Duchessa

Immediate cherry and saffron. I like that this reads dry and spicy and a bit powdery. Ok wow I am about 30 minutes in and it’s a stunner for me. I’m not sure how other people would feel about this scent around me but I could smell this all day. Blended really well. The saffron is heavy here so maybe avoid if you aren’t a fan. The other fruit notes punch up the cherry which I find to be pretty smooth in this scent. It does ride very close to the skin. I mostly get saffron over a citrusy cherry with some powdered almond and a hint of sweetness at the bottom. I kinda love it but not sure if I could justify a FB purchase (due to price and performance). We will see ...I need to spend some more time with it. **UPDATE** I came back to say this may be my cherry perfume pick. It’s really works for me and I get the Cherry well into my wear along with a beautiful blend of the other notes. That saffron is prominent but I like it. I have been hunting for awhile bc I like a cherry note but none had hit the right spot. Lovefest BC almost did ...BUT I still need to test the OG Lost Cherry and Cherry Punk. Last two that I want to try. Odd I haven’t smelt LC yet 🤔 UPDATE: she is my girl. Cherry Punk came close (which is weird because first wear I disliked the opening intensely) but Duchessa won my heart. 🍒 ♥️

This is what TF Lost Cherry wish it was. I came across some reviews claiming similarity between the two. It is only similar because it is gourmand. Duchessa opens as an almond coffee cookie, an expensive bitter one, no idea how they managed to make an almond dessert something as expensive and sophisticated as it is. You feel quirky yet powerful and in control. The evening is yours. It smells heavy and intoxicating, yet, you just want more. You want to drown in this scent even though it is heavy (which I usually dislike - this scent is an exception) Unlike a lot of sweet gourmand scents, it smells complex without sweetness making your teeth hurt. Again, wouldn’t expect it from an almond cookie. Unfortunately on dry down the almond cookie is gone. It still smells pleasant and expensive I can’t figure out the sillage, it definitely makes a cloud around you, i smell it all the time. Maybe it has this power over me and puts me in the bubble where i lost touch with reality. Thus i am not sure others notice it but the staying power is enormous (just like the price). I strongly advice you try it enough, get a sample, wear it; it stays on your clothes for days. Clearly, this is an evening perfume and you won’t need a lot. Will work for any season

First sniff, immediate love! WOW! The notes in Gritti "Duchessa" spoke to me because I love chocolate-cherry-floral perfumes. I am awaiting my third bottle of Navitus "Venom of Love," which I love and crave. I finally blind bought x 100ml bottle of Duchessa. Duchessa opens with a strong, tart, dark cherry note that immediately merges with chocolate and jasmine. Saffron adds a gentle, soft, suede-like note that is not harsh, synthetic or sharp. The chocolate accord is not cloying, overly-sweet or gourmand. I do not detect clove, or spiciness in the fragrance. Iris adds the perfect amount of powderiness to the dry-down. The perfume is beyond gorgeous beautiful. I own and love Afnan "Cherry Bouquet," Kayali "Lovefest Burning Cherry" and Navitus "Venom of Love." I LOVE Duchessa. And I LOVE Venom of Love. But Duchessa is more floral with less sweet chocolate than Venom of Love. And these two characteristics distinguish Duchessa from Venom of Love and other sweet cherry-chocolate fragrances. Performance seems like it could be better but I do not care. Duchessa is not a loud, or beast-mode fragrance. Initial silage is less than arms length. Gorgeous. I absolutely positively love it.

This is pure L O V E for me. I truly don't understand the bad reviews as for me this perfume is just divine. I'm a serious perfume hoarder and usually get bored of the sent about 10 minutes after I buy it. But Duchessa is different. I'm reaching for it all the time and this has easily become my signature. It feels sexy but not in-your-face kind of way. Kind of like unapproachable, mysterious, even dangerous sexiness. I agree june7moon - it truly smells like a wealthy, sensual woman but I would also like to add that there's something dangerous about her. Maybe she's the boss of a drug cartel, maybe she's a deadly assassin, whatever it is - the looks seem tempting but you know there's something dark about her. I believe it's thanks to the saffron which gives an airy yet mysterious twist. Plus, it has a beautiful sillage. Lost Cherry feels just plain and syrupy when compared to this one. The closest comparison could be Bodacious by Boadicea which is heavier and more dense, which is too much for me.

