Gucci Rush 2

This reminds me of that "Valérian et la Cité des mille planètes" scene (the only scene from the movie which I remember) where the two main characters are bickering on the beach over a cocktail and then later it turns out that the beach was just a simulation projected over walls of a sterile white room. Of palm trees planted in corridors of malls' luxury sections. Spreading a towel to suntan on Dubai's coast with oil rigs before you and unfinished skyscrapers behind. I was once caught by a downpour in a middle of a walk through Singapore's National Orchid garden, waiting for the rain to end in one of its white-glass greenhouses -- Rush 2 makes me think of that. It's cooling, green, behaves well in humidity. For some reason it doesn't remind me of air refreshers as 2000s aquatics usually do. Is it the bitterness? Lack of citruses? Whatever it is, other aquatics don't really inspire me, but I would love to spend a season somewhere like Taipei or Sydney or any other warm seaside metropolis with pair of vintage Dior ski-mask sunglasses and a 75 ml bottle of Rush 2. Rush 2 is reminiscent of OG Gucci Rush as it had inherited its predecessor's unashamed artificiality, that light sweetness of cheap plastic but it is very different in its mood. Rush (an eternal love of mine) is pointedly pessimistic, stuck in a melancholy it doesn't want to be taken out of. It sits alone on a tiled floor of a bathroom in one of those abandoned industrial buildings turned night clubs, gone a little mad, mumbling Baudelaire to itself as people step over its legs: l'Espoir, Vaincu, pleure... Rush 2? For some reason the start of R2 clicks play on the Azealia Banks' "Count Contessa" in my head. R2 is more like: "The world is ending? Okay, fine, whatever. Bring out your swimsuit skin, we are switching the server's ambiance to Fiji."

I have just written my impression on the GR 1. I was so afraid to smell the GR 2. If you know the flankers, you know they usually change few notes, but it is still the same DNA. LUCKILY, not with this one. While I have a bit repulsive relationship with the 1, 2 was love at first sniff. Aaaand.... I am going against the crowd again 😁 Repeatedly I am shocked at the reviews. GR is certainly NOT the younger sister of GR 1. On the contrary. They are not even at one family. To me, this is completely different fragrance. The notes are blended seamlessly. Yes, I smell berries, but not in a juvenile, teenagery, simplistic way, like perfumes in a drugstore 👎They are deep, dark, mature and have a distinct elegant undertone. I can smell a note that I can't name, which reminds me of those very sophisticated perfumes from my childhood. Somewhere around the 80-s. It brings me happy memories. I think my Mum used to smell like that note - maybe it was the formulation of her face creams. And I haven't smelled that note since then. (Sidenote: I do not understand why has perfumery changed so much. Those scents in the 80-s were so good!) Well, this is another great example that notes do not give you much clue. Go and sniff it for yourself. And no offence to Fragrantica reviewers, but you can discover that you can totally rely only on your own nose. Because you can be like me, the White Raven😉

I first wore this perfume back in 2003 and immediately fell in love. I had never been so drawn to a perfume before. It is perfect. I wish I could describe it better in words but it's one of those fragrances that doesnt have one major note that sticks out, at least to me. At first spray and for several hours later it smells the same, and then it wears off to a light musk. To me there is something watery about the scent, like freshly watered leaves and flowers. I don't get the black currant at all. I mainly sense a presence of palm and narcissus. There is nothing sweet about this fragrance, it is fresh but not in a citrus way, and floral, but not in the typical sense of floral. It's like I said, watery floral. It is just divine. I want to buy multiple backups so that I know I will always have this. It is such a unique fragrance, and every time I catch whiffs of it throughout the day, it just makes me love it all over again. I would say it is more of a spring/summer day time scent for everyday.

Dear GUCCI: PLEASE do not discontinue this scent as well like you did with the original Envy some time back (big mistake!). The combination of notes in this look distinctive and the (plastic I know!) bottle is simple yet alluring. I have yet to own this scent but the few people who own it LOVE this fragrance and is often considered as a fresher alternative to the original Rush (far too popular!). I plan on making this fragrance my next signature as this fragrance is also very hard to find in my country so I will smell unique (as I am truly a unique person!). Edit: I managed to score a small bottle of this at tkmaxx for about 27% of the retail price and the scent exceeded my expectations! I kept having to smell my shirt after I had sprayed this 3 times! This scent is indeed unique! Now I just want more! I have to keep looking where to find bigger bottles of this in order to keep my supply high!

I originally found this perfume in 2002 on a cruise ship. I was 20 at the time and I fell head over heels in love with it. I have since purchased half a dozen bottles even though it has long been discontinued. My last OG bottle has gone bad, sadly, but I am keeping it for sentimental reasons. I have since found a good quality fragrance oil dupe and have been wearing the heck out of it recently. Compliments galore. I get an instant mood lift when I wear it. Bright, cheery, fresh and watery. This is one of those perfumes where I cannot detect any of the notes individually but I just know that I'm in love with how it smells. I've never found another fragrance quite like it, so if anyone knows something that is remotely similar, please DM me! I will continue to use the fragrance oil dupe but would love to continue exploring other options.

My all-time favorite perfume, and I can’t express how disappointed I am that it’s no longer available. I’ve been searching for a similar perfume for ages, but I really dislike every new perfume I’ve tried. This one was so sexy, so clean, so pure, so light, and yet noticeable at the same time! It highlighted the best features of everyone who wore it and made you feel unique. Today’s perfumes can’t even come close to Gucci Rush 2. Yes, I tried the dupe from Éclat, and it’s very close—a very good dupe (I still have the original and can compare them). However, it gave me a terrible headache, so I’m too afraid to use it. Also, the dry-down is different from the original. So please, if you know something very similar to this, share it! Or let’s start a petition to Gucci to bring it back.

