Cherry Blossom

I was really surprised when I found this perfume. Never expected to find anything for me in Guerlaina, but this one was a surprise. This perfume is gentle and airy. Beautiful and so real and unreal at the same time - feels like being in magic garden. When I wear it it's almost fully cherry blossom even closer to sakura than to european cherry by the scent. It's almost not detectable for myself as it's apparently quite close to my natural scent. Also I like the variation of jasmine in it. Not all types of jasmine is good on me, but this one is hard to detect, but it still really seductive. Sillage is moderate. Haven't found even one person who disliked it on me, because the scent is strangely close to real smell of the cherry tree. Almost perfect perfume for me.

Soft, clean, powdery. Girly and beautiful. I do not get much cherry from this scent, even though the notes mention cherry fruit as a component. I do get fresh notes of bergamot and tea, plus lilac and jasmine with some fruity nuances, it is bright and transparent, very uplifting . It has a moderate to soft projection which is not surprising for something so delicate in scent. The bee bottle with its ribbon and the pink fluid is just amazing. I am not sure I would pay what I paid for this scent again, I think it is more like an aqua allegoria scent. But, well..Guerlain is Guerlain. I will keep my beautiful bottle and enjoy the soft, delicate scent.

For those confused about the difference between cherry and cherry blossom, just confront this parfume with Petite Robe Noire Premiere Robe EDT. There you get the difference. Here we smell a lot of cherry blossom, lasting for several hours and playing with green tea and discrete lilac. Unfortunately, this one is now discontinued and off the shelves.

While I much appreciated the sample from a dear Fragrance friend, the price to performance ratio is downright criminal. Is it lovely, light and incredibly fleeting? Yes, but I find that to be acceptable for a fragrance that is < $1 / mL--many of the Aqua Allegorias fall under that category when purchased from reputable discounters. I adore Mandarine Basilic to the moon and back, and will HAPPILY re-apply it every 90 minutes in the summer heat and carry a cute little travel atomizer with me. But this? Lasting 1 to 1.5 hours, at $3+ / mL to hunt down discontinued?! No way in heck.
