Madrepérola

I tried it as it just came out in the Granado stores today. I like it. Got my wife and mother a bottle. Notes seem pretty accurate. The top notes are not very prominent, opens up with frankincense and lemon, with a hint of black pepper. Typical Granado top notes. The heart notes are 50% Ylang ylang, 30% tuberose, and 20% orange blossom The base notes are soft musk, and tonka with a slight sandalwood. Pretty good release. As always ignore the 'reminds me of' Granado products on fragnatica have the most inaccurate comparisons. For the price I think the value is great (buying in brazil with $) I got 2 bottles, and 10 soaps for $140. I know in the US a bottle is like $160.

I’ve just gave it as a gift to my mom on Mother s Day. Not before trying it twice at Granado’s stores. First time it reminded me of coconut and vanilla, the second time I could smell a sweet fig. It turns out that Madrepérola has something lactonic in it, and the sweetness is not from vanilla, but tonka. Maybe the chamaleonic element that changea my perception everytime is the tuberose - kinda sweet. a bit artificial fruit flavor. Notes aside, it is a solar, golden, sweet and a bit airy fragrance. It reminds me of summer but I’d rather wear it on springs (or autumns in Brazil). Not my kinda of perfume bur my mom loved it, and that was what made me happy :)

That is exactly the image Madrepérola brought to my mind. It was a wonderful surprise within Brazilian perfumery. I won't say it's revolutionary or unlike anything I've ever smelled before, because it isn't. But it executes its concept beautifully. The opening has a spicy touch that feels slightly woody, dry, and almost powdery. The lemon is quite prominent, but without the sharp, piercing acidity found in fragrances like Light Blue. The pepper helps create that drier, more sophisticated character. Shortly afterward, an intense white floral accord emerges, led by plenty of ylang-ylang and accompanied by a creamy tonka bean note that, on my skin, creates a coconut-like impression. Everything becomes incredibly enveloping, sunny, and elegant. The base is creamy, comfortable, and cozy. It has that naturally pleasant skin scent quality, as if the fragrance were simply a part of you. Wonderful! So far, it's my favorite fragrance from Granado. Even though it is clearly more feminine-leaning, I enjoyed it immensely.

I went to Granado in Brazil today to discover this gem, and it captivated me. A very creamy floral perfume, with a very refined tuberose, not at all chewy or pungent, plus tonka bean, ylang-ylang, and a phantom note of coconut emerges to give a brightness and creaminess to this perfume. In the opening, the frankincense and lemon are quite noticeable, giving a spicy, citrusy, and slightly resinous nuance, but it passes quickly. Soon after comes the very creamy, sweet, and very feminine white floral. The tuberose appears very discreetly, enveloped by the ylang-ylang that gives a lot of creaminess. This floral is very balanced, and no note stands out over the other. A perfect balance. It dries down, and a phantom note of coconut appears, making it even creamier, more comfortable, and sweeter thanks to the tonka bean. Beautiful, sweet, creamy, and feminine perfume. It's very much in the same vibe - but with much more refinement - as Lattafa's Her Confession, which is inspired by Blanche Bête. Beautiful and very pleasant perfume. I loved it and it will definitely be added to my collection.

I came here to talk about this comparison with Blanche Bete. I have both. Blanche bete is soooo much more lactonic and musky at the opening ro the point of being almost bitter. It has something that reminds me of coconut or coconut soap at this point. Madreperola opens up floral, slightly musky, almost like it has Mimosa (it reminds me the chalkiness of Mimosa & Cardomom from Jo Malone). Blanche bete evolves ethereal, angelic, with a clean musky vanilla undertone. On the Evolution, Madreperola starts to remind me of Blanche Bete opening, almost coconuty. But it never reaches the Angelic state of Blanche Bete.

Fuzzy very fuzzy and fluffy scent. This takes the core of Blanche Bete with is coconutty tuberose, tonka, ylang ylang and increased the musk. The musk here feels more intense but is a soft, fluffy type of musk. This is nice, but if you already have Blanche Bete you don't need it unless you are a collector and love this type of scent.

Madreperola's opening is the closest to L'Occitane's Amande Sublime collection. Later it gets creamy and nutty - a lovely beach scent smelling of exotic flowers and sandalwood. It never gets too sweet or heady.
