Aqua Allegoria Rosa Verde

agree with the wellness garden impression. minty cucumber water on the spa patio next to the rose garden after the rain. while smelling within the first half hour you first get a soft pink rose that melts into cucumber and then mint, before the rose fades and the cucumber and mint start melting into a chypre scent. i'm not used to my nose being led in this way when it comes to soft floral designer scents, i am impressed. very close to the skin on a cooler rainy summer day, i'm sure it performs better on a hot day based on composition. while i'm clearly not the target audience, i'm often pleasantly surprised by how interesting aqua allegoria scents can be while staying 100% inoffensive and wearable to most. while i'd say the sillage underperforms with rosa verde (at least on this particular day), it's even more interesting than other aqua allegorias i've sampled. if you want to give the impression of a tall glass of iced tea/refreshing beverage of choice on a hot day to the people around you while exuding an air of sophistication, this is a solid contender. now i need to go watch a cure for wellness

I'm madly in love with it. I'm a lover of all fresh and clean fragrances but usually all my beloved perfumes have a very prominent citrus. This one is quite unique for me it's very green, fresh green leafs but there's also softness and feminine vibe of a very delicate flowery rose. It's delicious and soooo refreshing and green at the same time. Someone wrote here it's like a salad. I agree but in a good way. It's Like sitting outside in the a green and dewy garden, when it's cool and breezy and eating the most delicate and fresh salad . I love Guerlain aqua allegoria line for the beautiful vintage like bottles and and for making fragrances that focuses on prominet one note, I just wish it had a bit more strength to it. It fades out completely within 3-4 hrs.

I don't get why this fragrance is so divisive. Maybe it is because some people have bad associations with fresh rose scents? I cannot get it because I find this to be divinely beautiful. It has a well rounded combination of rose, fruits and fresh elements(cucumber and mint) and a hint of violet which makes it dreamy. The musks in here are also very creamy. It is a scent that evokes positive feelings, images of lying in a dewy rose garden in the summer biting into a watery pear. It is fresh, but voluptuous, airy but not lacking depth, happy but not childish. It has become one of my favourite fragrances! Please try it even if you don't usually like rose!

On my skin, it lasted for several hours with phenomenal projection - even in a nauseating train station setting. On me, Rosa Verde opens with the scent of fresh cucumber - those sweet, garden-picked ones I used to pluck right off the vine - blended beautifully with rose and a touch of iris. Feminine, but not sweet. It smells exactly the way it’s meant to: like a summer after-bath. To my nose, it feels more "moisturizing" or hydrating than aquatic, soft and soothing, strangely elegant. I loved it, I bought it, and I plan to use it as a base for layering, since it’s such an enveloping fragrance...

This smells exactly like dove cucumber deodorant spray that I used to put on when i was a teen, it's so refreshing!!! The first whiff is cucumber and a bit minty fresh. Nothing too sharp. I can't quite pinpoint the citrusy bergamot. Then the rose starts to creep in, It's very tamed, like a pink rose which just bloomed, not overripe, not overpowering at all, quite tolerable for sensitive noses. After a while of wearing it (2 hours), it did gave me a slight hadache. Update: someone said to me it smelled like an old lady perfume and i dont know how to take that.

I know this perfume has met a solid amount of criticism, but I can't find any negative feature about it. Actually, it earns me so many compliments. The opening is fresh and soothing, quite peculiar if compared to other fragrance with the same target. The cucumber and the mint are quite prominent in the opening, but then the rose overtakes the stage and gives balance to the entirety of the fragrance. The dry down is lovely as well. It will be my summer perfume, even though smelling it always gives me the feeling of a late spring promenade in Florence.

Yummy sweet lemony green earl grey ice tea with rose petals and a little dash of mint. On my skin cucumber does not stand out at all. Refreshing, happy fragrance for summer. Sillage and performance is good (6-7 hrs). Rose does not get soapy, the playful freshness remains at the dry down too. The opening has similarity with Hermès Un Jardin Sur Le Toit, but on the long run the difference grows; the later is more tarty, dry, green grassy, Rosa Verde remains sweet, sunny, juicy.

