A Gloaming Night

I tried nearly every fragrance from the Alchemist line and found some of them very average, and massively overpriced. I never got to try Gloaming Night because it was always sold out until today; and now I understand why it's popular and sold out. Gloaming Night was love at first smell, and the best from the alchemist line. I'm very picky about cinnamon and because of that, I've never bought one... until now. This fragrance is an excellent cinnamon. Spicy but not overpowering cinnamon and patchouli. Smells expensive, luxurious, and classy. It's simple, and I wish it was a little more complex, but succeeds in what it is. Gucci finally hit a home run with this one. Bottom Line: Best from the alchemist line IMO. Voice of the snake is good if you're not already familiar with that DNA (it is done better elsewhere) last day of summer is great option but hard to find,and Eyes of the Tiger is amazing amber tonka. This is simple, but it's great at what it does. Scent: 8.8/10 Performance: 6.5/10 Edit: Hortus Sanitatis is now my favorite from the alchemist line. Unfortunately, you can only find it at select boutiques and online for a price that will make your heart stop

This one is outstanding, and everything I "hoped" The Last Day of Summer would be when I purchased them together. With a large collection I grow tired of the typical floral/sweet/gourmand/woody tones that I consider safe and mass appealing. I'm always on the lookout for something unique that will stand out and give me a moments pause when I apply. I will admit this and others like that will not be everyone's cup of tea, but for ME it's more about the experience and having gentle reminders throughout the day that what I'm wearing isn't like anything else I can smell on others around me. This is an Oriental base with just the right amount of sweetness. For what it's worth I feel this bares no resemblance to Gris Dior which is another favorite of mine.

Love this one. Wonderful balance of earthiness and sweetness from the patchouli. I don't really pick up on the cinnamon, so I think it's sort of blending into things. There is something special here and it's a sort of unidentifiable, high-quality scent for me (which I think it patchouli being used strategically, which is not always the case). Not especially great longevity and sillage is mostly intimate. Very unisex, even for people who might be more traditional. I would recommend checking this one out if you have an opportunity.

Such a great perfume. I can smell each note, but the cinnamon ties everything together in this kind of earthy, kind of sweet mix that really is something so unique and special. I just used up the last of my small decant of this, but I’m currently sitting, sniffing myself, enjoying this last hurrah of A Gloaming Night because I’ll probably never get a chance to smell it again. Completely unisex, moderate longevity and sillage. Very worth getting your nose on.

alberto morillos comes thru again. i like a lot of his frags. they have a magical depth to them that comes out in his spicy, woody, incense gucci alchemist series. altho i am, surprised how many other frag he masterminded under different labels including my favorite eau cartier. unfortunately it doesn't last so its relegated to bedtime so at least i can enjoy it for awhile

I love it so so so so so so much Very unique... this feels natural, greenary, bitter... somehow it feels like I am being a lonely sexy woman in the woods. . .under the gloaming moonlight?? Highly recommended.... Yesterday my boyfriend was wearing it and was also great.. it's unisex fragrance. .. I felt so horny when I was hugging him ...the perfume...so good....

This fragrance is absolutely stunning! It's warm and spicy with a hint of sweetness, perfect for a cool evening. The cinnamon note is prominent at first but settles beautifully into the woody vetiver and patchouli base. It's long-lasting and I get compliments every time I wear it.

I can understand the comparison with The Noir 29, they are not exactly the same and you can definitely tell them apart. A Gloaming Night is a more brighter version of The Noir 29. Good quality ingredients and good longevity as it should be considering the high price.

Tried this at the local store. Love it. It’s sweeter than expected and that’s good. Can’t stand vetiver being too dry. Easy to wear. Should be able to layer with leather nicely. Love the red bottle.

Patchouli and an earthy soapy rose, the earthiness makes this fragrance this fragrance lean masculine. Very nice, definitely high quality.

I get patchouli, rose, and a very clean soapy vibe (upscale, dry and clean linen, freshly pressed with steam lifting from it). They backed the otherwise harsh woody chemicals (vetiver, etc.) with fresh chemicals, making it wearable even in an office, I would think. Still, it has this kind of faint vinegar smell which I don't necessarily like, and at the price point I would never buy it. That vinegary smell comes from lily of the valley aroma chemicals, I think and it does actually taper down in 10 - 15 minutes.

