Aqua Allegoria Flora Salvaggia

Flora Salvaggia is soft and sweet! It is a refreshing treat on a warmer Florida Day. And we are in the high eighties and low nineties here. Upon first Spritz I am put into a cloud of powdery Violet and Sweet Melon. It is a soft romantic vibe that is a pleasure no doubt. Then within minutes the other florals make their presence known. And they are dreamy. It is hard to pick them all out actually but the star here is definitely the Violet. The Iris is also noticeable to me adding its soft, powdery, woody touch. At this stage there is also the Aquatic facet which lasts through the dry down. It adds a nice fresh water vibe but it is not too synthetic smelling. Not to my nose anyway. I am sensitive to high concentrations of Aquatic and Calone notes in fragrances just for reference. Sometimes they cause my olfactory receptors to tingle and itch which is not a pleasant experience. Upon further development, I also pick up on a mild Solar note and a moderate dose of Musk here that give this juice some warmth. They both linger on through the dry down. Not too much though. Just enough to ground the otherworldly soft florals and fruit. The dry down is mostly a soft, fruity, aquatic floral on my skin with a touch of warmth. I am thinking this one is going to become very popular for the Summer. I can see it being appealing for most ladies of all ages not just the younger ones. It is fun and a little on the flirty side. The song that comes to my mind is Olivia Newton-John's sweet, soft voice singing "Summer loving! Having a blast! Summer loving! Happened so fast!" In all reality, Flora Salvaggia could be a little much for the midday high heat of Summer if you are going to be outside. You know...in those places that get above 100F (38C) and that have extreme humidity. For balmy Summer nights though it could be fun for dinner dates and going out. Where Summers are milder this will be perfect anytime. Salvaggia means "Wild" in Italian and Flora of course means "Plant life". Perfectly named. This is a romantic Summer floral for the most part. I have been enjoying my bottle immensely. Seeing masks are mostly off these days I have received many compliments as well. Mostly by ladies. So there is an appeal in my neck of the woods. Longevity is about normal for an Aqua Allegoria. I would say four to five hours but re-spritzing is a treat. Sillage is huge at first then it fades to become moderate but a little closer to being a skin scent. I am so glad I picked this one up. A delightful surprise and nice addition to my Aqua Allegoria collection. It gets a 10/10 from me. Give it a try!

Flora Salvaggia is so, so gorgeous when first applied--the most intoxicating lilac, hyacinth, violet aroma imaginable, with sweet, melony top notes. I knew this would be très légère, as they say, so I prepped my spray-spots carefully with unscented petroleum jelly and oversprayed a bit (I think five sprays total). I want to score this as a love, but the longevity is worse than the average body mist. The skin scent is exquisite, but it fades much too quickly--much like a violet, I suppose, one of the more evanescent blossoms and scents. Honestly, I'm a fool for Guerlain, and I probably would have bought this anyway, even knowing that it would be short-lived. Especially since I scored a bottle at half price from one of the discount sites. Despite the relatively low cost, it was still a bit pricey considering how much you need to spray just to enjoy an hour or so of this impossibly delicate and wispy evocation of the French countryside. The bottle is gorgeous (although I also adore the classic inverted heart-stopper design of my cherished L'Heure Bleue). I'm pathetically besotted with the Guerlain fragrances I have sampled so far, but I think I require a bit more longevity from a fragrance. At the same time, I keep catching deep violet-shadowed whiffs of myself during the drydown, and I feel that I smell magnificent. At least for now! I wish Fragrantica offered a more nuanced emoji for me to select. I love this when I can smell it, and I'm sad when I cannot (which is shortly thereafter). Update: I might have to upgrade this to a Love. The shy woodland violets deal, with some silky luxury powder vibes, is making this irresistible to me. I can tell it will annoy me when no one will be able to smell it on me, but this is really special. Leave it to Guerlain to make me consider purchasing a jumbo-size refill bottle (and I wish all perfume bottles were refillable, with screw tops, if only because it makes it easier for me to share my favorite scents with my friends). I really enjoy the way the florals meld with the green notes (grass, stems, leaves). To anyone who said this smells like laundry detergent, please tell me the brand name because seriously, I might want to buy it!

