Made to Measure

Now for a totally positive review!!!! Gucci Made to Measure was purchased by me in a fully packaged mini format. I kept returning to it, and just bought a full-sized bottle. Let's start with the outside: The packaging is so elegant. The bottle is HEAVY glass with thick seams. I like glass. I am an Anchor-Hocking groupie, vintage hobnail goblets. I believe glass is very practical. This bottle is weighted in quality. This heft feels so good in the hands, it almost is soothing. The top is described in the literature as hand finished. It is a beautiful satin-finish brushed pale, pale gold. It is some kind of metal. Lid has very broad shoulders and rests with great solidity on the bottle. The classic ring or stirrup allows you to pull the top off with a nice crisp click from the lid. ( Not magnetic, just a nice fit--they got it completely right. ) What a great ritual it is to reach for Gucci Made to Measure Pour Homme. The juice itself is clear with a very unusual hint of gray. Is it the glass of the bottle? The atomizer is A+ very much like those on my beloved Dunhill. The scent: Fastest open I have seen. You pick up the Lavender and maybe the Anise. I think the Lavender is just wonderful. Some orange in the drifting scent. It quickly moves into what seems like the Juniper Berries. I love Juniper Berries and it is a listed note. I think Juniper Berries is often mishandled, but not here. As for Plum it seems like it is easily overwhelmed, like my experience with Pear. Anyway, I do not really detect the Plum. In the final dry-down with my nose right up close it is strange. Is it Water Lily? Some kind of melon scent. Not a scent, a suggestion more like. Aside:This is the kind of magic I love about fragrance. Roja, Ohrmonde Jane are just a few that do 'suggestion fragrance'. I don't mind a good knock on the head from Juicy Couture Dirty English. (Very interesting note profile.) So you don't have to walk softly around me at all times. That is why building a broad assortment of fragrance is so much fun. Great credit to Gucci in its blending of Leather, Patchouli, Amber. It is really neat. . .it is giving the scent what I call a 'fullness' and kind solid base of not-so-sweet. Really you just feel it all--not in isolation of scent. This scent moves very quickly to a close, intimate scent. Conceived in 2013, I think it is a new direction here in 2021; well-conceived, strategic; a going for lots- of-love blend. Aside: I think that some of these new houses are going to 'niche' themselves into total obscurity. Gucci is designer, but who cares? We are talking about an illustrious house. They know how to do it. I am a total Gucci fan boy, yet I don't recklessly buy all of them. Money, you know. This is a 'just for you' kind of scent--like the name--'Made to Measure' One of my all time favorites. Wear it for yourself, and those close to you--literally-- will more than likely love its fresh, sophisticated and delicate scent. In closing, it felt good to not write a gripey review as it is fun to be positive. Well, heck, they got it superbly right.. so.

I think it's great! In fact, it's one of my favorites from this house. One important thing: You need to try this on skin. When I first tried it on paper, it didn't really impress me. I could barely smell it, the entire thing reminded me of paper/papyrus and it was rather boring, light and I couldn't imagine it to last very long. So, at an airport I decided to spray myself with it and proceed with the day. It evolves great - so good that it's now on top of my wishlist. It's a little sweet but not cloying or heavy at all. It's still somewhat light, has that generic vibe to it but it smells really refined and well blended at the same time! I tried it in many different conditions and they all worked great. Australian Summer? No problem. Winter in New Zealand? Still works well. My girlfriend could notice it on me after an 8 hour flight, so I think that's pretty good! Of course I wasn't walking around a lot in the plane but it's still impressive for such a light scent. Prices are cheap for this one and I don't see it very often, so I'm afraid it might get discontinued sometime soon.. time to get a bottle of this! I was shocked to see so many negative reviews because honestly.. it's not that bad!

