Lumiere Rose

I saw it millions of times on discount shelves but I never paid any attention to it and I'm very angry with myself for this. Lately in a perfume shop I was talking to SA about that I'm into clean,musky rosey scents and she insisted on trying lumiere rose.it's not what I had in my mine,it's great in it's own place I didn't know it's notes back then and I didn't detect licorice.probably if I looked for it I'd find it there.as a licorice lover I guess that maybe it's what makes this so appealing for me It's a rosey scent.soft,bright and natural smelling.it's also sweet,spicy and powdery It's not a soliflore and there's more than a simple rose going on here I love orange blossom and I believe a touch of orange blossom can make almost every perfume better and I'm happy that it has that touch of it.I can also feel other floral notes here.maybe jasmine?slightest hint of violet?I thought there would be also vanilla and sandalwood here,something that makes this a silky,creamy rosey scent in dry down. I liked it very much though I preferred it's musk to be stronger.this is wearable year round,both days and nights and is youth and lively also has enough sophistication so it would be great for a wide age range.I highly agree with tandaina that it smells expensive and I'm sure if more people give it a try and don't pass it as I did for ages,it can be more popular because it offers very good scent with very good presentation in a very good bottle It's full price is more than 50$ in my country but it can easily be found discounted for half this price which is fair for what it offers I'm adding it to my wantlist and I won't pass it the other day that I see it on a sale Gres also has another great rosey perfume.lumiere noir which is a patchouli-rose combo.it's darker and more sultry and I like it as much There's also other perfume of Gres which I always see sitting near these too.it's name is orient or such a thing and I wish to see it in fragrantica soon ❤❤❤❤ یه عطر رزی دوست داشتنی و باکیفیت که توصیه میکنم اگه به عطرهای رزی علاقه مندید هرجا با قیمت حراج دیدینش (زیر 150 تومن)حتماً امتحانش کنید لومیر رز یه رز شیرین و اسپایسی و پودری داره که همراهیش با شیرین بیان اونو خاص کرده قبل اینکه نت ها رو بدونم فک می کردم بجز شکوفه پرتقال،گلهای دیگه مثل یاس یا حتی بنفشه و همچنین وانیل و صندل هم بین نت ها هستن. چون تو درای داون رایحه رزی خیلی لطیف و حریری داره،هرچند ترجیح می دادم مشکش غالبترین بود اما همینجوری ک هست هم دوسش دارم لومیر رز برای گروه سنی وسیع میتونه مناسب باشه(25 سال به بالا) و مناسب چهارفصله،شب و روز،از رزی های دوست داشتنی و شیک هست و شیشه زیبا و پخش و موندگاری خوبی درکنار قیمت مناسب میتونه اون رو تبدیل به عطر محبوبی کنه عطر رزی دیگه از برند گرس،لومیر نویر هست که ترکیب رز و پچولیه که اونجا رز حضوری تیره تر و اغواگر داره

I have been curious about Parfums Gres for a while now. The Lumiere line caught my attention and I bought 3 out of the 4, I couldn't get the Blanche. This is a very interesting perfume, and I don't have anything like it in my collection. The rose in this reminds me of the pink bubble bath from Avon. The licorice note in this perfume is very strong and so is the musk. If you are not a fan of those notes stay away from this fragrance. The pink pepper is not overdone, it just gives a bit of a lift to a very heavy, musky perfume. I am surprised the animalic note isn't higher in the above chart. I get a lot of animalic orange blossom w/ this perfume. Lumiere Rose is a very sweet bubble bath rose w/ a heavy musk, sweet licorice w/ a heavy animalic orange blossom. Very unusual. Could be cloying if over sprayed. I don't quite know what to make of it yet. My husband really likes it which is surprising because he hates animalic floral notes but then again this is a musk bomb, and he enjoys musk. Again, lots of licorice, and lots of musk, very sweet and quite animalic. A very interesting perfume and a very different rose. I think this could be a rose perfume for the rose hater. I got this for $14 a steal really. I love the bottles in this this line, and I am looking forward to smelling the Lumiere Noire and the Lumiere d' Orient. I have a feeling all 3 of these are going to be unusual and unique finds for my collection. Edit: Later this evening.... Wow when I first tested this, I liked it quite a bit, but I may now have to upgrade Lumiere Rose to a Love. This is the musk I have been looking for. My go to musk has been Joy Forever but that perfume as beautiful as it is (one of my favorites) it isn't really a musk, it is a true amber floral. I have many floral woody musk's in my collection, but I don't find any of them all that musky to tell the truth. Lumiere Rose dry's down to the most beautiful soft musk that isn't like the musk's I wore in the 80's. It is sweeter and a lot prettier. This perfume travels a lot and goes through many different stages. All of them are beautiful. What I really love about this perfume is it is different w/out trying to reinvent the wheel as so many Niche fragrances try to do and many of them end up smelling just horrid. I am really excited to try the others in this line.

