Gucci Guilty Oud

The third Alberto Morillas composition of late from Gucci, Gucci Guilty Oud, follows two successful releases (at least to me) in Gucci Guilty Absolute Pour Homme and Pour Femme. Certainly the most-recent Oud feels like a logical continuity from the next-most-recent Femme, as there is an overlap of berries, rose, patchouli, and amber (in order of descending prominence). With Femme, we get red berries, but in Oud, we get a sharper, more distinct blackberry note that sings from the top, surely the brightest part of the entire fragrance, but nevertheless (similarly to Femme) quickly drying down into a rose/patchouli/amber blend, with very subtle hints at leather and woods. Oud's performance is strong, a bit denser than Femme (and perhaps even slightly edging out Homme), with a couple hours of great projection followed by another 6+ on skin. Certainly these latest releases feel of niche quality and execution, and in the case of Oud specifically, a synthetic, smooth oud serves nicely in lieu of a richer, albeit more animalic or medicinal, counterpart, seen in higher-end offerings. Pricing ($137-$146 for 90ml via retail) is higher than Femme and a lot higher than Homme, but I'd expect Oud, like its predecessors, to be available on the secondary market at a significant discount. It's a bit of a tough sell at retail, but under $100, it may turn a lot of heads like Gucci Intense Oud did years ago. 8 out of 10

Well!! my experience with the Gucci Guilty Absolute for both genders wasn't successful at all! I couldn't endure the complexity of the so fruitful blackberry note next to the annoying woodsy note in Gucci Absolute pour femme at all, and found the men's version so harsh for my taste! So when this came out I was hesitant to try it out, But I did,, and,, OH MY GOD! It was an easy LOVE for me with no doubt!!! Comparing it to its sisters: Gucci Absolute pour femme I guess it does indeed share the same Blackberry note in GA pour femme, but its so smooth, so pure, and lovely here, but it doesn’t stay for the whole life-span of the fragrance, however it keeps the scent sweet along with the roses; and I'm glad, actually so glad that I don't get the cypress and the other annoying woodsy notes that are included there!! instead, Alberto Morillas replaced these notes with a heavenly luxurious oud note!! Gucci intense oud: Both are extremely successful oud fragrances, Intense oud is more subtle, less sweet, and more smokey, has a perfect niche quality, pure ingredients and for that I give it 4.5/5, leans to be more masculine than unisex, but I wear it no matter what. Gucci Guilty oud is an easier, less serious concoction!! a beautiful mix between oud and sweet fruity notes, I give it 4/5, and finally a perfectly unisex fragrance!

So this has a similarity to Guerlain’s Oud Essential. I’m a Guerlain addict, so this pains me to say, this is better. The blackberry puts this over the top. THIS IS IMPORTANT. This is a total departure from the rest of the Gucci Guilty line. If you get this thinking there will be even a hint of the Guilty dna you will be disappointed. Saying that; this is my favorite in the entire line. It’s predominantly Blackberry, rose, and oud. It’s a bit mysterious on a masculine wearer. Black tailored suit, black button down shirt, no tie at an evening out. It’s also perfectly unisex. If this was in a niche bottle, people would love it. I think the fact that they included this in the Guilty line may be where some of the criticisms stem from. If they had called this Gucci Blackberry Oud, I think, knowing what you’re getting, people would’ve raved about it. I don’t wear a lot of rose fragrances myself, but this is my favorite. The performance all around is solid.

There is no better oud out there for this price*!!! I can admit that I was initially put off because it's in the gucci guilty line, but once I tried it out I was immediately in love! This fragrance is powerful, without being overpowering. The oud is very present while still allowing all the other notes to shine through, and it has the perfect amount of sweetness to keep it on the sensual side. It is my go-to for a night out because I feel sexy in it and it LASTS- it will definitely be present, not just lingering on me even after a full night of dancing! Both me (female) and my boyfriend can wear it and get compliments. Great value, great versatility- if you have been looking for a good oud but aren't quite ready/able to spend 300+ dollars on one this is your best choice. 10/10- will hunt it down and repurchase when my bottle runs out even if it gets discontinued. *When I purchased my 90ml bottle it was around 90 USD.

