Gucci Guilty Absolu de Parfum Pour Homme

- Yes, this is super redundant to the Elixir. But it's underpromoted, it was probably made as a fall/winter/night version for people who use GGE as their signature scent, and as a way to bring in more people to the line with a fresh release. Or for folks like me who have already gone through more than one bottle of the Elixir and wouldn't mind replacing it with something same but different. - Yes, you might get a strange chemical whiff here and there for the first hour. But the crappy pissy atomizer is mostly to blame, this is very strong and should be sprayed from further away, and never double sprayed on the same spot. Also, this smells less "plastic" than the Elixir because the lactonic nuances are toned down by the benzoin. - No, the Elixir was not that close to Reflection Man, mashing up that DNA with Pegasus changed the scent a lot, to the point that it had different sillage (and usage cases). This one strays even further, it is an even thicker and more substantial scent, and the spice and amber make it quite different. It is as close to Reflection as it is to Delphinus or LHI L'Intense or plenty of other stuff. Not much. - Yes, this sits a bit closer to the skin than the Elixir, and dies down sooner. But the skin scent is amazing. And the trail it leaves is the same unstoppable compliment machine that was GGE. If it works on your skin, this is not a "You smell nice" thing, it's an "OMG you smell fantastic!". - Yes, it is another designer that's more expensive than some niche releases. But it is also super super strong so it's kind of worth the price if it suits you. - Orange blossom was considered feminine in the 80s, get over it and stop whining. Women love florals on well groomed men, use that to your advantage.

Instant buy. No questions asked. I already had something of an unhealthy obsession with the Elixir. Went through almost a whole bottle since acquiring it. Bought this (15% off @ Macy's doesn't hurt as much price-wise) and am thrilled to have it. I am a hardcore fanboy of men's fragrances utilizing white florals. Orange blossom? Count me in! I know florals, particularly white florals, aren't everyone's cup of tea, but they sure do work for me. This is a MUCH smoother, more well-rounded iteration of the OG, with the same overall structure. A bit less 'astringent' if that is the term. Longevity and projection are both above average, and easily on-par with the OG. Seems to have more depth, and a slightly darker edge. A slight touch of booze. I love it. Is it similar to the original? Yes. Is it worth it? If you like the DNA, then also yes. Similar to the arguments being had over in the BDC l'exclusif page; I personally don't find that fragrance to be worth it. I do, however, believe that this one IS, for me. The next person may or may not agree, and that is fine. I am very happy to add this one. Now to wait for Fall......

Gucci Guilty Absolu de Parfum Pour Homme is a spicy, floral, and balsamic fragrance. It opens with aromatic and balsamic notes; the benzoin lends an incense-like quality, while the inclusion of almond—combined with tonka bean and vanilla—creates a delicious scent. White floral notes are also perceptible, though less intense here than in the Elixir version; as it dries down, a subtle leather and labdanum accord emerges, adding richness to the fragrance. While the scent isn't entirely groundbreaking, it is extremely pleasant, reminding me of Oriental fragrances like Body Kouros or Pi by Givenchy. Given its scent profile, this fragrance is ideal for cool or cold days—specifically during autumn and winter, or on cool spring nights—and works well for formal occasions, casual outings, or romantic dates. In my experience, its longevity has been excellent, lasting over 12 hours with moderate projection. I prefer this new Gucci Guilty version over the Elixir; it was essentially love at first sniff. Those echoes of Body Kouros and Pi really put me in a good mood. Plus, my wife absolutely loves it when I wear it.

Not really close to any version of Myslf. Sure it shares orange blossom but that's it. This is similar to the original Guilty Elixir but without the wintergreen root beer nuance, and instead amping up the smooth pimento/nutmeg spice and the dry slightly petrol leather, too. On my skin this is quite a bit darker than the original and feels decidedly autumnal evoking shades of burnt orange and burgundy. Not as groundbreaking as the original with its neo-oldschool floral leather approach, but just as good and undoubtedly leagues above the majority of new releases both mainstream and niche. About 7 hours into my first wearing and this projects less than Elixir and seems like it will not last quite as eternally long. This is actually preferable to me as my one big complaint with Elixir is that it's just too strong and long lasting, interfering with the following day's scent. Also, on me this is a lot spicier and less sweet on skin than on paper. I'm getting a noticeable somewhat piney labdanum and red chili note at this stage, mixed with vanilla benzoin and leather. Delightful!

