniffing it, so I bought that as well. Thank you if you read this far - all this to say, Good Chemistry is a great bargain buy with fragrances that smell lovely, and are free of a bunch of potentially harmful chemicals.

WOW!! 🤩 I’ve bought quite a variety of scents the last two months. One very expensive, some medium and pre loved (all were new to me to sample) And I really LOVE this! This isn’t not related to YBM in my mind it’s NOT as sticky and sweet. It’s a sweetened vanilla with a dash of raspberry, honestly as it dries down? It’s just a slightly sticky cotton candy it’s a very HAPPY fragrance. Nothing gives a headache and nothing it too much! it just smells sweet and slightly an airy quality, but it actually lasts on me a good while! Not a big projector though but they will smell you as you walk by... it’s a very happy sweet clean simple scent! Not many notes and I dig it. Simple. It’s funny lately I can love an Hermes full of darkness and patchouli And this confection! Oh as it dries down? It reminds me of coffee break by replica!! Not that coffee is really in this, but there’s a dash of that sweetness ? It’s so interesting! In Love!! I didn’t get the bottle shown above? I think there all sold in those round bottom bottles? I’m going to be stocking up on this every month I have a feeling!! Pls don’t stop making this my new affordable happy scent ...

my all time favorite sweet, affordable fragrance! my mom had the travel spray/rollerball(can’t remember) and let me use it once before we went out shopping and i could constantly pick up the sweet gourmand vanilla all day!! so I bought myself the body mist at target and despite its weaker projection & longevity, it still got the job done for my days out! such a simple, yet balanced and uplifting fragrance! my forever favorite:)

I smell *sugar*, as well as Fressia, raspberry, and a bit of a powdery white musk.... but no vanilla. Confused as to whether vanilla is even meant to be in this fragrance as Good Chemistry does not include it in the notes listed that I’ve seen. i bought this because it smells like Pink Sugar mixed with Love’s Baby Soft. I adore it. I just don’t think it’a a vanilla scent, it’s more of a caramelized and raw sugar blend

I bought this because it reminded me of the swirl of fragrances from the girls locker room in high school. Its a sweet nostalgic cotton candy-esque scent that is jusssst a little more mature than what we used to wear in our teens. Theres a candle at BBW that smells like this too (pink petal tea cake). This scent is so dang yummy I like to wear it on sunny pool days.

While I'm fully aware that the more sophisticated noses are totally looking down their rarified proboscii at me right now -- I kind of love this. It's just *happy*. Sweet and fairly long lasting, and the rollerball cost me less than a fancy coffee. For the price, I'm impressed, even if that makes me fairly basic. :)

The notes are simple but they make it work so well!! I get some musk with this, even though that note isn't even listed. I feel like this would be so good to wear during fall when you're at an amusement park or a pumpkin patch or something. It's so bright and feminine, I just feel so girly when I wear it!!

Smells like Pink Sugar but with a strange plastic scent. Was really hoping it would have a different smell. I imagine the opening to be a more juicy, tart opening, the middle to be something fresh and powdery and the base to be with a creamy and sweet. Nope, just like affordable carbon copy of Pink Sugar.

Similar, but not a dupe! The one it supposedly is a dupe for, stinks of cheap burnt sugar. Super nasty. This is sweet almost cotton candy-esque! A much better fragrance that its burnt dupe.

its exactly what it says on the tin. its very sweet and sugary. not a hint of anything fresh or berry imo. heavy dessert smell. a little artificial but i love it a lot

This was my trauma scent during the pandemic lol. Still really good though smells like sugary cotton candy.

Great everyday perfume for fans of fresh gourmand/vanilla/berries.

Sugar Berry is an absolute, side by side dupe of Pink Sugar.

I blind-bought Good Chemistry's "Sugar Berry" (SB) in December 2018. I initially disliked this fragrance due to one synthetic/chemical note, but after using it for a little over a year, I've grown to love it. Once you get past the initial spray, SB transforms into a truly beautiful skin scent. If you like/love Aquolina's Pink Sugar, Animale Love, Bodycology's Sweet Seduction, or Victoria Secret's Pure Seduction, you'll like/love SB as they seem to have the same thing going on. All of the above are sweet, creamy, warm, seductive, and yummy (for lack of a better word) frags that have consistently received the most compliments out of all the fragrances I own. For reasons I still don't understand, I crave these perfumes particularly from January through April. It might have something to do with wanting something uplifting and sweet during the cold Midwestern winters when I'd rather not use my stronger/more gourmand winter frags. Since these fragrances are similar in several notes, I layer them to extend their longevity and improve on sillage. 1) I spray Animale Love (or Pink Sugar) lightly on my top and SB only on my pulse points. Not sure what ingredients are in Animale Love but it makes me break out, which is why I only use it on my top. 2) On a different day, I spray Bodycology's Sweet Seduction mist on my body and only use two spritzes of SB on my pulse points and lightly on my top. 3) I spray Victoria Secret's Pure Seduction mist on my body and spray two spritzes of SB on my pulse points and very lightly on my top. All these combinations are beautiful. Just like the body mists, SB does not last long, so you need to carry it with you, refill an atomizer, or get the roller ball/mist that can comfortably fit in your purse to top up during the day. *As long as you use a light hand and since it's a sugar bomb*, SB is inoffensive. Particularly if you layer it with one of the other sweeties, allow them to settle before coming around people, especially in an office-- they'll always smell delicious like desserts and won't offend anyone. If you spray too much, they'll definitely set of allergies and migraines. If those who are highly sensitive to fragrances and easily sickened by sweet scents love SB and how I layer it with other sweet scents, then that's a win in my books.

