Aqua Allegoria Rosa Rossa

I sometimes stay clear of fruity perfumes. It is not me....but I am open minded especially with fragrances. I love Guerlain frangrance, my first French perfume is Samsara and I have a few bottles of Guerlain in my boudoir. So when I was searching for a different fragrance to wear this spring and summer I decided to visit Guerlain. I fell in love at the first spritz! I love rose scents and this is a fresh, tarty rose. Lychee a tropical fruit has a very delicate scent which goes very well with the rose cord. When I sprayed it on my skin it opens with green fresh soft sweet scent, then the rose slowly blooms. After 6 hours it turns into a light musky skin scent. I made sure that I sprayed close to my skin to condense the fragrance which lasted longer. Rosa Rossa is a crisp, light floral (rose) scent that is perfect for spring-summer. I love the longevity considering it is an edt. I own and tested a lot of floral fragrances and Rosa Rossa might come across as simple and uncomplicated, but it is its simplicity and familiarity makes it very elegant. This stays close to the skin which for me is tres tres bon! Guerlain perfumes for me never disappoints.

Lovely sweet fruity opening, definitely get both litchi and black currant. But the main stars of this fragrance are Iso E Super and rose, in that order. At first, I didn't know what is the super strong but nondescript smell I get in the initial spray and the drydown, but then I learned that it's magic of the Iso E Super molecule. If I were to describe it, I would say it makes the rose smell clean, slightly musky and even a little bit old fashioned. Maybe like an expensive soap that your grandma may have in her closet. Oh, and also the peony, which almost gives me Miss Dior Blooming Bouquet vibes in the drydown. I'm a rose fragrance lover and Rosa Rossa was a safe blind buy for me. Although it may seem rather generic, at least on the first sniff, I don't find it similar to any other rose fragrance from my collection.

I was expecting something different from this. I didn't care for the opening. To me it was too old-fashioned and stuffy, but soon after that it just smelled like soft rose and musk, very pleasant and not at all sweet. It's not my favourite scent, but I like it. It's not overpowering (a good thing in my books), and for me the lasting power was quite good (6+ hours). Edit: This grew on me as the day went on. By the end of the day I was sniffing at my wrists to catch a whiff of what remained, and I just wanted to immerse myself in the scent. I had to upgrade my rating to "love." The sample I bought is now looking very tiny... I may just have to invest in a full bottle...

I have it in miniature form, this is relevant. When I first smelled it in the bottle I thought it had a disappointingly generic smell, which is why I wasn't interested in using it for the longest time. But once I tried it on my skin the fresh rosy aroma really came through. It has a very pleasant, calming, sweet sort of smell which I really like. Now, I can't accurately say how lasting it is since I can't properly apply it, but I'm inclined to say it doesn't last very long. I suppose the ephemeral nature of it is part of what makes it so suave and attractive though, because it would be overwhelming and generic if it were any stronger.

I love this so much I wore it for my wedding! So romantic! Floral with just the right amount of fruitiness. I mostly get fresh rose with a bit of lychee, not too much citrus. I do wish it lasted a little longer but my wedding was during a heatwave and I did only have to apply it twice throughout the whole day so it wasn’t too bad. Usually when I wear it I don’t even have to worry about topping it up if I’m only out for a few hours. It is very fresh and clean but doesn’t smell like shampoo or soap to me. Just freshly cut flowers and a touch of fruit.

I usually hate rose fragrances. Many years ago a co worker ruined the scent for me with a cheap and truly awful rose perfume that made us all gag! The only reason I tried Rosa Rossa is because I received a sample with a purchase from Guerlain. If you don’t over spray, this is so light and beautiful. I only use it at night, along with Mon Guerlain to help me drift off to sleep. It calms down the lavender in Mon Guerlain that I feel sometimes is too strong. The combination is so pretty and soothing.