Tested this in store and then managed to get a sample. I don't have Guilty Elixir as to me there was just something a little off-putting in the opening, almost minty/black licorice like. I do have the newest Guilty Love Edition though as it is like a lighter/stripped down version of the Elixir and I love the creamy white florals/candy-like sweetness it has. This new Absolu de Parfum still has that same backbone to it as Guilty Elixir/Love Edition, just now with the added rum and almond giving it a slightly sweet booziness mixing with the spicy red chili. As it starts to dry down a bit you can tell there a bit more of the amber/vanilla sweetness than the previous ones, and you can start picking up hints of leather throughout for the first couple hours. Then as it has fully settled it smells pretty much just like Guilty Elixir with mostly just the vanilla sweetness. It kind of feels like mixing Love Edition with something like Hugo Boss The Scent Elixir.

I "absolutely" love the original Gucci Guilty Elixir, and it's my fav elixir of all time, so I had to get this one. Found it on a site at a good discounted price and pulled the trigger. It was love at first sniff, just like the original. Gucci Guilty Elixir - A bit more fresh, airier, and lighter Gucci Guilty Absolu De Parfum - It opens as a dark boozy version of GGE, lot of almond and nuttiness, can't really smell the Red Pepper, and in the dry down its much more leathery, and darker. They both have the same DNA but also have their own uniqueness. GGE - whiter, fresher, airier, floral GGA - darker, nutty, boozy, leathery Is it Redundant ? for a normal nose, Yes Do I regret buying it? No Love both the versions of the perfume. I'll keep one for day time and other for the night out. Note: It is a beast mode just like its predecessor, I easily got more than 10 hours on clothes and 7 hours on skin.

Having loved Reflection man 45 but not the price tag, Gucci Guilty Elixir was a fantastic substitute. I tried the Absolu in Birmingham airport after a frag buddy put me onto it stating that it was a less floral, but richer fragrance. I wasn't expecting much difference because lets face it, a lot of these flankers are just money spinners. However... This new release is a beauty! As my friend said, it is indeed a deeper, warmer, richer version of the scent with the florals toned down. The opening notes of Rum, Almond and Orange Blossom give it a really nice twist on the Elixir, then once the Tonka and Vanilla join the party it keeps the same kind of vibe. Now you're gonna get really mixed opinions about this frag, this is Fragrantica. My advice is to try before you buy on your skin and see how you get on. Personally I really like it and I will wear it alot this Autumn/ Winter. Enjoy HS75

Very similar to Elixir. If you love the scent profile then it's worth having both as together they offer day (Elixir) or night (Absolu) versatility, and cover all four seasons (Elixir for warmer and Absolu for colder weather). In the drydown I caught some similarity with Afnan 9pm Elixir, almost as if a hybrid of GG Elixir and 9pm Elixir. Having checked the notes there are several key overlaps in the dominant aspects I notice most: leather, pimento/red chilli pepper, labdanum, vanilla. Smells great and seems like a top performer so far.

After already owning ‘Elixir’ I thought I’d give this a try as a frag buddy put me onto it. I tested it on the way to Lisbon and fell in love with it instantly. Yes it shares some notes with ‘Elixir’ but this is superior in my eyes. I sold the latter and just kept this one instead. The rum and almond notes makes this a lovely warm, boozy fragrance, but not too much to make it a gourmand. Is it a blind buy? no, defo try before you buy. Perfect for the colder weather. Enjoy

This is my favourite scent of those my husband wears. Drives me crazy. I have never smelled a men’s fragrance as nice as this, ever. It’s slightly boozy, warm, and masculine. The florals bring it a fresh liveliness that is surprising and attractive, and I don’t find it overpowering at all, though the sillage and longevity is impressive. Pricey for 60ml, but you don’t need to use a lot and I think, for how much we both enjoy this scent, it’s good bang for the buck.

I like this way more than I thought based on the notes. It's a bit heavy but nicely blended and warm. After it settles down, I would describe the smell as vanilla, labdanum and leather. There's a slight dusty-chocolate note that made me think of patchuli, but i'm not sure that's it. To me it smells like a gentleman: confident, calm and charming. I love it on my bf, but I only find it wearable in winter, maybe autumn too. It would be too heavy in warm weather

I didn’t need to think twice after smelling it for the first time. I got a bottle once I got my hand on a decent deal. The fragrance is sweet and slightly dark at the same time. The performance is good, especially during the first few hours. I can’t really distinguish the individual notes except for the tonka and vanilla, but it’s definitely something I smelled for the first time.