I just literally picked this up from target. I hate the cheap look and bottle (come on guys why can’t they make it look a little more cute like raspberry shaped or something?!) but OH MY LAWD I get this sweet vanilla raspberry. It’s AMAZING. I wear pink sugar a lot and Ari from Ariana Grande and this is heaven. The after effect is gorgeous milky vanilla. I’m so happy I found this!!!! EDIT: so it’s been a few weeks and for some reason it smells a bit like bug spray?? I blind tested it with my bf and we both didn’t like it as much. I’m gonna have to keep giving it a try but it definitelyyyy is very strong if you overspray. I don’t hate it, but I don’t love it as much as I originally did. I think Ari by Ariana Grande is way better but less lasting power. It might be my favorite perfume right now.

Sugar Berry by Good Chemistry is an extremely sweet raspberry gourmand. Very reminiscent of cotton candy. I smell something warm and vanillic, but I’m not sure I’d call it vanilla. The freesia is very faint. Overall it’s pure, tooth-rotting, sugary goodness and not much else beyond that. I picture a teenager excitedly browsing the local mall with friends while eating candy until she feels sick. Youthful, girly, cute, and energetic. Some people may find it too sickly or immature. However, I would say it’s meant to be playful and unserious. The extreme sweetness is not headache inducing, but sugar lovers will still rejoice. It’s not quite my style, but I’d definitely recommend it to all the girly girls out there. Sugar Berry would work best for fun-filled summer days

I like it. The vanilla is a bit overpowering at first but then it turns into this warm, burnt sugar smell that’s beautiful. I only pick up teeny, tiny hints of the raspberries and freesia, though. Would be a great scent for Spring and Summer, but I’d honestly see myself wearing it year-round, too. **EDIT** 30 Mar 2018: I wore this for the past two days and now I am picking up more notes of the raspberry mixed into the vanilla. I'm falling IN LOVE with this perfume! I don't love the smell of it in the bottle, but once it's sprayed on and allowed to mellow for a few minutes....WOW!! I wore it all day yesterday and could still smell it when I woke up this morning. Sweet and sugary but definitely not "young." Women of any age could wear this!

this right here is a simple fragrance done well! this was a gift from a boyfriend of mine, and i honestly didn't expect to like it as much as i do. it's sweet and powdery to me, liquid candy in a bottle. though i would absolutely not wear this in any other season than summer because in my opinion i think it'd be a little inappropriate. a soft girl sort of scent, a little immature but so sugary and yummy that i can forgive it. i will say it's lacking a lot of the fruity quality it claims to have, but honestly i like this fragrance better without it. just a sugary and powdery vanilla. really like this! (important to mention that the bottle of this that i have has a lot of issues with leaking. i've lost like 1/4 of this fragrance from it.)

This fragrance has an oddly sour top note, at least for me. I'm not sure if it's because the freesia and raspberry aren't blending well or what's going on. I definitely smell the freesia but I'm not picking up much raspberry. However, the sourness dissipates quickly, leaving a soft, sweet floral on the dry-down. After applying, I can still detect a sweet, vanilla scent on my skin more than 5 hours later. It would probably layer well with other florals or gourmands. I should note that I got the body spray version, so the perfume strength may last longer and have greater projection. If you like VERY sweet scents with floral and vanilla notes, this one is nice without being overpowering.

So I was super excited for this one. I got it for 9 dollars at my local CVS and I was so excited for it just to smell exactly like Pink Sugar. I was so thrilled for it and I’ve been looking for it for a while so for it to smell like something I already own was upsetting. Don’t get me wrong I LOVE pink sugar it’s my signature scent and so truly captivating. I was just upset about that part. If you look at it the other way. It is truly a great dupe for pink sugar if you can’t find it or if it’s too expensive. It smells exactly the same. Long enough lasting, but not over powering. I think it’s a great pick!

