Le Temps des Rêves

The first time I experienced this perfume was while wandering the streets nearby the Musée d’Orsay in Paris. Goutal has a storefront there, and the fragrance totally permeated the heavy, damp spring air all the way down pl. Saint-Sulpice. I simply had to have it, and followed my nose to their door. I’ve worn this perfume for several years now as a signature fragrance, and come back to it time and again as one of two all-time favourites. I’ve seen reviews call it basic or forgettable, and this is simply not the case to me. The neroli and orange blossom are stars here, undoubtedly. However, the myrtle balances this out with an aromatic freshness that feels emblematic of European fragrances. It settles down into a hazy green “je ne sais quoi”, but the real magic is that it never loses its beautiful fresh floral character. This one lasts the whole day and longer—never overpowering, but lingering beautifully. No soapiness or cloying “elderly” impressions. I find this perfume extraordinarily feminine, romantic, and classic. Well done, Goutal.

Orange blossom perfumes are my favourite and I tried quite a few of them. This one is THE ONE. It blends bitter neroli with sweet orange blossom and florals absolutely seamlessly. The proportion of neroli in this perfume is 'just right'.It is not too loud or harsh (like in Molinard's orange blossom, for example). There is no extra weird aftersmell (like in Sultane de Saba). There is no extra vanilla or jasmine that can be distracting. The only other perfume that came close to this is L'Artisan Parfumeur; however, their fragrance is not exactly a conventional orange blossom perfume, it's a whole different story. This perfume is the perfect bitter-sweet fragrance; it's like yin and yang. The only problem I have with it is that it is fleeting; however, I am willing to forgive it because it is an absolute masterpiece.

I’ve been thinking about this one for a long time. I liked the sample so much that I bought a full bottle, but there is something so delicate and angelic about it that I almost feel wrong wearing it. I’m not a particularly delicate, angelic woman. All the notes listed are very present, apart from the sandalwood. When I layer this with Tam Dao it makes more sense as a complex experience. On its own, it’s very linear - beautiful flowers. God, it smells so effing gorgeous but it’s just not dirty enough to be my signature. However. If you want a pure, happy floral fragrance that doesn’t smell like any of the others out there - if you want photorealistic white flowers - this is it. It’s the best pure floral fragrance I’ve ever smelled.

STUNNING this is an exceptionally natural and realistic Neroli fragrance. It’s a strongly citrus and herbal green rendering of neroli and orange blossom. Reminds me the most of Annick Goutal’s former Neroli (2003). if you like scents such as L’Artisan Histoires d’Oranger and Hermes Jour d’Hermes Absolu and Chanel Gabrielle and Serge Fleurs d’Citronnier you’ll dig this. Le Temps des Reves is so classic and perfectly crisp and natural. No synthetic perfumey vibes here at all. At the start the bergamot is sharp and bracing but once it dries down it becomes rounder and more softly gentle white floral musks. Lovely. Bucolic meadows

This is a beautiful sheer Neroli that is suitable for people who usually find it too harsh like me. I was surprised by how many other reviewers below share this opinion. At first this seems very white floral almost like maybe Tuberose with orange blossom is there then it becomes more bitter as the neroli starts to come through. It dries down to orange blossom and sandalwood, a combo I never thought I would quite enjoy as much as I do. I would love a bottle of this for summer. I do wish it was a bit more potent as it sits extremely close to the skin to the point where you have to put your nose there to smell it.

My husband is not one who likes perfumes or compliments. But this one has garnered two compliments from him. Trust me, it’s a big deal. This opens up fresh and tangy. Perfect for early morning spraying to awaken your senses. The citric note in the opening doesn’t assault your soul. It’s soft yet fresh. It lingers quite a while to welcome its floral woody notes. The base is so grounding. Although the woody note is pretty dominant, I can still detect the smell of oatmeal, fuzzy and wheaty, in the background. Perfect for spring and summer!

Now I'm not that kind who can smell out almost every single ingredient in a scent but all I can say is that just like Bois d'Hadrien this is also a sophisticated fragrance. It smells slightly sour in the first 10-15 minutes (I reckon it's the bergamot) then it turns nicely into an airy yet creamy floral scent (can't stop smelling my wrist haha). Albeit it being sold as a unisex scent I'd say that this is definitely feminine. I think it can be worn during cold days but I'd rather say it's more suited for mild to warmer weather.

I love this. I am recovering from the stomach flu and have been comforted by Les Temps Des Reves. It is such a beautiful Neroli and Orange Blossom blend. The bran is an exquistite touch. It adds a slight petitgrain like note to the perfume and accentuates some of the bitterness in the neroil and the barely there sandalwood. Overall Les Temps Des Reves is a beautiful floral when I am need of comfort.