I wanted a perfume to replace Jardin Sur Le Toit. This is a nice update to that. It’s very similar but no apple. Although Magnolia isn’t listed as a note in this , something in it smells like it. This is nice projection the first hour but then becomes a skin scent. I smell mostly rose, pear, and violet with a nice soft musk base note. A very nice spring and summer day scent. It lasts longer than others in the allegoria line - about 6 hours on me.

I was very excited for a green minty rose scent. Had high expectations as I thought this might reminecence my beloved 90s Smith's Rosebud salve in minted rose. It didn't give me retro minty rose vibes rather more cucumber heavy. It's weak for such a high price point. Very fresh though and has a pleasant violet note. If you want a dewy summer rose scent this might be for you🌹

Fresh, youthful, only slightly sweet rose water with cucumber. Comparing to this, Garden Party is a sweeter, more obvious rose and no cucumber (but a better price), You Or Someone Like You is a fistful of rose petals thrown on a soda (but like twice the price) - so this one is a good compromise, and to me a spot on, not too cloying and not too delicate.

First impression: 😍😍😍😍😍you know, when it's hot outside and you open the door of a very chic flower shop, this feeling of freshness, green leaves, delicious subtle flowers scent, water, dewiness. I have to try it again , and if I have the same experience, I'll consider giving some money to Bernard Arnault ( owns Sephora and Guerlain)...

smells exactly like cucumber w a little bit of sugar, I love it

Starts with cucumber, mint, and pear. There is something deliciously acidic and fruity that evaporates quickly, so that's disappointing. This perfume becomes very weak after a couple hours. I'm not getting rose or musk honestly. Not getting chypre either. I just get fading cucumber and violet. Cold fragrance. Summer. Too weak and ethereal for spring, unless you live in an area where spring is hot. This is really more something to apply in August when it's hot and gross and humid, and you just took a cool shower. Edit 2026-03-16: Actually I am getting rose. I had it on my collarbones yesterday and after about 45 minutes I smelled a gentle rose scent and I couldn't figure out for a minute where it was coming from. Not honey-sweet like Arabian, and not acidic like European, but a very fresh, light rose.

Aqua Allegoria Salada! This is very green indeed and smells like the sensation of munching a vinaigrette lettuce salad. This is not a bad thing, I love salad... The rose is minimal. I feel 'rose dew' more than rose, almost the wetness of a rose bud opening rather than a heady damask rose. I could imagine this being part of the old line up of Un Jardin de Hermes in the JC Elena era. It also has a nod to the most subtle of Cartier's offerings (Oh how I miss Baiser Vole in EDT!). I've bought it in November. I can't wait to smell it in the spring time as it needs skin, not jumpers. I will only wear this now straight from the bath to bed. I think it would be calming for sleep. It's quite odd, rather lovely and definitely not boring.

Every summer I end up with at least one AA and, as long as you take them for what they are , a light summer splash ( and don't pay too much !) they're great. This one isn't as good as my other purchase , Rosa Magnifica ( if you REALLY want rose, violet and iris, get that ) but considering we're in a heatwave, it's perfect. Seeing words like cucumber and "oceanic" I thought it's going to turn 90's ( not much of those have stood the test of time, one the best survived and there was a lot that were mediocre ) but thankfully, not. Add sweetness, you turn the cucumber to melon or amp up the ozonic notes and you get detergent. But they didn't. Instead it's a ( real ) rose lemonade with a cucumber and mint . Light, floral and fresh.

The opening of Rosa Verde is a generic soft musk. However, after a few minutes, a floral symphony starts to appear, but no distinct rose yet. Suddenly, I get an impression of vintage floral perfumes, maybe those chypre notes are responsible for that. A soft rose then makes an appearance, but I feel that it is more distinct in the sillage than from up close. There are also green notes enveloping the fragrance, but the cucumber and mint are not clearly cut, the greenness is rather an amalgamation of both. The rose in Rosa Verde is delicate, and so is the whole fragrance. Rather than taking center stage when wearing it, Rosa Verde provides a lovely background, allowing its wearer to smell tenderly fresh.

