Mango Aoud

Based on the hype this scent had for the last two years, I was certainly expecting more! I might have unreasonably high expectations but Mango Aoud is not impressing me with the performance. Knowing that it’s a mango centric scent, with oud, amber and vanilla in the base, I wanted it to be a beastly fragrance. Strong, highly projecting and super long lasting. Which at least on skin, it’s not! I haven’t tried it on clothing yet but will update here when that happens... Scent wise is beautiful. It’s a complex tropical fruity concoction consisting of mangoes, guavas, coconuts and something apricoty. What I get as apricots could be very well the osmanthus flower from the heart notes. As far as ylang ylang goes, I don’t get this gorgeous flower in Mango Aoud. The flowers are mainly supporting notes for the exotic fruits and the base notes. Overall, I find Mango Aoud overpriced and overhyped. I love how it smells, don’t get me wrong here, it’s a great scent that has the note of mango masterfully done, but there’s no oud in this scent. It’s certainly a very long lasting scent even on skin but it doesn’t project heavily, so to sum it up, I am very pleased that I got it during a sale, for a discontinued price. Paying FRP for this would seriously make me regret buying it! It’s a safe blind perfume buy if you’re into a warm, amber, vanilic mango/guava dominant perfume. Don’t get scared because it says it contains oud, it’s not dominant in here! Don’t get Mango Aoud expecting a proper beast scent like I did, you’ll probably be partially disappointed. The packaging of Gritti fragrances is another aspect that stands out, as it is beautifully crafted and exudes luxury. Striking bottle with heavy golden cap. Sturdy, black, basic box with a coloured cardboard sleeve matching with the bottle colouring. I would give this scent a 8.5/10 overall.

♡ ♡ ♡ Mmm... this is so good. ♡ ♡ ♡ Right from the start I get a beautiful guava, which I absolutely love. A few minutes later the mango starts to come through together with the neroli. To me it feels more like a creamy tropical fruit blend than a straight mango fragrance. As it settles, the oud slowly starts to appear, but it doesn't take over. It adds a soft woody, earthy warmth that works surprisingly well with the fruit. I also get something creamy that I think might be the osmanthus or maybe the coconut milk. It's hard to describe because everything blends together so naturally. It's creamy, warm, fresh and calming at the same time. So far I wouldn't even call this a mango fragrance. It's more of a tropical fruity oud with mango as part of the picture rather than the main focus. I'm really impressed so far. This could easily become one of my favorite oud fragrances because it feels so easy to wear. ♡

I have Because I am Free from Gritti already and I developed a serious obsession with Mango Aoud before even smelling it. The bottle is absolutely gorgeous. I waited so long to get my hands on this perfume and when I finally found it, blind purchased a full bottle. And it did not disappoint! On my skin this is a fresh, juicy mango with a hint of oud making it interesting. I sprayed only one spray and it seems to be strong. In the dry down the flowers do come out a bit more but mostly it is mango and oud. It is a love from me. Edit: one spray lasted on my arm through the entire day, a kickboxing class and a shower, so it is very potent.

An enjoyable latonic fruity mango. It smells fresh and gives an airy vibe. Almost like clean laundry hanging on a clothesline in the sunshine. I get a bit of oud if I put my nose to my wrist but nothing barnyardy. Creamy mango and a milky smooth coconut. Peekaboo peach like notes with a tad sniff of ylang ylang. You can tell it's a Gritti fragrance. Their signature DNA is present in Tutu also. A really easy wear for sunshiney days. As another stated, go easy on the trigger it could become cloying if overdone but with a light spritz this envelopes you in a close scent bubble that radiates within arms length for at least 6 to 8 hrs.

The tropical fruity notes don't last very long at all--but they are delicious while present! I likely would not have distinguished mango if mango wasn't in the name. It just smells generically tropical to me. I was expecting a lot more oud! It's definitely there, but I didn't feel like it was overpowering or too much, like some ouds can be. The yellow florals become more prominent after the initial fruity notes disappear. The oud remains throughout and is the longest lasting note. The subtle amber in the background makes me think of this as more of a date night perfume. Overall I really liked this and would consider purchasing it.