I like this fragrance. It kind of reminds me of Green Walk by The Woods Collection in that it has a Terre De Hermes clove opening (despite this not being in the notes) but I suspect the cinnamon and vetiver combination is very close to that. It dries down into an incense and patchouli skin scent that sticks around for a good long while. It is not terribly unique and definitely overpriced at retail BUT, at a discount, this is a good pick up.

Just barely makes grade. Another semi-charming, earthy blend. Somewhat remiscent of ATH'S Homme or House of Sillage's Dignified. But lighter, more subtle and frankly better, and more refined. That said, this scent profile is more glooming than gloaming. Starts bland and goes nowhere fast. Another from the series that's more collectible than wearable.

Beautiful cinnamon and patch combo a little slick and spicy reminds me of autumn 🍂 and evening outdoors with freshly chopped wood sitting next to a burning campfire hot cinnamon tea in hand burning light herbs in my incense burner mmm mm...

very unique smell, i can't tell if i like it or not. perfect for an overcast cold fall day tho. smells very wet forest/swamp-like....i imagine this is what an ogre would smell like. drydown is veryyyy nice

Awful. Nothing like the description or the notes. I do get patch, but also rose? Somehow manages to be screechy and harsh while still sitting close to the skin.

Epic home bringer that Gloaming Night, should've started the Alchemist's Garden with this. Perfect craft, not sure how excitement and nostalgia can coexist so well like that, with the charm and style to it. It's a movie. Get the mature snug, not too much going on as far as multidirectional, got the rare standout, dense and solid. Opens up dark brown earthy, actually bit fresh fruity too, two days in don't get the Cinnamon yet, immediately Patchouli starts unfolding upon the bitter opening with sheer omnitemporal class, this was elegant in ancient times as well as having futuristicals to it in the present. All purpose, shut pretty much any scenario down with this because it will as well appeal to mass. Stunned by and very pleased with the blind purchase.

Reminds me a lot of noir 29 and gris dior. I also get brioni intense. Since I enjoy these fragrances quite a bit, I thought it was safe to blind buy, and I was right. I think this is like an earthy noir 29, but I don't exactly smell the earthy notes unless I come up close and take a sniff on my arm. But overall, I think it's pretty great. Kind of feels like I'm walking through a calm dimly lit street somewhere all alone. But not in a creepy, scary kind of setting, just serene and peaceful.

Cinnamon and Patchouli pretty much spice accord toned down by the -3°C, 26°F impact, hefty applied on exposed skin. Keeps the signature scent accord overall tight, warms up the Vetiver a bit and looses out on the opening harsh density. It's pretty much perfect for that cold cold, the like fun - nostalgia fits winter scenario alltogether just right. Always a treat that Gloaming NIght, amazing mid and get the real cozy neat dry down.

This scent is a hot patchouli bitter sweet experience. The cinnamon and vetiver are mixed with other dry wet/minty dirt notes, it feels very bizarre. At some point it reminds me of some herbal tea. I guess that it can be great on some people but I don't enjoy it. It feels a little half done, like a chemistry experiment that has an specific herbal odor...

Similar to Gris Dior in the sense that it’s a patchouli-forward chypre that is very unisex. I always thought Gris Dior smelled like a women’s beauty department of a high end department store, but this Gucci definitely does not smell as feminine as the Dior does. Solidly unisex IMO. Added to my to-buy list, but I’d never buy it unless I got a big discount

You can order samples from theperfumedcourt! I really enjoyed this, but I don't think I could pull it off. But it is so gorgeous. Teeny tiny bit gives me Nirvana Rose vibes but definitely way way way less rose.

Really tried liking this on myself because it's such a beautifully melancholic fragrance, but patchouli isn't quite my thing. I have a 97% full bottle if anyone wants it.

Am I the only one who can hear a little bit of Creed Aventus on the dry down? The start is a pickle juice with a mix of Noir 29. Vey unique, and somehow I like it.

A strange and rich one, didn't like the opening but then kept returning to smell it. A bit too spicy but then it becomes sorta intoxicating?

Don't get the hype about this and the crazy prices. It reminds me of mens colognes from the 90s...or mens cheap shower gel....