This was unexpectedly good. On first spray, it made me think of a clear and fruity fluffy violet. But things go in a different direction within seconds. It morphs into an exceptionally pretty, soft floral getting a lift from a hint of "aquatic" notes. Not enough to turn this into an artificial smelling aquatic, but just the right touch to balance the natural powdery vibe of flowers like iris and violet. The balance and finesse of this fragrance set it apart. After a half hour or so, a gentle soap-like accord peeks through. Just like the aquatic and melon elements though, it isn't the star of the show. It just helps the scent stay fresh, clean, and sparkling all the way through. I don't get much jasmine or orange blossom. It dries into tasteful musks and some iris but with a continued gentle brightness I can only describe as green. Other lovers of the purple/green floral/iris accords of Green Irish Tweed might find something to enjoy in this drydown as well, despite these being very different fragrances. Lastly I think it's important not to skip past how fragrances feel, and how they make us feel. On first spray the texture is delightful and fluffy. Gentle blue flowers and wild flowers but light and balanced enough that I'd still wear this out, even as a man. It has zero heaviness and won't fill the room. It keeps the cheerful attitude up as it dries down but actually becomes less fluffy and interestingly, sharper and more focused, which is a nice trick that lets me continue enjoying the fragrance all day. It makes me feel a relaxed optimism. "I'm just going to take it easy today so that I can keep smelling my arm." This may be my favorite Aqua Allegoria.

I bought this bottle a couple of years ago, and I don't use it much, even though I always think it's beautiful when I put it on. A perfume vlogger I follow and whose content greatly enjoy--Wendi of Wendi's Parade of Perfumes--mentioned that she found the solar notes a bit much sometimes, and I wonder if that is the little extra note I'm perceiving here amid the "wildflowers" that do not grow wild in this country (to me, orange blossom, jasmine sambac, and iris aren't wildflowers, although violets certainly count--then again, the imagined setting for this perfume must be Italy or something, or perhaps the South of France, although then why the Italian name? I guess it goes with Aqua Allegoria?) I never think of myself as liking melon notes in perfume, but I suppose I must because there is calone aplenty in this juice, and it contributes to the general fresh-watery-ozonic vibe. Every once in a while it does remind me of an old body spray I had in the late 90s, some kind of cucumber-melon cheapie concoction, but then the trad florals come back, and I don't notice it anymore. Flora Salvaggia is a great choice for hot weather. I will probably puzzle forever over "solar notes," though. Sunlight--or light in general--does not have a fragrance. I suppose "solar" must refer to the way skin and other organic substances smell when heated: a kind of intensification of the normal smell, I guess. But I think "solar" and any references to sun in an olfactory sense are figurative because LIGHT HAS NO ODOR MOLECULES.

When I initially smelled flora salvaggio, it was at the end of a sampling sniff session so it all blurred together and i was kinda meh about it. Now in at 1:30 am in the morning, I can finally appreciate this attractive wallflower of a perfume. So delightfully sweet, she makes me feel like a swooning nobleman catching a glimpse of a beautiful lady’s shoulder as she walks past. Literally i got past the opening sweet violet notes giving way to the powdery aquatic scents and she just made me swoon. This is definably butch bait perfume LOL. It’s got a sweet wateriness at the end that I adore. I love water notes, so them being so prominent in the perfume is a big plus. Kinda disappointing they're stronger than the violet, but I enjoyed it anyway. Not really something that’s my style, but if someone wants to catch eyes or make a good first impression on a date this is the perfect perfume for someone. If my date showed up wearing this I would be ALL over them immediately. Might be a bit “old lady” for some people (My mom called it old lady), but that’s more because of the powdery and floral notes, to me I think this perfume is really special. Probably because of the aqua notes. This is a night perfume too by the way. I just have this vibe. But it's night perfume on an intimate yet sweet date, this isn't a party hard kind of perfume. Unfortunately, like her sisters in the Aqua Allegoria line, she doesn’t last as long as I’d like. A shame, really.