I was always disappointed with the longevity of this scent. But the airy smell of dew and soft pink petals is so intoxicatingly beautiful that I'm considering purchasing a second bottle now that I'm about to finish the one I have. Worth the price? I would say it doesn't unless it gives you "the feels". For me, it turns life into a dream I'm floating in.

A gorgeous all year round musky, fruity floral scent. The blackcurrant here is delicious and tart, the rose is soft. It's slightly sweet and has a gorgeous woody base. Very sophisticated. The sillage is weak, but the longevity is decent. I can smell it on my clothes the next day. Beautiful scent.

I absolutely adore this perfume and it would be perfect if it just lasted longer! I apply several sprays in the morning and by the time I get to work it seems to be gone. It's flowery, rosy, happy, uplifting and without any muskiness. It's beautiful- it just doesn't last.

Honestly scent wise, its i just ADORE this scent, but the longevity is disappointing. I really wish it just lasted longer. otherwise this really knocked it out of the park for me. Its a perfect blend of floral, fruity and sensual without being too overpowering.

The dominant note I pick up is rose, as the name suggests. It evokes a spring-like, feminine, and delicate vibe. Even though I typically gravitate toward gourmand, sweet vanilla perfumes, this fragrance has won me over — I would definitely repurchase it.

Delightful rose perfume that actually smells palpably like a sweet, fresh, fruity rose. Possibly 75% red rose and 25% hothouse pink rose, blooms. Negligible greenness or dirt, the interpretation is of the rose flower. Blissful.

I love Guerlain Aqua Allegoria Rosa Rossa! The fresh pink roses and pink peonies with hints of sandalwood, musk, and black currant are very pleasantly and refreshingly sweet and the longevity is impressive!

On me sillage and longevity are terrible. It’s a pleasant, unremarkable fresh rose at a very high price and there are other much better and cheaper options available.

A very green rose-peony combo. Love it. Not real fruity, just enough to give the rose and peony body, substance and a touch of sweet/tartness.

Rosa Rossa is a fresh, fruity, rose fragrance. I might not have realized how pretty it is, if I’d judged it solely based on my first impressions. This is a light, airy fragrance. It is not long-lasting and does not have a powerful sillage, but it is very pleasant, especially in warm weather. The one caveat is that I would call Rosa Rossa delicate, by which I mean, it must be applied in moderation, with a careful hand. The first few times I wore it, I was nauseated, and it gave me a migraine. Because it is so light, I had assumed I could (and should) spray it generously. Big mistake. When over-sprayed, this pretty rose scent becomes nauseous and smells, frankly, cheap, almost like a really bad body mist from the drugstore. It’s shocking how much over-spraying it changes the whole character of this fragrance. After seeing people review it positively (and almost unanimously at that), I decided to experiment. I tried doing one spray on each wrist and one on my neck, and it was perfect. Fizzy, vibrant, and feminine. This is how I wear it now, and it’s delightful.

First impression: Green, fresh, light, floral, rose! Notes: Rose > peony > black currant Longevity: weak (fades away in <1hr!) Got it because it has similar DNA to Diptyque's Eau Rose (looking at the notes pyramid); however, the scent is not quite identical. Diptyque is a better representation of a real fresh rose blooming in the garden; Rosa Rossa is a pretty rose too but it mixed in with other notes (e.g. light airy peony). Though I do not smell the lychee... there's barely any sweetness, and mostly floral. I like it, and it's probably my fav from the entire Aqua Allegoria line (least citrusy). The citrus fruits are really just there to highlight the rose and make it more "fresh". Black currant resembles the "green leaves" of the rose. It reminds me of Diptyque's L'Ombre - another green (a bit fruity) rose. Reasonable price and... need not mention how gorgeous the bottle design is!

