Rose Pompon Eau de Toilette 2020

Sweetheart Roses of a Deep, Velvety Bouquet... This is an outstanding rose scent, and the bottle pictured does a nice job of describing the shades of rose, although I just have a sample. The EDT here is less jammy than the EDP, although there's still a jammy facet, but it enables you to experience the velvety expansion of the rose petals more fully. All the notes listed are there, but they're serving to enhance & support the velvety, plush, pink-y-red roses with soft berry accents. There's a fluffy, whipped & voluminous quality enhanced by the peony here that's just outstanding. As mentioned, there is a jammy facet here, but it doesn't overtake the rest of the rose. In the late drydown, there's a residual mix of rosy-frutiness, white-musk and woody notes that altogether give a rosy cream-soda/cotton-candy vibe. I find the performance better than expected, although it's an EDT and a lighter weight scent than the EDP, and I think this is suitable for year-round wear although you might need an extra spray or two for a winter evening. This is FB worthy if you're looking for a versatile yet opulent rose scent with a bit of jamminess. It's a love for me. Enjoy!

Update after 2 months: I’m still just using a sample; when I go partially nose blind to it, it’s so sour... will give the edp a try. Update: Rose Pompon smells good alone, but I wish it were stronger alone.. I need me a similar perfume with better performance Tip: Layer Rose Pompon with Rosie by Rosie Jane for longevity!!!! I am 8 hours into wear and the scent is very longlasting on my skin. Rosie has an oily formula, I think that’s what helps. I haven’t tried Rose Pompon on it’s own properly recently so I can’t speak to the longevity of it on its own. I have this sample (EDT) from 5 years ago because of a purchase of Nuit et Confidences FB- at the time I didn’t appreciate it.. just rose, I thought. Today, I was feeling the springtime spirit, and I have been craving rose fragrances lately, having none in my collection whatsoever only samples and decants- so I spritzed this on- and, wow. Creamy, rose supported with cream, raspberry and blackcurrant. I love that the rose is still centre stage. I'm very picky with roses. 5 years into my fragrance journey, and the only 2 roses I can say I really love are Rose Pompon and A La Rose. Homme Rose, L'eau A la Rose, Oud Satin Mood from MFK are all a no from me Rosa Nobile is a no Red Roses from Jo Malone is too simple ..etc.

This is nice, but it's not as amazing as I thought it would be. There are two perfumes that come to mind, which smell very similar to this and they are much cheaper: Amethyst from Lalique, and She is Mine from La Rive. I think if you layered those, it would smell just like this fragrance. Rose Pompon has the black currant, rose, a slight creamy sweetness, and the fizzy pink pepper. The pink pepper is stronger than I hoped it would be and that gives this a weird mishmash of scents. That's the reason I decluttered She is Mine. It was rosey, berry, creamy- but had a blast of pepper that felt like it didn't belong and made everything more sharp rather than balanced. The pink pepper does die down after about 10 minutes and it's much better after that. However, I think Amethyst or Amethyst Eclat from Lalique are much better and cheaper than this scent. If you enjoy the pink pepper aspect then La Rive She is Mine would be an almost spot on alternative, and I believe that's a dupe for YSL Mon Paris. I'm just glad I got Rose Pompon much cheaper than it's up for sale on the official website. It's lovely but there are fragrances that smell spot on which are around $30 instead of the $200 range.

A pretty bright rose scent that (according to Ms. Goutal) was created to capture the happy scene of a girl running into her lover's arms in a parisian sunny day. The scent is indeed happy, bright and light. It reminds me a bit of Toy Boy by Moschino by being a fruity rose. The performance on this one is average, unremarkable. I got a bottle for a very good price online, otherwise I think it's insanely expensive for what you get.

A cheerful fruity rose. Blackcurrant and raspberry give it a juicy pop, while Bulgarian and Taif rose add a romantic swirl. It’s soft, slightly peppery, and powdery toward the dry-down ....