The sky is overcast, yet a ray of light suddenly breaks through. That sensation when the humidity from just a moment ago lifts, if only for an instant. I’m absolutely hooked on this today. The top notes are melon and watery accords. It’s fresh, yet the sweetness is restrained, with a hint of green. A cool, crystalline clarity, like fruit that has fallen onto wet grass. Moving into the heart notes, jasmine and wildflowers. Not the typical showy white blossoms, but wildflowers swaying in the breeze. Rather than the scent spreading, it feels as though it’s blending into the air. Here, a little bit of sunshine breaks through. The base is musk. Not too powdery, yet it lingers nicely on the skin. A softness that melts into your body heat whilst retaining a hint of humidity. Overall, it is light and airy, with a gentle sillage. The longevity isn’t particularly long, but for that reason, it feels as though it stays close to the ‘air of the moment’ all the time. That ambiguous brightness of a day that never quite clears. In the damp breeze, the contours suddenly blur. It seems as though it might vanish, yet it is definitely there.

I've been wanting this perfume for so long and i finally bought it and it did NOT disappoint. For me its an all year perfume, a cold winter morning where i dressed up nice and cozy walking to class with a light snowfall. The first day of spring where the weather is still a bit chilly but the trees are starting to get green. A windy fall day where i'm sitting in cafe and reading my book. And the mid august where i'm watching the moon rise above the sea from my hotel room. It is a beautiful powdery violet and melon scent. Sweet yet not overwhelming or heavy, it smells mostly floral for me despite the melon note (don't get me wrong u can get the melon a lot but it leans more into the floral side). The dry down is especially beautiful, turning into a more watery fresh melon and orange flower scent. Undoubtedly gonna be perfume that i refill as soon as it's over.

I adore this perfume. I was searching for something for hot weather, tried this in store among so many others, including the others in this range, and this one won my heart and I bought a full size bottle. Its so fresh, kinda shampoo like, makes me feel like I've just got out the shower still smelling like lovely fresh shower gel and shampoo, which is exactly what I was looking for. I can smell a watery melon and violets. I do have to over spray for it to last all day though, it fades on my skin a lot but stays on my clothes, so I have been topping it up half way through the day. The biggest downside is the price especially when it needs topping up. But despite this I know I will buy another bottle after I finish my current one, I can't get enough of it, it makes me feel happy.

mr wasser can do no wrong. i smelled this innspain when it just came out and i was insta tly hooked. i never smelled anything so reminescent of childhood in the summer in the fields... it s smells warm and watery at the same time, and of herbal, wild flowers. i was disappointed at the performance, it was gone very quickly, but after reading more on the topic of perfumes i came to understand the concept of nose blindness, as well as the fact that aome perfumes are projected to be more subtle. hell, some. of the most acclaimed nieche fragrances are skin scents. so i bought this after 5 years and i am again and in love a perfect summer scent that can be worn day and night😗👌

I have been dry powdery rose-peony girl. Chloè, Narciso etc. Flora Salvaggia took me to the fruity and sunny side of perfumes. To be honest it does not even smell like a perfume but rather just the happiest memory of a sunny day in nature. It is more of a scent and less of "perfume" 😁 It feels light and happy but still elegant and expensive. I feel like it unlocked a memory, as if I had smelled it somewhere years ago. I cant let go. I will be wearing this for the summer of 2023. It is very light and fresh but not the screechy kind. Great for people who like perfumes but cant handle strong smells. Very office safe in this sense. Lasting power is not great.

Probably very unpopular opinion here, but after the honeydew melon settles a bit to blend more in (about 20 minutes), I get a sense of ALO if this was a happier ALO. Like after the rainstorm with honeydew melons. It has a sense of a thinking perfume like ALO, and i completely get the same sense of violets and flowers that are wet with dew or rain... with honeydew. It is pretty. If you wait the 20 of so minutes for the other notes to come in to make the honeydew blend in instead of stand out. It’s 3-4 hours on me and close to skin scent but you do get whiffs from farther away like it comes in and out. Even with the melon, it can work in all seasons.

It's a stunning scent, a fresh dewy melon, aquatic and floral. I wish this profile was more common nowadays, it's a bright and watery fruity floral that's perfect for spring and summer. Sadly, it's also extremely faint, even freshly sprayed it doesn't have much sillage. And the longevity is absolutely poor. I know this is par for the course with the Aqua Allegorias, but honestly I didn't have this problem when testing Florabloom, or Mandarine Basilic. Those last a good 3-4 hours, which is a decent time and I don't mind re-applying. Flora Salvaggia is gone in 1 hour. I love love love the scent but cannot justify the performance for the price.