Most perfumes deliver the strongest blast at the opening, but not Gres Lumiere Rose; it's one of those unusual perfumes that I've noticed actually get more intense as it dries down. Additionally, to my nose, the rose -- while present -- is so submerged in licorice, pepper, and orange blossom, it really becomes something else. This is a very unique and interesting perfume, but also quite wearable and not especially challenging -- unless you hate licorice, of course! It does bear some resemblance to the original Lolita Lempicka (which also has licorice) but I find it warmer and more "loving" than LL, which I own more for the historical significance rather than to wear. Also, I see why some folks might draw comparisons with Guerlain Insolence, too -- another unusual perfume -- but where Insolence is cold and dewy, Lumiere Rose is warm and powdery. And, for a somewhat gentle-projecting, non-power housey perfume, Lumiere Rose lasts surprisingly well on me; I can still smell it on my skin after 7 or so hours. Finally, while it's not the same as The Body Shop Nigritella, which I just picked up -- and which often gets compared to Dior Hypnotic Poison -- it shares with it a gentle though strong presence, coziness, powderiness, and licorice-type note (Nigritella has no licorice, though). Overall, Lumiere Rose is an interesting, impressive, unusual perfume that's pretty much a total bargain. I highly recommend it.

Lovely, powdery, sweet, with a very soft anise note that is so pleasing and interesting. The rose is light and so is the pepper. It’s beautifully blended and balanced, very feminine, and my nose stays glued to my wrist I love it so much. It’s an under the radar great perfume. I tend to be a dedicated oversprayer, but have been exercising more restraint lately. Rose Lumiere is wonderful when heavily applied, but truly gorgeous to me with a lighter hand because, as annasarahr121 said, it intensifies as it progresses. I’m very burned out on vanilla scents, especially in the dry downs - thankfully, I don’t detect any at all in Rose Lumiere, only a more prominent soft musk that gradually emerges. What really surprises me is that in the last stages the anise is noticeably stronger. With the musk, it’s just beautiful. I find that this scent really stays with me - the more often I wear it, the better the longevity is. It lasts a good 8-10 hours on me. This truly is my very favorite of the several Gres perfumes I own. I don’t find similarity to Insolence, which I do not experience as soft, powdery and ladylike - I get a bratty stomped foot, hands on hips, hissy fit opening in Insolence that always makes me laugh and it fits for certain times and places. The licorice in LL is so harsh and overwhelming to me, like a nuclear Lutece, that I am not able to appreciate anything about it. LR’s strength is its subtlety.

Tam kıvamında, yumuşak bir esinti gibi bir gül parfümü. Ilk 10 dakika sonrasında daha da güzelleşiyor. Biber çok yakışmış. Aslında fresh bir gül havası var. Çok hoş bir şişe ve ambalajı var. Bunun yanına dahi yaklaşamayacak parfümlerin satış fiyatı aklıma gelince tabiki şaşırıyorum. Hak ettiği değeri en azından ticari olarak görememiş bir parfüm bence. Karşımıza çıkarsa denemeye bile gerek duymadan alın. Kadın parfümü olarak sınıflanmiş ve doğru yapılmış. Ancak bir erkekte çok az sıkarak yada tütün yada deri ağırlıklı bir parfüm ile karıştırarak kullanabilir. Güçlü bir konsantrasyon. Kalıcılık ve koku dağılımı gayet iyi. Bahar ve sonbahar aylarında çok keyifli olacaktır. Eğer gül seviyorsanız bunu mutlaka edinin. Ben Bahçeşehir File markette buldum. Bu arada yanında en az bunun kadar başarılı aynı serinin başka parfümeride var.