I have acquired a collection of Lost Cherry scented fragrances, Duchessa being my newest. I have LC and absolutely love it, but it doesn't really last on skin, and for the amount of sprays I need in order to have it project makes it not my favorite out of my other cherry fragrances. Duchessa is my new cherry favorite. There is something about it that makes it stand out above LC. This was a blind buy and I am so happy I have it, because I seriously love this fragrance. I see some people comparing it to MFK Baccarat Rouge 540...I am not seeing that at all. This to me is just very similar to Tom Ford's Lost Cherry, but with more depth. I guess with the saffron people might connect 540 to Duchessa, but the vibe and the overall fragrance is completely different. Duchessa has a moderate projection and lasts over 8 hrs. If you like Lost Cherry and are a collector of cherry fragrances I would say this is a safe blind buy.

This is a love of first whiff! I immediately get this wet cherry - the type for Old Fashioned cocktails- the dark syrupy AMARENA FABBRI ones. It is bright, intoxicating , and boozy, I can draw comparison to Kayali Lovefest and maybe a deeper darker Tom Ford Electric cherry (less lost cherry since that has a more cooked /pie scent). I think off the bat it is very rich almost as if it has an oil base since i don’t feel alcohol in it when sprayed and has an intimate scent bubble. I definitely see this scent becoming cloying on car rides or hot weather because it is incredibly sweet, but if you are a fan of sweet cherry this is perfect. As the top notes dissipate, I get a bit of bitter almond/marzipan but a bright jammy orange note with the cherry still shines on. For me this could be an amazing date night scent - certainly full bottle worthy but will post updates with extended wear time.

I got this fragrance as a sample and I knew I would need to get a full bottle. I love it more than any other cherry fragrance that I possess, TF and even Sirene which is really only appropriate for nighttime/special occasions. It’s a chilly spring and I’ve been wearing it all the time as it creates the most delicious scent bubble you can imagine but isn’t gourmand in any way. Just unapologetically sexy. As for compliments I haven’t received any yet, it’s the kind of fragrance you can observe people noticing but are embarrassed to remark upon casually because of its sexiness and complexity. I will revisit this review if the weather stays on the cooler side and I can still wear it. I’m waiting on my full bottle to arrive (Mother’s Day present) and I don’t want to give up wearing Duchessa until the heat of summer begins and I switch to more ethereal fragrances.

This was an instant Love on 1st spray. There was a strange, stinky animalic note at first, but it went away quickly. Idk if it was the Saffron, Chocolate or Brown Sugar as all 3 of these notes are new for me. I thought I would dislike Saffron but it didn't bother me in this perfume and it was definitely noticeable in a good way. The bitter orange came through also, but in a subtle way, mixed with the peach & cherry. To me, this is a gorgeous, well blended, well bslanced perfume. It reminded me of a more elegant, complex & refined version of "Cherry Bouquet" by Afnan with similarities to TF - LC also. It lasted all day on me with good projection and moderate sillage. The dry down was not really leathery on me, which was disappointing, but more like a men's cologne scent (metallic maybe?). This is definitely in my list for my top 10 so far.

The opening of Duchessa is insanely decadent- like wearing a leather jacket and eating the Luxardo cherry out of your Old Fashioned. The cherry lasts a very long time on my skin, well past 3-4 hours. It’s dark and syrupy, not very sweet or medicinal. The chocolate, cloves and brown sugar give a dry, spicy sweetness. But, thanks to the Jasmine and Iris, this never becomes fully gourmand. Over time, the performance of my bottle has improved significantly- I used to get about 4-5 hours or wear time, now I get more like 8. It can be pretty loud, so be careful not to overspray near your face. I feel like Duchessa is a very femme fatale type scent- best for cold weather date nights, especially if you’ll be dressed up or doing things outside. It makes me think of the color oxblood.