I am exploring the House of Guerlain right now and decided to pick up a few decants, mini's etc.... to see if I want full bottles in the future. I have been searching for fresh roses that I would like to wear in hot summer weather and thought the Aqua Allegoria line was a good place to start. Rose Rossa is a nice fresh, tart rose that I find much more wearable than Parfums de Marley Delina. Delina was way to tart and sour for my liking. Rose Rossa is a fresh, slightly tart green rose w/ peony that holds its character instead of fading away into a bland and boring laundry musk like Chloe Rose perfume does and it is sweet enough for me to actually enjoy, unlike Delina so that I will wear it often. This is something I may need to add to my collection. If you like tart, green, and fresh rose/peony perfumes that will wear well during hot weather this is a good way to go.

A Nordstrom associate decanted a sample of this and Pera Granita for me last year at some point. Of the two, at the time, i leaned heavily towards the latter. Fast forward to today and i’m finding myself appreciating rose in ways i never had. Although i still wouldn’t proclaim myself to be a true rose-lover (when it comes to perfume at least), I’ve been searching for a fragrance that accurately depicts how a real rose actually smells in real life - velvety, sweet, almost fruity - instead of the musky rose-water that so many rose perfumes tend to be.. or used to be. My nose has evolved i suppose because i’m now getting a rose that’s quite close to what a real life rose smells like whereas before it was the same old generic musky rose-water. This is actually quite nice, fruity jammy sweet realistic red rose and i now prefer it over pera granita.

Aqua Allegoria Rosa Rossa opens with blackcurrant, lemon/bergamot and rose. It's clearly a feminine leaning rose. About twenty minutes later there is a hint of musk, cedar and peony coming in. The initial silage is moderate but after 45 minutes it's already beginning to fade to a more intimate sillage. One hour in and the mixture is a beautiful blend of rose, lychee, blackcurrant, cedar,a little musk and a hint of ISO E Super fixative. Two hours in it's really fading. I get somewhere between four and a four and a half hours duration. It's a lovely perfume but it is very much as its name suggests - a water allegory. Very nice for a warm day's wear especially if you want to wear something different in the evening without having to wash it off in the shower. Nice and elegant, airy and graceful.

Oh man, this is lovely, but it's really weak. I have several perfumes from the Aqua Allegoria line, but this is the weakest I've come across so far. I well understand the concept of this line line, but c'mon... It stays about half an hour, maybe one hour as a skin scent, so the price point is quite outrageous for what it offers. I'll probably try the forte version at some point to see if it's any better... It's otherwise exactly as previously described by other members. Soft, delicate, innocent rose water scent. Update: the forte version is really not the same fresh scent, I didn't really like that one. I don't even know if it performs any better because I didn't like it and washed it off. 😬 Way sweeter, jammier, it's basically a peach-rose duo rather than the peony-rose this one is.

Testing from a manufacturer's carded sample. Looking at the note profile before I tried it, I was sure it was geared to the young, but my fear that this would be too juvenile was unfounded. It is not. I think anyone can wear this. This is a very pretty fresh summer rose fragrance. There is an aquatic undertone coming from the litchi that I really like a lot. That surprises me because I normally don't like that fruit but here it is adding a nice cooling freshness to this rose fragrance that I think would be great for hot summer days. Another note I hate is iso-super, and though it is here, it is thankfully not so heavy that I can actually smell it, but I think is doing its job in making this fragrance last and project - something of an anomaly for this line.

I was pleasantly surprised by this one. With the popularity of lychee rose frags right now, I expected this one to be a lot more aggressive; most lychee rose fragrances on the market have a strong tart, powdery, or sweet element. This one is quite soft and subtle, with none of the notes outshining the others. You can smell the lychee and the rose, but they feel completely blended. The base notes and citrus provide a really good balance. This has no projection on me; it sits right on my skin. I think that works for a soft, subtle fragrance like this one, though I personally prefer something that radiates a bit past armsʻ length on me.

Try it at the duty free and it smells really nice, soft, subtle rose scent on my skin but the silage is pretty bad even after just spraying it you have to get really close to your skin to notice the scent, may be because it's an edt but other one in this range isn't this hard to notice. Longetivity is pretty bad too for only like 1 hour. I really love the scent but it's like getting nothing for this price so it's a pass for me.