I couldn't say it better than SweetJhane and others have done. This is an exceedingly pleasant, rosy blend. No pink pepper overdose. Orange blossom and anise and musk balance everything to perfection. I didn't know it WAS anise until reading the notes here. It's the mysteriously different touch which never overwhelms. Lovely, lovely, lovely. Almost ageless, really. This is a nearly inoffensive fragrance - barring that anise - which happily guarantees it is not boring! Recommended. <3 Update: Literally beautiful, if short-lived, as many roses are. Expensive smelling, a bit powdery, with an amber-ish note and pillowy musk base. This is comforting in the extreme. Wears close to skin but has an elegance and slight freshness that suits all weather and is rather versatile. Four stars and Five were it stronger. A real winner.

Lumiere Rose deserves more love! It is a beautiful, complex rose scent, and it's so inexpensive. It's long-lasting, and has decent (but not overpowering) sillage. What more could I want? I've tested several other rose scents recently (My Burberry, Marni, Roses de Chloe), and for me, Lumiere Rose beats them all for one reason or another. The rose in this fragrance smells like the Evelyn roses I grow in the garden. It's not synthetic-smelling at all. On first spray, the scent is just ROSE. After the dry-down, you get all the other complexities. The pink pepper (one of my favorite notes) is perfect with the rose, and the licorice adds a little more spiciness. The hint of orange blossom keeps the rose from being shrill, and the musk sort of grounds it. It's just a lovely composition.

I love the rose scent. I love how many different facets it can have. I proudly own many different scents built around the noble rose accord, so I blind bought this one and I discovered another little gem form House of Gres. It comes in a solid, elegant and simple bottle. The juice inside is so beautiful: elegant, yet not something that requires evening gowns, playful, but not childish, a perfect daytime and office scent, but could also fit in the evening. It opens with a sweet, somewhat powdery rose (not the fruity, nectar like one, this one is more serious) and than the licorice comes and adds a note of uniqueness to it. I can hardly smell orange blossom. A warm, cosy woody base completes this gorgeous scent. It was such a great buy! I really love wearing it.

Gorgeous rose. Light, very pink with spicy woods and supporting white flower. It's an over used cliche but this is a fragrance that smells far more expensive than it's sale price. In fact it feels to me much like Guerlain's Elixir Charnel Oriental Burlant. No they aren't dupes for one another but the same powdery, woody, white flower feel hovers in both. Lumiere Rose wears just as elegantly and there is something almost chewy and incredibly craveable about the scent. It isn't gourmand exactly, but after just one wear I found myself looking for excuses to spritz more and more of this delightful little gem. I long ago stopped buying perfumes that were not head over heels loves. This year I added Lumiere Rose (thanks to a trade) and very glad I did.

Just purchased this after seeing it for a bargain at Burlington and then checking the reviews here and pricing it on ebay and amazon for double the price. It really is similar to Lolita Lempicka which is one of my favorite fragrances. I would have to say I like Lumiere Rose even better. The licorice is a little more subtle and the rose is very soft as I am not a fan of heavy rose fragrances. This has a lovely powder, soft musk and sweet rose dry down that's close to the skin but long lasting. I'm really enjoying the scent and glad I picked it up. After wearing this for 5 hrs. it smells like a mix of Guerlain Insolence and Lolita Lempicka which is a good thing since I love both fragrances.

My first impression of this beautiful perfume was that it has a very clean, natural composition; you get no garish, artificial notes. It is a lush, sweet, powdery (I smell violet, though I know it isn't part of the composition), floral musk. In my opinion, this perfume is subtly sexy. Very good longevity, and good projection. I'm thinking of making this my signature! Update: If you want to kick the pink pepper up a notch in this, layer with Perfumer's Workshop Tea Rose edt. I put the Tea Rose on first and let it dry down for a few minutes, then I add the Lumiere Rose. Gorgeous!!!!! Oh, and if you put this combo on clothes, it will last a lot longer and improve the already good sillage.