Very similar to the elixir, only difference is this loses a bit of that white floral spark and amps up the sweetness and the resinous feel, the rum is soft but adds depth too. This has the same longevity, but it seems to be a bit less strong as for the projection, which is fine to me, if I had to pick, I'd slightly favor the absolu for that added depth.

Omg people crying about Gucci elixir being feminine when the Top Men perfumes are Dior homme Intense ,Layton , Guerlain edp,and the new fresh men perfumes are all about sweet fruits and Ginger. And honestly Gucci elixir smells more manly and vintage compared to most of them.. OK yeah it's not Beau de jour or Terre Manly but no way feminine.

Absolute (absolu!) Stunner. Didn't get it at first as I smelt amaretto and germoline but this settles into a wonderful intoxicating fragrance that lifts your spirit and makes you feel confident. I've got a small decant at the moment and, maybe after a few years of graft and selling my organs, I will get a full (60ml) bottle! Here's hoping!

It starts off as a more adventurous and fun Gucci Guilty EDP, develops immediately into SWY Parfum with that dark amber - throughout this, it's enveloped by a bourbon-esque vanilla (not the sweet kind) and BOOM - at the end? Freshly minced aromatic red chili pepper. Such a fresh ending to an otherwise ambery rich fragrance.

This is hands down top 5 best designer ever released. Smell is amazing, lasts for over 10 hours and great silage. This stuff makes you smell like a prince or come from money! Phenomenal fragrance. I have 3 bottles just in case they reformulate. Better then the elixir but both nice

The Absolu and Elixir are not the same to me like the comment below said. The Absolu has a strong rum and almondy scent that Elixir do not have in its opening but they are quite similar in the middle. The Absolu enhances the maturity, complexity and depth. So love them both.

Really confused by the absence of a listed cherry note - it’s definitely not almond to my nose. Or at least not the almond I get from Pegasus. Smells like a syrupy version of the Elixir. Very intriguing and powerful scent.

It doesn't have the versatility of elixir the dry down is Elixir with leather and the opening is more sweet boozy do I like it ? Yeah for sure but for me the OG elixir is better with this floral notes mixed with benzoin.

toes the line between too sweet, and warm vanilla perfectly. I wouldn't wear every day; but a great cold weather special occasion fragrance. lasts forever.

It's a darker, more mature version of the elixir. It has kind of a boozy/smokey vibe. Both of these scents are great though

I love it. Boozy vanilla almond scent. Cooler weather and evenings out. Mass appealing scent for sure.

After owning and loving Gucci Guilty Elixir de Parfum, I was intrigued by the launch of Guilty Absolu de Parfum. The addition of rum and red chilli peppers just made this flanker seem even more attractive, since I love a boozy, warm spicy note. And as expected I find Guilty Absolu de Parfum extremely appealing. But not different enough for me to buy a bottle, at least not until I finish the Guilty Elixir one. It’s still predominantly a warm white floral with strong nutty/almondy, vanilla facets, but it has that extra booze note added and chilly peppers that make the original DNA even better. More complex, more nuanced and slightly more masculine smelling. But still amazing, long lasting, good projector and quite distinctive, at least as far as the designers releases are currently. With the caveat that if you already have the Elixir like I do, maybe you don’t need this, otherwise go try this. It’s interesting, it’s mass appealing, but has a bit of a niche twist, it’s a room filler type of scent and it’s ideal for cool weather, which it’s the season we’re in! It’s a great release for Gucci and an excellent unisex warm spicy, white floral perfume all together! Highly recommend it.

Finally got my nose on this fragrance. It's really well done but not what I expected at all with the rum, almond and leather notes being added into the absolu. I was expecting some Guerlain ideal dna mixed with the guilty dna. The initial spray was the same as elixir, but stronger and sweeter with a slight boozy scent. Then leather started rounding out the fragrance. When I was outside I notcied the red pepper really shining threw when I got warm from the heat outside. It smelled just like the produce section at a store, and a pepper, but mainly only when I was warmed up did I smell the pepper accord. This absolu is absolutely beast mode. I sprayed this on my hand around 11am. Could still smell it on my hand even after my shower in the evening.. And I even scrubbed it off so I could wear my other newest fragrance, but it was still there. Not as prominent, but it was there all the way until I passed out around 11pm 12am midnight. Even after a shower and reapplying another fragrance to my hand where gucci was, I could still smell it overpowering my other fragrance until I fell asleep. Probably one of the most powerful fragrances I've ever sampled.

