Aqua Allegoria Passiflora

Passiflora has the tropical vibe I enjoy. It is uplifting and light. A great middle of the day pick me up for warm weather. Upon first spritz I got a lot of Passion fruit and Citrus. I grew up in Hawai'i and we have Passion fruit everywhere up in the valleys of Kahalu'u and Waiahole. It immediately takes me back there. The smell of my childhood home. Right away I knew I was going to love this one this Summer in the insane heat of Florida. This juice is not too sweet but crisp and clean. As it developed, I got mostly Grapefruit after about half an hour. Although I still smelled the Passion fruit and other Citrus. However, Grapefruit is most dominant. Not too long after I picked up the Water note which is also light. At this point I decided to go outside to let this note develop further which intensified in the humidity. It adds an interesting dimension. In the AC it was different. It had been stifled for lack of a better word. The floral I smelled the most was Orange Blossom that is just lovely. I did detect the woody nuances of the Ylang-ylang too. The Green note, Musk and Aldehydes are minimal facets here. I did pick up on the Aldehydes in the drydown when I was in the humidity. Very interesting and just beautiful. This is a very refreshing take on Passion fruit as it is not cloying or overly sweet. I did find this one is a better performer when you are wearing it outside. I had a feeling it would be. It reminds me of Bvlgari Paraiba which does the same thing on me. There is no cocoa or passionflower here but they are of the same vein in my opinion. Sillage is huge at first and then it abates to become within arms length. I would say it is amplified in the heat. Perfect for Summer vacations. The longevity on me was about four hours but that is okay because I love re-spritzing. The AAs are basically luxury body sprays. That is what one must consider when delving into the world of these little bee hive bottle gems. I would say that a blind buy would be safe as long as you know you are not getting something really sweet or a strong tropical floral. This is realistic tropical fruit citrus and it is refreshingly tasteful. One which I enjoyed while being mainly outdoors. I am so happy to add this to my collection.

Uplifting SPARKLING Passionfruit-Orange... Opens with a burst of sparkling orange-citrus with grapefruit nuances, that deepens into a passionfruit heart with watery, green, clean, tropical and mineral nuances, all resting on a white musk base. Aldehydes here lend a sparkling facet. This was a love at first sniff for me. Well above average performance after spraying and storing, especially for a fresh fruity-floral. Overall: beautiful passionfruit scent profile, this is the perfect scent to wear for feeling effervescent. It's a love for me. 10/10 for a fruity scent. Enjoy! Contrast to Orange de Bahia Boucheron: These are different, but there's a similar vibe of sparkling citrus freshie. Orange de Bahia leans more sparkling orange, while Aqua Allegoria Passiflora leans more sparkling tropical. Performance is roughly equivalent. Update 04/13/24: I'm really enjoying wearing this lately. I was reminded of it the other day when making a punch from a few fruit juices (guava, litchi & orange) and sparkling water. I've been wearing it every day since for the past few days. So refreshing. Sprayed it last night (one spray) and can still smell it this morning up close. Love, love, love. Update 07/28/24: Sprayed this on my hand this morning, and it's really shining in the heat. Effervescent, refreshing, aquatic, sweet passionfruit. So good, and it's gotten a little sweeter. This is my favourite passionfruit scent, bar none. Still a love.

imagine biting into a freezing cold passionfruit or grapefruit on a hot sunny day. or lounging by the pool in bali while sipping an icy cool tropical punch. That is the experience when you first spray it. Refreshing, juicy, tropical, exotic, fruity. But! On me, very quickly it dissipated into a lemony aldehydic mess. It smelled like lemon toilet freshener! it reminded me of those body shop cheap scents, in passionfruit or pink grapefruit with more complexity. But the rapid and disappointing drydown absolutely reminded me of those cheaper scents. However many of you will be pleased to know there is no hint of soapiness. It would suit a young woman age 18 - 30ish who wants a refreshing fruity scent for daytime or holiday wear. But not so good for wearing in the office or to business meetings or for a mature woman who wants to be taken seriously. It's a playful fun scent, not a sexy one. Top notes - passionfruit, exotic citrus, bergamot, hint of aquatic Middle notes: white floral, lemon Base notes:Aldehydes (strong, ugh)

I love anything grapefruit-y , this is a perfect pomelo scent. As a matter of fact the opening is very similar to Atelier Cologne Pomelo. I am very familiar with passion fruit , the fruit, flesh, seeds, flowers, etc ( as I have been to South America many times ). There is no passion fruit here, or anything related to it. But the scent has a pleasant tropical feeling, it’s citrusy yet soft, no sharpness or sourness, and as a fan of the Allegoria line , I love it. the citrus changes eventually into a non descriptive floral clean scent. However, knowing that many people criticize the Allegoria concept as weak and not Guerlainish enough , I can easily see those people giving this thumbs down , as yet another common, light, and not unique scent. For me it’s perfect for summer and a very nice release.Not a must have but lovely.

I really enjoy this one. There's a burst of fruity passionfruit upfront with strong florals underneath. It develops over a few hours, with a soft but deliberate Guerlain DNA underneath. Six hours later, I can still detect it on my skin. There's a bitter note, grapefruit? It's almost like an expensive hotel smell, but a skin scent. No one is going to smell this on you from 2-metres away unless you dose yourself in it and only then, within the first 45 mins or so. I find the scent more pleasant after an hour or two. Probably, not a perfume to layer with others but, perfectly acceptable as a light fragrance during the Summer or after a shower (that's how I use it). I've found where I apply this makes a huge difference. Applied on my wrist, I don't get to appreciate the base notes. Applied under my clothes, it's beautiful.
