Ylang Ambrato

This may not be for you, but it is for me. I find it completely delicious. It's a vanilla-tonka-cherry-tobacco perfume, with a touch of the Dr Pepper aspect Rouge Smoking has. I do think there is a lot of clever space in the middle, that means there could be some creamy ylang-like florals. It takes a bit of imagination, honestly, to detect that, but I don't even care. I just love this. I don't think calling it a 'masculine ylang-ylang' is quite right. It's a borderline spicy, sweet gourmand that would be perfect on anyone. I find it so very much sweeter than Spice Bomb, which is the perfume I used to make my male friends wear. Whilst I get the comparison, this is so much wetter and creamier, like kirsch cherries. Big love.

Heavy black pepper seasoning for sure, but interesting enough. Tough to define where you would wear this though

Crazy good. This a unique take on Ylang Ylang or Tonka however you want to see it. JC has woven these notes together to be perfectly complimentary - the fresher, slightly powdery floral section contrasts Tonka's dense, sticky sweetness but they both share a distinct creamyness where they meet in the middle. The overall effect is super smooth, never too sweet, has a nice darkness with the resins/tobacco and a touch of spice for extra punch. There's also a subtle smokiness lingering around that buttery central accord which sets things off perfectly as it develops on skin. Masterclass in how you create a more masculine take on a floral perfume though it's unisex enough just depends on the user.

A sophisticated take on spicebomb DNA , every note mentioned is making a noticable appearance , u get a hint of freshness from neroli , u got spiciness from pepper and pimento leaf , a whiff of solar floras from ylang ylang , and all over reisinous notes that give this scent a dark charm , i know its not listed but i could smell dark chocolate dusting somewhere in the background ! This is spicebomb gone niche , it has balsamic accent to it at the drydown , its more for the noses that love complex scents while spicebomb is smoother safer and crowd pleaser ..

A deep, layered, evening ylang-ylang perfume that I absolutely loved sampling at John Lewis today. I came in for my usual fave from the line, Vanilla Firenze, but Ylang Ambrato has been a revelation! An interesting, Non-cloying, balsamic dream worth every single penny and working very hard for a designer offering. Please note that it leans warm despite the acidic top notes. 100% worth trying.