A smooth, creamy, comforting neroli. On a hot day this would feel too enveloping. This is a scent for when the sun starts setting, the sky turns red and the wind goes down. For staring at the sea from atop a cooled dune. That moment when you take your sweater out of the bag you brought on your evening walk. Or for a rainy day, cuddled up on the couch under a blanket. So cozy...

Oh My God!!! I can't put into words how stunning this fragrance is. Such a classy neroli, very realistic too. I have been wearing this for 3 days straight which is very unusual for someone who has too many perfumes and wear different scent everyday. Successful blind buy, I've got myself a 30ml bottle, will buy full bottle soon.

It’s so good. I was sniffing my way through my non-Goutal collection saying things like “this is nice” or “this is ok” and then I hit this one and said OH MY GOD IT’S SO NICE. Why I had it hidden away I don’t know (probably due to my love affair with Un Matin d’Orage) but this one is going to get frequent use this summer!!

Stunning, ethereal white florals. Every note is beautifully blended. Nothing sharp or synthetic. If you are looking for a big white floral, you will be disappointed. This is pure class and understated elegance. Lasts all day on my skin and longer on clothes. I can’t stop smelling my wrists!

Le Temp de Reves is the first orange blossom scent I really enjoy. I’ve never really been drawn to neroli nor citrus before this iteration. This is well- blended and just gorgeous; soft and feminine and timeless IMHO.

What a lovely perfume! This reminds me of my current signature scent, Nirvana French Grey (which is discontinued) --- so I am so excited to have found a great replacement for that scent profile that I love so much!

Orange blossom in pure Annick Goutal style. Flawlessly executed. That also makes it predictable and reassuring. I would love to spend more time with it.

To my nose it’s completely unisex – not particularly feminine, even more like a very light and very refreshing aftershave.

Opens up with pungent, powdery, vintage white florals and orange flower. When it settles, it's not so pungent, but that's pretty much all you get. To me, this is too mature, and the florals are not delicate and creamy, like for example Byredo's Casablanca Lily or Kilian's Love Don't Be Shy and Good Girl Gone Bad. I wish this perfume was less heavy on the white florals and had other notes to balance them out and for complexity. Feminine. Smell: 5 out of 10 Longevity: 7 out of 10 For reference, I'm female.

After a light opening of citrus, I am soon only left with a mediocre soapy scent. I also have Mirto but I hardly see the similarity. Not for me!

I smell the citrusy, bitter neroli and the orange blossom quite clearly. Aromatic, fresh spicy and even soapy, but not necessarily herbal. There's also some light smooth, creamy undertone. If you like neroli, you'll love it. From Annick Goutal website: "A return to the roots in Grasse, where dreams become perfume. Years ago realized I am not a fan of orange blossom or neroli after trying Maurice Roucel's Once Upon a Time Aphrodisia by Brocard. Since Goutal and Mathieu Nardin are at the he top of my list for beautiful scents thought I would try this as the price was right. First few days I thought it was pretty, but not a huge fan. Today waking up from a nap, WOW, I got what everyone loves about orange blossom. The creamy, citrus, veil of sweetness, backed by some wonderful florals I can't discern. Beautiful.

This is a neroli scent, but it is not the typical white loud summery fresh neroli. It has some aromatic vibe that smells to me like licorice, note that I don't usually enjoy, but in this perfume is more like a wood-licorice that gives some creamy and not so scatchy depth to the scent. I know there is no licorice listed, but is the onlt way I can describe it. To me usually neroli is too white and too pungent, but this one has a velvety aura that I enjoy a lot.

Smells like a sharper version of Pure Poison (the original one) to me. I prefer Pure Poison because I'm not a fan of sharpness in perfumes, but this definitely has that French chic vibe to it that I admire. I will probably stick to PP and Jaipur Bracelet. The sharpness tones down after about 10 minutes, so maybe it will grow on me more.

I found this to be too little, and too much. The fragrance is rather pallid overall, but after the top notes subsided I also found it too sweet for my taste for an hour or so. After that, there was just a vaguely orange blossom skin scent, without much character. I don't hate it but there is little to love.

This smells like a higher quality, fresher version of Pure Poison. It's not very interesting unfortunately, and headache inducing because of the PP similarity. Wish Goutal didn't discontinue eau de Camille and Folavril!

The neroli is overpowering on me, it’s all I can smell, and it stays potent for a long time (even after trying to wash it off). I actually found this to be more masculine, like a sweet aftershave.

Classic Goutal. If you just imagine Goutal doing neroli, this is the product. And it is.
