Gucci Guilty

I'll admit, there is a little snobbish part of me that always resists liking a mainstream, popular perfume. I have spent a small fortune on fragrance. I can identify a perfume's genre and even individual notes with one sniff. I mean, I REGULARLY spend time on a website dedicated to the minutiae of perfume. In other words, if the untrained, unwashed masses like it then by definition it cannot be quality right?!? And truthfully, this often does turn out to be the case. When I first started this perfume obsession I bought a few of Sephora's sampler kits, only to realize to my dismay that I didn't like any of the 10 or 12 samples enough to even bother going to redeem the coupon for a full bottle. But every once in a while, whether I like it or not, a mainstream fragrance just sits there on my wrist smelling unapologetically good so consistently that I can deny it no longer. This is one of those fragrances. I can detect the separate notes, especially the lilac and the pepper, and apparently unlike most of the reviewers here, I also get a fairly intense amber. If I think about it, I can see why some think this smells of baby powder. But if I just close my eyes and smell, the overall impression I get is of something dark, sticky and sweet, like a prune or a fig with a carnal twist from the amber. It's not overtly sexy, but the connotation is there. Like a wearing an outfit to work that can't really be called inappropriate in any tangible way, but that makes your more conservative coworkers press their lips together in disapproval and your more liberal coworkers wonder what you're doing tonight. I get it Gucci. I get the "Guilty". Darn it anyways, but I'm buying what your selling.

Lilac & Peach Odyssey... I only have a tester of this from before the reformulation. Opens with a fruity burst of mandarin & pink pepper supported by mult-faceted bergamot, that deepens into the lilac & peach heart. This all rests on an amber-floral support base rounded out by patchouli, white-musk and vanilla. This is really well blended and it's difficult to pick out the additional notes in the heart, but the Gucci DNA is definitely present. It's just so well done that I can understand why it has so many fans. Contrast to Sotoor Seen Rasasi: This is a dupe of Gucci by Gucci but there are similarities with dewy, sweet florals and the Gucci DNA. Sotoor Seen gets a lot sweeter in the drydown with honey, although it has a similarly slow unfolding. Both have excellent performance, but Sotoor Seen has beast mode once it gets going and can work up to a cloying sweetness if oversprayed. Overall: Beautifully blended classic lilac-peach scent with excellent performance. You can't go wrong if looking for a classic amber-fruity-floral. It's a love for me. If you manage to find a bottle, enjoy!

I honestly don't think this is just a perfume. It feels like something else entirely. As if it's made of magic instead of notes. But what's fascinating is that this is a women's perfume, and even I, as a woman, find the perfume itself irresistibly attractive. I can't even tell whether its allure is masculine or feminine it simply has an incredibly powerful presence. It smells like the fragrance of a highly successful businesswoman. Honestly, it deserves more than being someone's date-night perfume. This feels like the kind of fragrance you'd wear to a truly special event or in an extraordinary executive office. It's for a woman who's grounded, confident, and strong without ever losing her femininity. Of course, this couldn't be the signature scent of a 24-year-old girl like me, who gives off a softer, sweeter vibe. But I'm certain that once I'm in my thirties, I'll proudly say, "This is my fragrance." For now; Idôle-Nomade flankers, and YSL Libre Flowers & Flames are my signature scents, and I'm more than happy with them. 🤎

This is arguably my favourite scent - Favourite scent for a particular mood or occasion. Realistically, I don't believe this scent is for everyone however. What is this scent made for in my opinion? Summer. A bottle chilling out in your apartment on your bed, as you gaze into the sunset sipping a Moscato wine, thinking about what outfit you're going to pull together for a night out on the town by the waterfront. It's a certain lifestyle that this scent goes with and perhaps is made for - And it doesn't make sense outside of that lifestyle. Clubbing scent, yes, but luxe lifestyle more so. I would spray this all over me, and my clothes - And it is just a signature scent for those who love Gucci and the beach. :) I prefer the women's EDT however - I am very fussy, and have contemplated all of them - This is my favourite concoction and I don't believe you can purchase it anymore within Gucci boutiques? I just find mine at Chemist Warehouse :) Now that's style :D

This was my first ever designer perfume. Got it as a gift for my Birthday from my then Boyfriend and this was Sometime in 2018 when I knew absolutely nothing about Perfume Notes or what Niche in perfumery even was lmao. But I Absolutely adore this fragrance. I wore it to every special occasions then. Date nights, club, parties, the park, to church and weddings lol but even at that, I used it sparingly too. Two to four spritz and I was Good to go. I can say that the projection of this is moderate but the performance is amazing. Even when I go nose blind to this, people around me could still smell my fragrance so the sillage is amazing. I absolutely love the dry down of this. It’s giving what it’s supposed to give on my skin so yeah. Hoping to repurchase this sometime soon.❤️

I feel like Fragrantica reviewers tend to look down to a perfume that easy to understand and mass pleasing. They reduce the fragrance into ‘generic’ category. And they will write long essays and praises for scents that are complicated to understand. I will keep it real. Gucci Guilty is a beautiful fragrance. If you’re looking for a flexible scent, one that inoffensive enough to wear at work and fun enough to wear after hour; this is for you. It gives a clean, unbothered but smells good vibes for working environment but still cool enough for a night out. If you’re not looking for a challenge in perfume especially for work, just trying to be proper, this will be a great choice. And oh, people around you will like it, ignore these 0.001% of the population, the fragrance snobs.