I want to start by saying this fragrance is nothing like the mango in God of Fire. This one is more ripe, almost overly ripe. Upon first spray, you instantly pick up that mango with the florals in the background. On my skin, I don’t really get the oud at first, but maybe it becomes more prominent after it dries down. To me, this is almost sticky-smelling and not very fresh, so I would not wear this on an extremely hot day. I blind-bought this, so I’m not disappointed. Update: After an hour on skin, the mango fades into a sweet floral with a hint of oud. Still worth it in my opinion. I rate it ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ (5/5).

Awesome perfume. Xerjoff Cruz Del Sur II was the go to gourmand realistic perfume for Mango. Intoxicating and exceptional in performance only became an eBay item when my tolerance for overly sweet perfumes started to fray. This comfortably replaces this with a better slightly less sweet slightly darker and fleshy mango. The oud is misleading as in reality it is not prominent per se and really there to add some depth and darkness. Performance is comparable but indeed for the price is actually better value. A number of Gritti samples have stirred me and found me placing them on my radar big time!

Tropical soapy and fresh but also dark and creamy this is good asf. I get more guava in the opening but as it dries the mango comes out more and the oud really does just add depth and a little darkness but it’s still very fruity, and the performance is great I could smell it on my skin no joke about 15 hours after spraying i’m sure it varies person to person but that’s how it did for me. And this was a blind buy and i’m very happy with it but I wouldn’t call it blind buy safe 9.1/10 absolute gas

Well at first I was hmmm, does this go......yes it does. I am loving this fruity Oud fragrance, It will be my spring go to. As for lasting this has amazing super power on my skin! I am loving the fruitiness which leans more mature and very sexy for summer. I am so happy I purchased this. the oud smooths out in the dry down and the mango comes to the front, guys this is special. A must buy for the summer. This is a 10/10 such a beautiful fruity spring summer fragrance!

I love Mango Aoud! At first i just liked it a fair bit, but with each wearing i started to like it even better and better, now i love it and it his one of my favorites! It has a great creamy mango note, that just reminds me of a tropical summer. The Oud is in the background and helps with the depth and longevity, it gives it some unique character.

It's an extra juicy overripe mango on the verge of going bad any day, and it's sooo delicious and sexy. The longevity is really good (probably because of the oud) and projects well. The oud is there but not dirty smelling at all though. I ordered a bottle today and cannot wait to wear this in the summer evenings.

A really nice soft creamy and riped mango smell! Can't really notice the oud much but this smell is really enticing if you're in to super fruity fragrances. I would put this in the same category as fragrances like Erba Pura even though I feel this one smells much better.

If you want a strong mango scent then this isnt it as it dries down to a coconut sunscrean style fragrance in about 30 mins. Thats not saying this is bad at all, i actually quite like it, but if you want mango get GoF.

This is my best purchase of the year. Such a summery scent, it opens up with mango and later it turns into more woody and warm. Definitely will repurchase!

One of the best mango fragrances out there! If you don't like citrus/fruity fragrances though, this definitely isn't for you..

Fresh, soapy and fruity. Not sweet at all.

Today, I am wearing a sample of Mango Aoud from the house of Gritti. The notes are Mango, Guava and Neroli; middle notes are Coconut Milk, Ylang Ylang and Osmanthus; base notes are Oud, Vanilla and Amber. Now, first thing first. Yes, it smells good. It’s a very prominent juice and ripe mango. I may get a touch of the Guava, but I am not picking up the coconut milk at all nor the florals. I think Luca went very heavy handed on the Mango in this fragrance. Also, this is a first time wearing and I am mainly in doors today, but I do have a feeling that it would do a lot better outside in the heat of the day. The base of Oud, Vanilla and Amber are also prominent, and they come to the forefront after the first couple of hours, and that base is nice, dark and resinous. There is a down side to this one, Longevity and Silage. I am only getting around six hours on skin, and at the six hour mark it’s a skin scent. Situational wear would definitely be absolutely fine for a date in both the day time and evening. I think that it’ll do well in the higher heat, but I have yet to test that. It will be absolutely fine for the more intimate times with your significant other in romantic situations as it is not a beast mode type performer and it still lingers on the skin. Value, I kind of think that it is overpriced at retail based on the performance on my first wear, however finding on sale or at discounters in and around the $100 – $130 price range would make picking it up easy. Again, keep in mind this is my opinion based upon a first time wear, and I will test it further.

