King's Salute

Creed Aventus in fougere version. I love the combination between peppery citrusy fruity freshness and the sweetness from elimi in the opening The rest are classic aromatic fougere structure, lavender, spices and oakmoss. If you mix Creed Aventus with Eau savuage and sweeten it up with elimi you may get King's Salute. Really love it. Good performance though. ❤️

Let me preface this by saying that I’m a huge fan of this house. The trilogy of Hasu no Hana, Phul Nana and Shem are, in my opinion, among the finest perfumes I’ve ever experienced. So, naturally my expectations for this were enormous. Maybe that’s the problem. And if so, I guess that’s on me. But I couldn’t shake the feeling that this was just a little underwhelming. My first impression was, “Okay, cool... a mild-mannered barbershop.” And, for the most part, that’s where it starts and finishes. That said, the late drydown is considerably better than the somewhat underwhelming opening. The cashmeran and amber doing the heavy lifting here, giving it a little lift that I thoroughly enjoyed. It’s also very durable for the style, having survived a full day of mowing lawns and chopping firewood without ever really disappearing. It’s certainly not a bad perfume. Far from it. But it had some extraordinarily big shoes to fill, and unfortunately, for me, it never quite managed to step into them.

I have sniffed it before but i didn't want to review it cause i thought i was mistaken... All i can say is that i am quite disappointed with what I've sniffed! i mean after "Diamond Jubilee", "Betrothal", we get this!! (despite that Betrothal was found decades ago, but "Diamond Jubilee" is a perfectly new creation to compare).. This is very common 30s English splash barber fragrances with carnations, lavender, bergamot, musk, elemi, and more lavender.... it is very basic for Grossmith! It's nice but it's most likely should be a side project not a major release,,, AND SOLO! I'm sorry, but no... it should be at least a trilogy while this can be pushed in the middle of 2 other releases so other stronger blends can cover it or at least rise it abit.
