Tangerina

A hidden gem! I sampled a lot of citruses this summer and this has been one of my favorites. It does have a juicy, citrus pith opening that some people will associate with cleaning products. But after about 5-10 minutes it settles into a beautiful, slightly aquatic citrus floral. It gives me the feeling of peeling a tangerine on a patio next to the ocean, surrounded by white flowers. Coriander in this extends the citrus quality into the mid and dry down. The jasmine is soft, not overbearing. The dry down is slightly sweet from the caramel but it doesn’t stick out; I wouldn’t even know that caramel was a note without looking it up. I prefer ultra feminine scents and often find that citrus dries down masculine on me. This is an incredibly feminine citrus and one of the best scents from Gritti.

I have tested many perfumes from Gritti, and loved none of them. With that said, Tangerina is definitely one of the better ones I’ve come across. Perhaps that’s due to its simplicity, can it really be so hard to go wrong with such a tried and true scent profile? Bright, sugary oranges fill the air, intensely sweet and fizzy like orange flavoured sherbet. Initially there is not much development, however it does begin to soften, losing most of the candied effect, replacing it with a refreshing watery-ness with just a hint of ginger. Overall a really nice and simple perfume for the warmer weather. It’s not complex or particularly creative, neither is it something that will wow you. It smells good, refreshes the mind and there’s nothing wrong with that.

I like this sort of eau de cologne-inspired perfume. The general feel is fresh juicy citrus with a floral heart. The musk is of the clean variety and has a breezy feel to it, very lasting. I'm reminded of Bottega Ventta's Knot, or similar floral/citrus fresh scents, though this is more unisex. I'm glad the caramel doesn't make too much of an appearance since it would fight with the citrus for me. Nice, very fresh, great for an uplifting mood in warm weather.

I like how spiky, fresh and citrusy it is. Creates energetic playful mood. Makes you feel good and confident about yourself

Oily musky citron. This is a thick oily citrus blend with musk, jasmines, & ginger. It has that thick oily texture (virtually) that makes this blend quite strong. It has slight coriander. The curiosity behind wanting to sniff this blend was their description on their website when they wrote: "The essence of ginger fresh blends with the intense aroma of jasmin and coriander, finishing with an enveloping base with a light touch of caramel and sensual notes of musk", I neither sense any caramel at the base nor any sensuality! It's like the sense & the texture of the oily based suntan only and not the smell, it's kind of amusing.

Sweet oranges, tangerine juice, some clean musk. Linear, simple. It doesn't smell too artificial... It is ok.