I'm so happy to have found Gucci Rush 2. I even had a man say that this "smells like me", which is one of the highest compliments I have ever received for a perfume :) About the scent, I find this so be so spring-like and charming. Beautiful, bright and fresh freesias, lightly spritzed with water, with a tinge of green from the palm leaf and anchored by that woody-musk base. Something slightly creamy often appears on my skin at times, too. I love how this is never too sharp or overpowering, which makes this effortlessly chic to wear at anytime and anywhere. I often wear this one to work. Longevity is for about 5-6 hours on my skin; sillage is soft to moderate :)

Gucci... women really love this perfume...let us have her back! The scent memories with this perfume are now part of my DNA if that's even possible. Honor the magnificent perfumer Michel Almairac's creation so she lives again. Gucci Rush just isn't my love like "2". I search for the best deals I can find on the last inventory to be had. The price people are asking for her now is outrageous. I still manage to find a fantastic deal on occasion. I've worn her since the first release. I will hunt her down as long as I can. I never want to be without my Gucci Rush 2. When I smell it on myself, I think ...this is so me & I can't help but smile...❤️

I think this is one of the most unique combinations I ever smelled (or was... as it seems to be less and less available) I can not compare it really to anything else. The feeling it gives you is slightly similar to Gucci Envy, but the smell is much more subtle and creamy especially in the drydown. I love how the green and the white floral notes work together. It changes a lot along the way. I normally don't really like lily of the valley, but in here its totally fine it goes away soon in the beginning and it is not overused.

The scent of spring,trapped in a bottle...Real freesias,not the common ones found in gardens,but the wild ones that grow in the countryside all by themselves,the ones that are always yellowish white.The note of narcissus is present,but subtle and polite...My signature scent since 2003,and still adore it!Works miracles with my skin chemistry,always present,never loud or offensive.Lots of compliments,people ask me what perfume I am wearing again and again...

complete opposite to rush 1..this one is the cleanest, freshest smell. in love with it..reminds me of the discontinued Nina..Not the one they came up with in a red bottle..The Nina I absolutely loved was a white bottle (not glass) with birds embossed on it..and it was just amazingly clean scent..I even called Paris to find out it they really had stopped making it..they said they did..BUT this one is the closest to that one!

This is the closest I've found to the scent of narcissus which is the crispest floral aroma I've encountered (although freesia is also dominant here). Smells like the wind on a spring meadow or like the skin after a refreshing shower. Floral perfumes are rarely so fresh without citruses but this one is. It's invigorating and cooling. I do appreciate the contemporary and minimalist bottle and I think it suits the scent.

An old time favorite of mine. After a couple of years i have purchased a big bottle of this perfume which i love so much. It ́s a very fresh, flowery and a little sweet kind of smell with some spice in it. It ́s very long lasting and one of a kind. The smell is very unique in a good way and stands out in the crowd. Although it ́s an unusual smell it will not offend any one because it ́s very soft and cozy. A big love

This perfume reminds me of living in Manhattan and enjoying it’s crazy energy and atmosphere 🔥 I often received compliments of my perfume back then and it was always Gucci Rush II. I didn’t like the Rush I, it was too sweet and obnoxious. Rush II was feminine and sensitive, sweet white flowers, jasmine. It was very sparkly and festive like wearing pink champagne. I wonder if I can find it now...

Love this little pink sister to the original. Gucci Rush 2 has the same kind of medical/metallic dna like the original which I am a big fan of. I adore the fresia, blackcurrant, lily-of-the-valley and oakmoss. So delightful, uplifting and cheeky at the same time. One of the scents I hope I will always have in my collection. Beautiful scent ! Longevity and silage is about moderate on me.

I was having a coffee at a little independent cafe on Bedford St. in Brooklyn back in 2006 and a woman sat down at the table next to me. She smelled so beautiful that I just had to ask her what she was wearing. "Gucci Rush 2" she told me. I can't remember what she looked like, but based on how she smelled, I think it was either Giselle or Lara Stone ; ) Promptly bought it for my wife.

Ovaj parfem na meni je imao magična svojstva, da divno mi je mirisao na prvu i odmah sam postala ponosni vlasnik, ali ono kako sam ja drugim mirisala učinilo ga je top parfemom u mojoj kolekciji, dok nije nestao sa polica... Slučajni prolaznici i ne znanci su mi znali spontano na ulici reći kako mirišem neobično prelijepo, očaravajuće i sl. Zamjenu mu još nisam pronašla...

I bought this perfume in 2007. Wear it only on special occassion and now it almost out of bottle. Just worn it a bit of spray on my wrist to avoid smelled too strong which i dont like and it stays for 6 hrs or longer if i apply more. Even sometimes i could still smell it on the next day. It has floral scent and i just fell it has fresh image scent.

For me this is the best of Gucci ever. Perfect both for rainy summer days or for snowy blizzards - every kind of weather brings out the magic of it, only in different ways. It could be a bit stronger and last longer but ok - I guess that's just a part of the game, that you need to come closer to be able to feel the rush... Rush 2.

My rating is for the 2001 edition - the reformulation has destroyed that warm, sweet freshly-showered memory. My signature scent early 2000's ( and Volupte -Paco Rabanne) - can't count the number of ladies who bought Rush 2 after I began using it...& men loved it! Why do they discontinue or ruin these beauties! ...why? ...sigh...
