Guepard

I finally found my holy grail chamomile and marigold fragrance! This has very herbal leanings, true to those flowers but the usual bitterness that I love is tempered by a sweet note (orange blossom?). It is uplifting. I feel like I can take on anything when I'm wearing this. Sparkling really is a great descriptor (from a reviewer below). Sparkling and bright but not fresh. The spices are soft, barely detectable, blended so nicely with the orange blossom, chamomile, and marigolds. Kind of like a delicious tea but better. More perfumy than tea like. A gorgeous gem, different than the other chamomile perfumes I've tried.

This is really beautiful and smells really natural. Potent too it makes me feel like a witch stirring a pot of intoxicating herbal punch for a festive soirée to celebrate the beginning of autumn. I like mixing it with body oil’s eucalyptus primarily to masculinize it a bit to firmly plant it in a unisex region of expression. And to make it more tingly and herbal. Really glad I blind bought this I have had nothing but successful blind buys and this one is still a highlight of them along with Nuit etoilee and Mandragore it belongs to that class of effervescent witch potions . More than worth what it is sold for online

I blind bought this one after getting my earnings from slaving in hot cafeterias at schools [wiping brow with forearm]*whew*...What an amazing surprise! Guepard is sweet and smoky on my wrist...The pungent marigolds and sharp geraniums mix so deliciously with the mandarin orange...Chamomile, coriander and orange blossom hover softly, yet with enough sweetness to create a bewitching sillage...I will venture to say on me, this wears like Poison Light, if there were such a thing...All the beauty without the sticky sweetness...! Wow...I'm in love...

Guepard, I'm so happy to have made your acquaintance! You are fresh and charming, witty and sparkly. This is a scent to wear and feel like a dynamo. At least that's how I feel wearing it. Marigold, a touch sweetened so not so bitter. But still dry. A goodish amount of Chamomile stays with one throught wearing. A dab of Ginger and Cinnamon, so slightly sweetly spicey. I am really enjoying my decant from a kind friend. I now know that this will have to come to me as a full bottle. Delightful scent!

I bought this unsniffed because I like warm, spicy scents. I think this is an underrated find and I'm delighted with it. Go easy with application, it's very powerful in its opening stages! I spray it onto a cotton ball and dab it on. Rich, complex, and long-lasting. The drydown is wonderfully earthy. Two thumbs up! A great bargain for such an interesting fragrance.

First time reviewer, and I wouldn’t even call this a review, exactly. I don’t think I have the kind of nose that can pick things apart. I just know what I like. This is more of a love letter to previous reviewers. Based on the comments here (and I don’t even know what brought me “here” to this particular perfume other than an ADHD-fueled rabbit hole) I went ahead and blind-bought the 3.4 oz EDP. It arrived in the early afternoon and my first thought was “oh noooooooes, what did I just waste $65 on?!” One 1/2 spray on one wrist. It was harsh, and aggressive, and loud, and gave me a bit of a headache. Given my body’s tendency to make perfumes smell worse, not better, I wanted to run and scrub it off. But I stuck it out. IT TOOK AN HOUR. But when it happened, I could not get enough of it. IT WAS BEAUTIFUL. Soft, a little sweet but not gross-sweet, definitely could be worn by a man. It was still with me when I went to bed. Next morning, I went for it again. Same result. I was nervous the day before had been a fluke, but no. In an hour, it was gorgeous and weird and interesting. And still with me when I went to bed. This morning, I hit that bottle like it talked bad about my mama. One solid spray on each wrist. The headache up front is a bit rude, but the end result is fascinating. So thank you, Fragranticans. You found me a true winner! EDT: about to hop in the shower and I still smell amazing a full 26 hours. Ahhhhhhhhhh! I think the move with this one is to put it on under clothes to be enjoyed later 😏

I have Guepard EDT. For me, it is not sweet at all, and the spices are super strong, perfectly blended, extremely dry, "dusty", and masculine. By itself, this would work very well on male skin. I prefer sweeter feminine scents, but I use Guepard for layering, to tone down fragrances that are too cloyingly sticky sweet. Guepard adds depth and staying power to other perfumes, so it's really great for layering. When layered with syrupy sweet fragrances, Guepard changes them into unique, interestingly deep and long lasting blends that equal and surpass expensive high quality niche perfumes. Worn alone, Guepard for me is best on cold damp or rainy days. It adds a crispy dry element to the air that feels uplifting and hopeful. If you dislike sweet perfumes, Guepard is highly recommended. Its "old school" oriental style herbal spices and dry, non-sweet florals create a unique blend. DO be careful spraying, as Guepard is super strong and lasts until you wash it off. Very little goes a long, long way.