Guerlain Rosa Rossa (2018) - Rose Blackcurrant - #thierrywasser creates this airy and elegant Rose cologne. Starts with Rose, dewy and fresh, combined with Blackcurrant. As it evolves, I get Lychee, Peaches and Peony. Just the right amount of sweetness. The rose-blackcurrant accord remains throughout the life of the perfume with a well-placed green yet creamy Sandalwood as its base.

I have never been a fan of a prominent rose note in fragrances. So I think here, combo of rose & peony notes, is so on point, they perfectly complement each other. Peony always adds sophisticated scent to fragrances, and velvet rose here just makes the fragrance more edgy. So I think this is the first rose fragrance that I do recommend as I also consider to own it in near future

Pretty and pleasant. The notes are as listed, and I love how the lemon sings along with the rose and other fruits at the beginning. But this has such little projection and lasts only a few hours as essentially a skin scent. I have to touch my nose to my arm to smell it. I wouldn't buy this again, because what's the point in buying a perfume if you can't really smell it?

Surprisingly pretty. Starts off more focused on the rose and gets fruitier over time. Longevity is weak, lasting a couple hours at most, but I don't mind reapplying. I'll happily finish up my sample but it's probably not worth full price for a bottle given how much I'd need to reapply each time.

It smells quite good. A rose scent with some mildly sweet fruits and a hint of peony. It's not better than Aqua Allegoria Flora Rosa though. So many rose perfumes in that line, but nothing can top Flora Rosa. My expectations were a bit higher on this one. An alright scent, not a signature one.

This is a clean, pretty scent, let down a little by poor longevity but would be lovely in the Summer as an all over spritz. The lemon and Bergamot are very dominant in this, making this an effervescent, light lychee-rose that is ageless and cheerful.

This is the perfect scent to wear to bed. It smells light and lovely and will be gone by morning. For daytime wear, I layer it over Jo Malone Velvet Rose Oud to make that one smell sweeter and this one last longer.

Not going to lie that I went for this because of the bottle. This perfume's scent and color matches really well, very elegant and feminine. It's a nice rose perfume, but its sillage could be improved.

So refreshing ! Rose petals and yuzu. If I didn’t know lychee was a note , I may not have guessed what made it smell so tropical . It’s very light , breezy and not too sweet . Just beautiful !

The fist hour it reminded me herbal tea, but after that, it goes really beautiful. And I was surprised with the longevity, it was good. I could smell it whole day from my wrist.

This is a beautiful, citrus rose. It is feminine, fresh and grounded with the cedar note. I just wish it lasted longer and had more sillage.

Safe smelling perfume. It's lovely for lighter days and it smells expensive. It's light and airy, but doesn't last super long. :(

I looooove this scent! SO much! BUT.. doesn't last at all and the forte version is completely different unfortunately.

this is beautiful!!! the floral notes are so fresh here. its very light, it's perfect for the summer.

Right off the bat, it's lychee and rose, and I can smell it about 6" from my skin. It's a light, citrusy fruity floral that's fresh and a bit sweet. This is more so a 'pink rose' scent. Like the other Aqua Allegorias, it's emphasis on the "aqua" where it's a light, almost "see through" scent with not much powerful longevity, but would be good for summer. Currently this is very pretty, feminine, and delicate. Definitely more "young" though I feel, with the fruitiness and pink florals. 20 mins later, it's a clean and fresh rose. A bit of woodiness and musk comes through. It's very "bright" still. I'm assuming from the lemon and bergamot. 2 hours later and it's not projecting, but I can smell directly on my skin (though I did put quite a bit on). It's a little acidic and screechy and linear at this point. I'm kind of getting tired of it to be honest, but want to see how long it lasts. 3 hours later and it makes me almost a little headache-y smelling it and I want to take it off. It smells dare I say cheap now. It's mostly musky with still an acidic "brightness" to it and floral. 4 hours later it's a light skin scent 6 hours later and it's some light woodiness left over with still some musk. Still don't want to wear this because it's smelling acidic At this point I am showering anyways and taking the scent off. I think maybe this is just not my kind of scent plus might not be working with my skin, but it has surpassed how long I expected to smell this on me at least.