I have Gritti's Rialto and was curious when this came out since Rialto is also a mango/oud mix. I just got Mango Aoud today and so far I feel the difference is, this is way more oud smelling than Rialto. The two side by side... Rialto smells sweet, which Rialto is not a typical sweet fragrance. In MA, the sharpness of the mango almost makes this lean into household cleaner vibes, but then it calms down due to the heavy presence of the oud. It's a def olfactory experience. You def have to appreciate oud because it's very present, almost bordering MFKs Satin Mood vibes with the oud-iines...which with Rialto, the oud yet present, sits back and the mango comes more forward. Also, with Rialto, the mango note would be comparable to Mango Skin. All the other notes...coconut milk, ylang ylang, etc....are in the background. This is very niche....heavy...strong sillage...not sure where it would be best worn. Probably best worn outdoors so it can air out. This is very unisex...to me it almost leans masculine. I do like it, but it made me appreciate Rialto more.

I'm surprised how different this is on me compared to what some of the previous reviewers have described. This is not light, airy or soapy at all. It's a rich scent of overripe, slightly boozy mangoes and dirty oud. I can see this getting extremely cloying in summer, but would be great in spring or early fall. It's not too linear - I can smell the hint of guava in the fruity part, and the floral addition makes it more wearable. But it's heavy and oud-y for sure - definitely not recommended if you're sensitive to the "weird" aspects of oud. Personally - I really like it. It's very unique compared to the vast majority of fruity scents, and I find it to be the perfect "transition" fragrance as I start to incorporate a bigger variety of scents into my rather monotonous spicy-amber-vanilla wardrobe. Lasts for a good portion of the day on me, and leaves a distinct trail.

This is a very strong perfume. You will smell it for a very long time, even after you shower, it will be on your skin. Everyone around you will smell it. More than two sprays will make you a chemical terrorist. The most telling moment is that in the room where I sit there is an air monitor, it usually does not exceed 1000 ppm, but on the day when I came with this perfume it went off the scale above 1900 and continued to rise.This perfume is definitely not for discreet places.

This is a really nice soft/creamy mango and guava as the notes suggest, with a sliiiiightly barely there Oud that's not too funky but gives the scent a bit of an edge. It's an easy and enjoyable wear for me but I have found less is more; when I've been trigger happy and sprayed too much it's given me a headache. But go lightly and it's a super enjoyable wear! Not sure how people aren't getting performance on this. 3 sprays today and it's going strong several hours in so far.

Punchy & bright mango fragrance with an oud base that lends more to its density than actual smell (no funk except in the very beginning if you get really close to the skin). I was actually hoping for more of an oud combo, or at least above-average longevity. Dries down to a light woody scent after 4 hours. Smells very nice, fresh and fruity, but expected more for the price.

A deeper mango scent. Doesn't smell too artificial, it's quite juicy and for a fragrance with oud I would say it is very wearable for summer. I wouldn't compare it to other popular mango scents. Very creamy once it dries down.

the most juicy sweet mango opening ever. almost get a honey vibe to it, but then it driesdown to a strong floral... its nice but i would prefer if it stayed like the beggining.

