Violeta

Beautiful burst of violet flowers and leaves on first spray. Can smell the pink pepper after a few hours while the violet remains prominent. Wearing this late Jan in N Ireland, it is pouring with rain outside and it feels like the promise of spring. Long lasting for a cologne. Beautiful

Beautiful green violet! My favorite from this line. It’s very woody as well, I think these are synthetic types of woods, but I still like it. Lovely subtle sweetness makes it a bit softer. It’s quite radiant and I guess has better longevity than the others from the collection.

An earthy floral, woody, deep green and a bit spicy. The violet note feels to me somewhat mystical, ethereal, delicate, it comes with a powdery touch, but when combined with the earthy and woody tones, it becomes darker, more mysterious. It makes me think of a witchy woman living in the woods, in a house surrounded by wild violets.

Violeta by Granado, as the name suggests, is a full-on blast of violet – almost a punch in the face – but green, unsweetened violets followed by prominent woods. It opens more feminine to my nose; as it develops, the woods give it a more masculine edge, and right at the end it leans feminine again (just my personal perception, of course). This one really clings to clothes and lasts a long time. Violet here feels cooler and more introspective, and combined with the woods it creates a rather sober fragrance – not sad, but certainly not joyful or bright either. I’m still unsure how I feel about it. I’m not a huge violet fan, so I might try some layering to bring a bit more light and cheer into the composition.

Doesn’t really smell like Violet or Iris. No floraly freshness or sweetness whatsoever. It’s dry, nearly moribund...yet not entirely unpleasant. A bit bitter (carrot seed?). A bit woody. But the woods are dark & dank. Something scary lurks in the shadows...