This initially smells like Hugo Boss Hugo Man but less synthetic. My first impression is that this is a fragrance that is hard to dislike, which is confusing when I read the negative reviews. Personally I find this fragrance easy to wear, yes it's somewhat generic but I personally can't dislike the fragrance based on the fact it reminds me of other fragrances out there. However I'm pretty sure this does not smell like any fragrances in my collection so it's a welcome addition. It's light and sweet on the opening, there is definitely a fruity/floral note which brings some freshness to the scent. It does evolve to a slightly warmer scent as time goes by which for me makes this scent more suitable for warm/cool days (Spring/Fall). It might be too much for very hot days, however you could wear this during summer nights. I've had more positive impressions from women than men, which makes me think that the fragrance is designed to appeal to the opposite sex. It's not a performance monster and does not shout, but it's an amazing safe clean scent to wear on most occasions. Overall I rate this one a 7/10, definitely worth a try and by no means a bad fragrance as others are pointing it out to be.

This perfume is really surprising! To my nose it is extremely well balanced: the right combination of citrus opening, sweet flowery heart (nevertheless decisively masculine) and amber-leather base notes. I decided to try it on at the store because from the card tester I couldn't recognize any distinctive note. I sprayed it on my neck and on one wrist and I could not refrain from bringing my arm to my nose to go for the next fix. I don't understand how one may call it anything other that classy and sophisticated. Walking in the bubble of Gucci MTM made me feel like I was finally wearing something that suited me perfectly, I didn't have any of those "maybe it's a little too much" uncomfortable thoughts. As the evening progressed I received a few compliments from different girls and one insistently kept reaching for my neck saying the scent was just "mmmmmmmmmm!". It doesn't project much, which is something I actually look for in a fragrance. It lasts approximately 6 hours after which only the amber will remain on your skin, making you smell like the neck of a very beautiful, confident, blonde and sexually voracious high school classmate of mine called Maya. ---9/10---

What a great fragrance this is! Gucci has never disappointed me! It's more of a late night summer and autumn kind of fragrance. Great for formal evenings and nights. It's definitely on a sweet almost gourmand side. You can detect almost any note of it if you will be patient. But the main notes anyone can feel are flowers with some fruit nuances and spices with a dab of a leather. It's a great addition to a Gucci Premier line for women. You will certainly feel some class and sophistication while wearing this fragrance. It's not generic or synthetic in any way! All ingredients are of a very good quality. And one more thing, it has some Los Angeles (Hollywood) vibes to it, if you know what I mean. :) Longevity is about 8 hours plus. Projection is heavy in first 2-4 hours, then it becomes moderate. I highly recommend this fragrance for those who love the quality and sophistication! P.S. Thumbs up for Nicolas Winding Refn, James Franco and the whole advertising campaign!

I can never give Gucci MTM a fair and objective review, as it has linked to some intimate memories. I remember enjoying it on my crush neck/shoulder when we sat quietly in a coffee shop, and, then, when I hugged him from behind. At that moment, MTM became the best fragrance ever in existence for me. With all that distant memories removed, as well as the fact that my nose has got to know so many fragrances ever since, I came back to MTM to give it some less biased judgement. This is definitely a very pleasant scent, yet nothing special about it. The notes are too blended, and none can be discernibly appreciated. I guess it'd better stay as a memory. EDIT: So anyway, coming back to this scent after a couple of year, and with all the memories removed, I can say that I can enjoy this scent a lot more than when I made this comment. It has this subtle appeal that makes you want to reach closer to the person wearing this and just take a sniff. Very positive.

Gucci Guilty Pour Homme + Gucci Pour Homme II = Gucci Made to Measure. Ok lets talk about Gucci Made to Measure... This stuff opening similar to Gucci Guilty 30 minutes later smell like Gucci PH2. I smell more Lavander, Cinnamon and Amber. I think this stuff smell like really Gucci PH2 but lighter version. A little bit smell like Prada Luna Rossa but a little bit.. Ok Gucci Made to Measure heavy,fresh and very aromatic scent. Wearable all seasons. 6 Hours stay on my skin. I like this stuff but when I buy Gucci definitely buy Gucci Pour Homme 2 because PH2 still best gucci fragrance. Gucci why use same bottle I don't understand.. I think this stuff office scent but ı don't use this fragrancebecause smell so cheap.. Smell: 3/10 Lasting: 6/10 Longevity: 5-6 hours