LUMIÈRE ROSE by GRÈS can be the rose perfume for oriental fragrance lovers. It has sweetness at the top and mysteriousness later on. It is elegant and charming, a bit hard to handle but not in a teenage girly way. It immediately reminded me of Lolita Lempicka without knowing anything about licorice. Fragrantica says, the spicy licorice is also in Hypnotic Poison edp, Bvlgari Jasmin Noire, Guerlain La Petit Robe Noire and Lancôme La Nuit Tresor. The sillage is strong, the longevity, 2 to 3 hours, the bottle is heavy and beautiful. It is worth looking into Gres for budget treasure hunting.

Another beautiful fragrance by Gres that can be had for peanuts. This is a lovely, not overly spicy rose perfume. It's quite versatile, and though it shines best in the spring, it's quite wearable in all seasons and most situations. Light silage, decent longevity. I now have all 4 from this collection, and really enjoy all of them. Right now, I see at the top of this page that FragranceX has it on sale for $14.99. If you're a fan of rose, here's a chance to own a charming and I'd even say sophisticated one for the price of a movie ticket or even less!

One of my favourite rose fragrances, Lumiere Rose is beautiful, rich and long lasting. The musk, licorice and pink pepper are a wonderfully mixed base and the rose dances, joyfully, gracefully over, around, in between, teasing and smiling while leading you on its path along sunlit vistas. As with many Gres fragrances, there is a definite strictness, nips and tucks to make the pleated whims and fancies enhance the sheer joy of wearing it. Gorgeous and generous, this is lovely.

This fragrance expression is not quite for me. Reviews that it is lovely are true. The rose & licorice dominate. This licorice is the candy "good & plenty" to me. I have read Rose Gres is a twin for coco Chanel mademoiselle. I haven't smelled mademoiselle in a long time, so I can't confirm this but I can say that it has chanel-like notes. I get no pink pepper, and the wood is either so subtle or well blended that it simply lends a hue to the main shade, so to speak. The bottle accurately represents: this frag is round and pink. I smell at times that it smells vaguely of cosmetics- like a pink loose powder blush I owned as a child with a big puffy applicator. There is nothing, dirty or sensual about Rose Gres, nor is it overly mannered or reserved. The innocence of it made me think of it as a scent I'd give to my daughter to wear to make her feel grown up and pretty. Because of this lack of sensuality, it has two marks. Rose Gres says "I like to bake cookies & wear frosty pink lipstick". This was me at 6, and my grandmother at 66. Rose Gres is a lovely choice for those age frames. It's also happens to be very affordable. Sillage is moderate, longevity is good.

This is a very nice, complex but not overwhelming rose. As @highonfumes said, I’ve read it described as some kind of dupe for Coco Mademoiselle. Well, I admit that I can smell the similarity, mostly in the rose / orange blossom accord, but Lumiere rose actually smells more refined on me / to my nose - which is a lot coming from me, since Mademoiselle has been my signature scent for almost ten years, before I “outgrew” it. The reason why I perceive Lumiere Rose as more pleasant / refined that Mademoiselle is probably because I love the liquorice note of Lumiere rose, while I find the patchouli in Mademoiselle a bit overpowering. In any case, I wouldn’t call it a dupe because the orange blossom only lasts for around 15 to 20 minutes on my skin, and then it’s all rose, liquorice and sandalwood. If I had to find an adjective to describe this fragrance, I’d probably choose, balanced. Nothing feels out of place, or “too much”, everything’s blended perfectly. This would make a lovely signature scent, in my opinion.

I love the feeling that this perfume leaves on my skin - it's like a soft, warm blanket that covers my body in the cold autumn/ winter days. Rose and licorice are dominant, and even though I don't like licorice in this fragrance it does not bother me, maybe thanks to the pink pepper. I love orange blossom but in this frag it is barely there, if there at all. It's all about rose - deep, complex rose that goes stronger as the time goes by. Lumiere rose is very sweet by the licorice but not in a gourmand way, not edible at all. Simply enough to warm the cold winter days. Long lasting and with good projection. A keeper.

