Guepard for Man

An easy wear for anyone over 30. Guepard was more than likely inspired by Egosite Platinum; not Cool Water, as others have suggested. Although more spicy than CEP by comparison, the similarities can't be denied. Still though, Guepard has enough of it's own character and is more interesting IMO, as there seems to be more warm layers going on with this hidden gem. Had this one hit the market first, it would have gotten more recognition I suppose. Apparently there are two versions of Guepard (edt and edp). I purchased the edp, so keep that in mind while shopping and taking my review into consideration. The guy directly below me inspired me to purchase, so thank you, sir. For guys sitting on the fence with this one, it's a safe purchase. Think "out of the shower clean" with masculinity still in tow. A spicy/green floral with a minty and slightly soapy feel. Nicely layered with more dimension than other scents in it's catagory I feel. Guepard will be difficult to offend in almost any situation. Even in a crowd of lesbian social justice warriors, I'd be hard pressed to believe you'd get any sneers wearing this. I don't know if I'd call Guepard a "home run", but I'd definitely say it's a line drive to second base! I got a feeling this will be a sought after collectable in a few years. I'll use sparringly. Update: A year and a half later, I'm liking this even more. There's a salty sea accord hidden in the middle of this gem. This is something special and puts a feeling of euphoria through me when wearing. I think I compared Guepard to CPE too hastily. The inspiration is still there, but this one really is a stand alone fragrance when you get down to brass tax. I gotta somehow find room on the favorites shelf for this scent.

Not your common "run with the pack" fragrance. Guepard is unusual, with its harsh resiny opening, impressive complex development and smooth, warm and cozy drydown. No complaints on longevity and projection. Try it at home, give it an opportunity to grow on you - and enjoy!

Very nicely done and the ingredients seem to be of good quality. I guess the best way to describe it would be a cool, green, light fougere. It seems a bit "mature" for the young crowd, and I think I prefer vintage Tsar, 1881, and a few others when I'm in the mood for this kind of scent, but I could see how many would enjoy it. For me, while it smells very nice, it's a bit simple and lacking in dynamism, and I'm not a fan of the fougere accord, which here is neither herbal or "biscuit-like" (as LT has called it). Rather, it's somewhere in between, which to me is a really boring place to be. The other notes, though, help to make up for it. I think I would prefer a mild fougere accord with a strong herbal quality in this kind of fragrance, and I suggest sampling Lancetti Monsieur if you feel the same way.

Wow, first comment on this in nearly six years? That's disappointing because this green machine is a very cool find. I blind bought this based on the positive reviews below (the EDP, not the EDT), and thankfully it wasn't a fail. I don't smell the Platinum Egoiste comparison at all, but to my nose, this is a much nicer and much more aromatic version of Cool Water. Think Cool Water but lacking the marine touch, much more herbal and green. Not going to blow you away, but this is solid. Blind buy safe if you're into masculine 90s releases. Also, not that I care at all about these things, but the bottle is really hideous in person, very gaudy and tacky looking. Thankfully the juice inside is nice. 7.5/10