I confirm: Morillas is back, and Gucci just had a (needed) earthquake! When I tried Guilty Absolute, it has been a "coup de foudre" (litterally a "thunder hit", meaning love at first sight in french). One week later, it was on my shelf. (Yes... despite the love, I m patient enough to buy at online discounters for 1/3rd of the retail price) With Guilty Oud, it's an encore. A beautiful fragrance with good projection. Rose is present, but no worries, it's subtle (I hate strong rose oud fragrances). Berries on top, then a subtle rose and clean patchouli (no worries, it's very light, no Zino here, haha!), and then an amber and oud finish. Great frag, even if the oud is the usual aromachemical, and clearly not the major note here. Gucci Intense Oud remains the best choice, but at current ebay/discounter pricing (~$60), it's also a winner! Fall/winter evenings, 25+

Add some oud and rose to one of my favorite long lasting aftershaves, Pinaud Clubman Special Reserve, and you have Gucci Guilty Oud! The oud isn't overpowering. I get a fruity opening with some oud. As the fragrance rolls on, you smell the oud but the rose, despite being a top note, doesn't really become prominent until further into the dry down. It's one of the more interesting fragrances I own for that reason. Others here write that they're getting great projection. The projection is ok on my June 2018 bottle but the scent hangs around for what seems like half a day!. The longevity is excellent and surprised me to the point where I had to edit this review several times. I find myself smelling whiffs here and there 10 hours after applying 4 sprays. I have a bunch of rose and oud fragrances but I think this is the best of the bunch.

Gorgeous scent, this is a big love for me. This is a very approachable clean western Oud that still maintains a middle eastern vibe. There’s no cumin or “funk” in this unless you think leather is funky. In the initial opening there’s a lot of sweet rose and tart blackberry, it’s a little naturally sweet and jammy, not overly/synthetic sweet. Around 30minutes the leather and Oud come out more, the patchouli is light but detectable. Everything here is pretty evenly blended, no one note seems to dominate, and it stays in this realm for several hours with better than average projection. At the 7 hour mark this has become a warm dry amber with a 1-2 foot scent bubble.

This was an immediate love. Gucci Guilty Oud gives you a light, sour oud from jump. The blackberry is prominent, providing a sour sweetness that comes off a little playful. It’s not overbearing by any means - and I think this is aptly marketed as a unisex scent. I can’t say that it’s an extremely unique scent - but it is done very well - and is pretty true to the note breakdown. Unfortunately the blackberry goes away a little quickly - and the scent itself seems to breakdown rapidly. With that said, the scent that remains is nice - mostly oud and rose. It’s a nice entry for oud lovers and newbies. Not scary, not risky. I would recommend. 7/10

Omg this perfume is beautiful. It it smells like Gucci absolute pour femme with an added light oud vibe, the blackberry and oud blend very well together, not your typical oud/rose smell. I recently purchased it, and I am very happy with it. It is definitely unisex, with a universal appeal. Such a shame it’s discontinued, luckily is scored a new bottle, thinking about buying a backup if I can find one for decent price . If you can find this don’t hesitate picking it up, can’t see anyone not enjoying this one. Scent 9/10 Value 8/10 Longevity 8/10 Projection 8/10 Overall 8.5/10

I won't try to describe it because a lot of people did that already in here, But with all the designer "oud rose fragrances" in the market it made that DNA repetitive and boring, But Alberto Morillas did a nice job in Gucci guilty oud which is more exciting with the fruity sweet aspects which made it more smooth and enjoyable to wear along with the alluring element of the oud note. Beautiful fragrance, But unfortunately it's discontinued.