As a male, I didn't like anything from Guerlain in a long time. Until Rosa Verde. I like YOSLY from ELDO, but I tested it recently at Harrods, both on skin and on my shirt, and It seemed different than before. Both longevity/projection and smell were disappointing. It smelled so tame and generic. Was it reformulated?! Anyways. Rosa Verde is better in every way. Smell and performance. It is so green, so fresh and uplifting, and it lasts and projects really well. I do get the so-so rating; most people these days prefer sweet, creamy, ambery perfumes, and RV doesn't offer any of that. It is an icy, cucumber-y, minty, (fresh)rose scent. Really well done!

This is one of the rare green scents that doesn't sting or turn sour on my skin. It's soft, green, dewy goodness, the rose in the middle of a garden freshness, perhaps a sort of “wellness garden” with some ponds and water lilies, but still a garden watered after a light rain. I appreciate the softness and dew around the rose in the middle (a pink or white rose) and the airy softness of the base notes - no creaminess, more like a cooling silk fabric moved by the wind. I really like it and would buy it if it came in a smaller bottle - I feel like it belongs to summer and the sun and should be used up before fall in Northern Europe.

Such a beautiful green floral fragrance. When I first smelled it I was kind of in a rush and only sprayed on paper so I didn't get to smell it once it developed so I didn't really like it then, but I figured this needs another chance so today I sprayed it on my wrist, and yes in the opening it's very green, which is not a bad thing, but then it becomes so much better as the rose and floral notes come forward. It is a truly gentle, calming and peaceful, yet elegant fragrance. It's a different take on rose than many sweet rose fragrances that have been coming out lately, I really like it.

You or Someone Like You in a beautiful Guerlain bottle. I love this perfume, It does have a bit more of a bamboo scent to it, whereas YOSLY smells more like a realistic mint. Rosa Verde also has a bit of similarity to Room Service by Vilhelm. Overall this is a wonderful fragrance, It is clean, royal, bright, and a little minty green. I'm a bit biased towards this scent profile but scents like this really appease my mood. it's so nostalgic and so beautiful it's almost like magic. 10/10 💚

Definitely something interesting i would dare to say ! An interesting take on rose -> green, aquatic,ozonic, solar,citrusy. I get beach vibes wearing it ! Like a solar lotion before jumping into the water. That cucumber note is really intresting ! A bit metalic-leafy-fruity-aldehydic.Pear, mint, iris, rose and violets. The dry-down remeinds me of a chypre-rose/ floral perfume ( which i personally like). Worth a try and on my Wishlist for the next Summer Season.

This is a very beautiful fragrance, maybe my favorite among all Allegorias! It has the typical Guerlain DNA but was made very gentle. It's like Insolence or LPRB made really fresh and bright and summery. I know, fresh LPRB with mint sounds awful, but somehow Mrs. Jelk managed to make it really lovely. Bravo!

This perfume is like a spring rose bathed in green dew. It represents a very elegant woman, with a light and fresh composition. It doesn't overpower the surroundings but envelops them in an aura of mystique and romance. It’s a very pleasant experience with green soothing aura.

A really pleasant, soapy-green scent, but rather short-lived, and with almost non-existant sillage. The first time I used it I thought I could equally well perfume myself with scented soap, the second time was a little better.

Yes, it is similar to You or someone like you from ELDO. But, at least at the beginning, it has some citrusy-honey moment that kind of reminds me of Clinique - Happy. I think i really like this one, I just hate the bottle.

Minty, fresh, aquatic rose scent. The rose here is very fresh and dewy, white roses...the cucumber note is very prominent and realistic. It is very nice. Very good for my job environment, it is soft and fresh. Good.