This was a blind buy for me over a decade ago, and one of the many I have bought because I thought the bottle was absolutely gorgeous. The fragrance itself on the other hand has taken this long to grow on me. I've learned that it's one of those that I enjoy more at a distance, so I've been spraying a small amount on my wrists or ankles. As it's a stronger fragrance I prefer not having it up around my face and being surrounded by it all the time. I do appreciate that it lasts, as I sprayed some on a few hours ago and just washed up a sink load of dishes from the previous night: I can still smell it well when I put my wrists up to my face. I think it's the geranium and chamomile that I like best in this fragrance. I can definitely detect the coriander in here, it remains pretty constant throughout the life of the scent. Overall I'd have to say I still like it more for the bottle than the scent, but I'm glad that it's a fragrance I've had a positive change of mind about.

OMG, I definitely didn't expect this one to be such a sillage monster!!! Now I understand why so many people suggest it as a winter/fall fragrance - I presume in hot weather this killer sillage really might be too offensive. But if you use it sparingly (and by that I mean 1 (one!) spray), it is a great spring/late spring/early autumn scent - slightly green, uplifting, optimistic and soothing at the same time (ginger and chamomile - two herbal teas I love most when feeling not too well). Ginger dominates this fragrance from the beginning till end. Vanilla is hardly here, I feel patchouli and mostly amber. Spices are not-in-your-face kind, they just add complexity to this scent, which is extremely well blended. My guess is you should try it prior to buying/swapping for it, since this one seems to be a scent that needs the right skin chemistry to fully reveal itself.

I came across this fragrant gem in a box lot of perfume that I purchased at auction. I'd never heard of it before and judging by the limited number of voters on this page, it must not be very well known. This lovely scent is a real sleeper. Another site classifies it as an Oriental. It does have characteristics of an Oriental although it has a lightness and brightness that most Orientals don't. The spices in this brew are delightful. The EDP that I have goes on very strong but settles down after about an hour and is followed by wave after wave of lovely floral and aromatic wafts. This is a very comfortable and wearable fragrance with good sillage and exceptional 8+ hours longevity. This is an unusual fragrance whose acquaintance I am happy to have made!

Oh my god this is a deja- vu to my trip to India! I smelled this perfume first time in my life a few days ago and did not imagine it to smell like the beautiful country i traveled in a few years ago! This fragrance lets me smell only incense scent and nothing else. It's the same scent like the indian 'Champa' incense i was so inlove with! I love this very unusual fragrance, but i have to say that i'm not sure if i would like to smell like this... I just want to have a bottle in order to be able to sniff this exotic incense mist once in a while.. not as a perfume on my skin. I would say it's very unusual scent... Interesting!

This one is a 360 degree turn from the current trend towards candy-like scents. Though not herbal to me, it's a breath of fresh air, especially for fall or winter. The marigold, geranium, orange blossom mix is spiced and tempered by the ginger/cinnamon and the chamomile. The edt reads like a superior edp, with spectacular longevity. This is a dabber/ one spray powerhouse. It brings to mind Katherine Hepburn in classic garb for daytime or casual cosy evening wear. (Gorgeous bottle, too!)