Dark & mysterious. This is LISLE VON RHUMAN in Death Becomes Her. Red lips, dark hair, very desirable. Ideal for cozy cold weather.. The perfect FALL potion. Not for everyone of course. This is a BOLD feminine tonic for HER who DARES to be different. The opening notes are exactly that, bold and daring. A taste of YOUTH & VITALITY. Tart cherry, bitter peach and a bouquet of jasmine flowers, surprisingly sweet yet spicy. It warms up to a delicious cup of luxurious hot chocolate, burning fire place and delicious peach cobbler. Stays bold throughout the night. Hot brown sugar latte with a shot of expensive rum and cherry cigarettes. I LOVE IT. Best if worn at night. P.S. I can't promise you eternal youth but you will smell amazingly "out of this world" very enigmatic. BISOUS

Vampy, sexy, dark. Great date night fragrance. The cherry & saffron here is so well blended. Goth girl vibes. Dark chocolate drizzled black cherries. Dry down is animalic juicy cherry. Such a unique & well done composition! This is a top 3 perfume in your collection good. Update: Used up my sample and immediately bought the full bottle. Wow the black velvet and gold bottle (the lid reminds me of a gold bar) might be my favorite perfume bottle in my collection. The bottle I received smells even JUICIER and seductive than the sample. I cant stop smelling my arm. This is absolutely one of my top perfumes for life. I can smell myself all day with 4 sprays. So vampy, sexy, mysterious, seductive.

I love this fragrance. I got a sample and have worn it a few times now, I am very pleased! It smells very sexy and feminine, a nice rich sweet cherry. It is an easy pleaser, I feel it's a great fragrance choice for date night or anytime during the fall and winter. It is rich and deep, not suitable for summer in my opinion unless you're wearing it to a bar. For me I can smell it on my skin for 8+ hours, and those around me can smell it for maybe 5+ hours (I have asked for feedback which is how I know!). It is not quite the same as YSL black opium but something about it gives me similar vibes, so if you like black opium you'd definitely like this one!

"This smells toxic", my husband commented. Whatever that means... I don't care. This perfume deserves all the hype and more. It's a really intense, luxurious sour cherry(-lollipop) scent. It's for the colder months, but I miss it so much right now (July). Also I'm a bit pissed, Demi discovered this a week after I bought it, because I wanted it to be my little secret. What a gatekeeper, I know. But you can rip this off my dead hands. Big love, for sure! Edit: One evening my man came home slightly drunk from a party and said half asleep: You smell REALLY nice. I knew he just wanted to be edgy when he told me it smells toxic the first time!! :D

I am yet to come across an almond scent that I don't like and this one in particular, is an almond note lover's dream! Coupled with that deep cherry, the sultry almond really shines through. It almost has that marzipan like quality to it but not too sweet. Just pure mature indulgence at its best. Seems targeted for nighttime wear but I find myself rocking the hell out of it even during summery days! No fragrance police has stopped me yet so, I am good! Makes you feel beautiful in a mysterious alluring way. Longevity is moderate and yet it's full bottle worthy in my eyes (read nose, ha!).

For me, this is love at first sniff as it opens with juicy cherry and almonds. Like a maraschino cherry cordial. No cough syrup here, folks! And just like that, the almond is gone. Poof! The sweet saffron takes over as a sour cherry note lingers mixed with bitter orange. The depth of progression on this fragrance is crazy. Duchessa smells expensive! Others commented on the performance but, unfortunately for me, this doesn't last on my skin. I've heard it has better longevity if worn on your clothes. Which is a bummer because I want to bath in it.

Immediately out of the box, I knew that I would like it. I could smell the Cherry, the smokiness and a depth that I do not find in Tom Ford. This is defnitely something that I am going to love using now in the fall. It is my first spray so I will have to update once it has been on for awhile. But If the longevity is there, then I know that I wil love this. This Marzipan note is simply stunning. So cozy. Update: 5 hours later and it is still there and still gorgeous. I can smell the almond, the saffron and the white blossoms. This is a stunner

Recently purchased following a sample and despite the cost I think it’s worth every penny !! It’s a deep luxurious scent that’s well put together and screams luxury & says expensive ! Despite notes it doesn’t come across to me as gourmandy , just rich and dark , warm and inviting , the cherry is prominent on opening and on dry down , it’s just gorgeous. Lasts well on my skin at least 7-8 hrs and I had 2 compliments on first wear , and I did not overspray so it projects well .... total love ❤️

This smells like the beauty counters when you enter at a department store or elevated department store style fragrance. The powders the lipsticks and the blend of syrupy perfumes in the air. i usually hate almond, here with a juicy cherry it works. Very likable. Going to test further before I commit to a FB. Interested as a winter signature The dry down is where the magic is. Cocoa.. boozy... cherry. Great! All year round appropriate I do crave to wear this Edit: found my cherry!

