Gucci Garden

I've noticed a pattern lately, of large commercial brands offering ultra exclusive, limited runs of fragrances. It seems to be a way to skirt IFRA regulation of certain ingredients. This is also how small indie houses are able to still use things like Oak Moss in their creations. Their batch sizes are smaller and therefore must be within or under regulation quantities. This is purely speculation, on my part. But, it explains such seemingly bone-headed exclusivity decisions from a big house, like Gucci. 🤷🏽♀️

Very dense flower bouquet, like a flower house closed for a few days, no air, just flowers and some woody sweetness. It’s for a flowery fragrance lovers only, I am not one of them. I enjoy smelling it, yet I cannot imagine myself wearing it. It’s a bit retro tho and I like retro. I detect no bergamot in it, but I smell some white flowers not mentioned in the notes 🤷♀️

Opens with a wet, green violet leaf and powdery impression that dries down to be identical to Iris Ganache as it develops. Costs 370€.

Wow I've been foolishly looking for it (in California) not knowing how exclusive it was...Oh well, it's easy to move on when nothing of date is worth the $330 anyway 🤷🏼 @SuzScents From my understanding, they would not be able to sell it in Europe if they didn't comply with IFRA; also, these big companies would never go out of their way to use expensive ingredients without making a HUGE deal out of them and charging 3x the price 🙄 What you're describing is an all-natural & pro-vintage indie movement that's popular in the U.S.

Can't help but agree with the previous poster, and adding that this seems more like Gucci shooting themselves in the foot - 1,000 bottles is practically nothing, and for a commercial brand like Gucci it seems a bit, well, futile rather than luxe.