Love Love Love! Morillas is doing incredible things at Gucci!!! A true unisex scent! Oud rose combo isn't too strong and very wearable. Very sweet and fruity! Smells like a sangrias or dark red wine in the opening. Then the leather creeps in and smooths out the sweetness and you get some earthiness from the patchouli and the dry down is a nice smooth slightly sweet balance between rose and oud. AMAZING!!!

This is a really beautiful scent, very sophisticated, soft, fruity, and surprisingly oudy, projects heavily in the opening, then calms down to a gorgeous, wearable Oud fragrance. No regrets here, love it. If I want a more masculine experience, I pump one GGAbsolute, they go well together. It is 9/10 for me, was waiting till it hits the discounters, but unfortunately (or otherwise) I could not wait.

If there were black colored Rose's, I would hope for this to be how they smell. I picture Bruce Wayne in a tuxedo wearing this. Upscale Sophistication from the Blackberry, Patchouli and leather that wrap themselves around the heart of Oud and Rose. To me more masculine but could see a confident, sexy lady pulling this off.

Beautiful and elegant. I liked it but wont pay for it unless reasonably discounted. Rose oud berries combo. Similar approach to LV Ombre Nomade minus the spectacular smokiness of LV. Gucci is also weaker and way less quality. Below average projection for an oud scent but acceptable longevity on skin.

I love this stuff. Opening is quite piercing with spices, oud and fruit but I enjoy it. Tons of rose/oud fragrances on the market but this one is done very well. Performance is fantastic and the overall smell is beautiful, sexy and opulent. 8/10

The scent is so soapy yet it lures people to focus on every detail of its host. It’s like berry blast. The smell of Coca-Cola mixed with oud just keeps hitting my mind. Be careful not to over spray, you do not want people to choke when you pass.

Tried this last week in a gucci store, a little pricey though but well worth the money, builds on the success of Guilty Absolute, i think this will be a major hit for gucci!

don't look for the old formula this is waay better creamier and stronger . unisex not that unique for an oud perfume though

So, when I got this when it was still kind of affordable, and given the quality of this fragrance I still think it's worth the price even if you have to pay $100 for a 90ml, it's so good that I would say that could be worth it if you're into fragrances like this. I would describe it as completely unisex but I would warn that initially I was turned off by the fact that I think it even leans ever so slightly feminine which will turn a lot of men away. It's very slightly smoky with the oud, but it's blended so well with the rose and the blackberry note that it doesn't give off too much of a smoke vibe. It's fantastic though, I think this could eventually become a favorite but as of right now it's maybe not quite there yet. It's a good signature scent though because it has more versatility than your average oud fragrance, it's very office friendly, and I think you could wear this almost anywhere although maybe it's not quite sexy or obnoxious enough to wear to the club or on a night out where you're with your buddies. It is, however, very romantic smelling and I think it'd be a very good fragrance for a night with your significant other to a very classy restaurant. It's very, very elegant in a way that Gucci seems to excel at with their fragrances. Buy this is you like fragrances in the style of Tom Ford's Black Orchid or Dior Homme, or other highly unisex floral fragrances that are popular with men. ~$90-100 is probably the sweet spot for buying this one at the moment for the 90ml. B+ to A-, I'll have to wear this one more though because it's so interesting.

Pretty similar in vibe to absolute pour femme, but with some notable differences. The rose accord in this takes a more powdery slant, whereas the rose in absolute feels more citric and sharp alongside a more prominent patchouli+cypress accord. I wish the cypriol was bumped up to take the role of cypress, because that balanced out the juicy berry+rose in the absolute. The end result is more powdery and soapy, but with a clean and deep oud accord + soft leather running through it. It is marginally more masculine than absolute pour femme, though I find the two are firmly unisex based on my skin chemistry. The gucci guilty absolute series (male + female + this oud) was an incredible set of flankers that came as close to niche as any designer has gotten in the past decade or so. It's a shame its been discontinued, and I recommend picking this one up but under a 100 dollars, it's definitely niche quality but not worth breaking the bank for.