Makes me think of Meryl Streep's unforgettable line read from The Devil Wears Prada: "Florals for spring? Groundbreaking." At this point there's really not much left to say about the Aqua Allegorias. There's 1 great one (Pamplelune), 1 nice one (Menta Fresca) and an infinite number of merely ok ones (the rest). I gave up testing them years ago, but seeing that they came out with a rose one I thought I'd give it a shot. Guerlain made one of the most delirious, distinctive roses in existence, Nahema, so I had my hopes up that this might be a fraction as good. Alas, just a pleasant, fruity rose floral with a bit of zest, evanescent but refreshing, like a sip of Rosé. It smells the same as a thousand others, and has a slightly malnourished quality that most rose perfumes share these days, but you could do a lot worse. The search for a truly worthwhile rose fragrance continues!

Surprisingly more masculine! I never thought I would encounter a rose fragrance for men but this seems to have all the notes I associate with male perfume, there’s something distinctly spicy about the dry down that smells almost like men’s shampoo. It’s an nice scent nonetheless, inexpensive enough for me to feel comfortable wearing it on a normal day. It’s part of my daily rotation. Slightly provocative and more mature, which I like. Opens to the smell of roses then turns into a more musky woodsy scent. But because the scent is so intimate, it’s quite hard to make out the base notes without dousing myself in this perfume.

My new hair mist is because it never lasts. I spray it and it evaporates. This performance is sad for this price. The fact that Guerlain has become one of my favorite brands doesn't mask my disappointment. This fragrance came to me as a gift. It's a great gift for a rose lover like me, but it doesn't last. Unfortunately, the other fragrances in this series are also weak in terms of longevity. If you need an expensive rose-scented hair perfume, don't miss it.

Got a sample of this fragrance. I love almost every of the Aqua allegoria line, and I love a good Rose faragrance, but this is just too banal and weak. Pros: If you like rose then you might like it. It's very floral and delicate, not a heavy Rose, so it does not smell old or headache inducing. Very safe for work environment. Cons: weak longevity and very weak smell, and considering the price tag I would not buy. Also too simple and boring

It's so meh for the price. It smells good, and it is definitely a rose, but in an air freshener kind of way, not a scent I consider as a proper perfume.

Although the longevity is impressive, I don’t like the way it smells after the dry down. I would say its too powdery !

Very candy-ish, sugary rose. Too sweet for me.

I’m a little disappointed. While this is a pleasant and mass-appealing scent, it smells very generic, as there are a dozen perfumes out there I have smelled that are similar to this. Ralph Laurent Romance and Lancôme Tresor in Love are both very similar to this. Even if not exactly the same, it was close enough for me to draw the reference immediately. Perhaps rose and litchi pairing has become ubiquitous and banal, and not many can top Chloe EDP. This scent is very sweet and rosy with an ample amount of musk. Not what I would characterize as fresh. The dry-down gets more delicate which I prefer. Overall it’s not as interesting as its predecessor Flora Rosa, maybe because it’s lacking the unique violet note, but still a very pretty scent.

Supremely disappointing. The scent itself is nice enough but nothing special: a sweet rose with an underlying berry vibe (to my nose). There are equally or much more beautiful earthy/sweet rose scents out there. But the real problem is that this not only irritated my skin but just does not last, not more than a few minutes. And that is just not good enough. It might be better in cooler weather, but I somehow doubt it. I'm likely to give this to Oxfam, as I didn't pay much for it at Allbeauty. A poor addition to this line of otherwise really great scents.