Lumiere Rose - is a very sweet somewhat powdery rose with small hints of pink pepper. Ah but the licorice is a strong note that lingers. Lumiere Rose is imo a very feminine scent, to the reviewer below, Mojtabaa, I would probably suggest the Noire version which to me is a bit richer deeper rose due to the amber note. Lumiere Rose has more of a sweet summery feel to it. It is not a weak scent, this last all day on my skin, but it does have a lighter and airy feel to it. Gres presented two fabulous rose scents, each different and unique composition but if I had to pick only one, it would be Noire.

This is nice...it's light, flowy, delicate...no huge sillage monster here. The longevity is definitely there though. I was hoping the pink pepper was even somewhat existent. I'm a little disappointed with that. However, I don't think licorice should be the number one listed element in this perfume. It's just not there. Maybe it rounds out the rose in a delicate way but the "votes" for the licorice top note is just wrong. I'm on the fence. This is a crowd friendly, hug friendly, not sure about allergy friendly though...I think I will try the noir version of this line next.

From my favorite inexpensive niche house, Lumiere Rose is a lovely, tender rose that is more interesting than most office-day perfumes. The rose is quite sweet, the licorice is very subtle (thank goodness), and the orange blossom adds a nice touch. The pink pepper and musk are low-key. Pretty, pleasant, enjoyable to wear, and inoffensive. The sillage is moderate, but not heavy. The longevity is moderately good. A great value for a pretty rose perfume.

Very natural rose on me, with lovely longevity. Unlike some roses, this one is a departure from the "in your face", synthetic, overly sweet alternatives. I get a hint of orange blossom spice but no powdery backwash. After searching for a very long time for a lovable rose, this one makes me happy. Months later...this is a powerhouse as far as longevity. Sprayed a little last night around 8 and this morning woke up to a blanket of roses. Impressive!

This perfume is soft and feminine with good lasting power. It's a wonderful blend, very balanced between the pepper and rose. The liquorice note is barely there, and it settles to a soft musky scent that really works with your skin. Not overly sweet, just pleasantly powdery and gently veiling. Beautifully feminine with a vintage allure.

The pink pepper is bright... You can feel it quite well at tbe begining... Then it began to be nice sweet and licorice... Then it gets musky and gone.. On my skin its not a perfume that is there... And it keep coming to you from time time, depends on your mouves... Its way to light... Safe... Very diferent then lumiere noire wich i love

I loooove it! Rosey, spicy, sweet goodness. Very warm and sensuous feeling for me. That licorice note is sooo good. Very subtle... I received my bottle as part of a trade, but I may have to buy a bottle, too, as it's so decently priced and of such good quality! I don't think I will want to run out of this one.

Lovely. This is a shampooey clean, pretty rosy musky scent that has a spicy touch. The musk note is not grandma-ish which I appreciate. Very versatile. Longevity and sillage is around moderate but it is worth the price.

It needs a few minutes to bloom, but once it does it becomes a pretty rose, young and fresh, bouncy and fun loving. The opening though, to me - is absolutely, no mistaking it, BRECK shampoo. I love the nostalgic scent of BRECK, and it's a pretty parfume - but I can't bring myself to douse with BRECK. It does strike me as a rose for a younger lady, and definitely a more innocent lady than myself.

Lumiere Rose by Gres is a soft, powdery rose punctuated with pink pepper. My impression was a synthetic, aldehyde rose fragrance akin to floral hairspray. The base notes of this fragrance are similar to Miss Dior. Not my cup of tea.

I diSliked this fragance. weak longivity, soft sillge. WHO PERFUME LIKE WILL NOT LIKE THAT THING. MONEY SPENT ON NOTHING

Sweet syrupy cherry spicy screaming I am 16, no soft roses at all. The longevity is poor.

Spicy rose with musk, and something nauseatingly soapy - prolly the white floral note.