It begins like a garden at dawn, dewdrops still clinging to the leaves, the air oh-so-incredibly crisp with crushed mint leaves and morning breeze. The rose, which is delicate but not fragile, gleams with a hint of citrus. It shows off this brightness that feels almost weightless, like light reflecting off water. The greenery hums beneath, a backbone fresh and unripe, laced with a whisper of fruit sap. After a bit on skin though, Rosa Verde's scenery of glistening dew evaporates before your eye (or nose). What was once lush begins to dry, the verdancy sharpening into a slightly acrid, muddled green florality. The petals wilt under the sun, their softness giving way to something more bare, more raw. A bitterness creeps in—the darkness of iris, perhaps, or bitter whispers of wood—cutting through the last remnants of our once-vibrant garden, already in the midst of drying up. By the end, all that’s left is an echo of green, not fresh but faded and dirtied, an aftertaste of something once bright but now brittle. What began as a garden in the morning becomes a handful of dehydrated, polluted stems in the afternoon—cool at first, then strangely hollow.

Ehhh... To my nose this is perfectly pleasant, though I'm bothered by how trite it seems. A cucumber facewash with hints of the palest, most limpid rose, it's nevertheless a relatively successful riff on the aquatic-adjacent subgenre of the Aqua Allegorias, and mercifully spares us the ozonic or pondwateresque excesses of some others in the line. Nevertheless, whenever I smell it, I can't help but think it would be far more vivifying to just eat some cucumber, or put cucumber on your face or hair or use some cucumber water for something. It to me smells like a glass of water with cucumber floating in it, with the barest hint of something rosy and fruity. Delightful, for all of 30 seconds or so before its banality presses in from the side. Like I say, it's okay, but I'm ready for more daring, more creativity from the Aqua Allegoria line once again. They were once using all kinds of soft spices and interesting herbs, unusual florals and novel new structures. I don't think an eau de makeup cleanser is really sufficient to hold my interest at this point. Herba Fresca did the tonic thing far better

At first spritz, you're hit with a blast of cucumber. Then the mint rushes in, brisk and punchy, adding a cool green bite to the mix. The overall effect? It instantly conjures up 'khyar bi laban', the Lebanese yogurt salad with cucumber and mint - a close cousin to tzatziki. And that’s where things get tricky: once your nose takes you straight to the kitchen, it’s hard to make your way back to perfumery. I just can’t shake the culinary association. I keep searching for the rose, supposedly the star of the show, but it stays hidden - shy, maybe, or completely drowned out by the loud green duo. It’s a shame, really, because there’s a sense that the composition is clean, original even, but my nose, too wrapped up in food memories, just can’t embrace it as a fragrance. Rosa Verde might appeal to fans of fresh, aromatic scents or die-hard mint lovers. But if you’re someone who regularly dips pita bread into herbed yogurt, be warned: this one might catch you off guard. Or make you hungry...

More verde than rosa! The opening is bitter and astringent, yet incredibly green the whole time. If you've ever tasted a cucumber with an incredibly bitter skin, that's what this smells like. Even though I don't love bitter notes, I was impressed by how green that bitter cucumber skin/rind was. It provides a great balance. Very quickly, aquatic notes started developing on my skin. I was hoping the watery quality would take over or that the eponymous rosa would start developing, but the bitter greeny remains. That combination gives this fragrance a very soap-like quality which is enjoyable but not particularly remarkable for me.

What a Rollercoaster. On first spray this smelled like straight up grass to me.. I thought, "this is going back" .. BUT!! after a few minutes it settles down into a pretty soft watery cucumber rose, very pretty and refreshing. Once it dries down fully, it becomes a beautiful classy sweet powdery but still fresh green rose. THEN at about the four hour mark it is a very perfumy chemical smell.. and it lasts FOREVER.. could still smell on clothes days later that strong chemical smell..so not for me