Personal: 5.5/10 - It's unique and tropical, but there are undertones I don't enjoy. Mass appeal: 6/10 - Mango is juicy and likable, but the oud makes it divisive. Performance: 8/10 - Strong longevity and projection. Value: 5/10 - It's expensive, and although it's creative, it doesn't earn its price tag. Uniqueness: 9/10 - There aren't many tropical oud perfumes, and none quite like this one. SCORE: 67/100 Full bottle buy? NO, it's too weird. Blind buy? NO, tropical fruit and oud is remarkably polarizing. Recommend? YES, if you want something dark, fruity, and different. Date night? NO, it's a bit too strange to come across as alluring. Office safe? NO, mango and oud would turn heads, and not in a good way. Pros: Very unique, mango aside, it's actually quite deep and resinous. Cons: Very polarizing, a bit weird, and pricey for something 'fun'. The opening of this fragrance hits you with a blast of mango, vanilla, and dark animalic oud. It's not the smooth, approachable oud you may be familiar with. It smells dark and barnyard-ey. It gives the mango a slightly rancid note that, though not the loudest, is present enough that I don't enjoy smelling this fragrance. It absolutely wins points for uniqueness, as mango paired with the dark overtones of oud is something I've never quite smelled before. I don't know that this fragrance even paints enough of a picture for me to call it 'olfactory art'. It's more, just, okay. I don't think anyone NEEDS a sample of it, but it's definitely an experience if you buy one. A tropical-oud curiosity. It's okay, I guess. I was very excited to get my hands on this recent release as I am a fan of oud and fruit combinations, but sadly this didn’t hit the mark for me. Scent is very subjective so I am sure someone will love it, but to me the mango and coconut come across like mango body butter cream. I can practically picture the tub when I smell this and that gives a cheap rather than refined connection I can’t shake. The notes are accurate definitely mango, coconut milk and yellow florals. No guava though. The oud lends a nice very slight funk to the sweet base. It smells nicer in the air than right off my wrist. Lasts but I don’t find it projects massively. I think a more zesty mango might work better. The 5ml decant will be it for me, no full bottle. Will update if my opinion changes with subsequent wear. Edit: I did enjoy it a little more later on with more wear and it does last a long time. Better if I spray the back of my body to get indirect wiffs.

Opening was fairly promising with a punchy mango and juicy guava combo. I get no florals at all in this scent, as in the heart it’s just a fresh coconut smell with remnants of that mango and guava. The scent ofc ventures in the oud territory in the dry down but it smells nothing like it, just smells like an unintelligible smoky wood smell that’s very faint and very powdery, but not so much “oud-like”. You do get hints of warm sweetness from the combo of amber and vanilla but there’s absolutely no mango in the dry down so it really just becomes a dry, woody, slightly sweet smell. This scent isn’t bad just...not very good

This smells like Tiziana Terenzi Kirke to my nose with added Oud in the mid. I had recently realized I loved mango in Perfumes after trying Paco Rabanne Fame Parfum but the mango in Mango Aoud is completely different. If you like Kirke and wished for something deeper and darker along with your Kirke I think Mango Aoud is what you need!

Hmmmmmm im slightly torn about this scent. The initial spray down came off kind of plasticky/artificial fruit but it does dry down to a much fuller juicy mango. As others have already said I really dont get much woody notes. I do like how it develops, It does however remind me exactly of those garnier hair food conditioner tubs

I can't find myself to enjoy this at all. It gives me a headache every time I try to wear it. It must be that neroli note, which I typically don't get along with. Otherwise all the other notes sound good in theory, but for me the neroli, and perhaps guava too, take over everything.

This is... ok, not oudy to my nose which is what brought me here. But nothing intriguing enough to have me sticking around. Very fruity, floral feminine leaning fragrance that fake ambery oud feel on the dry down. Its cool, just not for me

Oh my god this is such a frustrating fragrance! On me it starts in an almost rotten mango accord, way over the top sweet. Two hours later I finally get the beautiful, charming, soft, oud. Very poorly done and so disappointing!

I totally don't get the hype for this one. The oud is so overpowering that you smell the mango and other notes just for 5 minutes in the beginning. I was expecting something a lot more tropical and interesting ... Such a disappointment.

Oh no! Very sweet delicious mango with scanky oud (sometimes fecal). I do love oud but this is a bit too weird for me. I thought I’ll love it but I don’t think I want to smell like that, I would recommend Carioca Heart instead.

I really thought I would love this. I love a fruity Oud like Nomad from Bond no 9 or God of Fire. But this smells like kitty litter. No other way to put it. Total let down

Solid opening with guava & mango at the forefront. As the fragrance begins to dry down however, I began to get a ‘lipstick/cosmetic counter accord’.

Typical synthetic overpriced fruity “oud”. Part of the free bottle brigade, of course. This is very simple. Mango and fake Oud. That’s it.

I love mango note 🥭 in here it is overpowered by skanky oud. I still quite like it, but struggle to wear it as it can be quite offensive.

It is a very synthetical, plastic smelling mango/fruity smell, not enjoyable. 3/10

The first 20 minutes after applying this fragrance are sensational - a perfect imitation of a juicy mango. As it begins to dry, it shifts into that synthetic mango smell that cheap candy has, before eventually smelling like the worst God of Fire dupe you could possibly imagine.