Rose dominant oud. Slight animalic component fades after the first hour and becomes overall more pleasant and subdued. The rose also fades slightly but remains dominant over the other components. Rose prominence is far too feminine for my taste. Yet I can appreciate the quality of this fragrance. Excellent projection. Still, would never wear this. Update 11/26/20: I’ve become enamored of rose scents and bought this and love it. Have not worn to office but might. Longevity is only 3 or 4 hours but great scent.

I have been watching this...I finally bought it. I gotta admit. This started out as a Hate. 0 hours: hate it. Regret. Sadness. 2 hours: hmmm. Sorta like it. 4 hours: kinda like it. 6 hours: like it? Really like it? This is the first Oud fragrance I’ve ever worn, so that smell was a little weird to start. I have so many Gucci Guilty. My first ever bottle was EDP this time last year, and now I’ve got 20 bottles. I’m going to wear this a couple of more times. Then come back for a final rating.

Durty, fonky cumin-laced oud. Yes there's patchouli, berry, and rose, but they're challenging to detect against the strong animalic backdrop. For advanced noses only - if Ombre Nomade is too much for you, back away slowly. I like the smell per se, but I'd rather not have it represent me in the world. Good for dirtying up too clean frags in a layering combination. Voice of the Snake and Guilty Absolute Femme offer gentler and more wearable remixes of this DNA.

This scent smells more like Amouage Lyric Man than it does any of the modern designer oud iterations. It has a sparkly opening of fresh/fruity musty oud but very quickly turns into a powdery rosy scent. If I was in love with Lyric Man, this would be my new King. Unfortunately, I am not in that camp and prefer the scent of Gucci Gucci Oud over this 'Guilty' Oud. Very glad I tried before blind-buying as it is still quite expensive.

This beery/rose/oud was a better men's rose fragrance than most of its competitors, and it will be missed. It's not particularly complex or multidimensional, but it sits on the skin well and doesn't overstay its welcome. In many ways, it's a less jammy (and less expensive) alternative to something like Rose d'Arabie, but somewhat more versatile.

If you like rose oud but are bored out of your brain of them this is a great pick up. I think the quality is evident from the first spray with a really great blackberry note. Later the rose oud shows up behind it to create a great combo, with some earthy greeness trying to get in on the action too. This is unisex imo.

same rose used in 17 oud mosaic by banana republic. i love this rose. it is much oudy in 17 oud mosaic. i like them both. longevity and projection are perfect.

Feminine leaning nothing special but it’s a beautiful take on ♦️Blackberry + Rose + Oud.

I'm not into Gucci fragrances but this one is really nice.

The initial combination of slightly fecal oud, rose and thick musks give the distant impression of someone having sprayed a rose deodoriser in a stinky toilet. It gradually mellows into a basic woody rose with green touches for much of its life, before settling down on an inoffensive woody base. Overall an above average designer oud, certainly far better than the abhorrent Boss Bottled Oud, but still very much in the cheap designer class and kind of boring apart from the pop of green early on in its development.

Definitely get the rose, but not as much as with the regular Gucci Oud marketed to women. Good dressed up fragrance for a man. Tuxedo, suit and tie for special occasions/weddings. Can be worn casually in cooler weather or at night if you don’t mind the feminine rose.

Strong oud oppening. Slightly fecal (perhaps due to the aerobic oud). More pleasant on the drydown, however the Rose is barely detectable. If you are looking for a rose fragrance I'd recommend trying the Guilty edp.

While it does open with a lovely rose oud, the rose quickly takes the back seat, and a fecal oud takes the lead. Not for everyone, not blind buy worthy.

