Hysterica

Uhm Hmm - it's a YES for me! This has to be one of the most gorgeous and feminine fragrances that I own! Stunning, and intoxicating, yet still unique - I don't have anything that smells like this. The opening is honey, and even more honey (in fact, this honey made me think of JPG's Scandal By Night, but it is definitely a more intense honey than that); but there's this tropical/fruity-esque, bubble gummy, beautiful floral drizzle that creeps in w/in minutes. And I'm telling you, it is so beautiful... The fragrance wears on and I can still smell the opening, but PLUM w/ drops of liquor are there also, adding another lovely twist to this beautiful fragrance. And I say "drops of liquor," b/c to me it's only a hint of the liquor - there to simply supplement your fragrance bubble but not completely take it over; and it accomplishes just that! Around the 6-7hr mark, the one spray that I placed on my wrist to sample has dried down to still house this beautiful honey note, with some woods and light powder. Thoroughly enjoyed this!!

This has such mixed reviews I wanted to add my own. I received Hysterica in this mornings post. I adore it. Rich honey, juicy plum and a gorgeous tuberose. It's unashamedly sweet, pretty and strong! I have sprayed a couple of sprays without letting it settle down from being posted, let alone macerate. The first hour is intense but it's such a happy scent I don't mind. It is the colour pink in a bottle- exploding with femininity and joy. The dry down is so far even nicer. The vanilla, woods and gardenia come in and sit perfectly under the sugary top notes, opening up and rich, warm scent. I want to hug myself while I'm wearing it. This is a love for me! If you don't like tuberose/bubblegum than this is not for you. It's probably not blind buy safe (although I did), unless like me you love every note listed.

Don’t buy this if you’re not fabulous enough to pull it off hahaha! This is a bold scent that’s full of personality. I personally love abstractions in scents because I consider myself a creative and outspoken type and I love fashion and have a strong sense of personal style. This fragrance opens with a sharper synthetic sweetness that feels slightly musky, very sweet and powdery. After a few minutes on the skin it starts to settle into a powdery and spicy tuberose with a sweet honey liqueur and wood base sprinkled with a dusting of powdery pink bubblegum. It’s what I like to call a “chewy floral” it’s got bite and it’s bold,sexy and intriguing. If you don’t want to smell like you own the room- then skip this one!

I get mostly plum, liquor and honey, it's very pretty and boozy and sort of quirky, too, but it doesn't last as long as the other Gritti perfumes I have. I still love it though, and not every perfume needs to be beast mode. Unfortunately I smell none of the bubble gum myself. It projects moderately for a couple of hours and then fades to a skin scent. The bottle is gorgeous. Edit: I have to edit my earlier review, now a year later this perfume is STRONG. With 2 sprays you definitely feel it all around you, 3 sprays is too much. I have noticed Gritti perfumes among others become stronger with time.

I became obsessed with Duchessa earlier this winter. (My first Gritti perfume purchase.) I am not typically one for a bubble gum tuberose note, yet Hysterica has me hooked! I heard/read/saw someone call it a "Mad Hatter" fragrance. It is definitely that! It starts off a bit unusual, then it gets stranger and stranger and unlike anything I've ever smelled. By the dry down, it has me all in. This is definitely not for everyone, yet it seems to have me in its clutches. I cannot get enough of this delicious juice, and will for sure be buying a full bottle.

I got a sample and did a single spray on my arm. Hours later I was shopping and kept smelling something beautiful and realized it was this fragrance wafting through my shirt AND jacket. When smelling it up close, I get a very indolic honeyed white floral, as well as the plum and booze. The sillage is where it's at with this fragrance (similar to how Guidance smells odd up close but creates a beautiful scent cloud). Bought a bottle at discount (it's a bit overpriced) and have not regretted it.

The fact that no one has mentioned the animalic funk this beautiful fragrance sits on is baffling. Is it just me 😵💫🥴🫩??? This fragrance would be a love if it weren't for that skank. Update 1/31/2026: So I'm finally realizing that honey is winter note (duh 🤦🏾♀️!). This plays very nicely in the cold and the animalic skat note cannot be detected no matter how much I spray. I'm so glad I get to enjoy this they way that others seem to.. I was convinced this was an epic BB fail!

Honey and spice and everything nice. Absolutely adore this. Perfect for fall and winter. I.get sweet spicy honey with a hint of floral. 10/10 for me.

I really like this fragrance a lot. The honey is strong, but so is that sugary bubble gum note. They compete into making this a really unique scent — almost incense-y. I don’t get any other note besides the plum and vanilla. Oh! It’s a beast fragrance. One spray on my hand had my husband asking if I was burning incense upstairs (he usually can’t smell shit). Beastly fragrance, I tell you.