My absolute favorite from the Allegoria line is Herba Fresca which I adore ❤️ It’s actually one of my favorite scents overall (I could bathe in it) So I was hoping that Rosa Verde could do some magic aswell because of the mint note. Well, it’s okay, but.. a bit boring. Nothing stands out with this scent. I get some hints from Tiffany Sheer or Gucci Flora by Gucci. Maybe because of the sharp green scent. I’m a bit disappointed so it might have to find a new owner ☀️

has that cool, freshness of mint and cucumber. smells like a mint. i like it! edited to say that it still smells the same after drying on my skin (very FRESH a little bit spa like) but i will be returning the fragrance because it doesn’t have a lot of dimension — I can’t smell the floral on me. My mom tried it and liked it on me but not on her, had a powdery floral smell reminiscent of an old lady a little bit. not bad just not what im looking for.

I liked the opening, green, aquatic and ozonic, but then, I love mint. Rose and pear are quite noticeable too. It's completely different from the aquatics of the '90. I enjoyed it for 2-3 h until musks came and choked all the charm and me with it. If you have a problem with heavy musk, don't go near it. Longevity is surprisingly good, well over 6 h.

I love this one. I does pull a little bit pickles... just a bit but it smells like a fresh cucumber mint water. The dry down is the Guerlain Aqua Allegoria DNA, watery, aquatic, yet powdery and a touch floral. I really do love it. very very fresh. Dont over spray or you'll get pickles. I also find it to be unisex, a perfect fresh sent for spring.

A fresh and green rose. It's definitely a summer scent. Good, but, in my opinion not good enough for that price? I feel like it's the cheapest smelling of the 4 roses of the current aqua allegoria rotation. Almost no sillage, the longevity was okay. If you want to find a better fresh rose try Rose Croquante by Caron.

I get hints of Herba Fresca but this is slightly fruitier, a bit like Hermes Un jardin sur le toit. It is fresh and pretty but for me nothing will ever beat Herba Fresca in this scent category.

Overwhelming cucumber baby wipes. Good performance for a fragrance this soapy. Totally not for me, but my friend enjoyed it and couldn’t see where I was coming from with my comparison.

A fine rose scent. You do get a bit of the cucumber and mint but it isn't the greenest rose scent I've ever smelled. Still mostly dry and sharp rather than green.

First off, this was a free sample atomizer I received from Guerlain with a purchase so I cannot complain too much - but I will: Guerlain should be ashamed of themselves for handing this out. The atomizer barely worked at all; it wouldn't mist, it just squirted when it decided to work at all. Secondly, there was barely enough perfume in it for one wear, about four sprays! WTF?! Anyway, that aside, what does it smell like? Actually, it smells good! Although I have to admit that I am a bit lost as to what it's supposed to be. The Aqua Allegoria line is part of the trend of brands having fragrances that are very easily wearable by all, clean, and straightforward (and should be inexpensive, but that's another matter). This trend, to my thinking, got very popularized by Guerlain (with AA) and Hermes; the trend is basically Jean-Claude Ellena in a bottle. Perfume super-nerds, collectors, and snobs tend to turn their noses up at these perfumes because they never will, nor are they intended to, wow you with their creative vision, complexity, or execution. I am perfectly fine with this trend - I love it actually. There can be no shortage of great perfumes that are easy, fun, clean, straightforward, inexpensive, and just make you smile with simple sincere happiness. Despite the playfully frivolous and easy nature that these perfumes are supposed to have, there do need to be rules and an actual creative direction to get them done and get them done well. Guerlain has found this out the hard way numerous times with the Aqua Allegoria line since many missed the mark of intent, customers didn't understand them, and therefore many have been discontinued and rightfully so. Cue Rosa Verde. Despite Rosa Verde being good, I suspect it won't be long for this world since it falls into the bin of "what are you supposed to be?" Upon application I am immediately hit by notes of cucumber, mint, and citrus (lemon or bergamot, hard to tell which) and they fade almost immediately, which is a bit disappointing. Incoming straightaway is the floral heart that is a shockingly electric rose note. You can tell there is something a bit softer and powdery working in tandem - the brand says iris - but it's hard for me to tell because that rose note is just so overwhelming. It is so bright red that it's neon. Whatever, or however, Delphine Jelk created this accord is bizarre; this is a rare time when rose actually makes my nose tingle (and honestly made me sneeze a handful of times). The histrionics of this rose note are extremely distracting, and trouble is brewing. Aqua Allegorias are not supposed to do this. Is it the ingredient that is supposed to give a pear note that is doing this? Is the fruit accord that is supposed to be present actually more astringent and sour than it is soft, juicy, and sweet? Guerlain says this perfume has a base of white musks. I don't know if that's true, but I'll believe them. I've been wearing this EdT for nearly 5 hours and the rose note still hasn't calmed down enough for me to tell exactly what's at the base. There is a soapiness to this that has to be the musks. That's it! - That's what this smells like! It's one of those super abrasive, filling-your-bathroom-with-super-aromas hand soaps that go straight for your nose like a boxer would for a KO punch. Final thoughts: I like Rosa Verde. It's shocking in a good way, but it's hard to wear simply because it's going through an identity crisis and displays its histrionics loud and clear - which means it's not a good Aqua Allegoria, but it's certainly not refined enough to be a full-fledged perfume in Guerlain's main lines. If you like this perfume too, enough to buy a full bottle, great! I would understand that completely. I won't be buying a bottle. I don't have the time or the patience to work through someone else's identity crisis, no matter how interesting of a person they might be. That's not my idea of easy, clean, simple, happy, and fun, which is what Aqua Allegorias are supposed to be.

