Floral Veil

This is one of the most fabulous, straightforward florals i've tried. Influential and care-free. Reminds me when I was about age 8, playing outside in the grass on an excellent, sunny day where the air was not hot or cold, but just right, and the breeze was clean, and you'd get a lens flare sort of view as you turned your gaze to the sky. If this scent was a color, it would be a deep, bright, sky blue. This is predominantly a spring scent, and it exudes new beginnings. . but it would smell great in any season. For the notes, I mostly just get straight up tuberose. The hints of the other notes are quiet behind the tuberose not easy for me to detect. The silage is moderate, but when picked up by a little gust of air, someone could get a good impression of it. Long lasting- soft-moderate silage. 9.5/10

Floral Veil is a modern offering from Grossmith, a British heritage fragrance house that is known for their recent revival of three original perfumes dating from over 100 years ago. It is a tuberose-led white floral scent, feminine in the classic sense and wonderfully opulent. Given the romantic name name and white floral palette, it is a typical bridal scent, but would be enjoyed by any tuberose fan. Bright and juicy up top, giving way to a rich, slightly spicy bouquet, it is nothing unusual, but is very decent overall. FV opens with juicy citrus notes and a nice cordial-like blackcurrant note, fresh and bright. The tuberose follows, lush but green, quite lily-like. It is more clean than carnal here, complemented beautifully by smooth, sweet ylang ylang. Heady and realistic, the white florals manage to not be cloying. The greenness in the background remains, keeping things fresh, enhanced by a peppery geranium note that smells freshly-cut. After a little while, a nice powdery rose note comes to fore, rounding out the bouquet. It is rich and slightly jammy, petal-like and realistic. FV is at its sweetest here. It becomes musky as it fades, with a hint of sweet amber adding warmth to the drydown. The remnants of the florals remain until final fade. Sillage and longevity are moderate - the performance is a little less good than I expected, given the scent profile and price point. A timeless, feminine floral bouquet for spring/summer, this is aptly named. Classical in style, it is nothing unusual, but is very good-quality and nicely put-together. It doesn't wow me like other Grossmith creations, but FV is still decent, if overpriced for what it is. Still, a good traditional floral option for those who dislike aldehydes. 3.5/5.

8/10. This is so far the most feminine of the Grossmith perfumes I have tried. I always enjoy Grossmith perfumes for their high quality and innovative and unique approaches. This one has sweetness and parsley at first. Then luscious floral. Tulip, peony, spicy carnation/geranium. After one hour it calms down a bit, but still a little high pitched. Turns a little sour and slightly bitter over time but the floral high notes still surpass this and too intense/bold for me. Would like to add a beautiful Grossmith perfume to my collection but still searching for the right one.

Try before buying. On me its a cilantro/coriander veil in the first 20 minutes and very dominant. Grossmith is wonderful and a spectacular perfume line. Just this is a matter of experience . Quality top. New t ever pretty dress may suit every lovely lady and not every spectacular parfum works with every chemistry. But regards to Grossmith I am in love with the line.