This was always my go to party girl perfume. Not sure why, but I have worn this to many bars and parties. I would literally never ever wear this in the daytime because it just reminds me of drinking, cigarettes, and lipgloss. To me it was the perfect fragrance to wear with a smoky eye and a leather jacket. When you smell it, you cannot tell what any of the notes are IMO. It just smells like what it smells like which sounds silly but it just does. But I have never smelled another scent like it! I still have about half my bottle left and will cherish it for what it is. Smells vintage and synthetic but so so nostalgic and holds so many memories. The bottle is also so bougie looking but over the years my hands have worn away a lot of the gold.

I bought this one when it was fairly new. I loved it and I do remember recognizing it on others, so I can say it is definitely a unique and recognizable scent. Maybe for those that like loud perfumes and they were expecting something totally different from the Guilty name, this one was a bit disappointing. For me it smells like a very feminine modern floral scent. I smell lilac mixed with jasmine with slight spiciness. The dry down surprises with a little sweetness - vanilla. I like it in winter, or colder weather. I like lighter scents, so it works for me. Oh, I should add I like the bottle. My kids (boys) think it is the coolest one that I have :). The sprayer is not the best. When I finish this one, I may try a flanker of GG.

The name of Guilty is a bit misleading and the glitzy packaging to me also seems a bit at odds with the perfume itself. The name Guilty implies that it's a daring, bold perfume when in fact it's a soft, sweet, slightly powdery, decidedly INNOCENT smelling perfume! It's not a particularly standout or unique perfume but I really like it and on my skin it smells beautiful, soft and subtle. I'm surprised to see lilac listed in the notes though because I don't actually smell that at all, and lilac is one of my favorite notes! Still, overall I think Guilty is a lovely perfume and, in my opinion, one of the best mainstream perfumes, aside from Nina, Maitresse and L.I.L.Y. I need a bottle of it soon!

Guilty indeed... This fragrance is hot. I get girl out on the town in New York vibes, dripping in Gucci Guilty, laughing, feeling confident and bold. The brand's descriptor is perfect: "It is designed for the glamorous, daring, brave, and very sexy girls who like to party and enjoy themselves." This is it! The fragrance opens with mandarin and bergamont and slowly dries down to delicious jasmine and amber notes that I love. It's not really sweet, not too floral, just sexy and rich. It's a little synthetic but in a way I like. Slightly oriental, Gucci Guilty is an amber floral fragrance that just works. The bottle really gives the whole feel of this fragrance.

this scent has always been my "secret weapon." more of a fall, winter, night time scent especially when going out for the night with friends or a date. I've always gotten comments on it and even one from a friend who hated the smell of it from the bottle but then loved it on my skin later on. it's feminine but not too much (which fits me very well) and it makes me feel confident and sexy... so much so that I love to spray some on myself as I'm getting ready. it can be VERY intense though so don't overdue it with the spritzes, keep it light and mysterious and I assure you it will draw people in.

I recently bought this original formulation on eBay (I missed this cute little unique bottle) and today tested it side by side with the newer EDT version. Both fragrances are almost identical with the original being slightly spicier, crisper, the notes more distinct. This original also projects considerably more and lasts longer on my skin. Although the original has the edge over the new EDT, I'm pleased at the very least we still get to enjoy this beautiful fragrance. Edit: trying them side by side (again) and must add that the original also smells very soapy, like a literal bar of soap.

I sold this years ago for 30 dollars. WHY DID I DO THAT. DID I NOT KNOW I HAD GOLD i smelled the new edt yesterday and knew i needed this again. now, i haven't smelled this version in 5 years, but i am SO excited to have it again and i will be holding onto it for dear life. Update: I have it now and I'm elated <3 I bought 3 pre-loved partial bottles and scored one full tester. Projection and longevity are good! Not beastly, but good. I've been wearing this almost daily for over a month now and for all occasions. It's perfect.