You have to give this one a few minutes to settle on skin. After first, I did not like the smell of this at all, but now I primarily smell honey and plum (I think that's what I'm smelling). I think this one is intriguing and pretty unique. I can see why the votes "love" vs. "hate" appear to be pretty evenly distributed. I'm ultimately voting this one just a "like".

Sweet, fruity, musk. Nice. I am not one to say who should or should not wear a fragrance but this feels very young woman to me. Quite frankly I smell this and I immediately associate it with a bumpin sorority party. The Ohio State University circa 1993. Pretty but a little stinky from a night of partying. The male counterpoint to this is 1740 lol.

This would be pretty for spring, the bubblegum isn’t in your face but you can get a bit of it in the background. Honey is more prominent than I expected along with the white florals. Very feminine & youthful but not childish.

Hysterica is very honey dominant fragrance. The honey combined with tuberose does create a very bubble gum like smell. So if that’s your jam then this is a good one to test. However, this is not my cup of tea and I do not think that this is blind buy safe fragrance. The performance is surprisingly pretty good. On my very cool skin I get 3-4 hours of moderate projection and I do find this working really well in cold, windy outdoor air. To my nose this is feminine fragrance that can get a bit cloying after a while. I won’t be getting a full bottle of this, but to those who want to smell like bubble gum with honey this is a must try.

I can’t put an answer for “when to wear” it because “never” isn’t an option... I got an incredible deal for this one and I just as quickly sold it to someone just under what I paid for it... I never pack up what I sell in advance of the sale (in case I change my mind before it’s purchased)... but in this case: I took the pictures and packed it tightly like I was scared that if it were free someway somehow it would get sprayed and haunt my existence... idk what it is in the notes or if it is the combination of notes... but this is olfactory assault and battery... kill it with fire!

This perfume is a disaster....there is ZERO sweetness. All I get is pepper and heavy tuberose/white florals. If you're expecting bubblegum, it's NOT there. No honey, bubblegum, or any sweetness. It's a pepper-floral bomb. Glad I received a free sample. Not a safe blind buy, especially for the price point of 400USD!! I am new to discovering scents from Gritti. I have only tried Gossip Night and this one. I really liked Gossip Night, and plan to buy a full bottle eventually. I have some more samples coming from Gritti (and I hope I'm not disappointed!)

This is unfortunately not for my skin composition. I hardly get any bubblegum at all and the honey reminds me of toilet/urine/body odor smell. It's very pungent and has insane projection and can still be smelled on my wrist after washing it so for anyone who has a good experience with the scent, I can definitely speak for the projection and longevity.

Oh my goodness! This one is a scrubber. All I’m getting is honey and my skin reacts horribly to honey perfumes. I had to check my home office garbage can because I couldn’t quite believe that what I was smelling I had actually put on my body!! No bubblegum whatsoever. This perfume is beast mode. Thank goodness I only purchased a five ml

This is a BIG no for me. Simply no, not at all! ALL I get is bubblegum immediately. In the most rancid smelling way. Even if it gets better later- who wants to stink first? I tried, but it's a definite no. IT literally made me nauseous

Love at first sniff! This is a more unique fragrance in that nothing I've smelled is that close of a comparison. So none of the "Reminds Me Of" section really compares. I would say I am getting something more akin to a marriage of Bubble Forever by MONTALE + Ruby Red by THOO. But not exactly that either. This smells like it has a ginger type of spice in it, versus the white pepper listed above. It's a more subdued spice note but present throughout the wear. I really think this fragrance is special. A lightly-spiced sweetened tuberose+gardenia. All of the notes make sense when I look at them but they all come together as a symphony rather than hearing each note separately or any 1 single note sticking out a ton more than the rest. Smells like a good niche fragrance. Not necessarily a gourmandy bubble gum but there is a touch of that in there too. If you enjoy Ruby Red or Rouge Malachite types then give this a try. Very comforting, great for cooler weather.

I was excited to try Hysterica. I was intrigued by the notes and the vibrant bottle. I heard good things about it from reviews online, so I bought a sample. I mostly got plum and bubblegum in the beginning and then some strong / screechy indistinct white florals came through. Unfortunately, both in the bottle and on my skin, there is something strange in this that is reminiscent of foul body odor or a dirty public restroom. At first it was just in the background, but it quickly overpowered the other notes as it dried down. This was a scrubber for me, but it seemed to have a soft to moderate projection while I was wearing it (probably depending on how much you apply). I wore it for about 4 hours before washing it off and it was definitely still noticeable by that point. It actually still slightly lingered after the first attempt to scrub it off, so it seems to have pretty good longevity.