I’ll start by saying I do not like boozy cherry fragrances. I can’t stand Lost Cherry and not a fan of Venom of Love (which I find to be very close to Lost Cherry). I like Kayali Lovefest because I don’t get the boozy feel in it. When I got a decant of Duchessa, I was blown away. I never thought I’d find a cherry fragrance I’d like, but I truly believe it’s the saffron in this one. I get br540 vibes from it, mixed with some cherry. Definitely a love, worth the price? - not sure.

One of my favorite cherry frags. Very almond forward with a nice animalic hit. The cherry isnt a sharp fresh cherry, its a deeper darker cherry which laaaaaaasts. The longevity of this frag is eternal. Sprayed my wrist in my vehicle and 3 days later it still smells like Duchessa. I dont get much chocolate on the skin but when its on my leather coat it sneaks out. Dry down doesnt change much from the inital spray other than the saffron comes forward. Love it. So complex and deep.

I am not a fan of cherry, have just 2 in my collection this being the 3rd one. I went to scent bar, and asked for something intoxicating and the man showed me Duchessa. This is truly intoxicating. Perfect for the fall and winter or even date nights. It’s a very sexy well blended cherry and the saffron and almond add a lot of depth to it. Yes the first 10 minutes is similar to Lost Cherry, but when the saffron and chocolate kicks in, it’s truly divine.

Pure seduction on skin. Perfect for date night or going out with the girls but be warned. This will attract ALL the attention whether you like it or not. I wore this out to a club and had GROUPS of guys approaching me telling me I smelled good. It actually became annoying but if you want the male gaze wear this! Definitely a dark, mysterious cherry scent with a nicely blended chocolate/saffron.

Its a beautiful smooth cherry but its not that different from other much less pricey options so I can't justify the cost. I will stick with my Venom of Love. Duchessa is not as almondy nor as chocolatey although the chocolate is like a rather yummy Kinder egg on the skin. It is perhaps a more of an all year round cherry. The longevity is disappointing too. A love, but I prefer Venom of Love.

@ingrid81 you might have a bad batch This fragrance is actually cherry forward & heavy. A deep sultry beauty. One that is spicy and perfect for that night out. This works well in the winter, but I will test it during the heat to see how it does then as well. I love this fragrance & I feel the bottle is perfect as well. I just wish that the sillage was even stronger with this.

Intoxicating. More intense than Lost Cherry. More facets, more sour, more spicy, more earthy. Arabian saffron adds depth, darkness and the feel of most refined luxury. Easily can see it as unisex. Not your typical gourmand, I would classify it "sour" before "sweet" - in the most delicious way! So far, the most perfect cherry fragrance that I've tried. Gorgeous.

What a fantastic fragrance!♥️ I bought a sample, and I’m so happy I did! It’s powdery and sexy, definitely Signature scent worthy! And the longevity- I sprayed my chest ONCE and I could still smell it at the end of my 12 hour shift. Its beautiful fragrance kept wafting into my nose all day, I honestly can’t wait to get my hands on a full bottle!

I'm giving this one another chance, since I so badly want to find a signature "smutty" scent for those nights out. There's definitely something screechy about this that irritates my sniuses a bit, but it's also interesting and sexy. Like cherry flavored coca cola. "Cola" by Lana Del Rey in a perfume. ~ EDIT: I bought a FB. Lmao. 9/10

this is intoxicatingly sweet almonds with spiced dark chocolate, brown sugar peaches, and black cherries, don’t see the resemblance to TF Lost Cherry or Baccarat Rouge, just bc they share some of the same notes doesn’t reflect a similarity in scent at all, at least to my nose; this scent is its own beautiful blend!

Definitely a winter scent. It's sultry and appetizing, not funny, not too playful. It has teeth and can put you in your place if needed. It's mysterious and different, not your Angel, not your YSL Opium, that's heavy and obvious like a woman in a red skirt. This one has self-respect and chooses very carefully.

In our local store this one is quite popular: everybody loving this. I am more of a fresh greenish watery kinda person, but this marzipan almond cake did an impact on me too. If not the price tag i probably would be already through good half of the bottle...