This little scent is so cute and very sentimental to me because it reminds me of home. Something about it just smells so homey and cozy to me. It mostly smells like raspberry juice and brown sugar to me. It's a little powdery resembling the smell of makeup, or like you're putting your nose to the softest fuzziest blanket ever and I love how the freesia lingers and adds a bit of floral tones to it. With how youthful, feminine, dainty and delicate it feels, it makes perfect sense as to why it's marketed as cottagecore to me. I gravitate towards this more in the spring and fall months

This isn't going to be a lengthy review. Bottom line it's Pink Sugar without the licorice. I absolutely do not understand the comparison to BS Fantasy. Pink Sugar has been my signature scent for almost a decade. Sugar Berry is not bad by any means. If you already have and love Pink Sugar..... you don't need this. If you only like Pink Sugar but the licorice keeps it you from loving it .... this is definitely worth a try. If you've never tried Pink Sugar or this .... my advice is go for the Pink Sugar because you can get a larger bottle for less $ than the Sugar Berry.

This perfume has SO much longevity. I sprayed it on my wrist in target two days ago around 2pm and today, two days later, I had STILL smell it after three showers and washing my hands multiple times. Its mostly sweet, not super complex but the longevity alone has me running back to buy it. I think this would be an amazing layering perfume as well! I don't think I'm properly conveying how absolutely astonished I am by this fragrance's longevity. I have FAR more expensive perfumes that only last 6-8 hours but this has lasted DAYS. D A Y S!!!!

I just got the body spray as a blind buy after I ran out of perfume on a vacation. It smells like pink sugar but this is more fruity. It has a slight sour smell which it isn't terrible and only lasts a minute or so. Once it had time to sit on my skin it's a nice blend of sweetness and florals and fruit. Since it's a body spray I just apply Vaseline first to make sure it last long enough that I don’t have to reapply. You only really need 3-4 sprays because its pretty concentrated even for a body spray.

This smells just like Pink Sugar except better. I didn't really like Pink Sugar's burnt sugar/licorice note. This is basically cotton candy sweet with a warm, creamy vanilla and a small dash of raspberry and floral. Edit Men LOVE this. Seriously I get so many compliments. The longevity on clothes is great too. This is the ultimate sweet and creamy fragrance. 2nd Edit As my bottle has aged the razberry note has a tiny bit more sourness and a slight liquorice note has developed.

Pink Sugar is a woman dressed in all pink, walking her chihuahua with a rhinestone collar and Sugar Berry is the woman's chihuahua. They are very similar, but Pink Sugar is a more developed fragrance. I only really smell raspberry and sugar when I smell Sugar Berry, which is nice but it leans more on the little kid side because of the few notes. Pink Sugar has the orange, sandalwood and musk which make the sugary candy smell a lot more complex than Sugar Berry.

I have an older roller ball of this scent and it has ZERO SMELL. It smells like slightly metallic tap water. Is this the nature of so called natural perfumes? I am disappointed, because this is a cute summer scent. It was sweet but cozy and had that little punch of juicy berry tartness. Next time I am in Target I will try the tester and see if it has been reformulated (it has been five plus years..) and see if I still like it.

As all fruit notes do, the fresh raspberry fades quickly, but a more jammy raspberry remains for at least a few hours. It's definitely powdery; honestly, I get a hint of a childrens-bugspray-like note on me, but it's a pleasant one that feels lighthearted. It makes me think of frilly pink lolita dresses and long over-the-top nails with lots of gems and pearls. Feminine and refined but playful and a bit tongue in cheek.

I picked this up super cheapy at tj maxx one day and am so glad K did! I actually grab for this more than any of my other "high end" perfumes. It smells super yummy and lasts a long time, especially on clothes. I'm sure some will find it cloyingly sweet but if you like smelling literally "delicious" it's totally worth grabbing a bottle.

I agree with the other reviewers in that this does smell like Pink Sugar, but it's not an exact dupe. This has a berry tartness to it that Pink Sugar does not have. Sugar Berry also lacks the burnt sugar/caramel note that PS has. If you like the sweetness of PS but want something more berry centered, this is a good pick.

The fragrance features freesia, raspberry and vanilla per Fragrantica. However I get very watered down Pink Sugar which might be appealing in the summer humidity. But this can wait for a good sale. If you like this, you should try: ~Pink Sugar~ ~BS Fantasy-the Naughty Remix~

[Reviewing the roll-on] For some reason this reminds me a lot of pink sugar - cotton candy like, very sweet and gourmand. Feminine and addictive! There must be some notes not listed or missing...? There’s definitely a sugary quality to it. Performs like an EDT...