As you see my collection I know a thing or two about fragrances, I got out of them and kept the gems, but I miss it so I return more obsessed than ever. This composition has been done many times, rose oud, the two notes play well together obviously. This is a A M creation and I can tell. These designer houses want to put all the money in marketing and seek genius arts such as this one to create a “high quality” smell for us. If you want true quality and art , go niche. This stuff has only been on my hand for a couple of hours and it’s not backing down, projection is out of this world and the smell is starting to change , top notes are heavy on the rose and it plays well so far and isn’t going anywhere soon. The leather amber and oud are starting to dance and I like it. I haven’t owned any Gucci Guilty frags and don’t plan on it YET. I will try absolute as it’s right up my ally note wise . I put this on hand only because of who created it, A M is a genius. I probably will add this to the collection from a discount website and I would never pay $160 for this.. great rose oud blend Seems of good quality Scent 8/10 if you like heavy rose Projection is beast And so far longevity I can tell is going to be monster

I can see how this really stands out and for anyone accustomed to the typical designer lines carried at the dept. stores seems exotic. In its most basic form this is simply an oud rose, and a far cry from anything original although perhaps a new marketing approach. By comparison to the popular fragrances, it's mysterious, middle-eastern, and dark. If you are more accustomed to middle-eastern fragrances then this will smell fairly common. The juice may even have a few drops of oud in in which are detectable in the opening, which is fairly compelling, but underneath lives a typical leathery synthetic oud that is common in most of the decent oud fragrances available. The rose is sweet, and there is a noticeable jasmine-vanilla-patchouli combo that rings the Mugler bell and makes this in my humble opinion much better suited for a woman than a man. A fruity berry note is tucked in there, and a typical salty synthetic ambergris and musk that smells very 1998. A warm sandalwood is overcrowded by the glut of notes. As it dries down the composition reveals itself to be overloaded and a bit sloppy. Not impressed by this, there are middle eastern roll on oils for a few dollars that are superior if you like this vibe

I blindbought this, hoping to get something with the Gucci Guilty Absolute DNA plus Oud...but...just like Patrickchula (below) this started out as a hate/refusal. As soon as I sprayed it on, it smelled like a bush of roses in which a dog had pooed. Fortunately, the potency of the oud and rose combination wore off quickly...and 20-30 minutes into it, it smelled like an old lady which had stepped on dog poo...1 hour into it, it smelled very comforting, like my grandma smelled when she put on Bulgarian Rose Moisturiser. By the time I got smelling the drydown ... I was hooked. It's quite creamy and rosey but once you finetune your nose to it, it's classy, refined, undefiantly bold...as in it definitely shows confidence without being arrogant. I hope this makes sense...I have tried to describe it as precisely as possible

Ok soooo, I just left the Gucci store in the King of Prussia Mall. Of course I couldn’t leave without putting my nose on their latest release, GGA Oud. I sprayed it on the back of my hand and also sprayed on a test strip. In the opening I get a bright blackberry mixed with some OUD. I pocketed the test strip and went about my day. After maybe two hours, my hand smells like straight OUD... so disappointing. 3 hours later I go to retrieve the test strip from out my pocket. Wow somehow it smells better on the test strip. It actually smells like a blend of notes. I guess this composition doesn’t seem to agree w/ my skin chemistry AT ALL. But even on the test strip the fragrance is a 4/10. Please give this a try on your own skin, you may have a different experience.

Alberto Morillas has established a legendary status in perfume world by giving us so many classic over the years like CK one, Amouage opus vii, Bvlgari man series, Aqua Di Gio series etc. I was excited to see what he had come up with by combining oud with his signature fresh notes interplay that he is so famous for. And I must say that I am not disappointed. It opens with a sweet blackberry and a hint of spice. However these top notes are short lived and in the middle, rose and oud takes over. The oud here is not bitter but has more natural woody feel to it. In the end a touch of leather gives it a slightly mysterious heaviness. Performance is absolutely beastly 2 to 3 sprays lastwd over 12 hravon my shirt and had huge room filling silage all day long.

