Rose Pompon Eau de Parfum

Heat activated roses that last FOREVER. Opens with Ruby Red pink grapefruit juice cocktail spiked with raspberry Chambord, and as it warms, the roses bloom sweet with vanilla, and stay there for days. Weeks, even. The rose masks the violets, I only smell them in my hair (which is Covid-19 long right now) and on my shirt cuffs when I’m not wearing it. If I pin my hair close to my head the roses open again, same if I re-wear the jacket. In a hot bath the roses get thorny, woods with a bitter bite of the grapefruit again, gorgeous, yet also a bit masculine. There are sexier fruity roses out there—(come to me, baby) Angel Nova and (sigh) Sadanne—but none as delightfully mercurial or long lasting.

This is a very interesting perfume. Beautiful red bottle, nice lasting power. A complex rose, with many supporting florals. Very pleased with longevity and scent journey. It has a light crispness, not a syrupy or musky rose. Sophisticated. This is very feminine. Very classy, floral, sweet and fresh. This is like an honor Venus scent - during the daytime. At night Venus needs a little more sex appeal.

Found this for a steal at Nordstrom rack and took a chance. This is a lovely uplifting feminine perfume that packs a punch. It is prominently rose, with supporting characters of red fruits and powder. One spray does the trick for me and it lasts all day and then some. Recommend!

This reminds me of my old fave Jo malone Rose water and vanilla... awesome turkish rose with a sweet dusty rose vanilla.. similar to Thameen paragrina and same quality.. Just so lovley.. great for spring. I wish it was a little sweeter, maybe good to layer another..

Seems a little change there between 2020 ver. & original.. cuz i can clearly tell which is which. My cup of tea. raspberry, rose, vanilla... Similar to a cherry candle, but the deep scent lasts all day.

A beautiful fresh/sweet/creamy/fruity rose with good sillage and great longevity. Rose lover should check this out.

This is a beautiful rose-raspberry compote, with some extra vanilla and violet notes. The opening is a tad too citrusy for me, but after about ten, fifteen minutes it settles down to a sweet raspberry rose. Within half an hour the vanilla joins the company with a pinch of violet that gives the scent a powderiness, almost a classic make up/lipstick touch. Although sweet, this is a predominantly rose scent so you really have to love rose to be able to enjoy it. Rose is there from the beginning to the very end. Projection is strong for the first few minutes, but settles down to a more subdued, but still a present one after half an hour or so. Longevity is good, both on skin and especially on clothes. For reference I love fragrances such as Tresor Midnight Rose, YSL Paris - and all of it's Springtime flankers -, Bvlgari Rose Essentielle (especially the EDT) and the loved but lost Stella EDP, so obviously I love a scent like this. If you'd prefer your roses more as a support note than a standout this might not be for you. The same goes if you find roses mixed with berries too sweet or roses mixed with violets "too vintage". As a rose lover I'm so happy to have this in my collection and writing this in mid-May in the northern hemisphere it is starting to be the perfect time to wear it -where I live, we're even celebrating Mother's Day weekend this weekend, so this will receive a lot of love. Beautiful, just beautiful!

Sweet and floral, ultra feminine, evokes pastel pink, and screams innocent virgin. The rasberry makes it dry and keeps it from getting too sweet and the violet adds a touch of vintage to a rose that already feels pretty classic. It has great longevity and decent silage. It is also fresh and feels quite youthful, yet more delicate and sophisticated than anything I wore back as a teen. Airy and happy and it doesn’t seem to take itself too seriously but is still of quality and impeccable craftsmanship. This is a daytime scent but there is something about it that makes it unsuitable for casual wear. I could see a young girl <20 wearing this to a formal or semi formal event. Garden party, wedding or baby shower and church come to mind. Not for me, but it’s a good piece of work.

A pleasant light scent exactly like rose water. I always lament when rose scents are heavy and synthetic, so am delighted by this-- the characteristic “rose” aromachemical is very faint, leaving room for floral and citrus facets to shine. I already use rose water spray to freshen up my face during the day, so not too excited by a perfume based on it, but the classic elegance makes this a perfect foundation for any floral lover's collection.

I don't typically consider myself a rose fan due to heavy powders giving it a more mature scent, but this is rose done right. Beautiful and long lasting, though a little flat throughout my wear. I can definitely smell the vanilla undertone in the background, but the citrus top notes never shined through. All in all, a scent I would be happy to wear when the occasion allowed, but definitely not at this price point.

