Winter's Spring Eau de Parfum

This is the one I was looking for. I've always wanted a soft mimosa with a bit of creamy, powdery touch and this is it. I think the aesthetic of this perfume is extremely beautiful, combining the name, bottle and the fragrance into one. It opens up a bit watery, almost smelling like a sweet wet paper. The pepper in the note doesn't really stand out but exaggerates the wateriness of the perfume. The wateriness reminds me of the frost on the mimosa, which is said to be the first flower that blooms in spring. After the frost is melted, the real spring comes. Powdery, delicate, beautiful mimosa comes with creamy musk, blending perfectly with skin. It's bright spring but not overly bright. Rather, it's delicate, a bit still cold from winter. I admit that this is a soft skin scent. The projectivity is poor compared to its price. But still, it's one of the most gorgeous scent I've ever smelled and if you like a soft and creamy mimosa like me, you must try this.

This smells just like a mimosa flower in full-bloom on a summer's day! It's so beautiful and cheerful and it's a strongly yellow floral and decently sweet and slightly powdery and musky fragrance, just like the intoxicating scent from these little yellow puffs of joy. I can smell the slight honeyed almond smell that mimosas/acacia/wattle flowers have too in here. It's a lovely and linear day fragrance that can be worn in spring or summer and is very feminine and unique, but at the same time I think it's office appropriate and it wouldn't offend anyone. It's slightly expensive for what it is, but it does smell lovely and its bottle with the sweet little squirrel on the front is beautiful. I'll definitely buy this some time soon! I've been really hankering for a nice and realistic mimosa-dominant scent, considering that that's so rare unfortunately in perfumery. It's so much nicer than the awful and unrealistic smelling Love Mimosa by Amouage...

A true botanical Mimosa, one of my very favourite winter/ early spring flowers. I love "Une Fleur de Cassie" by F.M. but it I very intense, so this one here is a great 'pick me up' every day kind of scent: very botanical and true to origin so unisex for that reason in my book. I would imagine this to work extremely well layered with Penhaligon's 'Ostara' that these Spanish bastards from Puig decided to discontinue!! (unforgivable). I love the visuals of this collection and I think both GUCCI and COTY did a great job with this (although I find the pricing of the scented waters rather steep). Verdict: Good.

Beautiful smooth mimosa, not too dusty and the pepper is not too strong to my nose. This smells very niche to me. It's well made and I absolutely love it. Perfect for spring and summer.

Funnily enough, I was wearing Un Fleur de Cassie when I tested 'Winter's Spring', and yes, there is a resemblance. Very high quality then, but with more of a 'clean' scent, less animalic than the Frederic Malle - more delicate and I think feminine. As the concept of the Alchemist's Garden is of layering these pure perfumes with either an oil or floral water, I tried this with 'A Winter Melody' scented water, but actually I liked 'Winter's Spring' by itself more. I love the concept of these, I spent an enjoyable half hour in Edinburgh's Harvey Nicols with someone called Ryan who was enthusiastic and well informed (makes a change from orange-faced slightly vultury sales-people!). I managed not to drop my jaw too much when he explained the eau de parfum is about £200. It's clearly good quality, and as I mentioned in my other review about 'Eyes of the Tiger' from this series, I like Gucci's 'take' on these pure essences. I'm also tickled by the concept of alchemy and the Medievalist theme, especially as I'm steeped in study of all things Medieval just now as I'm painting a series inspired by Medieval cosmology. If Winter's Spring was a planet it would of course be Jupiter - early spring, as the cold Saturnine snow begins to melt. That time of year when you know within a few days that winter's finally on its way out though it's still chilly. I do like a green floral (faves are Baiser Vole, Hothouse Flower and of course Chanel 19), and my favourite time of year is spring, so this is a winner, but to my mind it's more for early spring and late winter. Very delicate, a whisper of warm soft floral under the green of spring mimosa.

Winter's Spring is a very simple composition built around mimosa, musk and a touch of pepper. Designed with layering in mind, it works beautifully on its own but can also serve as a soft, elegant base for other fragrances. The opening is all about fresh, dewy mimosa, evoking the scent of delicate yellow blossoms warmed by the first rays of spring sunshine. Within minutes, powdery musk emerges, lending the fragrance a clean, comforting quality, while a pinch of pepper adds just enough contrast to keep it from becoming overly soft. On my skin, longevity is around three hours with stays close to the skin. The overall impression is reminiscent of a high quality body lotion or luxurious skincare product, smooth and effortlessly comforting. It feels like slipping into a freshly laundered jumper on a cool morning.This is an excellent everyday fragrance, easy to wear, inoffensive and versatile. While the price is undeniably steep for such a minimalist composition, it is worth trying if you can find a sample or a partial bottle at a reasonable price.

Literally JUST MIMOSA! I love mimosa, so I don't have any issues with it, but keep that in mind. It is probably the most realistic mimosa you get out there. Very clean. Very luxurious. I find it very feminine, fragile, innocent. Sadly it does not have a strong projection. For this price tag I would expect more "work". As always, the bottle is gorgeous and elegant. Not for a hot, beach vacation day. Keep it for cooler and drier environment. I believe it is being discontinued. So grab a bottle if you still can.