Sprayed once on back of hand. Same plastic putty smell that made me never give either release a chance. The opening is so fucking off putting. Then it hit me. Son of a Bisch! This is a Quentin Bisch creation. Where Ganymede's opening is so unusual that I can't place the scent, Elixir and Absolu reeks of plastic putty and I can't stand it. After about ten minutes I couldn't take it anymore and rinsed it off with plain water. That's when I could finally smell the drydown that was coming. I fucking loved it! That drydown, I'm going back to Sephora to try both fragrances on each hand. Edit: The opening is terrible and hangs on waaaaaay to long. That plumbers putty smell eases up but never goes away as the fragrance develops. I waited a couple hours until I had enough. I rinsed Absolu and Elxir off with water and only then the scent was amazing. Crazy

I live in Ireland so this is a year round scent for me (for the most part). I only have a sample of this and am wearing for the first time today. I own and love the Elixir and I have to say this is also a banger. I love how the Elixir smells, but I dont get a chance to wear it that much. Like I would wear it maybe to an outdoor gig or something because it is beast mode orange blossom bomb. This new one I think they have dialled back( muted slightly) the Orange blossom and warmed it up with some booze and a chilly note. It is cosier version. It is another hit for me from Gucci. I think they are on a bit of a run (for my taste) of late. Going to wishlist this one and likely buy it but I gotta stop buying so many fragrances 😂 maybe when I finish the elixir

If you can imagine the Elixir with a little spice and booziness added, but less orange blossom, then you have a pretty close idea of how this smells. The elixir smells amazing, so this one smells good too. It does definitely seem to tone down the orange blossom (sadly) so you trade floral for boozy. The dry down smells strangely somewhat similar to Stronger With You Absolutely. I prefer the Elixir, because it smells way more niche and unique (sometimes even a little medicinal, root beer like). The performance and projection is good, worse than the Elixir tho. For me it just doesn’t have the same magic the Elixir has.

I just tested this in store and I own the elixir. If you are trying to avoid redundancy then it’s a skip. If you like the elixir dna and like the subtle differences then you do you boo. Personally I’m getting a little tired of flankers at least those with heavy reminder of previous ones. But I guess that’s the point of a flanker. If I graduate to this it’ll be after I empty the elixir. All in all it’s good. If you like the elixir you’ll either love this one or like it as well.

Smells nice, but for the current price, that, , as you know, it’s definitely overpriced, is a no for me. The subtle differences compared to the Elixir are minimal, just get the Elixir and you’ll be fine. No one around you is going to smell the difference. Performance is good, similar to the OG, so for those new to the game that have nightmares worrying that if it doesn’t last 24 hours it’s either a weak fragrance, a fake or reformulated can have a good night sleep.

Smells like a more manly version of the gucci flora line. To me this isn't a fragrance I get excited about but it smells quite appropriate when wearing it. It's balanced, masculine yet not too bold. I see it as a good fragrance for a man between 25-40 years old who likes to smell good but is not so into fragrances. i.e. he has one perfume in his collection. He's content with his one perfume, and gets another bottle when the first one is empty.

This is a good release. Not the greatest or something spectacular. But for the colder months, you can't go wrong with this one. It's spicy and boozy. The drydown reminded me of Joop! Homme Wild. And then I looked up the notes and then it hit me. It is the rum. Only weird thing to me is that people rated this as a beast of a fragrance, but on me it has really moderate performance.

I've come to the conclusion the fact this fragrance is an elixer and the atomizer sprays like a garden hose explains my negative experience. I baby sprayed a test strip today and found the scent profile to be balanced and very good. It was no longer coming off as plumbers putty but rather fresh. It was pissing me off not being able to understand why it gets good reviews.

I suspect it has to be on skin to get the true scent of this fragrance because on test strip both the Elixir and Absolu smell terrible. On test strip it smells as stated by reviewer, Olere Novum, a synthetic chemical plastic putty. How can anyone rave about that scent? Maybe today I'll test it on my wrist. There has to be a reason for it's favorable reviews.

Opening is kind of interesting for me, it smells like the box of a brand new pair of shoes, but the dry down is strong, boozy, sweet and its just perfect for adults specifically. Longevity is eternal. Overpriced for 60ML

This is really pleasant. It's fresh but sensual and smells elegant. The spiciness is not overwhelming, it is masculine but not harsh. My husband really liked it and i like it on him. Thumbs up!