24. February 2025 I had hopes it would be something like a short lived Valentino Donna rosa verde, but it is nothing like it. At first you get s very nice fresh rose scent with hint of mint, but it is very short lived. After less, than 30mins on my skin it turns into a cucumber water face tonic, that they used to sell back in a day (or maybe even still now) in my home country. It was dirt cheap and i had it in my teenager years. It quickly dries down into something very airy and aquatic with a metallic undertone. You know, if you have ever smelled shiny metal poles during the frosty weather, i mean reallly freezing, then you know what it smells like. Me personally hate that smell, i smelled it before in one of Kenzo Flower flankers, named "Kenzo flower l'eau l'originelle" from year 2015 (they even share many similar notes, i checked). They share that weird metallic note, that i dislike. Not something i want to smell like for 130eur. It is sadly a pass for me.

I got a tester spray, and loved the first time I tried it. It smelled like a crispy pear with a hint of rose and mint. Now I sprayed it on my wrists and almost hate it. What happened?? All I smell is some dated rose scent with too much cucumber in the background. Yes, it's the combination of cucumber and mint that produces the stale, outdated aroma. How could my first impression be so different? I am confused. This is a lot like the Dove Cucumber deodorant as @hanavanille said. I also feel this smells like something very old-fashioned. The bottle and the colour of the perfume are beautiful but unfortunately the scent itself is not.

Opened with a wave of freshness almost synonymous to Hermes H24 Herbes Vives but with less bergamot and more fruity notes plus the cucumber. Got almost no rose for me. First 30 mins was fine but the dry down was absolutely rancid, I expected the rose to come through later since I got none at first, but all was left was the smell of pickle juice and marinated socks. So glad a didn't blind buy this as I was shopping for a fragrance for my mom.

On my skin the top notes ruin everything.. I am just waiting and waiting but the mint and cucumber don't fade and I cannot smell any flowers just something sour and powdery base and the cyphre a bit later. I was curious about the violet rose combo and that was the point to test it. Very disappointed and I am glad I ordered only a sample because it is not something I would enjoy. Surprisingly good longevity, unfortunately.

A big dislike!! So far I have liked all of the AA series, but this one is just...off. Based on the notes, this perfume I imagined would smell like Chloe Naturelle Intense, but they could not be more different. Rosa Verde is sharp and prickly, and not at all smooth and creamy. I will stick to Herba fresca and Mandarin Basilic from the AA series.