This was my first perfume ever that I absolutely loved for many reasons. I’d say my first real signature scent. I do get compliments wearing this. Has great sillage and lasts a long time on my skin. Another that I would also wear for nights out and I’d still be able to smell on myself the morning after lol.. definitely a fun, sexy vibe to it. I think this was my first perfume that didn’t give me headaches as well. It’s warm, mature and spicy. Lots of good memories from my 20s with this one.

Wasn’t sure the first time I sniffed this. It’s spicy, powdery and patchouli. But the more I wears it the more it grows on me. When I need a confidence booster I will definitely go with Gucci Guilty. It gives me a powerful feeling but still friendly and sexy at the same time. But I believe this version isn’t available anymore and when it’s available it became way too overpriced. So when you have a chance to grab it, go grab it as many as you can!

I think 'gorgeous' is the word for this fragrence. not grandma-ish and definitely not juvenile. very smooth and alluring. I'm not an amber person, and also not a fan of strong patchouli and musk. but the formulation of these notes are so good, they don't get overwhelming at all. finished one bottle, definitely going to purchase the second one.

The vintage version is the most grown up super femme scent I've ever laid my nose on. Lipstick, gold jewelry, and an "I'm past 35 and I don't care what you think about me" are mandatory. The musks are completely different from the modern versions and blend in a strong sexy way with one's skin.

I got this from my boyfriend as a gift and I love it!!! It's a soft spicy that smells little bit soapy in my nose (probably because of patchouli) with a hint of warm orange in dry down. It smells elegant, laidback, feminine, and perfect for night out. Too bad it doesn't last long in my skin.

Very nice and nostalgic,,, reminds me so much of covid era i used to apply a drop of it on my mask and go out. I didn’t repurchase it after it ran out and even forgot about it. But then I stumbled upon it at the store last night and the nostalgia hit me like a wave. Such a powerful feeling.

The best creation Gucci have ever made! This scent is so chic and deep and develops in a slow manner. It has an Italian, French and oriental DNA, all at once! And you can sense it straight from the opening. If you know anything in the market similar to this masterpiece please let me know. 💕

I used to use this fragrance when i was 19 . My mom bought me this and i immediately fall in love. This is was my Chanel Smells expensive and clean . I remember my friends keep saying to me that I smell like a baby powder but in a good way . So sad that I can’t find it anywhere

This was my signature scent for about 6 years, it's classy and bright and zesty. I had a rough couple of things happen during those years so I might get another bottle and try to reclaim the scent. Definitely a favorite, I wore it everywhere perfect for nights out and work etc.

This is literally the best ever fragrance I ever had. While spraying it feels like you are falling to the endless alley full of beautiful threes. It lasts forever both on skin and clothes. This is such a shame it has been discontinued as it used to be my signature fragrance.

I HATE the soapy opening ! I simply hate it! Sometimes I put it on and when I get past the opening , I'm like ... Ooh nice! Other times like today, it's just irritating ! I don't get patchouli at all. That would be the salvation for this perfume. I get soap. Musk. Yuck.

I love this perfume. I get a nice juicy peach opening which dries down to such a lovely scent on me. I find this is an easy fragrance for me to reach for when I want something a little sexier and warmer for the cooler months. I think it’s worth getting a sample of!

When it starts getting balmy in Texas and I'm wearing this to the club please hide your partners I will be too sexy. Sexy metal smell mix with sweat mmmmmm. Also smells like my cool fun aunt meeting us for tex-mex and I'm going to be allowed to order margaritas.

Feminine floral with some amber and woody undertones . When I wore it I had a man who was three tables across in Starbucks ask me what I was wearing and he wanted to buy it for his girlfriend . This version of the Gucci guilty I believe has been discontinued .

This is my signature. I’m obsessed with Gucci Guilty! I always get compliments, no matter when or where I’m wearing it. I’ve layered it with a few different perfumes but honestly my favorite mixed with this one is Ariana Grande’s Cloud. *chefs kiss*

I really like this perfume. The pink pepper is present but not too intense and the dry down is a subtle lilac peach. It doesn't last very long but it's been my favourite blind buy so far. I wouldn't say it's sexy but it's getting there.

A truly incomparable scent. I love that it’s called guilty, sounds sexy, yet still classy and mischievous. It contains pink pepper, which gives it that little bit (but not too much) spice. A really pretty, classy looking bottle too.

There is a unique, warm depth in this fragrance. Smells like home, a hug, soft cashmere sweater, falling leaves during October. Its very unique. One of a kind.

Very clean girl freshie. Pair this with the body lotion for longevity. Perfect inoffensive day scent, good for the office, gym.

One of My favorite creations of Gucci!