This isn’t a tea scent, but it reminds me a warm cup of marigold and chamomile tea—with a twist of tangy citrus and a few herbs to make it interesting. I’m picking up incense and geranium in the dry down. A fascinating fragrance, I’m wishing I had a larger sample and to be able to spray it.

i was expecting really to like it. it was on my wishlist for such a long time. now by having recieved it from a swap partner today, i'm little bit irritated after having tested it this morning, that it seems to not be my cup of tea. it's straight in the face pungent flowers and citrus smell, that i was shocked. the mandarin unfortunately i couldn t detect. it seems to have been covered by the overhelming flower-attack of the top. by smelling on my wrist even after 5 minutes i can't stand it. the spicyness mingels in the sharp flowers of the top and it becomes even worth at this stage. then, after a while i can smell nice waves of warm and cinnamon-spicy trails coming from my wrist, this stage is truly beautiful as far i don't put my nose to close to my wrist. normally i like ginger in perfumes, so guess it's almost the coriander which on is the unpleasent thing for my nose by sniffing near the skin. this rich and spicy scent seems to be rather on the male site on my opinion, i'm really surprised how mutch woman like to wear this. or perhaps i got a overdose by spraying it too next to the skin? as it is a spicy and strong scent maybe i should have better dust it instead of applying directly on skin. definitely i think this could also be a nice male scent, for me not one to love for myself, as i'm more in ultrafeminin scents, but it could please me maybe on my hubby. let's wait and see the results on maleskin :P the scent itself is nice blendet, has a great sillage and good staying power and smells expensiv.

Bought unsniffed from fragrancex.com and HATED this one at first. Although it is clearly a well blended and smells expensive, it came on like a guy with too much gold jewelry, a fake tan, and slicked back hair. Waaaay too strong! Slow down a little, huh? Also, the the coriander note made the hairs on the back of my neck stand up. Coriander and ginger notes together became noticeably bitter, acrid, sharp. I agree it is a sillage monster with excellent holding power. Then one day the weather was damp and chilly, and I don't know why, but I was feeling like giving it another chance. So I spritzed a little on my wrist and fell in love with the woodsy spicy heavenly smell. I think it must have been the right time to try it (hormonally speaking) because suddenly it worked on me. So weird! Now I am in woodsy-spicy love!

Tagetes - camomile - and a fresh note that irritated the living daylights out of me. I think it`s coriander... It`s rich and unusual, but it is not my cup of tea.

Interesting, reading the notes and reviews. I purchased a bottle this afternoon at a high-end beauty supply / specialty shop. The lady there (who knows me) said, "This is your style." It was a good price (though not as good as a current price on ebayou) and I thought I'd give it a shot, and if not, resell it. I often hope discontinued fragrances will be good resellers, but I don't think this one will be. When she sprayed it on me, my first thoughts: 1) pine 2) male 3) Acqua di Selva. Coming home and reading the reviews, I'm shocked to read there is any floral at all--aromatic, I get, flowers, no. Maybe I just don't know what marigolds (don't look up "tagetes" in the database--it's not there: tagetes is another name for marigolds) and chamomile smell like. I'm really not getting the ginger or orange blossom. I don't smell anything tangy and golden or spicy and creamy white at all. But yes, I do get the patchouli. I like the lady's advice to layer it with something a little too sweet. I may try it over Casmir. Either it will become an exotic harmony of light and dark, cold and warm... or else smell like caper sauce on a piece of birthday cake. Maybe all the notes mixed together are what give me that balsamy, resinous, evergreen vibe? To me it really smells like a man's winter fragrance, somewhat breath-catching, cold, and strong... like Acqua di Selva. The bottle shouldn't look like a jewel. There's nothing jewel-like about the fragrance. I think the bottle should be green and substantial with a heavy bronze cap, like the sun setting behind a stand of fir trees. That's what the smell "looks" like to me.

I remember testing this at the beginning of my studies. At the same time my passion for perfumes began. Guepard fascinated me not only with its scent, but also with the colour and ornaments on the bottle. At that time I decided to go back to it some 15 years later, as I wasn't ready for a randez-vous with Guepard. It made me think of a mysterious boudoir in an old mansion in the south of France, on a sunny, summer noon. The boudoir surely belongs to a beautiful and elegant lady from the past, who travelled a lot by Orient Express and saw most beautiful places and met most prominent people. And this is HER perfume. Unfortunately, Guepard had disappeared and - to make matters worse - I had forgotten its name and only this afternoon did I come across it here! I must find it somewhere and keep my promise to go back to it and verify my 1998 vision - I just can't wait, only it's so hard to find!...