This is my second comment/review, just to tell you how much I love it! Smells like berry liqueur or a berry (fruit) punch. The blackberry here is predominant and sweet, but the oud adds a sour/slightly bitter kick that drastically calms down in the drydown. It has a boozy smell-the same sour effect alcohol would add to a sweet berry punch, perfect to balance out the sweetness. It smells like it has vanilla, something not creamy but smooth and round must be the amber. I would honestly wear this on a night out. Black dress. 1 gentleman in the comments below said this was too sweet for him to wear and it leans way more feminine to him, which I can foresee many men thinking the same, but no doubt, men would love to smell this on a female

Andy is right on the money, this is a subtle oud, it's a component in the blend, but it doesn't dominate nor do the rose or the blackberry. I am in the same boat as theBSR, "oudy-oud" fragrances are not my bag, but this is really pleasant. This is a well-blended, hearty-yet-fresh fragrance perfect for the winter. The leather and oud combine to give this an old-school lightly animalic opening, and I told the woman at the counter that "I'd bet there is a decent amount of patch in here because it would fit right in as a Tom Ford private blend fragrance." Sure enough, there it is, adding to the rich, indulgent base. Very nice touch. Great, great fragrance - another winner from Alberto.

I work in retail, and i'm usually not very happy with modern fragrances being too sweet and "safe", crowd pleasers. I must say, i'm impressed with this one though. I'm a big fan of Oudh, and this is a very good take. Opens with a bright slightly medicinal Oudh, but not overpowering, very well balanced. Then turns to that familiar, Sweet wood resin, and patchouli. The dry down however? turns more dusty powdery, and reminds me of that fusty smoky top note of Nasomatto Black Afgano. Longevity: pretty ok projection: pretty good

Oh wow...this one! Went to the Downtown DC Macys today on my lunch break and this was the only oud they had. The nice lady asks if I want a sample, of course I said yes. Very aromatic and oudy opening, surprisingly niche-like for Gucci! The dry down reminds me of getting all dressed up with nice perfume and you cant resist your partner so you guys get it on before you can even make it out the house, and your left with the scent of sex and perfume. Sorry to describe it that way but that's what I get. Welcome back Gucci!

This bears a shocking resemblance to Arabian Oud Royal Oud (which is $1500 retail). I wouldn’t be surprised if Alberto Morillas drew his inspiration from that cologne on this one as Gucci Intense Oud is similar to Black Afgano. This is the best masculine rose I’ve ever smelled and the only rose scent I’d actually really wear. It’s a smooth fresh rose with blackberries smoothing it out. This one is very underrated years into collecting I’ve only found one other fragrance like it. It is unique and smells awesome.

Let me start by saying, I HATE OUDY OUD. I never understood why anyone would want to smell like a wet basement. That being said, I will always smell anything just to give it a shot. I went into Gucci at the Americana Mall in Manhasset and tried it. I m so glad I did. This is one I will absolutely be picking up for the Fall. The blackberry gives it a juicy opening and the oud is not a gross oud at all. I'm a fan of GG Absolute, and this follows that up nicely in the daring fragrance department.

Unfortunately, this is a masterpiece from Gucci, which appeared on the market for a very short time and failed to gain much popularity. Again, very good hit and amazing aroma! Gucci, as always, do not cheat and this perfume is proof. very rare and difficult to find! Worth every penny! Very agarwood..very potent...very fine creation and now very expensive! Top of the top!!! P.S. Nothing simmilar to Polo Supreme oud!!!! Gucci Guilty oud is more niche quality!

Love it. Maybe its the pepper, but something makes this just unforgivable in the beginning. But after the opening, it apologises, and you forgive it. Starts off putting, musky, old, bitter not sweet smell with a bit of oud. Then later becomes a soft, soft sweet(not enuf to say jammy but almost) rose and oud combination. As a woman, id wear this out on a date, jst put it on 30 minutes be4, otherwise he might drive off while u go get ur purse in the house😐

Begins with a light balsamic oud aroma and then transitions into smelling something like how a tart beer tastes. The similarities to Guilty Absolute Pour Femme are definitely there, but I think the added oud makes this wearable by men, and it would be a great spring fragrance for well dressed men. That’s the only season I could see a man wearing this in though, as this fragrance occasionally smells like you’re walking through a garden nursery