A great scent, and seems to be a step in the right direction for the Gucci house after the less than desirable Gucci Guilty series. Definitely heavy lavender scent, but the inclusion of plum and lotus flower sweeten things a bit. Cinnamon, nutmeg and juniper berry offer a degree of spiciness, but are well blended. Lastly a warm leather accord rounds out the base offering depth and comfort. I consider this a modern aromatic fougere. Unfortunately this does smell rather commercial/pedestrian and I do not smell anything earth shatteringly inventive here. Despite it all, I predict Made to Measure will be popular amongst consumers. I gifted this to my dad 10 years ago n I just found 90% full bottle in his cupboard today. He says it's special and he only uses it for refined events. I remember it was light purple like shown in the above pic but now it has turned kind of dark transparent green! It smells super refined and mass appealing at the same time and what I smell is slightly sweet mouth watering fruit, spicy anise and transparent watery flower. It's something that nobody's wearing and I love that. The fragrance has drastically changed in a good way though over the decade so my review may be totally irrelevant to how your bottle smells.

This fragrance has a rather spicy output, but also is notorious lavender, quite used lately in many of the Gucci men's fragrances. What I like about this fragrance is drying her rather masculine, I think what stands out is amber notes. It has very low projection, if you will have to notice her overcoat and longevity is also very weak, it shows skin flush. It reminds me of some other fragrance I've already smelled, but I do not remember. If the fragrance had the best longevity could appreciate more. Very nice bottle and very good publicity with the charismatic James Franco

This fragrance does not deserve all of the negativity. It may not be the strongest scent. But the smell is very pleasant and intriguing. I bought it in spite of the negative comments because I thought the scent notes sounded interesting. I was not disappointed. The scent is not very strong, and doesn't project very far. But the subtle wafts of the scent while wearing it are very pleasing. I enjoy the fact that I cannot smell it so intensely because this means that I enjoy the scent longer instead of going scent blind shortly after applying it.

I have a ten years old batch if this frag and I don't remember its initial performance quite well, but it now stays on me for the entire day and smells heavenly and elegant. I wore it often with my ex gf, which is the reason I wouldn't be using it with my wife, as I feel it a kind of cheating, but sometimes I catch myself sniffing at the cap for no reason. Can't sell it, but can't wear it in the same time, as it draws painful recollections. 3.5 is absolutely embarrassing for the quality of the perfume.

I have all the accessories from this cologne, and besides the negative reviews, it will remain in my top shelves, and I will keep the frame I did with "James Franco" being the face of this cologne hanging from one of the wallS in my bedroom. This is a very subtle fragrance but very enjoyable for me, I love the shaving gel, it gives a very pleasant shaving experience and leaves the skin vey smooth and with the nice essence from the cologne. Well, haters will be haters, but we lovers don't care.

I'm surprised at the number of dislikes on this one. I've been wearing this for a couple of weeks now and really love it. I'm a fifty year old man and perhaps my tastes run a bit more reserved than the younger guys and this one finds the sweet spot between sillage and understatement. I get a good 6 hours with it. This is a well balanced, classy fragrance that, like a blue blazer, can be worn anytime of the year in any setting.

Of all the scents I have, the reviews for this one shock me the most. It's not my signature scent or anything, but I absolutely love this fragrance. As another reviewer mentioned, I guess this one reacts rather capriciously to different skin types, and seems to suit mine perfectly. I've had several compliments from both guys and girls at work. A sure fire welcome addition to my slowly but surely expanding collection.

Not sure why there are so many negative reviews for this? Made to measure is one of my favourites. In my opinion it's directed more for under 25s, like myself. This was one of the first fragrances I purchased and I have so many memories and compliments from it which might be why I'm so attached to it. If you like it, don't let these people put you off it. It's supposed to compliment you, not anyone else.

When I first smelled it right away I said this is for warm weather. I wore it during the summer and I didn't like it at all. The performance was so weak. Then just because I wanted it to be finished so i could get raid of it , I started to wear it also in the cold weather. To my surprise I really loved it in the cold weather.

My wedding perfume. Blind brought about 2 months before the day and didn’t smell it at all until a couple of hours before seeing my wife to be. All I can say is it added extra perfection to the day. It’s fresh, floral and light. Deserves a lot more respect. I’m glad it’s not so popular though all the more for me

This is a very lovely fragrance. Beautiful smell. It's very strong and extremely sweet. I wish it was less sweet. The spice notes come through fine; it smells quite powdery. I like it. It's not for every setting though; it can be cloying in the summer especially if you overspray. 8/10

Why so many dislikes on this fragrance...? it’s a really beautiful light scent certainly something I love reaching for on my dresser in my collection. Surprisingly my more recent bottle ‘2020 batch’ seems stronger than I’ve previously had in the past. This is a very romantic scent x.