The black cherry and saffron are very delicious. This is my first test from a sample and I really am enjoying it. I love the saffron and the dark cherry together. It’s an intoxicating scent. If you are a saffron lover, you should look at overture woman also

Maybe one of my best blind buys. I adore saffron in fragrances (Arabians Tonka, BR 540, CDN Untold etc) and omggggggggggg this delivers in spades and brings along this deep dark sensual cherry with it. I am so in love with this straight out of the box.

Worth all the hype. I don't like half the notes here, and even I am impressed and bought it. This is like a slutty cashmeresweater. It is provocative and comfortable at once. Like, you feel a little bit ashamed loving it and yet you are lost.

One my favorites! Performance and longevity are great, the scent lasts and is being noticed, but is still not too aggressive. The fragrance is not packed too densely, it’s a statement, but not a desperate and not a too loud one.

Love this more that Sirene although that one is beast mode and this lasts moderate time. Love the saffron and chocolate in this. So warm, sweet and cozy sexy. Perfect in winter or going out. Unisex leaning feminine.

“Obsessed” in this case, is truly an understatement. This smells like candied black cherries and the die-down layers creamy brown sugar on top. Oh and if that wasn’t enough to sell you on it, this lasts forever.

If someone is willing to sell this perfume pleaaasee message me, I absolutely love it. Its very sexy, bold and glamourous. For a real lady!! I tried it on my wrist and it lasted 6+ hours and after showering.

It’s dark, mysterious and intoxicating. One of my favorite perfumes in my collection. I wear this everytime I want to feel confident and powerful. The only cherry perfume I ever loved.

I smell cherry, cloves, almond, and saffron, for sure, but I also smell sandalwood. I like it, but the sandalwood is turning me off a bit.

This is beauty in black cherries. Stunning. I exclaimed upon first spray. Not worth £300 though.

Best cherry perfume I have tried yet. It does need some weeks to macerate for it to shine.

Duchessa is the fragrance of Persephone’s dark side, after she’s been in Hades for months. It’s a fruity perfume yes, but it’s not a fizzy light fruit for hot summer days. It’s a deep, dark, velvety fruit suited for the coldest and shortest days of winter. Each time I wear it I get something different from it during it’s beginning on my skin. Sometimes it’s been the almost 3d luscious cherry, other times chocolate orange or almond. It keeps it’s mystery. But what doesn’t change is the saffron, which to my nose is latexy and intense, bordering on repulsive. But that doesn’t necessarily put me off the perfume. Sometimes I think that one discordant note in a musical composition, one ugly color in a painting, is what makes it a masterpiece. I’m still trying to decide if Duchessa is a masterpiece for me or if the saffron is one step too far. All the fruits in this are supported by a base of leather and a powdery Iris that together feel very shadowy and lush and add to its feel of gothic density. This perfume lasts a long time on skin and has excellent sillage for at least the first few hours. It’s not for minimalists, it’s for anyone that likes some drama.

I’m generally not a cherry or almond fragrance lover. The chemical usually used to make both bothers me. I don’t know how, if they used a different chemical or what, but when I first sniffed this, expecting to be put off, I was pleasantly surprised. My first impression was that this actually smelled like black cherries, something I just don’t get from most fragrances labeled as such. This is a very heavy smelling fragrance that in my opinion would only be truly wearable in colder months. It also has a perfumey heaviness in assuming from the jasmine that makes this definitely not my favorite fruity fragrance. It is however the best cherry/almond fragrance I’ve tried so far. I personally don’t get the orange or chocolate here, it mostly smells like cherry and heavy spices to me.

For some reason, I compare all cherry scents to Lost Cherry, and yes, this is similar, but it is a much better adjusted version of it, with a more persistent and prominent cherry. The opening is cherry, yes, and nutty. The saffron is not very pronounced. Anyway, I think you know saffron well when it takes the lead, here it is the supporting actor. Warm spices also sing their song behind the scene. This fragrance is usually associated with a femme fatale vibe, but I don't think so. It's just a mature and fun feminine scent. The dominance of the sweet almond also gives it a good touch. Wearable, but not a wow. A perfect option for those who are not satisfied with the performance of LC by TF.