A more budget friendly reflection man with the addition of rum. At least to my nose. I also get some pegasus vibes from it. Its a good scent but certainly not unique

If you own the OG Elixir, wait until you finish that one to buy this one. 90/95% identical. You can have both only if you’re a collector or really love this DNA.

Gucci Guilty Absolu de Parfum Pour Homme is a super sweet oriental amber with prominent notes of almond, tonka, and vanilla. There’s a slight boozyness in the open and into the mid as well as a tiny bit of some warm spice thanks to chili pepper. 6 hours in and the vanilla becomes more apparent as well as a sort of powdery makeup like smell, it’s not iris though. And that’s about it. This fragrance isn’t complex and quite linear overall. My opinion...it’s another super sweet tonka & vanilla fragrance. Absolutely nothing special, new, or unique going on here. It smells “nice” but for $210 CAD I want more than nice. And the 60mL bottle, that’s just insulting. If you want the same super sweet almond & tonka vibe that this fragrance is going for, but for a fraction of the money, try Shaghaf Oud Tonka instead. You can get that fragrance at the discounters for like $40’ish CAD. Longevity wise, Absolu de Parfum Pour Homme gave me a solid 12 hours with 4 sprays. Projection is decent too. Finally in terms of when I’d wear this: winter/fall and early spring. Pretty much whenever it’s cold. In conclusion, I don’t recommend this fragrance. It’s not doing anything in any way shape or form to justify that absurd price tag, and as mentioned before, you can get fragrances that smell very similar for a fraction of the price.

No. This is too much, and not in a satisfying way. Compared to the original Gucci Guilty Elixir Pour Homme, this Absolu de Parfum feels heavier, louder, and more forceful, but not more refined. The original had better balance: orange blossom, spice, orris, osmanthus, vanilla, benzoin, patchouli, and Ambrofix felt strange but controlled. Here, the rum, bitter almond, orange flower, labdanum, tonka, chili pepper, vanilla, benzoin, and leather accord all seem to be fighting for dominance.  It wants to be boozy, but it never fully becomes boozy. It hints at leather, but never commits to being a proper leather fragrance. It tries to keep some freshness from the orange blossom, yet the density of the sweet, spicy, resinous base keeps dragging it back down. The result feels confused: too heavy to feel bright, too polished to feel dirty, too sweet to feel dangerous, and too loud to feel elegant. The nuances that made the original Elixir interesting are drowned here under a thick, overworked mixture. Yes, it has more weight and presence, but more weight does not automatically mean more beauty. I’d give this 3/5, especially when the original Guilty Elixir Pour Homme is a clear 5/5 for me. Save your money. Buy the original Elixir instead. It is better balanced, more distinctive, and far more convincing.

I never liked the OG Gucci Guilty Elixir very much. The OG Elixir has a thick synthetic chemical plastic putty smell that I find very off putting. That is still present in this 'lil gem, but it is muted by the almond, red chilli pepper and rum accord. I agree with everyone who is saying GG Absolu is similar to the OG Elixir ... it is, but it is better. It smells better, the harsh chemical accord i get so strongly in the OG is less obvious in Absolu, and the overall scent is improved. I would gladly trade my OG Elixir bottle for this one, but I don't think it is good enough to waste $195.00 on it. Maybe I will get it in 2026 when it gets down closer to $100 at discounters. But for now, I have a dozen or more other orange blossom fragrances that smell a heck of a lot better. 7.0/10 and a Fragrantica score of 3.85

I was actually excited for this one, it's rare for me especially coming from Gucci, I also happened to predict this fragrance, but as for the scent, "it's good, but not good enough" -(prime)Jeremy fragrance. I was hoping for more booze barely had any, bitter almond with orange blossom, with a subtle sweetness in the opening, which is not my favorite, drys down to a nice sweet vanilla, but honestly nothing more, projection isn't as good as the elixir, also doesn't smell as good as the elixir, not as smooth, a bit disappointed, but definitely try before you buy, especially when it's not cheap🫡 Edit:: so I'm late in the dry down, and it's a smooth sugary sweet amber, and the longevity is very good on par with the elixir, I think it's good but not to my standard 🤷

I bought it a week ago and have sprayed it 5-8 times at most. It is predominantly Leather, Vanilla, Rum, and some orange blossoms. Despite being new, it smells like an old batch. Its longevity is weaker compared to the classic elixir. It is a fragrance that needs to sit and macerate. It might be disappointing.

Better than the previous elixir but still too similar to the elixir that I own to justify a purchase. To me It would be like chosing between bdc edp or bdc parfum.