Gucci Made To Measure is sophisticated and elegant. I love the citrus notes and I can smell the anise, plumb and patchouli in the dry down. This fragrance can be worn either in the day or night. It's great for the hot summer months. It lasts a good 6-7 hours on me.

Today I took a sniff of Gucci MTM for memory's sake (it was connected to someone I used to love passionately). It still smelt so nice just how I remembered it. While the projection is weak, MTM is wonderful as a skin scent.

Trust me on this one, just give it a chance... I started not liking this fragrance just as a lot of people around here, but after using it for a week now, I think It's actually very good. 8/10

Why are you guys so ruthless to this fragrance?I think this is a very good quality fragrance.Ok that's not so longetive but 2-3 hours should be enough.So my opinion about this fragrance 8/10.

I love it despite the negative comments on here regarding this perfume. Stays very long on my skin. Get plenty of compliments with just two sprays.

I spray so rarely now as to conserve the juice...the clean linen vibe should come back and they should re launch this.

I am quite suprised at how many haters there are. I can only imagine that there are a lot of people who are looking for a scent that is EASY to like or something that is trending. I think people are automatically taking the easy route by hating it instead of trying to contemplate a deeper understanding of the scent itself. For example: Gucci Made To Measure has introduced Water Lilly as one of the notes in a Mens Perfume. I looked at all the other perfumes by Gucci on this website and this is the first instance that they have done this. I don't know what the ratio is in regards to how much Water Lilly is used, but I can say with certainty that I can detect something in THIS Gucci perfume that I haven't experienced in any of their other fragrances. I believe this to be the Water Lilly. I think that this is a lovely fragrance. Made To Measure is NOT a fragrance with a bang that gets everyones attention... but maybe that is the point. My main point is that when it comes to perfume, much like Painting, Music, Sculpture; the Arts: it is a critic's responsibility to put in some consideration of why the artist or designer made, whatever it is they made, the way they made it. I know I personally don't know NEARLY as much as a perfumer does in regards to scent so already my judgements and criticisms have little to no weight to them. But what is important is that I am TRYING to understand the creators intent and desire for the piece that I am experiencing. I don't mean to be preachy but it felt necessary to share that with everyone.

Let me say that this is a normal fragrance its not groundbreaking but its comfy just to wear when you go to college or the office the smell its sweet but light if you are looking for something turn down sweet of One Million or Eros, its the only one of Gucci that I really like I just discovered that the plum also is one of my favorite notes and I can feel it well blended with the Ambar note, I was waiting to buy when the price down, and yes after 3 years I just get a 5 oz bottle for $950 mx pesos with taxes (like $50 usd) I'm glad I get the bigger bottle because it will be my summer scent to work, I use Angel edt in spring but right now with the heat I get a super scent of chocolate and it gets so suffocating; I was looking for something with good smell nice clean and with a vibe of classy but not to use the same as almost everyone in the city (Boss Bottle, Acqua di Gio, D&G) my other option was Savage by Dior, but I think Ill buy it later when I can get a better price. The Longevity that I get is 8 hours the first 3 with a great (normal) projection and then it goes to the skin, like a bodycream with good projection. What really surprise me is that I get compliments from ladies and girls who ask what I'm wearing i tought it gets so mainstream that it doesn't stand out but I was wrong with that I think its good for a Dinner or Dates for reasons more personals but Ill use it like a casual scent, go to mall or the supermarket with sunglasses in this summer. I give it a 7 and Ill enjoy my purchase.