Dazzling joyful little beauty! Juicy sweet raspberries cut with a clean fresh grapefruit open this up to Bulgarian roses and a touch of Violet supported with a moderately sweet Vanilla. Wonderfully balanced. The grapefruit prevents sickening cloying overdone sweetness beautifully on my skin without being sour or bitter. Violet adds a brush of powdered elegance. I love it. Midweight rose, not heavy, not light, a perfect in between with enough density, sensuality, and sweetness to be a soft touch go to in spring and fall, and daytime in the winter. Possibly too much for summer on my skin in the very hot weather. Otherwise terrific! This is a great mood lifter as I catch wafts of it from my hand through the day! I love it!

This is a youthful, fruity rose. Something about the berry struck me as rather artificial. Based on the notes I really thought I would love this one, but I didn't. I didn't even really like it much, to be honest. Also, performance isn't great - short-lived and weak. Scent-wise, I prefer Aqua Allegoria Rosa Rossa, though it also has weak performance.

It isnt ugly. It is girl (not a woman) next door cute scent but it bores me. It has nothing interesting or rich about it. It is very airy rosewater scent. I can not detect vanilla. I even prefer La Rive She Is Mine or Adolfo Dominquez Aqua Fresca De Rosas blancas to this.

It's a sweet, powdery rose. Now that makes it sound like a mature perfume. Not at all. In fact, this is an oddly juvenile rose scent. It's very cloying. I imagine it's like crunching on strawberry sweet tarts until your stomach aches, but in scent form. So sweet and powdery, like tart sugar with a hint of rose. Weirdly enough, I cannot imagine a teenage girl wear this because this is a very sweet sweet powder bomb. 2 hours in and I feel like I'm choked by it. I imagined a more refined jammy rose. Maybe a slightly more fruity but refined Chloe. But bleh. This is not it. Do not blind buy.

A fruity, sugary, densely rosy fragrance that is at once fun because of its confidence but also a bit off putting because of its potency. I thought it might be something like Lychee Rose from Nest, a tart and sweet little pink rose, but it’s much more saturated and rich and upholstered than that. It’s not what I expected from a Goutal fragrance, which are usually more sophisticated and restrained. I heartily agree with other reviewers that Rose Pom Pom seems a little juvenile, as though it were meant for a sixteen year old, only it’s likely no young girl would be comfortable with the overpowering nature of this perfume’s scent bubble. It gives me Britney or Paris of the early aughts energy. It’s a little bit Lolita. I like it, it is fun to wear, but outside of my own home I couldn’t imagine where I would wear it. It lasts a long time on skin, more than ten hours. My overall assessment is that Rose Pom Pom is a beast mode girly fragrance, and I advise spraying with caution.

The opening is beautiful in its citrusy freshness, but it lasts only a minute and soon the rose comes through together with a hint of something sweet and rotten. This last note stays in the background but it somehow spoils the whole experience for me. A couple of minutes later only a dry rose note is detectable. On my skin this is not fresh and radiant. What comes to my mind is a dry rose abandoned in a book for years and suddenly picked up. And at last, the surprise! The vanilla saves it all and adds beauty and completes the rose note, which takes new life and finally becomes a beautiful sweet rose. A fantastic evolution in about 30 minutes. Delicious and yet, not for me.

I got a sample of this recently and sprayed it liberally on my chest and wrists. Fimilar with the EdT I figured I would like this and hoped it would be stronger and longer lasting . My prayers were certainly answered. It hit me like a wave of raspberries and roses, I was unprepared. The next day it had transferred from the cuffs of my jacket,back on to my wrists, it completely overpowered the perfume I was wearing. This is a delightful rose perfume that packs a punch. The bottle is stunning in deep pink. I don't need this in my collection today but I would not turn it down as a gift.

Not a fan of this one. It's vintage/old smelling and a bit cloying. I was surprised because I recently fell in love with Un Matin d'Orage (especially how breathtakingly natural and gentle it was) and expected everything Goutal to have the same kind of subtle artistry, but I washed this one off quickly. It did get more pleasant as it dried down, but I still didn't like it and wouldn't wear it.

An extremely potent and linear patchouli rose. Nothing really special about it. I personally find it stuffy and cloying. This is a gorgeous jammy rose perfume with the raspberry and and vanilla, with a touch of citrus. I love this because the bottle is gorgeous, the rose scent is gorgeous and it is feminine. I am so lucky to have a bottle.
