Wild Child

I've really grown to love the Good Chemistry line and have purchased 9 of their fragrances. Wild Child is a fresh, lively, vibrant, scent. It's sweet but in a highly tasteful way, so it's not sickening or cloying. I believe the bamboo gives it that somewhat woody note that's not awfully masculine or overpowering. The vibrant notes may be coming from the bergamot, but the coconut balances everything really well, so to me, no one notes stands out more than the other. Sillage and longevity are moderate-- I did find myself reapplying the Wild Child, which is not really the case with some of the other ones. I don't mind because I love it and it's inexpensive. I blind-bought this based on notes and reviews, so I'm super happy that I love it. I can definitely see myself repurchasing this once it's done. There are two things I really hope Good Chemistry will improve upon. 1) To label your products as Vegan means they should preferably have zero chemicals/harmful substances in them. Denatured Alcohol is the very first ingredient, which means there's plenty of it in each product. Given all the research, there are clear and legitimate concerns regarding what Alcohol dent. does to the skin, so hopefully, GC can find safer alternatives. 2) I hope they'll make lotions so the perfumes have even better lasting power.

I absolutely adore this scent. At first I thought it might be really close to Diptyque's Philosykos - but then I tested them side by side and realized Philosykos is much more green. Then I thought it might be close to Creed's Virgin Island Water - tested them side by side and realized Wild Child is much more green than VIW. So it's really somewhere between the two. All three notes play an important role - you really get the coconut, the citrus, and the bamboo - and they work beautifully together. Like an elevated B&BW Coconut Lime Verbena with a strong green note. Lovely daytime scent for warm weather. Longevity and sillage could be better - but I plan to get a full bottle and keep the rollerball in my purse. For the price, this is such a good fragrance. GET IT!

Just got a rollerball and am already placing my order for a full bottle. The drydown is dead-on for Arquiste's Sydney Rock Pool. Yes, at first spray, Wild Child is missing some of Rock Pool's saltiness (in favor of citrus from the bergamot), and the woodiness is less evident. After half an hour, though, I can't tell much difference. Unfortunately, Wild Child lasts about two hours on me; fortunately, it's practically cheap enough to bathe in (and Rock Pool, for its obscene price tag, doesn't last terribly much longer).

I don't get much coconut from this at all, unless it's the greenest coconut you ever did smell. I use the roll-on and the first sniff is very woody-green-spicy, like you're pushing your way through thick undergrowth and broke or crushed something fragrant. It gets sweeter as it dries and overall has a warm, sweetly green-spicy feel. It becomes a skin scent before long but I keep the tube at my desk and apply a couple times a day to enjoy the opening repeatedly. For the price it's excellent. Will buy again.

This fragrance unfortunately doesn't last very long on me but I still love it. I'd say it's a good blind buy. If you removed the bergamot the scent would be very close to Elephant by Zoologist in my opinion. The bergamot makes Wild Child ever so slightly more citrus-y and sweeter than Elephant. I have the perfume in rollerball form but I'm also going to buy the standard bottle. Worth a lot more than the (very reasonable) price so check it out!

i absolutely love this scent - clean, warm, unisex. great for all seasons as well, with the creaminess of the coconut coming out in summer and the woody-fresh bamboo reigning during the colder months. the entire Good Chemistry line is great, but this is by far my favorite

I love this fragrance I wore it to my friends one day. We were playing volleyball about 8 feet away from eachother and she could smell it!! It’s a non sweet coconut smell definitely leans a bit more masculine but it’s very light.

I love this sent, I tested it on a whim at Target and took a bottle home with me. Light citrus and earthy, great go-to for a summer day-time sent. Sad to learn this has been discontinued... the best ones always are.

I’d call it the awkward, weird child that people adore when they get to know him.

I have the body spray so I can’t say much for longevity but I’m sure the rollerball is great. I love this for an everyday spritz! I really smell the citrus in this perfume very fresh and like many say I’d say it can almost lean towards a unisex to more female. This is a fresh scent but I like that it has a bit of hidden sweetness to it, I’m a sugary type gal so this scent is a bit out of the box for me for sure! Saying that is a huge compliment because I am not much of a green scent person or even an overly floral person either. I wear the body spray daily but really want to ge the rollerball or edt, I’ve grown to love this scent a lot and would recommend to anyone who is on a budget and wants a fresh green scent that is more unisex but not too much. Such a lovely scent and great job by good chemistry for making this scent for a mass market audience to try.

Wore this in summer for years during my teens. On me the bergamot lingers!!! So exciting as it’s a note I love but find it fades quickly on me and in general in most fragrances. The coconut is creamy but not too sweet, and the bamboo seems to create a nice bridge between the bergamot and coconut. Can’t beat the price, especially considering how strong this scent wears on me. I find a little goes a long way. Overall it’s nice and fresh and a good departure from the rest of my herbal heavy micro collection of perfumes.

The notes are spot on for this: coconutty bamboo. It's not a cloyingly sweet summer coconut, but really one you can wear any time of year. It's rather unique for a cheapie. Too bad it's discontinued.

Wild Child might be my favorite of the Good Chemistry line that I've had the chance to sample thus far. Very woody and not too sweet, this reminds me so much of James Heeley Coccobello, which I wore when I was in Hawaii. Therefore Wild Child will be a cost effective way for me to take a trip back to Hawaii in my mind whenever I want. If you're unfamiliar with Coccobello, I'll explain it this way. It's not coconut in a sweet gourmand way. It's coconut in a woody, green, still growing on the tree way. There are leaves and bark surrounding this coconut. You can really smell the humid air filled with thousands of these palm trees. If you're a fan of rich woody scents you'll most likely enjoy Wild Child.

I am really in love with the Good Chemistry line that Target has now! This perfume is one of several I have purchased from this line. Wild Child reminds me of a really nice, fresh, unisex perfume. Think CK-1 mixed with a nice, wearable smoky aroma (maybe the smoke note is actually wood?). And these perfumes have great lasting power! I love that you can purchase the purse-size bottles for $12, because I can justify adding the smaller bottles to my collection :) I like this one a lot, and glad to see these added to the database here. Go sample it at your local Target!

I love this. SO clean and fresh, perfect for spring and summer. I love santal 33, but if I don't want to waste sprays I pull out this one and people have actually asked me if I'm wearing santal! I smelled them side by side and they really are very similar. Highly recommend, especially at the price!!

Very similar to Sun Saint by Pinrose, but almost half the price. Both are sexy in a unisex way, very fresh and great for heat/humidity. I will be wearing this all summer. The coconut and lime are prominent, and the tonka is very nice. This was a pretty fantastic value for a $12.99 rollerball.