First and Foremost Gucci Made To Measure's bottle is top notch, it was what initially drew me in to test this fragrance out. The First blast of MTM was somewhat astringent and assaulting to my nose, but within a minute I got this vaguely familiar strangely deja Vu feeling, I left it on my arm and went to test other fumes to see what will become my next purchase. As I walk passed the Diesel aisle it hits me, I grab Only The Brave and spray it on me, and lo and behold there I have the same scent on different wrists, and coming from 2 different bottles. I was a fan of Only The Brave a while ago I've been through 2 bottles before I got tired of it and moved on, so Gucci MTM was this blast from the not so distant past, but dressed up in a fancier, more elegant bottle, but that's as far as it goes. MTM does have a slightly more sophisticated quality to it, almost like only the brave slipped into a suit for a black tie event, and toned himself way way down to blend in. Made to Measure is not really a bad scent, but its been done before so it can easily be called Generic and Unoriginal. Its Longevity is around 6 hours and projection is very close to skin. (I asked for a few testers of MTM, along with my purchase of A*Men to warm me up this winter, which now takes me to going through 6 bottles of A*Men), if further testing prove this can be a purchase then I just may consider getting Gucci Made To Measure, but for now I'll give Gucci MTM a 6.5 out of 10.

I have a slightly better opinion on this scent than most it would seem. Probably due to the fact that I got a 90ml for about 1/4 the retail price and had read a ton of negative reviews before ever trying it. So my expectations were understandably low to begin with. I get a little of the sweet that everyone speaks of in this scent. But mostly I get this kind of a bitter/floral thing going on....very reminiscent of the same DNA in the Guilty line. Very linear and one dimensional to my nose, but still pleasant enough and something that I could see being a crowd pleaser. Longevity is very good on my skin, however the same cannot be said for projection. This scent is a sort of a "jack of all trades", but master of none. Yes, it's somewhat "generic cologne smell" and doesn't really do anything to set itself apart as a unique composition. But with that, also comes the ability to just grab and spray when you need a fragrance that will work in ANY situation and not offend/overpower those around you. So, that's something that my wardrobe could use, even if this juice doesn't really do much for me on a personal level. Smells good, people around me like it, lasts long, cheap price....and that's enough for me to give this one a pass.

Ok...I went and got a sample from Sephora because I have been interested in the scent for over a year now. My final verdict: this is an awesome fragrance (for me at least). Its not necessarily unique, but I can't think of a single thing that smells just like it and in this day and age, that's pretty successful. I realized the trick is to spray it close to the skin so that its less dispersed, and more potent at the point of attack (around my neck). It has been 6hrs and I can easily smell it without looking for it. It's very smooth and easy on the nose, and it's definitely nice enough to be worn in formal occasions. I would even say "signature". I can not speak for the sillage, but I'm assuming it isn't that strong (though within the first 2hr, my significant other could smell it from an arms length away). This one is made to fit like a tailored suit supposedly - for close quarters. In summation, I really like it though I acknowledge that it isn't groundbreaking. I would recommend it to anyone looking for a pleasant, fruity oriental that is masculine and modern. Its versatile while not being too casual.

Made to measure... this is actually quite good, hear me out. You will always have 2 types of reviewers; the extreme frag heads who will knock a scent because the transition to the base notes wasn't smooth enough or the bergamot is over used... you know the type. And then you have the frag head who appreciates a good scent, especially when ladies respond to it. I am the latter, I have a decent collection of Frags, shave soaps, aftershaves, you name it. So Gucci MtM... I first got this as a sample from Sephora before heading off to Austria for my honeymoon. My initial impressionot was that it smelled like a mature man's Gucci Guilty, but more refined and more "expensive." Immediately my wife loved the scent, so that's a win. Walking around Vienna, talking to people, this thing will get compliments. I do have memories attached to this Frag, so I of course like it a bit more, but ladies love this scent... and in the end that's the point!

Amazing smell, terrible performance. Been wearing this one since its launch in 2013. I've received many compliments while wearing this cologne, both from women and men. The lavender and leather are quite prominent, in my opinion, and combine for an appealing, subtle scent. The problem is this cologne is TOO subtle. Combine the subtly with the mixture having terrible performance (between 1 and 2 hours at its absolute best), and you get Made to Measure. I would personally avoid buying this unless you're totally drawn to the smell, plan on wearing it to bed or other short occasions, or if you're fine with reapplying it multiple times a day. Personally, I've been so drawn to the smell that this fragrance has stayed in my collection. Can't stress enough how bad its performance is though, and I'd recommend avoiding it solely based on that.