I like sugar berry a lot! She's more sugar than she is berry, and too many sprays can be a little nauseating at first, but the dried down scent is lovely and she's very good with layering. I recommend if you like sugary scents with slight fruity tints!

Let me tell you this one!!! Nothing but raspberries! Just fruity ALL fruity, the vanilla is the drydown and it's lightweight and the freesia is mixed with the vanilla. A good scent to wear to the beach or a beach party!

Smells great! Just like pink sugar. The scent has moderate projection on me. It can last for about 4 hours if sprayed on clothes.

This scent is such a cute ones reminds me a lot of Aquolina pink sugar. You can probably see this recommended right under that perfume and vice versa. Super cute for someone young or who like sugary sweet smells. Personally I have a soft spot for such sweet teenage type scents, they really are so fun. Sometimes I like to walk around like a living piece of candy, not sure why. Maybe I never gave up on Victoria’s Secret sugar rush perfumes secretly! Definitely great price for a teen girl looking for a sweet scent that isn’t very mature and reflects their young age. However I’d never judge a woman who wears this as who cares it’s so fun! I’d say it’s almost exactly like pink sugar but with a slight bit of tartness as I sniff them both. In terms of how it works with me I’d say not at all! My chemistry just does not let this perfume stay on me! It’s gone soooo quick and doesnt project. All in all I’d describe this as good for someone very young or just starting out, maybe middle school to high school age, likes sweet sugary scents, and like a berry/tart fruit touch. It’s only 12.99 and readily available at cvs so it’s good if you’re young! Although it doesn’t work on me I wear it for me sometimes for fun!

Aww, I have fond memories of this one. I spontaneously purchased a rollerball of this before I really knew fragrances, when all I had were floral essential oils and I desperately wanted something sweet and happy. This did the job. It's sugary, sweet, and, to my nose, has a synthetic sheen. That's probably the freesia, which is actually the prominent note for me here: an over-sugared synthetic freesia, with the wet suggestion of a berry. I can't smell anything I'd place as raspberry. It's a good simple dupe of Britney's Fantasy. This one is flatter, with less interplaying notes, but the soul is the same. I don't know that I'd wear this with any frequency now- I've gotten over my fondness for that linear, one-dimensional, semi-synthetic punch- but maybe someday I'll break it out for old times' sake.

I love Good Chemistry scents and they’re a clean fragrance brand, but this one wasn’t for me. It’s not bad if you like sugar scents - it’s just sickly sweet like Pink Sugar or generic smelling celebrity scents. I personally hate Pink Sugar. On first spray of Sugar Berry, the only note you really get is cotton candy sugar with a hint of berry. Sugar Berry is very linear - you get sugar, berries, and a whisp of floral. I love plain Jane vanilla scents, but I didn’t get much vanilla in this one. Just sugar.

never owned pink sugar so not sure how it compares but this is a generic pink sweet smell and most of those are within the same realm. after falling in love with burberry her i was trying to get my hands on any berry fragrance i could find. this definitely is sweet, but too thick in my opinion. it kind of makes me sick. i still think its okay, and its at a semi-decent price point.

i so badly wanted to like this ugh :( smells like overwhelmingly like sunscreen with a dark berry on the first spray. not very light or sweet in my opinion. as it dries down, the raspberry note is a little more distinguishable however begins to smell like baby powder. i don’t think it’s super sweet like everyone is saying

i liked this!! it’s not cloying so you could wear it in warm weather, but the performance is too weak for me so i didn’t buy it. the opening is a sugary cotton candy with fruit but the dry down is more vanilla, if you want an affordable soft fruity sweet perfume this is for you

It gives a serious bubblegum scent when worn alone on my skin for whatever reason, which I really dislike since I dislike that smell. It is a little headache-inducing at first. However, after it wears for a while or is layered with something (I tried Cloud) it becomes decent.

I actually like this but to me it smells like a softer version of Cacharel Amor Amor. I actually layered the two of them and it was quite nice. Sugar Berry gave that slightly sweeter berry scent to the Amor Amor. I really like this perfume and will enjoy wearing it to work. It is quite vanilly raspberries. not cloying and I really don't get any floral scent at all. 03/22/2019 Edit : layered this with Vanille Coco Comptoir Sud Pacifique for women today and it is a nice combination. Full of berry, vanilla, coconut, and it does bring out a little bit of the floral notes. 5/22/19: Edited to note that I tried this again the other day and I don't like it as much as I used to. Now I get a more synthetic smell. Not as pretty as it was, but still wears well when layered.

Sure, this one reminds me of Pink Sugar at first stuff but the dry down becomes a scent that is not working on my skin and with my nose, it’s a very synthetic, not pleasant note. I love it that is a vegan, skin-friendly perfume but this one won’t be added to my collection of perfumes. I do love the Pink Palm perfume from this company though!