I initially added this during the summer months and it was just a "like" for me. In fall, I'm re-evaluating and rotating in some fragrances specifically for fall vibes. Because I lean so hard into Bergamot and citrus notes, it's harder for me to find heavier, fall-like scents I like on my body. I also HATE vanilla and dislike most powdery and ozonic notes on my skin as they dry down. This is one of only a couple of scents with vanilla that will remain in my likes. The patchouli, musk, and amber balance it so it just gives the scent body and not "hi! We're in a bakery!" vanilla flavor. And the powdery note others mention is not prominent on my skin, particularly in this cooler weather. I get that pink pepper blast to start which I LOVE, btw, but it settles down in under 30 minutes. The floral trail is perfectly balanced by the black currant, and the dry-down doesn't veer too fruity or too floral. I'm in love. I'm still testing longevity with the bottle I purchased from someone who pre-sprayed about half their bottle on EBay, so I'll be interested to see. This just might become a fall staple for me. If it has staying powder, it might go into the "love" category!

I got this sample a few years ago and wasn't really sure what to think. But it's grown on me. I find this scent very sophisticated, and I mostly get notes of spices and light florals (I also get anise and rose, which aren't listed so not sure where that's coming from). I don't get any fruits or vanilla. I think this is a great scent that can be worn both in the office and on a date, so it's very versatile. I prefer the EDT to the EDP, the parfum tends to smell really strong and spicy, almost like black licorice, which I'm not a huge fan of. EDT still has that licorice quality, but only on initial spray. I usually only spray this once when I use it, but I can smell it all day, so I would say it's pretty long-lasting. I tend to prefer my scents close to the skin, hence why I only do one spritz, but I don't think this fragrance is too strong for 2+ if you wanted more projection.

A hot smell. Something one would wear in the evening to feel sexy. I could be wearing barely anything in a cold room and the smell would warm my whole body. I could feel blood rush to my skin. Invigorating. Intense but surprisingly not headache inducing, rather the opposite. Sharpens my senses. This is why it's great for mornings too, like coffee. Empowering, makes one ready to face the world, not escape from it like some other fragrances. It's meant to be personal, not smelled by everyone around you. A confident person doesn't need everyone around them to know what they're wearing. If it was stronger it would be way too potent. I suppose they called it Guilty to emphasize the indulgence, like chocolate. It is sweet, it's smell is well defined by all these reviews. And yes, it does smell expensive, like essential oils not chemicals and very well balanced.

Today I am enjoying this scent from my sample. It has a winning musky-ambery projection that carry lilac and jasmin. It is quite substantial and enveloping but gentle. My new version edt bottle does not have this much power, neither does my old version bottle. Maybe because my skin is heated today after a shower. But the scent bubble is intense, clean, subtle and luxurious. I fell in love with this scent from this very sample and so far my bottles disappoint a bit in comparison. This is quintessential Gucci style. Rich, sensual, effortless. Perfect signature for the whole year and any occasion. 5 hours of radiating from my skin already, it only does not project during a walk. Strange that from my bottles it seems weaker in sillage. At 7 hour mark it was already just an afterscent, barely there, so it was not easing me into sleep.

Powdery with a tiny touch of sweetness and discreetly sexy/sensual. The silage is medium, people feel the cleanliness but they have to come quite close to actually smell the scent. It didn't have a Pampers effect on me and it lasts a very long time BUT...it is not an intense scent and i wouldn't wear it for a night out (except if i wanted to go unnoticed or noticed by someone who likes scents that are not overwhelming). It gives off a clean, feminine, luxurious vibe which is great for a day at work or in places where you just want to smell good without making a statement of your presence. I wear it all year round, usually on days when i can't decide which perfume i want to wear. Never had a bad comment on it but i never had really enthusiastic comments on it either.

This smells like the boss. She's not joking, and she's up there because she worked hard for it. She deserves it and she's telling everyone about it. She's independent, hard to please, and don't do relationships. Occasionally she does hook-ups but that's it. She's an only child, parents abroad, and lives at the Penthouse. She spends her holidays in Europe and doesn't come back to work until a week later. But she's the boss so nobody minds. She books the best hotels and dines at the best restaurants. She knows everybody from everybody and doesn't get no for an answer. But although she's all of this, I sense a tinge of sadness. Underneath it all, the glamorous and luxurious lifestyle, she just seeks love from everyone around her. PS. Grandest bottle ever.

I got a sample and it's my first time smelling this. Or is it?? My first impression was, oh yeah...I recognize this right away. I've smelled it in the department store air while out shopping. The first note I'm getting is the lilac, and it's a lovely lovely lilac. The patchouli and jasmine join in a few moments later and now it's giving me Coco Mademoselle vibes. But the patchouli isn't making my nose itch as much as the patchouli in Coco Mademoiselle. This strikes me as a "fancy" perfume to wear when you're feeling sexy and confident, when you want to get noticed, for a date or a night out, or an important work meeting or conference when you want your confidence to shine. Very feminine. NOT discontinued to the best of my knowledge!