Superb violet leaf fragrance, with slight hints of ionones but nowhere as powdery from the stereotypical violet fragrances. Instead we have all the watery aspects of violet leaf, reminding us cucumbers, melons and pears, quite aquatic but at the same time floral. Deep deep down you can get the classic musky violet note i.e. similar to L'instant Magic, but this one takes all the watery floral aspect to the front stage. In one hour it turns into a more generic body lotion like classic Nivea scent, jasmine-violet-cyclamen type. I will definitely test this once again in detail and update my review. Initial impression is great.

I tend to like most of the Aqua Allegorias, and took the plunge and bought this one blind since I found it at an affordable price online. Turns out it was a good decision.. The scent is very violet heavy in the beginning, but turns more melony/aquatic after a while. I do smell the musk and white florals a well, but the rest, not so much. As a violet lover I'm very pleased with this one, but I would advise those who dislike violet to avoid Flora Salvaggia, or at least try before you buy. The longevity is decent on this one, better than some of the other aqua allegorias I've owned and it stays pretty close to the skin.

mouth watering cold melon on my skin and nothing else for at least an hour, after 5 hours-ish it's ozonic on the skin, musky in close-up. the perfect inoffensive everybody-loves-it fresh and pleasant feminine scent for the office and other neutral social scenarios. very charming, ethereal feminine vibe. another plus is that i usually hate jasmine, but in this it is so well blended it doesn't stand out. i love this fragrance, it's my long hot brat summer of 2024 signature scent. another take on the violet that i own. interpretations of violet must be the very modern, i wonder, a zeitgeist thing, perhaps.

This is the most beautiful and pure fragrance I’ve ever felt in my life. It’s my favourite scent of all time, even regarding my long history with perfumes, and the fragrance’s weak silage. It lasts on skin for more than 12 hrs, only there when you put your nose to it. If you layer it the scent is more noticeable. None of this bothers me: I don’t need another Insolence, I need this angel’s aroma breezing through my life. You feel as if you just stepped out of a mineral water lake filled with morning picked wildflowers. There’s no way anything can beat this. It’s the scent of a Fairy.

I got recommended this by a stranger when I said I was craving a musky, fresh, flowery scent and OMG!! They were right on the money!!! Summer is approaching down here and this perfume is perfect! Dewy, Ozonic, Ethereal, Musky and Sweet! It’s lovely! I wish it had better lasting power or silage, but it’s still great. It opens with this juicy, sweet melon, and then the dry down is so beautiful, becoming more powdery with iris, violets, and other meadow-y florals I can’t quite discern. If a dew drop on a purple flower had a smell, this is what I imagine it would smell like.

This is a charming little violet dream in a bottle! 💜 * It opens with a fresh and juicy splash of melon and almost immediately after, a delicate, natural violet tiptoes in, bringing with it a whisper of green from the violet leaf. It’s not powdery or old-fashioned, but it is nostalgic indeed, reminding me of early 2000s scents. * If you’re a violet lover (like myself), this one is quite photorealistic and wears its floral heart with quiet class. It's a subtle, summery scent that feels like a secret garden in early morning bloom.

Beautiful, light, airy, soft and very feminine violets carefully spiced with fruits and a hint of green notes. The aquatic part is not very prominent, it serves to give a lift to the composition. I think it's one of the best Allegorias so far. Perfect summer treat, not overwhelming, light but always present in a discreet way, which makes it quite sophisticated. I can still smell it 3-4 hours after applying it to my skin and amazing 30 hours on blotter and clothing. Not bad for this type of product. Love it!

It’s very, very violet. Typically you find violet in fragrances to add tension. This is what makes Dior’s Fahrenheit so polarising. However, the mix of the synthetic aquatic and solar notes with the natural violet sort of ground the fragrance and give it intrigue more than tension. The melon also softens the tension of the violet to sort of ease you into that space, as what you’re left with a short time after applying is a violet growing near a sunny creek.