Gucci Made To Measure is a nice light but weak summer mens fragrance. Fresh, versatile, absolutely for hot weather, a decent scent for man and a safe choise. The longevity is about 5-6 hours and the sillage is moderate with 5-6 sprays. After 2 hours though, it stays close to the skin. The most distinguished notes I get are bergamont, plum, juniper berries, but I do not get so strong lavender, it is very-very weak as the rest of the notes listed above. I like it, nothing unique but very versatile for any case in hot weather. The design of the bottle is magnificent! I do not get the negative reviews or the nostalgy for other different Gucci scents. We are here to talk about only for "Made To Measure". And it is quite a decent summer scent!

I think this fragrance gets a bad reputation because its been introduced in a world where the expectation for "projection" is something that is very effusive, capable of drawing others in from an arm's length away. This is not THAT kind of fragrance. Its was designed to smell like the fit of a well tailored suit - close to the skin. It has a VERY pleasant aroma that is smooth, well-blended and classy. My girlfriend loved this on a tester strip over 15-20 other colognes at Sephora. I sprayed it on my neck lightly, 3 squirts, and that lasted me over 10hrs of subtle, but always detectable to me, sillage. My girlfriend wasn't always aware of it, but when she leaned in, she could smell it. So yes - its light, but it lasts. Great smell.

I'm definitely picking up a high amount of negativity about this, and I don't really know why. I get that it's not amazing, but it's not like it's bad. I get the feeling that most negative reviews are because it's just too "blah", which I guess is why I bought it. I wanted something light, not too in your face, and decided this was a good choice for that. I'm, sadly, in an environment where fragrances, of any kind except a $3 aerosol can, aren't the norm, so I didn't want to overdo it. I see this as a really good fit for this situation. It smells good,and isn't too off the wall or in your face. Really good for everyday 9-5 situations.

Made a 360 on this one. At first try I liked it: generic but well executed. After having bought a small bottle, the weird and sharp top notes irritated me. Yesterday I tried it again and although still weird, I like it right now. The "weird" topnotes are also present in the new Gucci Pour Homme (same bottle, different colour). They are a bit synthetic and remind me of really cheap fake perfume you find on markets. However, once gotten used to it, it has something. Compared to Gucci Pour Homme, Gucci Made to Measure is a fresher and lighter alternative. Not too sweet, which I like, but still fruity. Ideal for at the gym. 7,5/10

I don't really get the dislikes on this one. It's very inoffensive, easy to wear, crowd pleaser. Well, it would be, if it projected better. That is my one issue with Made to Measure, as a scent, it doesn't really get past an arm's length. But because of that, I think it makes for quite a nice office scent. However, the price is a little too high for what a generic scent that doesn't project too well. I think there are much better office scents, at a lot lower prices. So for that reason, it's a 4/10 from me, unfortunately.

This is a very nice bright, somewhat zesty fruity smell. It's linear and stays pretty much the same from the moment you spray it on and when it disappears into the ether (approximately 2 hours lol). If you like this, be prepared to overspray and bring some to reapply. My dear mother bought this for me when I was in my mid 20s and I wore it to my brother's wedding, so it does have some personal sentimentality for me.

Should be called "made to pleasure" women love it. liked the gucci guilty fragrances & ive got the most compliments from them out of every fragrances I've had including ysl, dior & armani fragrances. Gucci made to pleasure is great & is a more refined dressed up & mature version of gucci guilty.

This was my very first fragrance purchase about 5 years ago. At the time I thought it was incredible, but my nose has definitely moved to more interesting smells since then. Doesn't last super long from my experience. It's a good, basic fragrance but nothing special really!

This will be a super short sweet review overall this isn't a bad scent per se, it just smells so generic like I smelled it before, && when I smelled it I even said this reminds me of something else...just boring nothing ground breaking, bit of a tosser really...

Hi folks. Just seen it and tested it . Like most of you already said it , it is ok. frag . Nothing special nor bad either, sort of office , day scent. Plesant , masculine and not offensive,Wouldn't reject it as a Christmas gift . 7 out of 10

This fragrance is not THAT bad. It's a very inoffensive fragrance, I personally think it will work well at work or a black tie party or something of that nature! Also I get a very strong resemblance to Givenchy Pour Homme Blue Label.
