Tropicália

The opening of Tropicalia is super catching, an addictive blend of pink pepper and sweet, juicy mandarin orange. Then it transitions into a more vegetal scent, with a nutty, powdery iris, carrot like smell. Very different from the initial spray. Not my most favourite phase of the juice! But the dry down gets better, where notes like frankincense is sweetened by tonka beans and warmed up by amber. I have only tried another scent from Granado besides, now, Tropicalia, but I can tell that they have some interesting scents on the unique side. Judging from the two perfumes I’ve tried and based on an affordable price point, I am looking forward to test more from them in the future. The perfumes are different than the average brands, designer or niche, but really beautiful and likeable. I love Tropicalia and I would upgrade to a full bottle once I finish the travel size. Doesn’t smell tropical per se, but smells interesting in a nice way. Moderate performance, it’s not a loud, super intense scent, but has decent longevity.

Um perfume que eu paguei 91 reais na black da granado. Abre parecendo uma massinha de modelar, atalcado e com o pistache bem fresquinho. O pistache nesse perfume vc vai sentir durante a maioria desse perfume. Depois de uns 30 minutos ele fica mais doce, e um pouco mais atalcado, com iris aparecendo mais. 2 horas depois ele fica ambarado , doce e terroso, por causa da cenoura (o pistache já fica mais doce). 4 horas até o final o pistache fica mais no fundo, o âmbar salta mais junto com a iris e a cenoura desce um pouco, mas ainda da para sentir. Ele fixa bem por umas 7 horas na minha pele e projeta por uma hora. Ele é um perfume de nicho com até 375 reais, nacional, parece muito um nicho. Por mim vale o preço, mas não 375 reais, espere uma promoção, mas é muito bom investir nele. Da para usar no calor mas não tão tórrido, porque desanda. Inverno, outono e primavera da para usar de boa, de dia e de noite também.

One of Granado's best launches yet. I get that it's not for everyone, but you cannot say that this isn't an interesting and creative fragrance. It's something really unique for the brazilian market that, although is changing, pretty much still consists of sickeningly sweet perfumes (or, in the summer, full of not-so-creative citruses). One of the truest unisex scents I own. The pistacchio and carrot notes don't read gourmand to me at all, it's more like dry and woody (but definitely not "masculine" woody), and somewhat spicy. Perfect for everyday wear, and office friendly.

List of pros and cons have at least one absurd line each. One of the pros says it's herbal, there's absolutely nothing herbal about this. One of the cons says the name is misleading because it isn't a tropical scent. People, stop embarrassing yourselves, the name is "Tropicália", not "Tropical". Tropicália is a cultural movement from Brazil, the name of the fragrance is about that, not about it being a fruity summer scent or any of that.

At first if kinda smelled like cleaning product, but once it settles after 10 minutes, it smells a m a z i n g. It's one of those perfumes that make you smell clean, like fresh laundry and washed skin, the green notes add a special tang to it. Really like it!!!

WoW.....i didn't expect this. I just want to say that if u find it for a good price....this is niche smell and quality. Very particular...in my collection I don't have anything like that. Try to smell it u won't regret.

This is fine as a green, slightly woody, skin scent. Will experiment with layering it but probably wait until spring.

It kinda does smell like pencils sharpening 😂 now that someone mentioned it. I like it though its like clean light woodyness with some creaminess. The notes seem wild... but they are blended pretty well. You do get nuances of pistachios and earthy carrots to the creaminess. Nither one comes to strong though. It brings me back years ago, when I used to draw and paint, it smells like a wood work shop/art class. It reminds me of high quality artistic color pencils. I wouldn't say this one is "tropical" I more of a early spring/autumn vibe. Unisex, but definitely more feminine leaning. On my wife it smells very silky and creamy. On her its alot less woody and sweet.

Very misleading name, this is far more of a warm and comforting scent than anything fresh and tropical. More suited for the days where its sunny out but there is still a chilly breeze keeping your hands in your pockets.

A juicy opening followed by the carrots and pistachios that just make me hungry but not for those things for like heavy foods. Probably good to wear if you’re trying to bulk

a completely different kind of sweet perfume — sweet like a really clean bakery, with very aromatic flowers. at first, i adored it. the mix of pistacchio and green scents was so alluring and not overpowering. after a few more wears, unfortunately, I am regifting it.

Someone please explain to me what is tropical about this 😠 Like Autumn Vibes but for spring; less woody and earthy (though both can still be detected) - more zesty and herby.

Who would've known pistachios and carrots would go together? Unfortunately, it's a skin scent and opens a bit alcoholic. If this one lasted and projected longer + strengthened the solution to get rid of that rubbing alcohol smell in the opening then it would be a re-buy. You can smell the carrot. It's fresh, but blended well with the pistachio. Both notes are prominent in the dry down but this is light and crisp. The black and pink pepper play a supporting role and are faintly detectable, same for the base notes and the mandarin. Kind of disappointed given the price, I'd say this is worth $65 at best. Racine Carrée by Anatole Lebreton has a way better carrot note that's blended so well with celery and smells like it was pulled up by the root only moments ago.

É um perfume extremamente nichado e fora da curva. Eu dei blind porque amo a casa Granado mas confesso que demorou um pouco para eu entendê-lo. Intrigante, a nota de íris está bastante evidente e junto com o pistache dão aquela sensação de perfume gordo e pesado, amendoado e picante também, uma picancia bem misteriosa, sinto também um lado adocicado com certeza a fava tonka dando as caras, talvez a cenoura também traga esse lado adocicado. É um perfume diferente, não conheço nada igual, precisa apreciar fragrâncias fora do radar, nada óbvias. Não é minha favorita da marca, mas vale a pena ter na coleção por se tratar de uma exclusividade.

For my non Brazilian folks that are saying the name is misleading: “Tropicália” was an artistic and cultural movement in Brazil in the late 60s during the military dictatorship. It was seen as a protest and resistance to the censorship in a creative and bold way, mixing rock and pop with traditional brazilian rhythms like samba. So, yes, the name is very fitting.

Being fitting isn’t the opposite of being misleading. The name is misleading for most people, but yes... it does make sense if you dig into the reasoning behind it.