If you like roses in your perfume, this is a pretty good choice but I wouldn't make it your only choice. There are better rose fragrances out there. It's not a strong rose. It's soft but it's also a bit spicy. It has licorice which to my surprise actually make a good combo with the rose. A fragrant Orange blossom is at the top and musk at the bottom. I didn't feel that there was any musky at all. It's powdery. Not a lot of life, over in about 3 hours, but not a bad scent to get you through your day. Simple and sweet. Love the bottle. I like to collect pink perfume bottles. I find that they're great to wear any day any time any place. I have to buy more from this line. Affordable but can feel very luxurious. This is like a very sweet rose powder with sweet licorice. Love it.

I bought it for my wife. Luckily she liked it. Pity that she says she can't smell it on her after 3rd hour. But she'll finish the bottle using four sprays skipping only winters. I sprayed twice on my elbow last morning. It projected well next 3-4 hours. No trace of rose in this. Liquorice and orange blossom is very obvious (I remember the same orange blossom from Gaultier's Fleur Du Male). I kept getting the whiffs of it until dinner time. By the 9th hour, I got very nice clean musk for a couple of hours. But I can't wait that long for that clean musk. Very feminine. And no girly at all. Perfectly fine for 30+ women. Good price for this performance and fragrance. A good alternative for Insolence EDT (2006).

This is the best rose for your buck I found so far.. The opening is super sweet, like a sugary-rose lipbalm. This sweet rose lasts about 3 hours with a projection powerful enough so people around you notice it. It is very girly, but in a good way. No soapy rose here, jammy with a little bit of powder in the drydown. I find it quite natural. After 3 hours, it stays close to skin. I would not describe it as a spicy scent. It's jammy-sweet-natural-girly. I have very little pink pepper, I believe the licorice is stronger on my skin.

Lumiere Rose Gres smells very similar to the original Lolita Lempicka for women, but instead of having a green ivy note – Lumiere Rose has a sweet rose note! The licorice is very prominent in this fragrance as well with a thick resinous sweetness and a woody undertone. The orange flower is detectable in the beginning with a bubble gum vibe and a very subtle musk. Overall I would say that if you like roses and licorice or were looking for a sweeter version of Lolita Lempicka, give this a try!

I decided to give this a try due to the reviews and notes - WOW I LOVE this. I blind bought it for $20 online and this makes up for all my other bad blind choices. It's sweet and creamy and just lovely - it's a soft perfume that stays with you like rose licorice baby's breath. I hate when you buy a perfume that smells great for 3 minutes then does a disappear poof! Nothing will ever replace my Angel Rose but I'm happy to say I would wear this every day and be content.

Oh my, I want this so much, Gres are such quality french perfumes, the notes, the image. I love florals, gourmands and musky scents, this has checks all three points. The romantic rose, the sweet licorice, the sensual musk. This reminds me immediately of the Truth or Dare, a sweet floral with musk. I am so happy I found this gem, although somewhat hidden, I love niche, unknown, special, different scents.

This is a nice unusual take on rose, it is sweet, softly so, most rose scents are usually watery rose, this is better, it is like more grown up, gets a bit powdery in the base, just real soft and pretty, anybody who likes a soft pretty scent with a hint of licorice will like it!! I think the licorice makes the scent!!!

It seems it is more of a fruity, floral, there is peach and pear added along with violet and sandalwood. Of course, the rose and the licorice seem to be the notes most users catch. Pretty. I like it a lot. Perfect for the cool spring weather and very maidenly. Even with the animatic note. Probably will use it on my daughter. On myself when I feel the craving for it. Which is funny, now that I think of it. I do the same with house of gres Cabotine. Sometimes you just crave it. :D

This stuff is cute to the extreme! I paid $3.99 for it and feel like I robbed a bank. Hehe. It's kind of dreamy, childlike, fluffy and shampooey. A little like LL fleur defendue with rose added. Instant love.

I bought this little gem (a tester) for about $10. How can I describe it. If Bvlgari Jasmin Nior. Was Rose, instead of Jasmin. That's just about what it smells like. But, just a bit softer

Similar to Lolita Lempicka's Fleur Defendue with its overall soft and baby powder sweet accord. However, Gres's Lumiere Rose is more succulent and juicy, making it more of a standout.

If you love bvlgari fragrances you will love this. I love rose fragrances. It's too light though. But it does smell good. Soft rose, with a hint of sweet.