Smell very clean yellow floral, soft subtle scent which can calm you. Projection is quite well and unexpectedly last amazingly well over 7 hrs in hot weather (over 34c). In the cool temperatures it last overnight. This one is a like from me ☺️

The most realistic mimosa I ever smelled . Little bit too powdery for no nose, but overall it’s a great perfume. This perfume would be perfect to wear in March.

Upon first applying a sample of this, it smells very grassy, but with a slight floral element. I assume this is the mimosa. This definitely smells like spring and very nature-y. Currently a week and a half into March, I thought it would be an appropriate time to try Winter's Spring, as we are in the transition period right now in Chicago moving out of winter into spring. Though to me, this smells very much like an established springtime scent, with grass, flowers, and sunshine, which is not what it looks like right now here at all with still some snow on the ground and no other greenery really and bare trees, but warming temperatures finally. So perhaps my location plays a part in when I'd think the time of year would match to this. I can also smell this within 5" of my skin strongly. 5 minutes later and it smells slightly less grassy, but with more of a delicate sweet slightly powdery yellow floral scent coming out. Both this scent and the grassy scent seem pretty realistic smelling. It's uplifting, joyful, clean, and hopeful coming out of winter for pretty, sunny, warmer spring days. It does smell more "botanical" and not really like a perfume unless you wanted to smell specifically like a flower/mimosa and no extra frills, but I do see that this says it's meant for layering. To which this would definitely lend a beautiful and realistic green floral scent. 10 minutes later and I can pick up a little bit more of the pepper, adding some warmth and energy to the mix. 20 minutes later and it still smells the same, but I smell it more within 2" of my skin. 30 minutes later and it's a skin scent. Not sure why there are so many votes for "enormous" sillage, unless there is really that much of a difference between a splash sample (that was still applied heavily) and spraying with an atomizer, but it was never that overwhelmingly large of a projection on me. I do also feel like it smells more like a fresh, clean, herbal lotion scent now, too. It's pretty sunny and positive feeling. I'll see how long this lasts. 2 hours later and it's fainter on the skin, but I also feel like it's gone more towards just an expensive "lotion" or "body milk" scent as well. It's now more creamy and fresh rather than green and floral. Though pulling back a bit, it does still smell like the absolute slightest hint of green floral in the air though if I move my arm or have it just near my face. 3.5 hours later and it's basically gone. At the 3 hour mark it already was nearly gone and I could only smell the slightest hint of it with my nose to my skin. A bit surprised at the $340 price point it only lasted about 3 hours. But I suppose it was a good realistic floral scent.

This perfume is very weak, no joke about it. On skin it had very subtle green floral note that came very quickly and disappeared in a flash. What’s left is a powdery Nivia scent that sticks extremely close to skin. You got to be sniffing directly at the spot to smell it. On clothing it performed better but still couldn’t get much from the double sprayed spot. Don’t know what mimosas smell like in life but if this is any indication, Nivia!

Comes off shakey. I wasn't sure if I'm getting authentic florals, or gum extracts. After a bit of back and forth, "Winter's Spring" seems to settle into a laundry pod / air freshener aroma, albeit of the highest caliber. This would've made a great laundry detergent. But a perfume, not so much. Falls into the usual, wearable if the host is a beautiful woman category.

It opens up quite green a little bitter and you'd think you're gonna get an interesting smell afterwards but no it settles down into Nivea body cream(blue tin can) with a slight green floral edge but I mean a hint of it. Cute packaging. Great for anyone who likes very subtle fragrances.

The complementary hand lotion that's out at upscale hotel bathrooms; nice and functionally light until you look at the price tag. The bottle is a work of art, but this perfume is truly nothing to write home about unless you use hundred dollar bills as Kleenex.

For me this is similar to Oriflame’s Innocent White Lilac... it’s a nice smell fit for spring, but I would not buy it full size.

Can't go wrong if you're a mimosa lover. Definitely similar to mimosa tanneron, but without the dustiness and weird hay note. Does not smell like Nivea to me but definitely has a lotion-y feel. Very soft, very french provencal. Last a great while on skin. It's a love for me! And I was able to find a new tester bottle on ebay for $99.

The sales lady told me this has vanilla notes in it but I couldn’t really smell it. This smells like you just got out of a shower, so fresh & clean but not a powdery kind of scent. I really liked it. Would be good for the mornings.

The smell of powderly mimosa, the smell of cleanliness and expensive body milk. It's so natural, mild, unobtrusive, pleasant cosmetic fragrance with mimosa. The new line of scents by Gucci is amazing! Expensive but worth it.

It is a very realistic mimosa single floral. the light or diluted, or daily version of Un Fleur de Cassie.

Gucci Winter’s Spring is a nondescript mimosa scent—one of many, nothing really stands out.
